Thanks Kay!!! Why dont you and DH have an early night tonight that may help get things going... he he

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 09/12/2008 20:46

Hi!

LB - happy birthday for tomorrow

Diege - yay for scan and Gin's bones

NJ - glad if home. I guess it's a question of wait and see. Hope DS has enjoyed his extended birthday!

I'm still feeling v sorry for myself and am quite ill. Temperature has been raised now nearly 48hrs and I'm off my food. Anything I do try and eat comes back up. In the last 48hrs the only thing I've kept down is an apple. Paracetamol help slightly but only when they stay down.

I'm now starting to worry about this affecting the baby. I know I shouldn't have looked but google says high temperature in pg has been linked to the baby having emotional problems and ADHD. Also lack of food can't be great.

Sorry - maybe I'm being paranoid and over tired too.

WWYD though? I doubt GP will be able to do anything but should I get myself checked out? Or would you just rest and let nature take it's course?

LaTourEiffel · 09/12/2008 20:53

Evening all

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi, and thanks to NJ and Kay for kind texts too - my phone died whilst I was in hospital which wasn't very helpful! I stayed in overnight and only got out this afternoon, have been tucked up in bed since then feeling somewhat battered and bruised.

I'm hoping that a good nights sleep will go a considerable way towards helping with that though.

Diege, really pleased for your good scan, LBOT, not long till you get yours.

NJ, glad you're home and have a plan, Tink, I'm trying to keep up with all your shopping - I really am.......

LaTourEiffel · 09/12/2008 20:57

Sorry Ses, I spent so long catching up I forgot to refresh before posting, so missed yours....I would say get checked up. He might be able to make you feel better by giving your meds or if not, by at least giving you reassurance?

I wouldn't worry too much about the effect of high temp just yet - I would imagine most of us would have had ADHD children if it was after a couple of days of raised temperature as so many women get ill when pg due to supressed immune system...just focus on getting your temperature down - strip off for starters, and try drinking cool drinks perhaps? Same as you would do for a child with a temperature....

lardybump · 09/12/2008 20:57

ses try not to worry about not eating. You would have built up stores that your body will now be using to feed you and baby. Some women go months without eating properly with MS and still go onto have normal babies. Just make sure you keep up with the fluids as you will dehydrate very quickly

My friend was very ill in her pregnancy and had a high fever for 3 weeks and her baby is fine so dont worry about that either. Just do all you can to keep it as low as poss.

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 09/12/2008 21:05

Thanks LaTour and LB - that is reassuring and common sense rather than stupid google.

LaTour - glad you're home and all went well. Hope those painkillers do the trick and you manage to get back to normal soon.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 09/12/2008 21:35

Get well soon Ses

Glad all well LaTour

Happy Birthday for tomorrow LB

Starshinetiger · 09/12/2008 21:59

LaTour, glad you're home and the op went well. Hope you are getting bed rest and that the discomfort will ease soon.

Ses, sorry you are feeling so ill, I hope you feel better soon. Have no experience, but am sure that Latour and LB are right and it won't impact the baby.

So, I have my GP appt (25 weeks) tomorrow - not until 4.45pm and I'm going straight from work. Is it okay to do my wee sample in morning and then leave it in car during day to take to surgery? Or, do I need to do it closer to appt and therefore do it at work? Am sure the ansewr is it probably doesn't matter, but considering I forgot my notes and sample for my last midwife appt at 16 weeks am concerned to make sure I don't get it wrong again and come across as a completely useless individual!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/12/2008 06:09

Morning

LaTour, so glad all is well, I've really found it it difficult to stay in touch the last few days properly but your friend's texts have been really good and it is lovely to see you back here so soon! Just think, nothing but a bit of healing time stands in your way now Whooooo hoooooooooooo

Star, I think the wee sample would be OK, but TBH the fresher the better, if you can do it at work, or even at the surgery if that feels better, it might be an idea to.

Kay, dare I even ask? Not sure... How friendly are you feeling today? If you're feeling nice, I might ask, if you are being a very pregnant ogre bit erm... fed up, I won't ask OK? Oh I can't not ask..... any news?

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 10/12/2008 07:33

Morning. Sorry for my insane out of proportion ramblings last night. I think my temperature is down this morning but still feeling sick and haven't even tried to eat anything! Mouth is v dry and think I'm a bit dehydrated. Trying to sip water but even that is making me feel sick!

Enough though!

NJ - glad you're starting to get back to normal but take it easy.

Kay - it's the 10th....!

LBOT - I know exactly what you mean about waiting in that room. Could you explain to them and wait somewhere else? I know at my hospital they have 2 separate rooms and I was grateful that this time round I went to the other room.

Glask - if you're lurking, hope you feel better soon.

Diege - are you still grinning? Really pleased for you!

kayzisexpecting · 10/12/2008 07:48

Morning,

Hello LaTour, nice to see you home. Glad everything is ok. Now plenty of rest young lady!!!

Ses, Sorry you are still feeling ill. I agree with the high temp. You need to have a high temp for a very long time before it affects mini Ses. But I would see your gp just to see if they can give you something to make you better quicker.

No baby, I do think I might have leaked some fluid but I'm not 100% sure. I had loads of people telling me on Monday that 2nd babies are always early(yeah right). It will come on Saturday evening once Dad has gone.

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 10/12/2008 08:34

Am off out, catch up later.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 10/12/2008 08:35

Mornnig All

Glad to hear that everyone is a bit cheerier today Glad you are feeling better Nat (hope you are still resting!) and Ses hope the temp stays down.

Following my miracle osteo treatment last Friday Im now hobbling again... but back again on Friday this week for another session so hopefully it will improve again.

Though the good news is that Im now only doing 2ds per week in the office, rest working at home and i feel so much better for the extra rest and reduced commuting. Actually doing things around house - suspect the nesting instinct is starting to appear...

Very me me me there!

Off to get some breakfast.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 10/12/2008 08:47

Happy birthday LB . Was thinking you're the only one of us who seems to have reached the blooming stage! Hope you have a lovely day (and you are not old ).

Thank you all so much for your good wishes after my scan - I crashed out late afternoon, after being awake from 3am the night before, heart pounding, so didn't manage to get back on. First night last night without nightmare (well, my dream was trying to find a dress for my dad in the m&s sale )so long may it continue! Next scan at 19 weeks 2 days, consultant tomorrow .
SES, please don't worry about high temp. As long as you stay hydrated baby will be fine. I had vicious food poisoning for 2.5 weeks when pregnant with dd2, extremely high temps, dr not concerned as long as I could keep fluids down. Don't worry - the placentas there for a reason!
NAT, sounds a hard day ; seriously though, you deserve some rest. I would be seriously pis*ed off with bookcase saga. Hope you can get some answers today.
KAY yoo hoo..it's labout day . Presume you are getting things ready as we speak?
LATOUR - great news that you're hope and recovering. Not long till ttc-ing for you lady!
Hello to everyone else! Still all recovering from bug here (hope you're on the mend GLASK), though slowly getting better I think.

kayzisexpecting · 10/12/2008 08:48

I'm watching GMTV and they are in New York in a huge toy shop!!! I want to go!!!

It has been nearly 6 years since I went to NY, might try to persuade DH we want to go there for our anniversary. Don't know if I'll be able to leave DS's though.

kayzisexpecting · 10/12/2008 09:03

Poor Glask is still really ill. She was up being sick and has a really bad migraine.

Hopefully she'll get better soon.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 10/12/2008 09:19

Never mind toy shops in New York KAY, let's hear about your contractions . How far apart are they now???
Poor GLASK Please send her my best wishes if you are in touch - she must be feeling rotten.

kayzisexpecting · 10/12/2008 09:21

What contractions? There aren't any, I'm sorry Diege but I don't think he'll be here today.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 10/12/2008 09:36

Hmmm, Ok then....at least it will keep your MIL off your back

kayzisexpecting · 10/12/2008 09:39

He is hiccuping does that count?
