Anyone due July 2009? Part 2

lucasnorth · 12/12/2008 17:05

Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

BonzoDoodah · 13/01/2009 13:11

How disappointing Christiana and does your mum know mine??
Mine asked me if I needed DD taking out on New Years day while we were preparing dinner for 10 while preg and DD (toddler) running round house and only being back from Christmas away the night before.
We waited til 12:30 to phone her and ask when she was coming ... she sounded out of breath so I asked what she was doing and when she was coming. "Oh we woke up late and your Dad wanted to walk somewhere else so we decided not to bother"
Speechless. Shall we not bother cooking the full Xmas dinner for you all then???

BonzoDoodah · 13/01/2009 13:14

I'm going to have to get the old maternity clothes out of the loft this week - am waddling round at work with my trousers undone because I can't breath. And only 12 weeks .... gulp. Midwife said you retain fluid more the second time... must be pints in there!

lastboxoftampons · 13/01/2009 13:43

LOL Bonzo But what makes me really worried - not only am I just 12+4, but this is also my first I don't think Christmas helped my cause to be honest!

And {{{hugs}}} to both you and Christiana about your mums I'm slightly worried my MIL might be similar, but I know my mom wouldn't. Only trouble is she's 3500 miles away

SafferUpNorth · 13/01/2009 15:59

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about your irresponsible-mother woes, Christiana. Like lastbox, my mum is on the other side of the world... but I'm sorta pleased she is, cos I fear she might have smothered me with 'help' if she was around the corner! Though I might eat my words after July!

Re. clothes... I'm still fitting into my normal jeans and trousers (only just! I surreptitiously undo the button when I'm at my desk).

I have, however, been wading into these marvellous credit crunch sales we're having, and purchasing a few pairs of bargain trousers one size up from my usual, to see me through for a while before getting into full-on maternity stuff. Ditto slightly a couple of larger, pleated and empire line tops and wraparound cardis.

Figured these would also be useful as 'fat' clothes once baby is born!

Beccabump · 13/01/2009 17:02

Hello there ladies

Having a grrrrrr day today as my SPD seems to be kicking in badly and I'm only 13+5

I have been in maternity jeans since 10 weeks!!! I just couldn't stand anything on my tummy and now I have a definate 'bump' although I know it is still going to pop out and up more soon - eek! Luckily my friend has loaned me loads of fab and trendy maternity wear and I also had a lovely maternity jumper from my hubby for xmas - lots of bullying from my sister secured that one!!!

I dread to think how much weight I have put on. I am oblivious to my current weight as my mw weighs on scales that only show kg and I ask her not to tell me the bad news! She always shouts whatever it is in kg down the hallway but replaces kg with stones!! So she'll yell 84 stone at the other mw's and they all laugh! Crazy bunch we have down here I know I am slightly over for my height but I think it was only by 7-9lb when I got pg.

Reflux seems to be hitting me most nights, will ask the doc when I run out of normal Gaviscon for some Gaviscon Advance as it works so much better but admittedly is like trying to swallow glue!

On a positive note DD went back to nursery today after the xmas holidays and was really good and settled straight away She has just moved out of the baby room and lasted all morning in the big room until 10 mins before I was due to pick her up. The staff were all really pleased as they thought she'd want to be back in the baby room more for a bit of comfort.

I am starting pregnancy yoga next week so I will be getting one night off a week to go and have a laugh with some other expectant mums and also have a nice cuppa and a biscuit afterwards!! The woman is recommended by the mw's round here so nice and safe and trained in treating things like SPD. The funniest bit is all the stuff you have to take!! I will need - one or two pillows, a blanket, a birthing/pilates ball and a yoga mat!! There goes my idea of walking the 2 mins down the road to the centre!! I am also hoping to start aqua-natal as soon as our pool re-opens from it's re-fit but that won't be until the end of March possibly.

Anyway, I have rambled on for long enough,

Hugs to all out there and welcome to our new ladies!

xxx

ephrinedaily · 13/01/2009 17:28

Becca sorry to hear about SPD, a friend had that with both her pregnancies and it kicked in pretty early second time round. Pregnancy yoga sounds good - I'm looking for some sort of antenatal exercise class but I can't find an aquanatal one locally which is what I really wanted to try.

Re maternity clothes - I am still trying to make the hipster jeans and wrap dresses last because I can't face the thought of mat clothes again! Have a bag of horrible ones in the loft and dreading getting them down tbh. Wouldn't mind some new ones - I've heard H&M or Debenhams are ok, last time I got all mine donated from mates so slightly cheaper.

DS has learnt to scream (for fun) recently and frankly its doing my head in. I'm surprised no-one's called social services. Am really struggling with him at the moment as though he's 14mths, he can't walk and he's a big chunky lad to get around!

Finally Belgrano - isn't it your appointment at FMC tomorrow? If so, good luck, hope you're not too worried, I'll be thinking of you. I've got yet another scan and consultant's appointment tomorrow myself. This baby is going to be even more scanned than the last one!

lucasnorth · 13/01/2009 17:46

Hi all, I've been in mat jeans since the 12 week scan (2nd baby). They're a bit big and they fall down slowly when I walk (!) but my normal jeans are too tight to sit in. Ho hum.

Take care all. Off to do supper now.

OP posts:
Belgrano · 13/01/2009 18:37

HI all
I'm still in baggies but inly because I lost weight with MS - I will definitely put it on and move straight in mat clothes when sickness properly stops cos I can already feel that I am starving underneath all the sickness and anti-food feelings if that makes any sense at all! I'm 13 weeks and a day now.
Last time I gained double the recommended amount in trimesters 1 and 2...oops
Hi Bellybaba, congrats!

QueenFee · 13/01/2009 20:08

beccabump I had spd badly last time and it started at 6 weeks this time. I have bee to see and osteopath and I swear I only get the odd twinge now. She also said pilates was really good for it if you can find a someone who knows about pilates in pregnancy.

I am at you all still in your own clothes as have been wearing maternity clothes for 7 weeks It is my 3rd though - I think your body just gives up! I put on 3 stone with both of my last pregnancies so expecting to do the same this time. Incidently I lost it all and more within 6 mths of the birth though so I must have needed it

I have decided to get a double after a long conversation with hubby last night. My DS cant be trusted to stay on buggy board plus they hurt my back. Also if he kicks off I cant just pick him up and march on as I would have done with DD because of my SPD which took 9 mths to go after DS birth. I will also be up and down to school 3 times a day so quite a lot for a just 3 year old. Bless him he's an August baby so will only have been 3 for 2 weeks when he starts nursery at school every day (uniform and everything - blub!)

Welcome to the newbies. It's so exciting having your first. Make the most of just enjoying it every kick etc and being treated as special as in my experience you don't get the chance to do that again!

Gillyan · 13/01/2009 20:59

Welcome rhubarb and bellybaba Congrats

I don't understand how to update the due date list but keep meaning to say mine is now 9th July not 7th - sure it doesn't make much difference.

becca My eating habits sound exactly like yours.

I'm definatley getting hungrier and keep wanting more and more food.

15 weeks almost and MS definately went a few weeks ago

Like some of you have said, tiredness is still a prob and falling asleep in afternoons when I'm not woeking.

Absolutley hating my job at the moment and cannot wait to go on maternity leave!

I've been referred to see an Obstetric Physiotherapist as having severe pains in my lower back which doc thinks is something to do with my sciatic nerves - nice! It's not all the time but when it comes on it wrecks.

My bump had suddenly sprouted and I look very pregnant!

Someone asked - My DD is 3 on 25/01 and yes it's a handful being pregnant and having a toddler.

Hope eveyone is okay as always

xxxx

hi all sorry not on too much but dh away with work 11 month old teething, me at work full time so not much spare time.

Am nearly 16 weeks i think and had to tell work today as something happened that meant i couldnt not tell them.

Have put on half a stone nearly i think, had only just (well nearly) got down to my pre pregnancy weight for number 1 although am hoping not to put on so much this time as was sick the whole 9 months and this time not nearly so sick and also last time really went off vegetables of all sort wanted pasta and potatoes while at the moment want fruit orange juice and salad type stuff - weird huh.

glad to see everyone doing so well, have been feeling little movements for past week but not surprised seeing the rate the little legs were kciking at the 12 week scan.

anyway must go

evening! just been trying to get the jist of recent convos on here...
maternity clothes i brought a pair of topshop ones which are PANTS i have washed them once and the elastic inserts and bits on the inside are startng to fray and bobble and they dont stay up! think i will be going back to h&m to get some ones that have elastic panel over the belly they were great! not like the next ones i also brought that slide down!

beccabump i have no idea how bad spd can be but i had sciatica so bad in last pregnnacy i couldnt sit on the toilet to wee i had to straddle and aim...not great when you cant see over belly! it started at about 5 months last time but i am in agony already!

pushchairs my dd will be 2.4 when this one is born, have decided i really dont want big pram as i live in a village and to get on the bus will be a nightmare. dd at the minute wants to walk evryewhere so was thinking of getting somwthing like the silver cross dazzle (which i have had before!) as it is suitable from birth, but take a sling with me and when dd gets tired put her in the buggy and baby in the sling. or may get a cheap double for when out for the day i just cant deicide but need to start saving soon as we're not the richest at present!
weight ive not put any on yet, but my intake of rubbish food has gone down! saying that ive now developed a taste for dairylea and crisp butties yum yum!
had my OB appointment monday but like i said on friday situation seemed to have cleard up. OB said its not common but around the 12 week mark it has been known for womens cervixs' to drop due to all the growing, but like it has with me its sorted itself out!

ooh bloody hell its gone up twice!

bellybaba · 13/01/2009 21:12

Hello annd thanks for all your welcomes.
Had my booking today and it was so funny listening to baby's heart beat. I'm 14+5 today and I am impressed with my midwife finding it.
Lastbox, I'm having difficulty with clothes too. Nothing but my jeans fit me. Even my big skirts! I did end up buying a few maternity tops but I can't seem to find any decent maternity trousers or jeans just yet. They're either too big or too long. I'm quite loathe at the moment to buy any maternity wear anyway as It's that in between stage isn't it? Think I will have to relent and just go shopping.
Is anyone still feeling sick? I'm just waiting and waiting for my nausea to go. eurgh....

naturopath · 13/01/2009 23:22

hello all - haven't been on here for ages. Glad to see ms etc. subsiding.
Nicky6 - I think you're having a boy. With my ds I was eating all kinds of healthy salads but this time I have gone completely off vegetables. My sil had the same - when pg with her dd she couldn't stand veggies, but could with her ds.

Anyone else with similar experiences to confirm my theory that I'm having a girl??

I'm glad everyone else is huge - I don't know what happened - I feel massive! am wearing a few mat clothes but still ok with most things - maybe because I always wear low-slung or have reverted to my empire-line baggy tops..?

hi everyone. i will be 12 weeks tomorrow but still no scan date. am going to call the midwife this afternoon just to make sure i havent been forgotten about! very impatient to see that there is actually a baby and i'm just not getting fat!

i have a maternity skirt from blooming marvellous on today. my lovely friend gave it to me. the zips are still up at the sides but i cant get into any of my ordinary skirts. think i am going to have to invest in a proper maternity work suit but i'm loathe to do it.

I can just about fit into my normal jeans but lovely friend also gave me pair of next maternity jeans which ive started wearing. dont think you can go wrong with next really and m-in-l got me some nice maternity tops from there for xmas. i do have quite a few smock type tops anyway so been wearing them alot too.

got to work yesterday and promptly threw up in the waste paper bin next to my desk. stuck it out for another hour but in the end phoned my mum to come get me and felt very sorry for myself the rest of the day! does anyone else's ms come with a stinking headache. it feels like i have the mother of all hangovers without having done anything to deserve it!

feeling ok again today. i think my ms kicks in when i have let myself get over tired. just wish i could hibernate for the next month or so!

not sure what i am going to do about pram. DS will be 3 years 9 months when this baby arrives and i dont drive. think i will have to go for buggy board because he isnt that great a walker and tends to say "mummy, my legs have run out of walking" after about 5 minutes.

hope everyone has a lovely day..
xx

Morning
Just catching up on all the buggy talk and with DD and DS (22 months apart) we got the Phil and Teds which was a godsend. It was still narrow enough to get into shops and buses and had a portable carrycot so I could pop baby anywhere easily when we went to friends' homes.

DD will be 25months apart from the new little bean I am cooking now so will use it again. It is heavier to steer than a normal buggy so does take some getting used to.

I also have a sling and a lightweight pushchair and buggy board from my previous 2 so for short runs will use that.

Thank goodness I am stopping at 3! What do you ladies with more do? Strap on heads, hips etc?

MS still lurking which is bugging me. It is hits me after lunch up until dinner but is just nausea and not actual sick. Thank goodness.

Doesn't stop me eating biscuits though.

Phoenix · 14/01/2009 10:11

Can't remember who said it but i'm really hating work too. I've even done my letter to apply for my maternity leave, now i know how long i get. When is everyone planning to start there's?

BonzoDoodah · 14/01/2009 10:51

hey beccabump my DD went up to the next room from the baby room just after Christmas too. I am so relieved that she seems to love it even more! She virtually skips in there in the morning and seems so happy. There are less children in this new room (only 2 on monday due to chickenpox)and it seems a bit lighter and arier. It's such a relief when they like it isn't it.
Sorry about your SPD but the yoga sounds good - I may start doing it - there are classes on a saturday that I can try to get to (hubby being willing and all). I only managed a few last time before the baby arrived but hought it was super.

BonzoDoodah · 14/01/2009 10:58

Ohh and I keep meaning to ask - does anyone know where you can get a decent elasticated belt (the big wide ones) that hold your belly in and your trousers up? I'm large so need a big-un!

lastboxoftampons · 14/01/2009 11:16

congrats, Bonzo that's fab news!
Do you mean an actual belt or one of those belly-band thingys? They have the bellybands in New Look - 3 for £10
