Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

OP posts:

Phoenix ouch....hope you get better...xx

deleting · 31/01/2009 21:11

I think all this talk of strange, erotic dreaming is catching, like some mass hysteria - hurray.

xxhunnyxx - I think the hammock sounds a bit gimmicky and as you say you will have to get a cot in the end anyway. Looking at it, I would be surprised if it lasts until they're 12 months. More like a moses basket. Usually by that age they're trying to pull themselves up or at least moving around and it looks like it would tip up or they would lose balance when it rocks and fall out. We've got a cotbed from John Lewis, three levels, so difficult to throw themselves out and then you just take the sides off when they're old enough.
Good luck with bf. Sounds promising.

Phoenix doesn't sound very nice, but lots of water should help. I have had thrush on and off for weeks, never had that before either. Thought it would just go away by itself, but keeps reappearing. Anyway at my antenal with dr I mentioned it and she gave me a pessary and some cream. Did it last night and am shitting myself now because read too late that I shouldn't have used the applicator and I've had some aching slight periody pains. It seems to have gone now, but I've got the fear.

xxhunnyxx · 31/01/2009 21:33

deleting I think u might be right, read some reviews on a different sight which don't sing it's praises quite so much. Gonna see if I can get one cheap on ebay but if not think I'll just get a cot bed. Altho it would be handy for takin to bf's or my mum's, would save me havin to get a travel cot.

QueenFee · 31/01/2009 22:46

xxhunny I haven't used one myself but I remember someone starting a thread about a copy of one that had just been launched - might be cheaper
heres the thread
hope its some help to you.
Good luck with the relationship too. I've come to realise that sometimes men just need some time out to reflect and your better just letting them - pregnancy is a huge upheaval in any relationship. We have struggled through a few similar stormy patches and have now been together 8-1/2 years - Good Luck

QueenFee · 31/01/2009 22:51

Meant to say - I had a swinging crib fr my previous 2 - family heirloom and thought the rocking would sooth them. My DD loved it my DS who was V V coliocky and had lots of problems sleeping HATED being rocked and we had to tie it shut!

BonzoDoodah · 01/02/2009 08:49

You can get a travel cot on ebay for about a tenner (if you pick a local seller) so you can easily take that to your parents and elsewhere - no matter what you have at home.

Newb · 01/02/2009 10:03

Ilikeyoursleeves he's at Flims-Laax (we live near Zurich) I'm v envious as well as usually I'd be with them. Also apparently the weather was perfect sunshine in the mountains yesterday and grey by the lake. Huh.. next year I'll be back out there....

In fact DH is extra lucky this weekend as I had a somewhat saucy dream last night (about people from CSI, would you believe ) resulting in an (ahem) lovely start to the morning for him. Don't know what's come over me. Must toddle off and knit or clean or another activity more suited to a pregnant person!

(Newb reaches her TMI limit and considers more gentle topics of conversation for next post)

Newb · 01/02/2009 10:12

*Misspaella" the tops are sort of fitted at the top, then a-line ish to top of thigh. Bit of cleavage. These seem to be the best shape for me (5'8' and hourglass shaped) The stretchy ones just emphasise the flab...

xxhunnyxx · 01/02/2009 11:07

Queenfee - thanks will check out that thread.

Ok really weird dream last night - dreamt my bf killed my brother and then burnt him in a big fire in the garden and then cooked spare ribs on the fire. The ribs were good but I was so upset that my brother was dead . Also dreamt that bf slept with another girl and caught genital warts. I'm not sure whether that was before or after he killed my brother tho .

Some further good news about the relationship tho, he's asked me out on valentine's night . There's a big group of our coupley friends goin for a meal so it won't be a big romantic affair but still very excited . I'm now on a mission to find something gorgeous to wear so I look fab!

muppetgirl · 01/02/2009 19:57

Ephrine ? so sorry for your news xxx

Newb ? glad you got some maternity clothes you like, it feels so much better when you like what you?re wearing and it fits!

Ilikeyoursleeves/Queenfee ? wishing I was having saucy dreams!!

xxhunnyxx ? haven?t got a baby hammock myself but those I have known really like them. I think the less your baby moves about, learns to sit up etc and if they are of average size and grow averagly you do get quite a bit of use out of them. We?re going ti use the swiinging crib we got for ds 2 (ds 1 grew ut his moses basket at 12 weeks so I sold it) our friends are using it for their son at the moment but will get it back in the summer. After the crib he?ll go into the cot that ds 1 and 2 have used ?that?s if I can ds 2 out of it!

Am having lots of movements and lo does not like it when I bend over to our coffee table and I get direct kicks very low down. Cannot wait for the 20 week scan (3 weeks) as we are desperate to find out if it?s another boy (we have 2 already) everyone is asking.. we found out with the boys and named them before they arrived which was lovely. ( I am a bit of a planner ) Would love a gril but don?t mind another boys as we have all boys clothes and toys etc but a little bit of pink would be nice

Am watching Dancing on Ice now and are dying to see Todd Carty!!

muppetgirl · 01/02/2009 19:59

ahem

That would be 'would love a girl'

(not gril )

dannyg · 01/02/2009 20:49

I cant wait for my 20 week scan not till 5th march though, seems so far away am def gonna find out sex too, already have 2 boys too and feel out numbered so Girl would be nice too,im desperate to buy lovely pink outfits lol. my cravings for salt & v crisps and kit Kat's nw include ice Lolly's, which in this weather is bizarre.

Beccabump · 01/02/2009 21:06

Evening all

Can I join the weird dream brigade? I dreamt Friday night that we had put up a big cardboard tent in the garden for DD. As it was raining I needed to take it down but thought I'd look out the window in the spare room 1st to check how bad it was outside.

Cue me waking up IN the spare room having sleep-walked in there!!!!! Could have been so embarrassing as the in-laws were staying in that room Saturday night!!!

Feeling sick tonight - ate too much dinner - so now feel like an overinflated tyre

xxx

QueenFee · 01/02/2009 22:10

Just added Marmite on toast to my must haves. Trying not to go and make yet another slice mmmmmmmmm
muppetgirl I think the worrying thing is I didn't notice 'gril' until you pointed it out! I so have baby brain this time round!

muppetgirl · 02/02/2009 10:27

QueenFee -

Am really trying not to eat the amount of crap I normally do when prgt. With ds 1 and 2 I got through 5 doughnuts after breakfast everyday! This time I am really not going to eat the rubbish. MMMmmmmmm marmite on toast sounds lovely though and I think I have some in the cupboard

Phoenix · 02/02/2009 11:50

Not bothered about marmite on toast but i've been having Nutella on toast a lot

Been to GP and got ab's for uti. I've rang in sick at work as i seem to have sciatica pain in my back and left bum cheek.

xxhunnyxx · 02/02/2009 12:53

Phoenix I keep craving Nutella on toast but keep forgetting to buy some every time I go shopping

Patchybob · 02/02/2009 17:53

Hi everyone, Hope you are all ok

I heard the baby's heartbeat today. Had been having really bad cramps since saturday and got to the dr today. By the time I got there I was quite tearful and worried, but it turns out its a UTI.

Got antibiotics for a week and on the up side she quickly checked the baby out and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time . Very pleased about it as I was convinced that it was bad news. Silly how you can get yourself in such a state.

xxhunnyxx · 02/02/2009 21:14

patchybob glad to hear everything is ok. seems to be a lot of pg women gettin UTI at the mo. It's lovely to hear baby's heartbeat isn't it?
I've not seen or heard my baby for a few weeks now and for some reason (despite being quite worry free lately) I've began to think maybe there's no baby in there! Silly I know. I've not felt as pregnant for the last couple of days, bump doesn't feel as big and when I've felt a little kick I've thought 'well maybe it's just wind'. I really wanna see or hear it but not got a mw appointment till 17th and scan on 24th .
Sorry I'm just wingeing when I've not really got any reason too, annoying I know!

ilikeyoursleeves · 02/02/2009 22:09

Hi all, hope everyone is doing fine

I am still having bizarre dreams, last night I dreamt that I bought some weird S&M style leather trousers that had no crotch and I went out for a jaunt in them with no knockers on! LOL and !!!!!!!

On a happy and more realistic note, I got out me doppler last night and found Sparky's heartbeat no problem! It was great to lie in bed and listen to his little heartbeat, it's so fast! I could also hear him swishing about and then the HB would move over to the other side so we have an active little un methinks! Verrry exciting!

And I finally told my boss I'm PG again today, she is off on ML (only went off at Xmas time), I think she was OK with it but hey what can she do?

Here's to more mad dreams tonight- hopefully more saucy ones!!!!!

ilikeyoursleeves · 02/02/2009 22:12

Oops, knickers even!

hunny you could buy a cheap doppler on ebay? Then you could hear the HB at any point Mine is from ebay (search 'angelsounds') and it's fab.

Phoenix · 03/02/2009 09:12

Think i'm gonna buy a doppler as i'm the same as you hunny and i'm really not convinced that i can feel it move yet (16+4 wks)

Patchybob · 03/02/2009 09:14

hunny I am feeling a bit paranoid too, I think mine stems from Ephrine's terrible news as I have felt really worried since then. My 20 week scan isn't till 6 march, but I have to go to Guys next tuesday for a detailed heart scan as my dd was born with a heart defect and they just want to check this one out.

Now I have heard the heartbeat as least I can go to the scan knowing I am pregnant! Like you I don't feel as pregnant anymore, but think thats just because the sickness has gone. Having a few movements now

Had a dream last night that I was Jack Bauer and trying to escape from a building with Tony! Too much 24 for me!

Phoenix · 03/02/2009 09:54

Is the Angelsounds one good then? Easy to use? And easy to pick the heartbeat up?

Belgrano · 03/02/2009 13:34

Ephrine I don't know what to say. I am not even sure you'll be reading this any more - I don't know if I would be. I am so sorry and send you so many hugs and would like to send .
I really feel for you and I wish this hadn't happened to you. Please take it easy and don't blame yourself for anything. Know that you are hugely in my thoughts. I am sorry was slow on the uptake about your message cos I didn't log on earlier. I am infrequent at the moment due to boring busy-ness.
Take care Ephrine and my prayers are with you.
