Anyone due July 2009? Part 2

Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

OP posts:

Thanks Christiana, Misspaella, Patchybob, Newb, Ilikeyoursleeves and Gillyan for the kind messgaes - moved me to tears while catching up on the weekend posts. Mind you everything moves me to tears at the moment ...

Phoenix - like the list. It's a girl for us (we did our IVF with donor in California and there you can pick the sex). We were lucky to get 4 female blastocysts and my husband was desperate for a daughter, so we've only implanted girls. Lucky this one took because it was the last one !

Overdid it at the weekend - stupidly not following Patchybob's advice and unpacked 2/3 of the boxes that our life is in after we moved house last week. Felt a bit achy in the area where the baby is (I've got HUGE fibroids so I know exactly where they implanted the embryo to avoid them). Sure it's nothing but will now worry non-stop until next scan at 16 weeks.

No cravings here but just gone off lots of stuff eg. chocolate (which I used to love but can't even remember why now) and especially the thought of milk swirling about in tea or coffee (the thought is the only time I've felt nauseous). I know what you mean about juice; I've always been a fiend for orange juice but now I want everything ! Fixated on thick slushy pineapple juice and freaking excited that I unpacked my juicer at the weekend and can now make my favourite: carrot and apple with some lemon. Mmmmmmmm!!!

deleting · 26/01/2009 15:03

thanks princessbuttercup.

i thought I was having early movements, around 13/14 weeks or so, but when I mentioned it to midwife she laughed in my face and said "I don't think so". Am definitely getting them now though, bubbly under the surface and I remember the feeling.

deleting · 26/01/2009 15:08

maidinamerica - I'm sure it will be fine. I did way too much tidying, moving furniture around, was some mad early nesting I think and was very achey.

Patchybob · 26/01/2009 16:43

maidinamerica now I get your name!!! Wow, it all sounds like a long journey. I think the whole pregnancy process is a worry, I have had 2 great scans and am now worried as everyone seems to be feeling movements and I haven't as yet! I worry if I haven't got anything to worry about!

I am with you on the juicer! I am making one several times a week, chucking in everthing I can think of! Some are lovely and others vile! My 2 dc are being made to drink them all, don't think they have every had so much fruit!

rattling · 26/01/2009 16:54

Hi all. Special hello to Lizzie - fabulous news. Suspect I was merely lurking when you were on this thread, but I remember you well.

Had my first midwife meeting today which went really well. She's booked me in for a detailed scan in 3 weeks when I'll be nearly 21 weeks, then a growth scan 8 weeks later - and she found both heartbeats really easily. I spent the weekend with the in-laws talking endlessly about the twins with a constant niggle at the back of my mind that possibly something had gone wrong and there weren't 2 any more. But there are! Got to start facing that fact. Also booked in already for a twins breastfeeding clinic in May!

I'm starting pre-natal yoga on Friday. I've done yoga for a few years, so I'll get an idea of the pregnancy rules then return to my home practice too.

Still having issues with food. Not too much trouble eating any more (as long as I take antacid tablets after), but can't face cooking or cooking smells or people talking about food. And I'm not getting the joy from food I remember so well. I hear the joy returns and is multiplied when you breast feed - anyone want to back that up?

Deleting - hope your little one continues to confound the experts and is 100% healthy. I'm also knitting furiously. Must go up a size soon - only so much knitwear a newborn needs in July. But the little things are so quick!!

Misspaella · 26/01/2009 17:09

Hi everyone

Christiana thanks for the Shiva DVD tip. I got it last week and it was really good. I was thinking about joining a local pg yoga group but I already pay for a gym membership and just can't justify more money on my fitness. The DVD is great and I can do during my own time.

It is great that it shows the alternative moves for each trimester.

Princessbuttercup I am still doing some cardio (like spin) and I use my Polar heart monitor to make sure I don't go too crazy. Though it is hard to remember at times. If I can't count down with the instructor easily during a track I take it easy for the next.

I feel like I have a little fish swimming inside me at times. Definitely baby and not wind.

MS is almost gone but I got all projectile yesterday and Sat cooking for my DC's....I have gone off food again (but not cake, that I still love). By the time MS is gone I will be in the severe heartburn stage. The joys, eh?

Must go and start the dinner, grumpy o'clock time for DD.

Wiltedrose · 26/01/2009 17:30

Hi all, can I join please? My name is Emma and I've been lurking for a while but really should out myself - left it a while as have managed until fairly recently to convince myself that there isn't anything in there and I've made it all up and then couldn't think of a chat name .

I picked Wilted Rose in the end as that's how I feel - as if I used to be quite attractive and smell nice, and now I'm tired and droopy and just smell of jacket potatoes, which I'm mad for at the moment and will happily eat for lunch and dinner!

I am due 6 Jul and according to scan am 17 weeks today. Bump keeps coming and going - quite odd - anyone else looking pregnant some days and not others?

I'd like to say it's the baby turning around into different positions, but I know it's still pretty small so maybe it's bloating or something! Just looking fat again today. Am sure people at work think I'm making it up to hide the fact that I gorged on mince pies at Christmas.

Not totally sure if I've felt any movements yet, could just be wind.....I should say that I already have a dd who is 2 1/2 and am finding pregnancy a very different experience this time around. For example, haven't even picked up a book this time!

Anyway, pleased to officially make your acquaintances, look forward to sharing in your pregnancies and hope to have some bump chat soon x

ilikeyoursleeves · 26/01/2009 18:15

Hi Emma, welcome! I only just unlurked the other day so I feel fairly new too

My bump is fairly big when I stand up (I look about 5 months I think!) but when I wake in the morning and haven't eaten for a while I can feel a definate baby bump but it moves position from day to day! This morning it was all over to the left and yesterday it sat to the right! Weird...

You could change your name again once you start feeling attractive and perky LOL! Perkysecentedrose LOL

All this yoga and exercise chat is making me feel so unfit, although I did walk to the park today with DS does that count?

Anyone else eating tons of crap? Today I have had....

-pain au chocolat
-THREE packets of S&V crisps
-one lollipop
-supernoodles (how unhealthy but deeelish)
-glass of milk
-apple
-some of DS's banana

DH is cooking chili con carne so at least that's relatively healthy.

Wiltedrose · 26/01/2009 19:19

Thanks ilikeyoursleeves
I have a secret thing for Supanoodles too, but it has to be the chicken ones, and the full fat ones. They're the ultimate comfort food!

Don't forget though that although it feels like you ate loads of crap, actually you ate an apple, which must wipe out at least 1000 calories just by virtue of being fruit

xxhunnyxx · 26/01/2009 19:23

Hi Emma, we're due on the same day the list says i'm due on the 8th cos not bothered changing it after my scan but I'm actually due on the 6th too x

As far as my bump goes it's pretty big and seems to be all the time! But I think I'm still at the point where ppl must think ''is she fat or pregnant?'' !!!

It's payday today so thought I'd get on Amazon and treat myself to this Shiva Rea DVD but their website appears to be down at the mo . I'm like a child sometimes, once I've decided I want something I want it NOW!! I think I really need to grow up over the next few months lol

Ilikeyoursleeves - at least you've had some milk, apple and banana, surely that must counter-act the 3 packets of crisps and supernoodles? lol
I was eating loooooaaaads of crap but I've bucked my ideas up a bit now but I still can't really face cooking much . I still make room for S&V chipsticks, cake, sweets and chocolate tho

Phoenix · 26/01/2009 19:48

Welcome and congrats Emma

xxhunnyxx - I've updated you too . I'm like you with 'I want it NOW' I can never wait for tomorrow when i can have something today.

Misspaella · 26/01/2009 20:32

Welcome Wiltedrose and congrats. I am actually droopy too, literally. I was told to lift my boobs and place into the bra cup by the fitting lady at John Lewis . May need to change my name too.

Ilikeyoursleeves your diet seems fine to me. Was the lollipop fruit flavoured? If so, I am sure it counts towards your 5 a day.

Hi hunny and phoenix and anyone else about.

ilikeyoursleeves · 26/01/2009 20:44

Yes my lollipop was apple flavour

Now added to my list is...

-chilli con carne and rice and lots of creme fraiche
-a Thorntons chocolate Santa lollipop (yes still wading through the Xmas goodies!)

  • a 1/3 of a big bar of white chocolate
  • a prenatal multivitamin and omega 3 capsule

Feeling a tad sick now... Nothing more shall pass my lips til brekkie! (honest...)

I just tried on my new maternity trousers, I will wear them to work tomorrow when I break the news that I am pregnant again! I only returned to work in Novemeber there so I am dreading telling them, I have covered up my bump so far with baggy tops and tanktops but it's getting obvious now. They will be so shocked cos I've been on A/L for 11 days and my belly has popped big style! Wish me luck!

woollyjo · 26/01/2009 20:54

All the talk of yoga and exercise has exhausted me!

(heads off in search of something high calorie and low nutritional value to revive herself)

scully · 27/01/2009 10:59

Hi ladies, will try and catchup with the bits I can remember reading
Congrats Lizzie, hope everything goes well this time. Hi Hobnob, lovely of you to still pop in. What a long time in the making Maidin America, I can understand why you're still pinching yourself
I have been feeling movement for about a week now, am just 16wks. Heard the hb today, which was reassuring, and told the dd's today as well, they are both very excited. One wants a boy and one wants a girl, so at least one of them will be happy dd2, who is 3, and not the patient girl, can't quite grasp why she can't see the baby yet
I've been classed as low risk, and because of my successful vbac last time, they are happy for me try for another vbac this time.
m/s seems to have finally left, still tire more easily this pregnancy than the others, and have a little more heartburn this time, didn't really have any with the other pregnancies. I have a definite bump, so should be interesting when dd1 goes back to school tomorrow after 7wks summer holidays, I'm sure she will have told the whole school by first break

Mrsmope · 27/01/2009 11:54

Hi all

Congrats to both Lizzie and madeinamerica on your news.

Is anyone else busting out of their bras? Have already gone from an A cup to a C cup so have bought around 8 new bras in total and a new swimsuit. Can't imagine what size they are going to end up but am finding them really inconvenient. My husband caught me holding them the other day and I had to explain that it was rather like having someones breasts swapped onto your body and that if mens bits and pieces suddenly grew so quickly they would all be walking around with their hands down their trousers in amazement.

Can't wait until my next scan as I keep panicking everytime I don't feel the babies move for a day, although I am aware at this stage that this is quite usual.

Also I am getting terribly forgetful and have picked my daughter up from nursery early two days running because I forgot what time she got out. Hope that my brain doesn't become two muddled as I am in the middle of doing an Open University degree!!

In fact, should be doing some work on it rather than sitting on here blabbing on.

maidinamerica · 27/01/2009 13:13

Don't worry MrsMope; I'm huge on top; but then I started as a 34F and now rejoice in a 34 GG. May topple over if they get much bigger. But have only bought 3 maternity bras as know my luck.

Wiltedrose has echoed my feelings. I feel like some comlpete unkempt compost heap and must do something to make self look more groomed and less 'through a hedge backwards'. Plus started day by pulling out one huge wiry and completely white hair from scalp. For crying out loud. Great way to start day. The only thing I have mananged is to wax legs due to my every-three-to-four-week-scan ritual but can see that I'll be giving that up now we're moving on to scan on belly.

Plus I too have the lingering smell of baked potato with me everywhere I go...

Wiltedrose · 27/01/2009 13:31

Hi xxhunnyxx nice to be sharing due date, it was getting a bit lonely on the 6th! Still dd was induced at 36.5 weeks so would be extremely suprised if I make it as far as July, but we'll see!

Had a bit of a scare this morning, was cleaning dd's teeth and felt some water trickle out like I'd wet myself and when I checked there was blood in it - of course you can imagine I thought my waters had broken - m/w got me to go to the hospital (where I had to walk past the labour ward and see them wheeling the newborns around) where they did a quick scan and everythings OK, got a wave from the baby, cervix closed, plenty of fluid round the baby and they can't explain the bleeding. Sent me home, bit drained of energy after all the 'excitement' but v relieved as I thought the baby would be coming out...

rattling I am very jealous that you can knit, somewhat in awe of anyone who can knit their own bootees! I don't have the patience, although would love to learn.

Sharing the boob angst. Determined not to go into saggy-boob inducing maternity bras, far too early to have tits round my belly button, so have just bought some max strength Shock Absorber sports bras from Figleaves where they were BOGOF - figuring I will get proper support for my generous bosom at least! Also slapping on Mama Mio Boob Tube cream to see if it works!

Have also just bought the Shiva DVD - it was the last one on Amazon so maybe the July girls have bought them all up

deleting · 27/01/2009 14:27

wiltedrose - what a horrible scare, glad it's all okay - back to the baked potatoes. I had a scare last time, thought waters had broken, ran to hospital, missed flight (we were going on holiday that morning), only to realise I had simply pissed myself. A very costly accident.

rattling - the beauty of bootees is they're teeny, so they're done before you get bored.

I've got a coldsore and a ulcer on my tongue.

Phoenix · 27/01/2009 14:53

WiltedRose - How scary. Glad all is ok though

I've heard baby's heartbeat today . Was getting a bit freaked because mw1 was struggling to find it. She handed the doppler to other mw who found it straight away .

I really need to buy some bigger bras i'm really bursting out of my normal ones now

Phoenix · 27/01/2009 14:55

Oh and as expected BP was high so i have to go to the practice nurse for monitoring every few weeks for at least the rest of this pg.

PrincessButtercup · 27/01/2009 14:57

deleting am practically peeing myself at your peeing yourself! Sorry! Did you eventually realise that this was the problem or did you have to have it diagnosed??!

Welcome wiltedrose! Sorry about your scare. Thank goodness all well. Good call on the sports bras; I'll get myself onto Figleaves asap. Mama Mio Boob Tube is amazing - that should definitely get you in the mood for a perked up name change (loved ilikeyoursleeves' suggestion!). I am in the rather smug position of loving my boobs at the moment. I'm usually a miserable wannabe B cup (buy B cups but can't fill em). Gloat alert: I'm now at least a C cup and can still pass the pencil test!! (I have just tempted fate beyond belief haven't I??? You can all tell me I thoroughly deserve my pitta pockets in 12 months' time!

V envious of your house move maidinamerica. A big sclep, I know but I love the idea of fresh new start, new baby. Perfect!

Beccabump · 27/01/2009 15:07

Hello all...just popping on to say I had my 2nd mw appt today and got to hear Bean's hb!! All is well as see mw again last day of March :D

xxx

Patchybob · 27/01/2009 15:08

wiltedrose I am so glad that everything is ok, a good excuse to put your feet up.

I am another of the July's who got the Shiva dvd from amazon. Really like it but have to do it when the family are out as I think I look a bit strange! Its hard to do at first when you don't know whats going on and you have to keep looking up at the tv! Oh would love to be a fly on the wall!

I have 4 children coming for tea today (oh why did I suggest it!) and stupidly did all my housework this morning. What was the point of that!!
