X-post GYo,

Morning.

My back isn't too bad thanks. It does seem to be worse during the night so it keeps me awake or if I sit on the sofa with my legs crossed. I do have to keep forcing myself to sit with my feet on the floor.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 07/12/2008 11:12

Morning! Sending out labour vibes for you today KAY!!
Morning GYO - how are things with you? Poor dd3's bug is really affecting her - sick in night, twice this morning, and not even keeping calpol down . Dh has taken older dds out to MIL, so will have to wrap her up and take down to village to buy present for the party the older two are going to this afternoon. Seems like a mammoth task after not being out for weeks, so will hopefully keep it short and sweet!

Happy birthday for ds NAT! Hope the day is as good as can be under the circumstances, and that you are able to get home soon xx

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 07/12/2008 11:52

Morning!

Diege - poor dd3 Good luck going down to the village. Hoep you find something nice and easily.

Kay - I kind of want to do something to help your labour today. I guess good vibes and thoughts are all I can do (unless you can think of anything else?!)

Having stayed out of the sick wing of the wagon for weeks now, I seem to have developed a cough and a bit of a snotty nose. Coughed up some lovely phlegm this morning with a bit of blood in it that also then made me sick Just feel like taking it easy today and doing as little as possible. Sure I'll survive though! Maybe that means I'll be around lurking when Kay goes into labour???!!

I did go out last night (so can't be that ill!) and had a good time. My friends decided I definitely looked pg now. DH was staying away after his do last night so I'm waiting for him to emerge from his hangover and come home!

storkycake · 07/12/2008 12:33

Back still holding nicely Gyo, thanks for asking Glad to hear you're doing well too.

Ses you can have my spot on the wagon sick bay
I think the baby has moved down because I'm not getting heartburn anymore which is delightful.

I had a glass of rose last night and vomited it all back, so no alcohol for me from now on, still not long to go.

Lansinoh cream is half price in Sainsburys atm £4.95.
Their maternity pads and breast pads are also half price, so I stocked up on the pads at 10 for 87p!!
Sainsburys also have half price baby wipes atm, 'Simple' wipes (ones we use) are about 70p per pack. All brands are reduced though.

Just trying to figure out which baby bottles to use for expressed bm feeding. There's bloody loads to choose from!

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 07/12/2008 13:12

Thanks Storky!
Great that your back and heartburn have both improved but shame about the alcohol.
Good tip on the Lansinoh cream

DH is now back and putting the coffee table together. He wants me to go to the supermarket but I'm being a woos and don't want to go. Think I'll try and have something to eat and then think about going...

kayzisexpecting · 07/12/2008 16:10

OWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

I can hardly move. I can't believe how bloody painful SPD is. I can't sit down, lie down or walk around. The only way I get comfy is to sit with my legs crossed, which is probably doing more damage.

I am worried that it is going to make labour a lot more painful or longer.

Storky, does it tend to go away after having the baby or is it a long term thing?

LaTour has her operation tomorrow. She is a bit nervous bless her so I said we'd all be thinking of her tomorrow.

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying their Sundays.

kayzisexpecting · 07/12/2008 17:12

News from Nat.

They are keeping her in for another day as he blood results show the infection has got worse despite all the IV antibiotics she has had. So its not looking too good at the minute.

I've told her we're all thinking of her.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 07/12/2008 17:27

Evening everyone

So quiet on here today!

Things are good thanks for asking Diege. Osteo has really helped me with back/ SPD problems..

Bump really getting bigger.. so many people keep saying its boy apparently due to shape of it..... why do strangers feel need to comment on bumpshape and baby sex?

Full sympathy for the SPD Kay.. really hope its your body getting ready to push out the baby... have you got lots of snow where you are?

Love the new name Ses...good to be told that you really look pregnant...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 07/12/2008 17:29

ooh thanks for the nat newsfeed Kay...

kayzisexpecting · 07/12/2008 17:46

Yes and No to snow. It all just frozen and really really slippery. Its really hard to get out of our house without ending up on your bum.

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 07/12/2008 18:03

evening

gyo - glad that back is better, people said that about my bump as low and all out front

kay - labour vibes coming over sorry you are in so much pain with your spd.
cheers for nat update poor thing

diege - sorry to hear that dd3 is so ill

hi storky and ses

dhs parents came back this morning to see us and left @ 11:30am.we had a lovely early xmas .we went into town and had lunch is freezing though. had a look in woolies as loads of savings. dd chose some dora pants for being such a good girl all wknd.
bought her some tights in adams as she was in 18 - 24 month ones not long enough

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 07/12/2008 18:05

Hello! Thanks for update KAY. Poor Nat, that doesn't sound good
KAY, I think SPD goes after the birth, but I'm no expert.
GYO good news on the growing bump! The bump-gossipers will always be there I'm afraid, though having said that they do seem to have a radar for first timers
Poor dd3 is still very hot and feverish - think it's one of those things we'll just have to get through - hope she makes it for the xmas play on Tues otherwise they'll have no star to follow!
Right, off for evening, speak tomorrow xx

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 07/12/2008 18:06

x-post TINKS!

storkycake · 07/12/2008 19:47

Hiya everyone

Kay DO NOT CROSS YOUR LEGS, it makes it worse , besides how's the baby gonna get out. Birth ball good to sit on I find, or lean over to ease the weight on your foof.
Labour vibes are being wafted your way

Spd goes for me after the birth. Once the heavy 'my internal organs feel like they're all falling out' sensation goes. It tends to clear up. At 6 weeks I restart pilates, which probably also helps, and by 12 weeks I'm back to running again.

The pain worsens in the last 2 weeks for me when the baby is almost ready to birth, is as heavy as it's gonna be and therefore the strain on that joint is the worst.
Once the strain is gone it eases.

For some it doesn't go or it takes months to resolve, but I have wondered whether that's to do with excess weight acquired through pg.

Glad you had a nice time Tink.

Thanks for the update on Nat. I'm thinking maybe it's a sign her body could do with the pg being over. Thinking of you Nat x

Lucky successful thoughts for tomorrows op LaTour

Aw Diege, the kiddies are dropping like flies everywhere aren't they? Hope Dd recovers to be a 'star' hehehe!

Gyo back is still holding, I'm continuing to take it easy but managed a bit of housework today so feel as if I'm contributing again iyswim Hooray for back doctors!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/12/2008 20:12

evening have decided to brave this stupid bloody key board thing, can't stay away even feeling as bad as i do!

Poor LaTour is trying desparatly to fight off a cold, they won't do the op if she is unwell, so she needs extra fighting thoughts!

thanks for all of the birthday wishes he opened a pressie this morning but we've decided to leave the rest till i'm home. My mum is coming up tomorrow to help dh with the boys so she will be here for the celebrations which will be nice.

sorky i am with you, i get the feeling my body has just had enough, i am seeing the cons tomorrow i can't believe i am even saying this, but i am going to ask for a cs and if he wont agree i have my original cons appt. on tuesday so i will try my luck with him as well. thing is, i've had nearly 2 days of iv ab's and theyve not even started fighting whatever infection it is, so i think it is going to be at least thursday/friday before i start feeling better, thenn it's going to be at least another week just getting back on top of things, that takes me to 38 weeks, even if they induced me then i doubt i could physically cope with labour after this, and i'd only need to get another bug or something off the kids and ill be right back here again. even the thought of a cs scares the shit out of me, but if i tried to labour the chances are it'd end up in emcs anyway, surely planned is better?

storkycake · 07/12/2008 20:19

Hmm it depends on your bloods tbh Nat.
If your white cells are raised, which they will be, your body is already under attack and the section scar won't heal as optimally as would be preferable.

Having said that they might not be happy to allow you to labour naturally if they know you're under par, and besides all that sweetie you've yet to recover from anything fully in the last 6 weeks! Surely a sign they should just check bub is okay and end all this nightmare for you.

GruffaloSoldier · 07/12/2008 20:19

Evening everyone,

Well I am back from Birmingham seeing my Dad. He did have temperature but it had gone today so it looks like he will be out of hospital tomorrow which is good news. It wasnt nice seeing him struggling in and out of bed all wired up Im so glad he's ok then. I cant help but still worry though.

Also some exciting news is that we got our pushchair on Friday! Was such a bargain. We have had our eye on the Bebe Confort Streety and Babies R us had it for 200 then 195 cause of VAT coming off and we also had a voucher so we got it for £185. The main criteria was that we wanted something very light as we live on the 3rd floor with no lift. It weighs 8kg. It is here www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Beb e-Confort-Streety-Travel-System-in-Oxygen-Black(0020831) The pushchair unit is front and rear facing and came with a cosy toes and raincover too. We have also just got the carrycot to go with it off ebay (new) for £55 so we are so chuffed. Carrycot can be used as lie flat car seat too. Result!

Sorry to hear that you are still suffering NJ

Gyo and Storky glad that your backs are both better!

Kay - you still have 3 hours 40 mins for baby to arrive today so I can win the sweepstake

Right I am waiting patiently for apple pie and custard to be delivered to me by DH.

Hope everyone is having a good evening!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/12/2008 20:36

thanks sorky, now i just need enough of my voice back to actually be able to speak to him!

gruff was so sorry to hear about your dad, sound's like he is on the mend now though.

GruffaloSoldier · 07/12/2008 20:57

Thanks Nat,so sorry that you are having to put up with so much still. I think considering a cs is logical and you should def bring it up and just see what they advise. Planned is def better than emergency. Wishing you the speediest recovery!Lots of healthy vibes coming right atcha!

kayzisexpecting · 07/12/2008 21:58

I knew you would say that Storky, but it is the only way it stops hurting. The physio told me to try and avoid using a birth ball as it can make SPD worse.

Nat, sorry you are still really ill. I really hope that they will let you have a cs so you can start to get on the mend.

Gruff, I'm glad your dad is getting better. Great news about the pram.

Sending LaTour illness free thoughts. Hopefully she'll be much better in the morning.

Well nothing is happening here. I have my presentation scan in the morning which I am looking forward too. It'll be nice to see him, though it would be nicer to see him in the flesh. Just remembered I have a consultant appointment tomorrow afternoon. So I need to struggle there with DS, probably still in all this really bad ice on my own. DH is at work until 3 so can't come with me. So I am really not looking forward to it.

Anyway I'll shut up.

Night.

Cosmogirl · 08/12/2008 08:48

Morning,

Visiting my mum and dad in Cambs this weekend and braving starting the Xmas shopping, so just catching up.

Nat - hope talk with consultant goes well. You are having such a rough time of it I can completely understand your logic about the CS, though it isn't what you would have wanted originally.

Gruff - sorry to hear about your dad, but glad he seems to be doing well now. I will take a look at the pram link later. We think we are set on the Britax Vigour 3 or 4 + but quite a lot at £360 for the set of pushchair, car seat, carry cot, cosy toes and raincover. My parents (bless them) offered to buy it for us. Feel bad as it is quite a lot of money for them.

Have midwife appt tonight for bump measuring and then reach the 6 month milestone tomo - hurrah!

storkycake · 08/12/2008 09:17

Physio talking crap imo.

My birthing ball was fab and all I sat on for the last two kids' pg. Have asked Dh to inflate it again this weekend.

My SPD is caused by an anterior tilt on the right of my pelvis. Sitting on the birth ball makes me more aware of my posture thus stopping me moving into a position where it will start to hurt iyswim.

Also leaning over the ball took the weight off my pelvis on a night whilst watching TV.

Where is the pain Kay? Is it your lower back? I'm wondering if you might be in pre-labour....

storkycake · 08/12/2008 09:18

Feeling fab again today, finally the blooming stage!

largeginandtonic · 08/12/2008 10:02

Oh Nat! You do NOT NEED a c section, especially if you have had a bug and are run down. It is the last thing they will want to do, your body has to work so much harder to get over that. It is major surgery my love and you need to be fighting fit before they do it.

What you need to do is rest and get better, hopefully the infection is viral and the antibiotics are a precaution. If it is viral your body will start fighting back soon. The baby is fine in there, he is well prtected. If he comes out while you still feel crap it will be worse. I know how horrid it all is but you must hang in there. Oly a few weeks left, get better and it will all be ok

Kay at you still being here >

My SPD is deffo worse after i have been sat on the birthing bal, i can only manage 10 minutes before my pelvis is creaking under the pain.

LB you will be fine if you are 30 weeks, the doc said under 12 weeks is bad (like contracting rubella) under 20 weeks not great still a small risk to the baby but over 22-24 weeks all fine as baby is just getting bigger not developing as such. You should be totally fine

Storky glad the osteo worked! They are magic

I am all puffy today, well my fingers and arms anyway. Tis a bit odd, normally i get puffy ankles at the end but have had to take my rings off! I feel tight iykwim? My BP is normally 90/50, not sure if i should phone the midwife or not. Could just be the girl hormones?

The twins are home sick today, will the illness ever end!!!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/12/2008 10:11

morning

hoorah for feeling good sorky, pass it round will you?!

spoke to mw about the cs just to see what her take is on it, told her evrything that has gone on, the no movements, the low waters, the kidney infection, the viral thing and now this bloody flu and whatever else, i said i've had enough, and the baby can't be far off having enough, and that i am terrified of the next thing going wrong incase it's something proper serious, she basically laughed me off saying give it a week till i'm feeling better and see if i still want a cs then, and she said there is no way we can know something bad will happen. then she felt my tummy and the baby has moved to transverse she finished her 'you are a mad woman' speach with, you can only ask them, see what they say.

i am going to attempt a shower, not sure how it will go, ive not stood up alone for days! wish us luck
