SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 08/12/2008 11:14

Morning all.
I second passing the feeling good round (although I think Nat gets first dibs). I've only just got out of bed and didn't sleep well at all. Cough, snot, throat all got worse combined with a headache so feeling v sorry for myself. Phoned in sick and am going to take it v easy in bed/ on the sofa today.

Nat - hope your shower went ok. Can understand your thoughts around CS but I guess Gin has a point so see how the next few days go.

Kay - am I right in thinking your Dad is visiting today?

Diege - if you're lurking, thinking of you. Not sure what time your scan is tomorrow but it's not long now. Don't forget Gin's bones...!

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 11:18

Wooooo!!! Scan says that baby is in the right place!!

Sorky, I do get a lot of pain in my lower back overnight, but the majority of the pain is in my pelvis. It feels like it is pulling in half. I can hardly walk this morning and I have to struggle to the consultant this afternoon.

Nat, I hope that the shower went ok. I hope you get better soon so you can go home. Also that you either get your cs or you feel well enough to go through labour.

I am really tired, I might see if I can get a nap before I go to the consultant. I don't see why I even need to go. He only does the same as the MW anyway.

lastboxoftampons · 08/12/2008 11:19

Oh, Nat I'm really sorry that the mw brushed you off. But I think there's probably some truth in what LG&T is saying. A CS is major surgery and you should be fit before it.

Storky So glad to hear you're feeling so much better! It must feel like you're a different person.

kat hang in there, we're all pulling for you!

Ses Glad to hear you're showing That's so exciting! And that your coffee table arrived!

Gruff So sorry to hear about your dad Mine has to go for some tests and I was thinking about him last night and started crying in bed - I really find it hard when the people around me start getting older and a bit more vulnerable.

Diege Hope dd is feeling better

I think I'm having the strangest ms known to man It started on Thursday, I think. So far it's been the worst in the morning, but tapers off around 11:30 - 12 and then again at night when I'm going to bed. It's not constant, I've had a few "oh, no" moments, but haven't been sick yet. I was in the shower this morning and I was using this yummy vanilla shower gel. I really like the smell, so I had a sniff, and it nearly made me wretch. I thought I would have aversions to things that made me sick, why am I wanting to smell something even though I know once I do it will make me feel horrible!?!? this is definitely not how I imagined this!! Anyway, good news is I'm 7 weeks today!

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 11:35

X-posts there.

My Dad is coming tomorrow. Travelling first class no less!! Ooooooh, he keeps gloating about it. It worked out cheaper for him to travel on Tuesday in first class than it would have if he came today in normal class. Wierd!!!

Ses, sorry you are feeling ill. Everyone seems to have a bug lately. Glask's DD is really ill so Glask isn't going to be able to come on today.

LBOT, I was like that with DS. I didn't really feel sick at all unless I smelt certain things. Mine were mint and these chinese chicken drumsticks we had at work. Yay for 7 weeks!!!

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 08/12/2008 11:51

There's so much going around. I'm trying to just accept it but I stupidly feel like I'm letting work down. Then I try and do something and find I can't breathe or start coughing my guts up. Sorry for moaning - I know Nat would probably give anything to swap places with me.

V bizarre for your Dad's train tickets! Maybe it's because it's Monday today and lots of people travel on a Monday??!

LBOT - 7 weeks and sickness. All good!!!

Poor Glask's DD as well. I really hope everyone's bugs clear up soon.

Playingthe9monthwait · 08/12/2008 11:56

Hi all,

Havent had time to catch up properly, was away on Friday at my DH's grandads funeral and am pretty busy this morning. Just quickly logged in to see if everyone was ok.

Nat - sorry to hear that you are so poorly. You really haven't had any luck have you? Try and rest and get well.

Glad to see that osteo apts seem to be doing some good. Got mine tomorrow, so I am hoping it will make all the difference. Plus I have also discovered that if I lie on my thick feather duvet (as if it was a mattress) that I can almost get comfy in bed!

Right, sorry if I missed anything else important but I have to go and work now. Will try to come back on later and catch up properly.

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 15:54

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

The ruddy consultant has just tried to stop me having a home birth. I don't have the facilities for a EMCS at home(surprise surprise) and that my life and the baby's could be at risk. I'm also quite far away from the hospital. But the MLU I was going to have him at doesn't do epidurals or CS's. It is also about the same distance from Scarborough but along a different road. So I don't see the bloody problem. I told him I was not going to give up my HB.

On a brighter note, DH got his xmas vouchers so we are going to get some shopping.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 08/12/2008 16:26

Hello everyone,
Really quiet here today.

Kay- Yay for baby being in right place but sorry to hear what consultant said. Is the distance the real issue? surely no one has EMCS facilitites!

Tink- great to hear your DD was so good as an elf. Bet she was very cute

Nat- think we need a hospital wing in the wagon itself so we can tend to your needs and provide mars bars (ses) and wispas (Tink) I will make the tea... [hfmmm] serisouly sorry you are so poorly... hope things improve quickly wiht bed rest. Thinking of you

Ses- saving you seat in the sick wagon too hope you are better for day of rest.

Sorky- so inspired to here that you are feeling fab- im waiting for that day to come I hope balls (birthing!) do help since i've just bought a massive one that takes up all the lounge and wont go through the doorways at my house...

Gruff- Glad your dad seems ok. Must be awful worry though. Lovely buggy... doesnt it look like the bugaboo bee! and sooo much cheaper.. might investigate

LBOT- wondered where you'd gone ! glad to hear about the MS- always encouraging! Mine was weird like that and came and went. worse about 10am to lunchtime, better after lunch then bad about 5pm... was never sick so hope you are luck to escape the vomiting too...

Hi Cosmo!
Diege- good luck with the scan! thinking of you...
Hi everyone else

PHEW- hope not missed anything (that was only supposed to be a short post to say hi to kay and bugger about the consultant! )

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 08/12/2008 16:54

hi kay - sorry that con didnt go to well
ya for vouchers

hi gyo - she did look cute she is being a devil @ the mo

right question

the vertbaudet bedside lamp i ordered only takes 10 w will that be bright enough for dd to read with?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 08/12/2008 17:01

Lovely lamp Tink

Gosh no idea if thats bright or not. Would ahve thought a bedside lamp would be but maybe its intended as night light instead.

Then I've no idea what watt a normal bedside lamp is. Mine have weird energy saving bulbs (drive me crazy!)

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 08/12/2008 17:02

Maybe look on argos to see what their lamps are?

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 08/12/2008 17:11

Hello! Sorry, not managed to catch up or even get on computer today as have been in bed with vomiting bug. Poor dh has had to take day off to look after me and dd3. Just hoping I'm well enough to attend scan tomorrow. It's at 9.45 so will post asap after - if I can get there! Thanks for all your good wishes xxx

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 08/12/2008 17:14

oh Diege- sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed all ok for tomorrow...

GOod luck.

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 18:07

Diege, I am really sorry. Have a sneaky !

I really hope you will be well enough for tomorrows scan.

Glask has got her DC's bug and is also ill in bed.

I had some tightenings while walking round Morrisons, so maybe it is the start of something[hopeful smiley]

I am having this baby at home. The consultant can bugger off. There is no reason for me to have to go to hospital. My pregnancy isn't classed as high risk.

largeginandtonic · 08/12/2008 18:29

Kay stick with it am uber proud of you. It will all be fine and just remember consultants never say a HB is ok.

Diege thinking of you tomorrow my sweet, it will all be ok

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 18:33

I don't think I have much choice really. I think I am having contractions. But I'm not too sure if its just BH's.

storkycake · 08/12/2008 18:41

Where the friggin hell does he expect you to get an EMCS....ARGOS!?!?! the nob

Good for you Kay, you stick it out and wiggle those hips

Sending you powerful, hurty (but productive) thoughts.

Diege I hope you feel better for your scan.

Can't remember anything else, sorry. Gyo I have discovered that if I take pain killers at 2pm I can manage until nearly 5pm. Then it's only an hour tops until Dh is home.
That's good enough for me

kayzisexpecting · 08/12/2008 18:48

I do think this could be the start of things. I hope I get to have dinner first. Its Spag Bol and I love Spag Bol.

GruffaloSoldier · 08/12/2008 18:52

Hello everybody!

Sorry for more bugs, Diege, Glask

Boo to consultant Kay!

My Dad came out of hospital today so that is a relief! I have been very achey today in hips and just under my ribs and baby has been kicking all day too.

Gyo- def look into the pushchair if you like the look of it. I love it and have been pushing it around the flat with looks from DH It is an absolute bargain - my Mum has bought it for us which was why it was also really important for me to get a reasonably priced one.

Sorry if I missed anyone. Mondays aren't great for my memory!

GruffaloSoldier · 08/12/2008 18:53

oh yes Kay - Im getting v'excited for you too Keep us updated

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 08/12/2008 18:56

any more thoughts on this table lamp ladies
would a 10 w bulb be sufficent for dd to read with?
www.vertbaudet.co.uk/baby-nursery-maternity-clothes/Girls-Bedside-lamp.aspx?ProductId=V703193019&Doc umentId=V389&CompanyId=V&Path=2823/2895&source=

do they mean to put in a low energy bulb?

wanted just enough light for dd to read with when she wakes up without disturbing the baby

if people think not will exchange for this lamp instead

storkycake · 08/12/2008 18:57

Ooh sounds promising Kay

You'll have to stay online until he's waving at you...it's a new Wagon rule...isn't it girls?

Hello Gruff..good news about your dad

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 08/12/2008 19:02

Ooh Kay - exciting! Keep us posted as and when you can!

Diege - hope your bug clears up. Not what you need. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Poor Glask too!

As for me, DH is just home and reckons it's flu. I'm afraid I agree with him as I've hardly been out of bed all day, have a temperature and was sick earlier as well as usual cold symptoms. He's just made me some hot ribena so I'll try that and a couple of paracetamol. DH wants me to check baby's hb too which is only making me throw all logic out the window and worry! Will get Doppler out later.

Hi everyone else!
