Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

I had ultra s&v cravings when I was PG with DS so there might be some truth in those old wifes tales... Actually, I am pretty much having the exact same pregnancy so I am predicting I'm having another boy!

ilikeyoursleeves · 22/01/2009 14:53

Thanks princessbuttercup for the snackajack suggestion, will have to try them. Anyone else know of any very very very salty crisps? (I'm fantasising about buying a packet that has loads of blobs of salty crisps mixture at the bottom of the bag) mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

lucasnorth · 22/01/2009 15:23

phoenix thanks for that - I hadn't heard about it. Have registered on the site for them to send me a reminder when I can claim - someone out there knows how pregnant ladies brains can get

I'm having salty cravings and my heart is racing quite often; it does make me wonder if this time its a boy as all I wanted was cake when I was pregnant with DD, and no racing heart. Have to wait for March to find out for sure...

Woolyjo sorry to hear your news.

I have been for my booking in appointment today and we heard the heartbeat! The midwife had warned me not to get anxious as it was still early days but we heard it twice and it put my mind at ease that he is still in there doing his thing

lastboxoftampons · 22/01/2009 16:35

moomin Congrats! I'm very you got to hear the hb at the booking in! they told me they would do mine next time.

MoominMoma · 22/01/2009 16:56

lastboxoftampons I have to admit I didn't expect it, she told me she would have a try but as it was so early I wasn't to get distressed if I didn't hear it. I thought it would be something for a later appointment.

BonzoDoodah · 22/01/2009 18:25

oh I'm starving too - can't eat enough. It's madness - hungry but only for rubbish. Princessbuttercup I love the description of beige food! Perfect. S&V Crisps and crap white bread toasted with marmite = my entire diet. (oh and ginger biscuits)

Sorry to disillusion you all though - I craved the same things last preg and had a girl ... so I guess it's just how you feel. (And I'm the chocolate queen usually).

illikeyoursleeves - congrats - what a lovely surprise ... I'd go for McCoys - they're mega salty and vinegary... and the Baked Walkers ones are extra strong ... oh and Discos are good too ... can you tell I'm addicted??

And as for the voucher for healthy mummies .... do you think they're redeamable at Thorntons???

ilikeyoursleeves · 22/01/2009 20:19

Well I am now eating my way through a big bar of white chocolate and have just eaten a mini flake and half a time out (after my dinner too, at least that was healthy- jambalaya!). But I also have a packet of Walkers S&V sitting waiting for me later!

Bonzo can I ask- what were your cravings when you had a girl? I know there's no real substance in these old wives tales but it's fun to predict

LargeGlassofRed · 22/01/2009 21:34

On the cravings topic, have craved savory and gone of sweet stuff all together.
With the girls I craved cake and chocolate
With ds I craved savory too, and is this is 2 boys I think there is a pattern, so my guess was right

bellybaba · 22/01/2009 21:37

I went off chocolate for quite a while but have only just started to get back into it. Saying that, it's not something I need to go for though. Although I've been munching loads of crisps like mad. Salt content I guess. So thirsty as well though. But today has been a real hormonal day. I could cry at the drop of a hat. How is everyone else doing?

QueenFee · 22/01/2009 22:00

I had mad craving for pickled onions and beetroot when pg with DD - mmm I could still eat a jar! With DS it was toast with honey. Maybe i'm just back to front. Unfortunately I am craving lots of Coke this time round... I think I am having a girl this time but have no real reason to think this. (However my gut instinct was right with the other 2!)

I am really lucky as I can feel the baby kicking and have been able to for a few weeks (thought I was imagining it but MW said its possible in subsequent pregnancies) I means I worry less about bump as bubs like to keep me away at night with somersaults! I still love the feeling though.

Glad you heard the HB moominmama it's such a reasuring sound!

woollyjo · 22/01/2009 22:16

Hi All, Thanks for the kind messages, I'm feeling far more human now (FIL lived by a busy road in London and this country girl gets no sleep down there). Heading back that way tomorrow with our van to help empty the flat. DH is holding up well but the funeral is not until the 5th of Feb, something to do with a winter back log - poor people!

On the cravings front with dd I craved belgian buns, spicy food and stella beer! I hate lager normally and would steal swigs out of dh's bottles.

This time it is still peas, bananas and very lemony things oh and brioche. Just started getting up in the night for dd's fromage frais - raspberry only. I feel like the secret lemonade drinker in the old ads!

No-one should let a tired, hungry pregnant woman and a toddler near a supermarket dd and we came back with such a random selection of food mostly baked goods, yogurt and broccoli ...

Phoenix · 23/01/2009 08:05

I didn't have cravings with ds but crisps are my big weakness all the time, i could eat crisps all day long .

In this pg i'm eating s&v or pickled onion crisps and drinking lots of coke but i don't think they are particularly cravings. I am eating chocolate but that's just more of a case that i can because they are still there from christmas, i'm normally not bothered about chocolate.

for HB Moomoin. I hope my mw tries for me on Tuesday, i'll be 15+4.

Thanks to everyone for car advice. As I am having to fit in a double pram/buggy need plenty of boot space so will probably get a Mondeo or Vectra which both have huge boots.

Rattling you were right. Have now started to look more pregnant and I'm sure if I weighed myself will have put on some weight. Am finding that I am not eating at much as usual because if I eat a huge meal I feel really uncomfortable after. Must be because everythings a bit squashed in there, god knows what it will be like in a few more months.

Haven't really had any particular cravings this time, but when I had my daughter ate loads of chocolate, which I don't usually care for much. Have been eating lots of roast beef and steak. Have been cooking joints of beef in the middle of the week just to make sandwiches with, so suppose it is a craving in a way.

Can't wait until my next scan for reassurance that everything is alright and also to find out the sex of my babies as I need to get decorating rooms.

Hope everyone is feeling well.

BonzoDoodah · 23/01/2009 12:08

Cravings? The only thing I really absolutely HAD to have with my DD was apple juice - one morning on the way to work. Had to take a detour to the Co-op and buy a huge carton and guzzle it int the car. But I did eat crisps all the time (same as this time), and toast and basically crappy carbs. I completely went off chicken (made Christmas interesting) and even the thought of it would make me gag - and I usually ate mostly chicken of all meats. And I suddenly wanted beef. Pub lunches I?d have steak pies every time - and this from someone who hadn?t eaten beef for 20 years since the BSE thing. Very odd. Haven?t had the chicken thing this time tho.

I?ve been bursting out of my trousers this week so thank goodness at the weekend I bought a few belly bands from Topshop. Shame on me - child labour and all that - and it did feel weird having a maternity section in Top shop - felt like being in a primary school!. (they were even cheaper in New Look but I went there second). Well they are super ?. I?ve been waddling round with my trousers half undone and not falling down - safely under the elasticated belt - dignity intact (mostly).

lastboxoftampons · 23/01/2009 12:52

Every time I read this thread I want s&v crisps!!!

Bonzo So funny about the apple juice - I usually love it, but every time I go to buy some now, I end up with orange juice instead because it suddenly just doesn't sound appetizing.

Isn't the gagging because you're just thinking of something (ie chicken in your case) so weird? I've been having a particularly hard time loading the dishwasher lately because one day it was particularly smelly and now every time I open the door, I wretch! It's like a reverse pavlov's dog!!!!

ilikeyoursleeves · 23/01/2009 14:21

Bonzo that's funny about the apple juice, I have been drinking loads of that and I never normally even buy juice! I've been having OJ too and I also did that detour thing once on the way to work because I HAD to have OJ now.

I'v been good today, only one packet of S&V so far and they were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good- Discos and mega salty. Would quite like another packet just now but DS is having his nap so I am stuck on the sofa LOL. Really need to start the housework!

Hey ladies. Congratulations to everyone due in July. I'm 13 weeks today (so due 31 July) and got my fetal scan results this morning. All fine which is a huge relief and very low risk of chromosonal problems. Phew - it's taken 7 years, thousands of pounds, two IVF clinics, an egg donor, a miscarriage and a gazillion blood tests to get me this way. Having loads of extra scans just to make sure there's still a heartbeat ... still pinching myself.

Laughed about the posts from ladies saying that they're just getting a bump. I've been on so many hormones that I've been in maternity clothes since week 6 ! Went to stage two of this pointless business course last week and everyone thought I was 6 months along ! In fact I just stopped all the progesterone and estradiol and am actually shrinking !

Moved house this week too, so now we have a proper grown up home and a future nursery so getting really excited !

Woolyjo sorry about your FIL, hope your DH is doing ok. What sad news.

Congrats Maidinamerica ... you must be really excited about your pg.

I bought some bump bands from New Look (I know, not very ethical but both my husband and I have made redundant recently so need to think about the pennies). Ahhhh they are bliss. I can finally unbutton my trousers when needed.

I have no appts til my 2nd scan so just assuming all is well. I feel the little bean even more now which is exciting. Doesn't it make it more real?

Well better get dinner for my 2 rugrats. Hope it is not meltdown time at the table.

lizzie9442 · 23/01/2009 18:05

Hi I don't know if any of you remember me but I lost my baby last month and was on this thread! I just wanted to tell you all I am pregnant again and I think I will be due end of Sep. hope your all doing well x

LargeGlassofRed · 23/01/2009 18:32

ah thats wonderful news lizzie, congratualtions

hobnob57 · 23/01/2009 20:06

So pleased for you lizzie!! (Trying not to be v.).

I still keep tabs on all you guys, and so glad that most of the scares and ms are over. Sorry woolyjo that things are really tough for you right now.

So many twins!!!

We've managed to keep to cooking a day ahead and eating together christiana - thanks for your tips. I think it might help dd eat better, but the jury is still out on that one. She's certainly a bit more settled at tea time anyway.

So, back to the ttc business again. If only DH wouldn't get a monthly deathly virus at ov time, it would be a whole lot easier! Trying to keep my chin up. Time he started eating fruit. I've been out and got him some multivitamins today!

Fingers and legs crossed for you this time lizzie, keep us posted.
