Anyone due July 2009? Part 2

Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

Hi all just a very quick one,
had a scan today and alls well,
found out we are having two little boys!
was even given a picture of both wilies to prove it

Phoenix · 21/01/2009 17:14

Great news LGOR

Shall i put the baby's sexes that we know on the stats list? and add the rest as we find out?

Sorry to hear about your FIL WoolleyJo. So sudden, hope you and dh are doing ok

lucasnorth · 21/01/2009 17:35

Hi all,
Sorry to all those going through difficult times.
And congrats LGOR

Not much new with me. Definitely showing bump-wise, and eating like a horse (connected? surely not...) Just hungry all the time which is upsetting as allegedly no extra calories required until 3rd trimester

DD 2 next month and this week has been tantrum central. Hoping it's just because she has a cold... Struggling to stay calm and deal with it all without shouting .

Must go as has just kicked off again.

Ah! The doppler/sonic aid thing... I didn't have one for any of my other pregnancies but they were more 'normal' and I felt more settled about them. This time round I need the comfort so for me it is worth it. They aren't expensive - I bought mine on Ebay for £19.95 plus postage so came in at under £25. I wish I'd had it prior to my fall in icy conditions a couple of weeks ago!

I'm also glad to be over the nausea/sickness but teeth cleaning can still make me retch a bit, especially as my gums are bleeding sometimes now when I brush.

SPD is something I had badly with first pregnancy and mildly with pg 2. Not at all with pg 3. I'll just have to see with this one but I'm aware of positioning my legs when getting in and out of the car and so on so as to minimise the stress to my pelvis.

Lots of antenatal stuff going on now but then it'll be the long home stretch with no scans to look forward to unless I book the 4D scan privately. Anyone else doing that or is that de rigeur these days?!

Still contemplating unassisted homebirth...

QueenFee · 21/01/2009 19:23

LGOR now theres a picture tokeep for bribary purposes in many years time...

I have had a lovely relaxing day today and its done me the world of good. Feeling bright as a button now. I have finally reached a stage where MS has stopped and I have ENERGY!!! I even managed to get out of bed before 8 this morning. First time I haven't beem late on the school run in 169 weeks
Heres hoping you all get there soon
andie01 I tend to take dates with a big pinch of salt - ive been lucky this time that they have only changed it by a day

Gillyan · 21/01/2009 20:14

'woolyjo' so sorry for your sad news

Gillyan · 21/01/2009 20:17

saffer OMG I too cannot stop eating hotcross buns, how funny!

I am hungry all the time now and keep being ravenous in the evenings, defo got appetite back - heartburn is creeping in but not too bad

My back is reallt hurting on and off - when it's bad it's so painful - got maternity wedge cushion on the way

Got 2 new perply stretch marks - lovely

Feeling really big and only 16 wks - I am going to be like the side of a house

Glad everyone is okay xx

Phoenix · 21/01/2009 20:35

Have you all seen this?

Dh has just told me about it. It's a one off £190 payment from the government called a health in pregnancy grant

ilikeyoursleeves · 21/01/2009 21:15

Hiya, can I join in? I'm 13+5 today, had my scan yesterday and all is well! I actually had a scan at 7 weeks too because I have a long infertility history, this is our miracle pregnancy because DS1 (now 14 months) was from IVF and 5 years TTC and this baby is a natural miracle!

I've barely had any symptoms although have eaten a ton of salt and vinegar crisps and pickled onions (I am a walking pregnancy cliche lol).

Phoenix · 21/01/2009 21:19

Welcome and congrats on your little miracle ilikeyoursleeves

If you want to go on the stats list tell us your due date (my pg brain won't let me work it out ) and i'll add you

ilikeyoursleeves · 21/01/2009 21:22

Hi Phoenix, my EDD is 24th July. Telling work next week about our little miracle, totally dreading it though cos I've only been back for 2 months and will only be there for another 5! Anyone got any tips on how to break the 'happy news'?

QueenFee · 21/01/2009 21:27

Ilikeyoursleeves Wow congratulations. As for work I am sure if they know the history they should be understanding. Hope it goes ok for you.
I'm still into S&V crisps. Fancy a bag now but i've eaten them all

Phoenix · 21/01/2009 21:29

I can't stop drinking coke even though i know caffiene isn't good in pregnancy. I think i'm going to have some s&v crisps now

ilikeyoursleeves · 21/01/2009 21:38

I've just had a bowl of cheese chunks and pickled onions! If you are into S&V crisps I'd totally recommend Chipsticks, they are sooooooooo salty!

xxhunnyxx · 21/01/2009 21:59

Not posted on here for a while so thought I'd pop on and say hi.
16+2 weeks now, sickness has gone but I've now acquired some new symptoms lol. The latest symptom is indegestion, invested in some Rennies but they only seem to work for like...hmm a whole 2 mins!
I'm also in agony with my back but I've been referred for physio so got that next week .
Still knackered. And now my sickness has gone I'm just constantly eating, also a massive fan of Chipsticks, have a bag daily lol. The good news is altho I seem to be literally eating for 2 I'm not putting on much weight so I've figured I must be using the energy up making baby big and strong so I'll just carry on
Sorry for the winge!

xxhunnyxx · 21/01/2009 22:02

Oh also forgot to mention my heart palpitations. I'm not sure whether it's connected with the pregnancy or whether it's just stress. Anybody found they get them in pregnancy?

Newb · 22/01/2009 08:41

I invested today in some cereal "Actilife crunchy mix fibre". Tastes about as good as it sounds, but hoping this will be the key to digestive calm. So far I've been to the loo twice and feel like I'm about to throw up in the bin next to my desk.

Marvellous........

lastboxoftampons · 22/01/2009 11:38

Hello Andie Congrats on your scans and for making it past 12 weeks - I too felt like I'd never get here!

LGOR Brilliant news! Two boys! Congrats!

Hobgoblin Thanks for the doppler info. I think I'm just going to try to be patient and wait for my next appoint - it's only 3 weeks from Monday anyway.

As for the 4D scan, I think I might do one if I'm visiting the states in the spring. I think it'd be a nice thing to do with my mom, since she hasn't won't be here for any of my scans and I feel like we're missing out a bit on going through the pregnancy together (only girl here - my brother has 3 kids, but it's not the same, is it?). Not sure how my DH would feel about me having it done without him being there though.

Ilikeyoursleeves Congrats on your miracle baby! That's amazing!!! We're due date twins by the way Sorry no tips on breaking your news, except that remember no one is indispensible and your company will not collapse in your absense. They'll muddle through!

Phoenix Been aware of the Health in Pregnancy Grant for a while now. I really don't understand how the government thinks giving people a hefty one-off payment is going to help them eat better in pregnancy? Dress better maybe, but probably not eat better. I suspect there will be a lot of topping up of the pram funds as well! As if there weren't enough Bugaboos around! Seems like it'd make more sense to issue vouchers. Anyway, I'm not really complaining, and will definitely take advantage, just seems a bit naive to me! I think I'll use mine on S&V crisps since you all have me craving them now!!!!! And awful greasy Lays too - not the nicer Kettle Chips kind!

Am 13+6 today and I think my energy has been returning over the past couple of days. Don't like this in between stage though - scan was two weeks ago and it seems ages before I can get any indication that everything's still okay in there - either with mw listening to hb, next scan or some movement! How do we get through this part and maintain our sanity???

Gillyan · 22/01/2009 11:41

phoenix thanks for the info on that grant - thats quite good isn't it!

Welcome ilikeyoursleeves and congrats on the surprise baby!

hunny I got really bad back too and have been referred my doc to physio but not heard anything yeat and it was well over a wk ago?? Also heart palpitations - yes me too, in fact really bad last night, might mention it at nexy appointment.

I'm still starving hungry - going to go and make some early lunch - I think I'll have cottage cheese with pineapple on ryvettas with cherry tomatoes and then probably a sandwich and a bag of salt n vinegar hula hoops andthen probably more FOOOD!!!! Hmm not missing MS!

dannyg · 22/01/2009 12:57

Hia all, 15+2 today and all of a sudden have a bump (where did that come from), not so good on the clothes though Tue at work had to find elastic band to put on my jeans as were soo painfully tight. Think i need to start shopping. Been having low back ache & ache legs now for few days too which is making me feel feeling paranoid that every things ok. Thankfully my first midwife visit is tomo, will be bombarding her with questions even though this is my 3rd pregnancy!. hunny i have on and off heart palpitations too & racing think its to do with the extra blood pumping around the body. My 20m ds has also started throwing tantrums too also wonder how i will cope with 2 littlens once baby arrives, my eldest who is 12yrs is no prob and often helps out. on a plus note ms is slowing down although if i eat after 5 i still find my head down the toilet. oh the joys x x

PrincessButtercup · 22/01/2009 13:34

Hi all.

So glad that everyone's nausea seems to be clearing up. Mine's definitely on the wane and my need for food is massively on the up!

A little tip for all you constipation sufferers (I'm determined not to go there after my last pregnancy when mine got so bad, I once phoned my mum in agonised tears from the loo!) is to add a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed or (slightly less tasty but more effective) golden linseed to your ceral/porridge in the morning. This appears to be doing wonders in balancing out my current beige food fetish (bread, donuts, tea cakes...)

My waistline is definitely suffering so on the look out (embarassingly early) for maternity jeans. Has anyone found the perfect pair?? Ideally dark indigo, bootleg, stretchy, under bump. Please help before I manage to justify to myself a purchase of the Citizens of Humanity maternity jeans (and risk DH filing for divorce!).

p.s. The ultimate in salt and vinegar satisfaction: Salt and Vinegar Snack A Jacks. Gorgeous. I heard somewhere that salty and sour cravings indicate a boy (right in my case. I'm totally off sweet things). Surely an old wives tale....

deleting · 22/01/2009 13:35

queenfee - spd sounds like more than anyone deserves really, what with everything else to put up with. Presumably it gets worse the bigger you get as well. Not fair.
Woolyjo - sorry to hear your awful news.

Just putting my feet up after yesterday's busy day. dd at school and ds in bed. have joined a knitting class starting tonight. have always wanted to be able to go round corners and will hopefully move on from very long scarves.

lastboxoftampons · 22/01/2009 13:49

Interesting Princess about the salty cravings. I think we're having a boy (based on what the sonographer said at the 12 week scan) and usually I have a real sweet tooth, but just don't seem to want anything sweet right now.

deleting · 22/01/2009 14:15

lgos - great news, just looking at what you've got already, that evens it out a bit!
congrats ilikeyoursleeves xxhunnyxx - i have palpitations too (do you mean with it flutters) and am sometimes breathless already and it can't be the bump pushing up it's not big enough, must be hormonal or something to do with blood, had it with ds.

Noticing quite a few movements recently, especially when I'm drinking.
