Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

OP posts:

lizzie thats great hun, best of luck, keep us posted too

Hi hobnob hope you're okay too

Congrats maidinamerica wow what a long time you've spent try to get pregnant - that must of been so hard - I bet your over the moon now!

CRAVINGS - Salt n Vinegar Crisps for me too - hula hoops at the moment and Walkers - I find the discos's, pringles, etc strip my mouth as a bit too salty but still yum

Apple juice too - I have started buying little catrons to take to work as an extra drink and can easily down a litre carton in a few hours when I am at home

The beige description of food is funny and so true

My biggest cravings are for the little packs of sushi you can get with the cucumber in rice and seaweed, the egg omlette on rice and the prawn and salmon on the rice with loads of soy sauce and ginger - I know I'm not supposed to eat the fish but I don't care

Also - same craving as last time that I have again is cottage cheese with pineapple on ryvettas with cherry toms! Yummy

Also - potato sticks, prawn cocktail shells, jaffa cakes, hot cross buns, iced buns, mini eggs, popcorn.

FOOD THAT MAKES ME WANNA PUKE

Meat - chicken, mince beef, steak, turkey - sandiwxh meat - urgh - was veggie for 8 years till last pregnancy and I had to eat some meat as ill so never been a real meaty eater but just cannot stomach it. Also gone off sweet things and am totally savoury maybe this is a boy. And I've gone of teatime meals and would rather have toast or cereal.

Got my mans birthday tomorrow and my DD is 3 on sun so going to have a busy weekend - having a party for her with 15 kids coming and the weird stalker dad I have mentioned will be there and totally dreading it!

ilikeyoursleeves · 23/01/2009 21:01

Maidinamerica huge congrats on your long awaited pregnancy! It's ultra exciting isn't it? I have a DS conceived via IVF (TTC 5 years before that) so I understand where you are coming from esp the bloatedness! I'm PG again but amazingly it is natural this time Best wishes for a fantastic pregnancy!

Re cravings I am sitting here downing apple juice and eating salt and pepper kettle chips mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Congratulations Lizzie and good luck Hobnob.
I am getting a bump and keep parading around thinking I look very pregnant but actually I look lie a porkier version of myself. So disappointing, this in between stage!
I've put on half a stone in the last 10 days tho, which is an achievement. I'm pleased as had such horrid flu at Christmas that I actually dropped weight in the first trimester with all that vomiting and nausea to contend with as well ast he flu. Yay for some chub!
Hope all's well with you all.

Newb · 24/01/2009 14:38

Hi All, and congratualtions Maidinamerica.

I've gone all Desparate Housewives today and am putting ginger and lemon essential oil in hot water to make the place smell better. Ooh it's lovely better than reeking of toast which it seems to do a lot of the time.

A friend is coming over later for afternoon tea - crumpets and scones with lots of tea. Can't wait!

It strikes me that my life gets more like my Grandmas as I get older....why is that?

hobbgoblin · 24/01/2009 15:31

Why is it that you lot have food aversions going on and I just want to eat it ALL??!!!

I am being ridiculously laissez faire about what I eat but have given up the dolcelatte for now.

No cravings as yet but suspect that it will be ice pop madness for me once the weather gets warmer, as per previous pregnancies.

Had sexing scan today and the due date has changed to 9th July.

Patchybob · 24/01/2009 16:42

Congratulations Lizzie, after a miscarriage it is such a relief to get pregnant again and start counting the weeks of a new life, not the one that didn't make it. Fantastic news.

Maidinamerica that is just brilliant news, so thrilling for you. Rest up and enjoy!

I had a result yesterday. Had to get some clothes to cope with expanding bump and went into Dorothy Perkins where their sale is just ending. Got a pair of skinny jeans which fit brilliantly and look cool(ish) for £7! Wey hey!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone. I have just helped a friend with a birthday party for 15 little 6 year olds so am now going to indulge in a movie in front of the tv!

Beccabump · 24/01/2009 18:47

Hello all

Had a busy week here not made any easier by the fact that my SPD is now absolutely horrible and I can't walk from the car to the door without hobbling like a weirdo Have started wearing my physio belt but it is not really doing much at the moment.

Weird how lots of us are on the apple juice!! I can only seem to drink the pressed stuff like Copella as it is thick - I don't want to drink anything watery as the moment so am constantly fighting off dehydration (although my bladder has not been informed of that at 3,4 and 5am!!!!)

Also craving skips crisps too - how weird as I have seafood????

Thought I felt some movements the other night but it may have just been wind! Will see if I get anymore before getting excited

Hugs to all xxx

deleting · 24/01/2009 22:07

great news lizzie, wasn't on this thread then, but very pleased for you.

Have just found out that my bf is pregnant and only about 10 weeks behind me (as far as she is guessing) so very excited about that.

I have no cravings really although I was drinking pints of orange or blackcurrant juice mixed with fizzy water to make healthy pop, but have had to stop drinking it as it gives me terrible acid indigestion and bloating.

Got our appt through for 6th feb at great ormond street for our cardiac scan. consultant has booked us in to look for any problems and has warned us that with such a high level of fluid they usually find something wrong. We'll see, we've surprised them all so far. Have been knitting frantically to take my mind off that one. Addicted to it and have done thousands of pairs of baby slipper things (the easiest thing in the book!)

Beccabump · 25/01/2009 20:47

just checking its working here

Beccabump · 25/01/2009 20:48

yup it's working - everyone is just quiet today!!!!!

ilikeyoursleeves · 25/01/2009 21:08

Hi all,

Well I am sure I felt Sparky move today! (Babba is dubbed Sparky because we conceived on Bonfire night ) I have felt little twinges here and there before but today I felt definate twinges low down occuring for a few minutes at a time then again later on. I remember that was initially the same sensation I had with DS. EXCITING!!!! I'm only 14.5 weeks though, anyone else feeling movement this early?

woollyjo · 25/01/2009 21:34

I can definitely feel movements but am 18 weeks today - love it

xxhunnyxx · 25/01/2009 21:34

ilikeyoursleeves yeah I first felt slight tickles at 13 weeks and then defo flutters at 14 weeks and this is my first pg. I'm now 17 weeks and just started feelin more of a kick sensation, still quite gentle but not just little tickley flutters anymore .

Well after weeks of saying I'm going to go to the yoga class at my gym I finally dragged myself there today (it's at 9.30 on a sunday which is way too early ).
Anyway, it wasn't much of a success really, I told the lady I was pregnant and got a bad back so she didn't want me doin any of the stomach exercises and some of the exercises hurt my back a bit so I didn't do those and then the bending and touching my knees gave me terrible indigestion to the point where I felt sick and then bump got in the way of some of the squats n crunches etc.
So.... I was thinking I would be best with a yoga in pregnancy DVD, anybody got any recomendations?

Phoenix · 25/01/2009 21:36

I'm really not sure that i can feel movements. I sometimes think i do but then think it's something else I'm 15+2.

ilikeyoursleeves · 25/01/2009 21:41

Hunny do you know if there's a pregnancy yoga class near you? I went to one when PG with DS and it was fab. Really gentle moves (most of the time!) then I went to postnatal yoga too. Sorry I don't have any DVD recommendations though.

xxhunnyxx · 25/01/2009 21:57

I don't know of any pregnancy yoga classes, I didn't even know there was such a thing. I'll try and find out tho.

Congratulations, Lizzie! I'm so pleased for you.

Beccabump, sorry to hear that your SPD is so troublesome. I hope that it doesn't get too much worse in the months to come.

Everything crossed for you for the 6th Feb, deleting. I hope that your measurement was just one of those unexplained anomalies and not something.

All well here though I have a horrible feeling that I've an umbilical hernia. My belly button has popped out and feels revoltingly squishy underneath. I noticed it after an enormous coughing fit today (woke up with a dreadful cold) but I'm not sure if that's what caused it. It's not painful so hopefully not problematic. I've been googling madly and will see my GP in the next day or so. Not too worried as apparently it's quite common in pregnancy.

Belgrano LOL at parading your bump! I too am guilty of parading what looks more like a localised muffin top! Especially at the gym, where I find myself actually sticking my tummy out as far as poss to show everyone that I'm pregnant, not porky! Oops, perhaps this over-extension was the cause of my umbilical hernia!!

Christiana thanks for posting those DVD titles. I'll definitely take a look. I've been continuing my gym routine pretty much as normal just no heavy weights or weights above the head and keeping my heart rate down in spin classes, but I'm becoming increasingly unsure of being able to gauge the level at which I can safely exercise. I definitely want to keep up some cardio work (not running any more though) but more importantly want to remain as fit, toned (ha!) and flexible as I can so those DVDs look ideal.

Newb/Bree - Tea at your house sounds lovely! Since the onset of morning sickness about 8 weeks ago, I'm definitely more in line the Teri Hatcher character (cannot remember her name!) when it comes to housekeeping! Who am I trying to fool - I was the same pre-ms too!

As for baby movements, every now and again I feel a definite bubbly sensation which I would put down to other things but it feels too similar to the actual movement I felt in my last 2 pregnancies not to be baby moving. How exciting!

Acceber · 26/01/2009 10:24

Hi all

I haven't been on here for a while but I'm at home today as just had my blood test for down's and spina bifida.

Listened to the baby's heartbeat and it was 167 bpm! He was moving around a lot and could here him moving! It was amazing.

I think I can feel something - but it's only light.

Haven't read all the posts above, so sorry if I have missed something, but congratulations Lizzie - I remember you from Tink's pregnancy post before Christmas. Am really pleased for you. x

Phoenix · 26/01/2009 10:29

Is that the triple test Accebar? I've got mine tomorrow, i will be 15+4 so hoping mw will try to find the heartbeat because in the last few weeks since my 12wk scan i've become very paranoid again that there is no baby, even though i've seen it .

Acceber · 26/01/2009 10:35

Hi Phoenix

Yes it was the triple test. I asked her to find the heart beat but I think she was going to do it anyway.

I am the same as you - it is hard to believe something is in there. I was worried that I was just getting fat!

Nekabu · 26/01/2009 12:59

Christiana, I have Shiva Rea's prenatal yoga DVD too! Just bought it from Amazon from wfhltd (very good service, I got it the next day!) and do one of the sections most days.
