Thanks for offer of shared choc! even if you dont have any...

Its definately a bit scary meeting internet people. Not really sure why though...

Will have to do the "i'll be wearing a long coat and red hat" bit.... to avoid embarrasment though you can probably spot pregnant wagoners a mile off, with choc bar wrappers falling out of pockets...

Will be good though!

GruffaloSoldier · 03/12/2008 15:19

Haha yes! Although I do have a pic on my profile of my Gruffalo face so you can get the gist. We should have a laugh though and come waving wispas or mars!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/12/2008 15:31

PMSL... visions of chocolate fest....

I should sort out a photo online. Kind of scared re RL connections.... silly I know!

Playingthe9monthwait · 03/12/2008 15:39

OOOOO, can I come too? I want to put faces to names!!! I can bring chocolate too

GruffaloSoldier · 03/12/2008 15:51

Yes Playing, you are part of the Surrey/Hampshire clan especially if you bring chocolate!

Then if GYo turns out to be a loon you can protect me

Playingthe9monthwait · 03/12/2008 15:58

safety in numbers and all that

OK, well while you lot are deciding on a meet up, I have something going on here, not sure what to do...

Had a bit of a doze on the sofa, while DS2 was still asleep, woke up with big big big contraction, didn't think much of it other than 'cor that was a big'un' went for a wee and I have had a bloody show, have had shows a few times with big contractions, but not bloody ones, contractions are now every 12 mins or so but not painful, just tight.

Have been wondering around the house all afternoon staying away from here but am giving in now, I need someone to pat me on the head and say "there there, don't panick till his heads coming out" please!

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 16:19

My midwife appt's are all now moved to a Friday so that Dh can take me and look after the kids whilst I'm there.
Still not sure how I'll get to the clinic room, but we'll give it a shot.

Nat I asked the m/w about the episode last night, but she had no answers at all. Just checked that I knew to go to hospital if anything transpires, which I would do.
Wondering now if it might be baby either engaging or turning or something as it was relatively short-lived.

See what happens eh?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:21

I said (didn't I? I meant to) I had the exact same thing with DS2, I rang my mum (as you do...) and she said she had it when we all engaged, and sure enough he had engaged. If they slip in quite far quite quickly should imagine it can put pressure on lots of blood supplies and your body would just go into mild shock.

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 16:23

x posts NJ

Ooh, a bloody show is rather serious. Ring hospital see what they say.

dc3 had a bloody show on due date, but I didn't have him until 3 days later. Came out due to pre-labour, so you could be gearing up for birth soon.

If you are in pre-labour Nat he'll come very quickly when labour starts proper, but you know that right.

See what they say...

You're too early!!

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 16:25

don't be answering me woman, get on the bloody phone.

but yes I think it might be engaging, as bump is low and walking is extremely painful over last 2-3 days. Thanks NJ

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 16:25

Could you ring your MW and see what she says Nat?
Obviously it could be the IU being a PITA or it could be real labour. Its best to just double check.

Sorky, You couldn't do me a little list of things I need for a HB could you. I am going to get some big plastic sheets but not sure what else I really need.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:26

Am waiting to see if the contractions get any stronger or closer together, DH is only 40 mins away this afternoon (have checked in my mad-woman-thinks-shes-in-labour-but-knows-shes-not- kind of way)

It is a bit on the early side.

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 16:28

On my last AN thread we had a saying or abbreviation..

KNUF (knitting needles up fanjo)

The only way to describe the shooting pains up inside and through pelvis

I now have them so I think that would make sense Nat.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:29

T'is still early for you to be engaged though Sorky, keep an eye on it.

Am not ringing MW till he's hanging out, am not going back till I know I'm not coming home without a baby! LOL I am mad brave me!

Buy a cheap duvet to go over the plastic sheeting, that way you can lie down on it either during the birth or after (if you wanted to) without slipping and getting cold. Also line the sofa/chair with plastic and a quilt.

GruffaloSoldier · 03/12/2008 16:32

Hope everythings ok Nat. At least DH isnt too far away.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:32

Am going to go ignore contractions clear up a bit, they del'ed the washer dryer this morning, DH came home at lunch and has plumbed it in, but all the mess is everywhere, I was going to leave it because the old washer is in the middle of the kitchen floor and I can barely get round it, but it is starting to get my nerves!

Am rambling, and am also gone!

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 03/12/2008 16:36

evening

could all be holding red roses, have dark glass, trilby hat and long grey mac lol

ohh nat hope all ok keep an eye on them

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 16:39

I hope they clear up Nat. No queue jumping now

I'm going to get a cheap duvet tomorrow and some cheap towels.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:42

Erm.... think I'm leaking waters again, felt a bit damp, went to check to see if it was more show, no gloop, just wetness.

FWIW, I have no intention of queue jumping, not unless you do make it till xmas day because I want him out before xmas, but not quite yet!

Think the doc will let me muscle in on DS1's appt.?

sorkycake · 03/12/2008 16:45

Nat you have ring the m/w now or face a potential BBA. Not saying go in, just strongly advising you to ring them.

I've got a list somewhere Kay, lost my internet connection for a couple of minutes and couldn't reply. Will have a look for you.

OP posts:
GruffaloSoldier · 03/12/2008 16:47

what is BBA?

kayzisexpecting · 03/12/2008 16:47

Ring the MW now!!!
Or I'll do it. I know you live on a hill near Manchester Airport. Oh how vague!!

Thanks Sorky.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/12/2008 16:48

Contractions are if anything easing off (last one was 15 mins gap), will give it an hour see if any more waters.

I haven't shaved my legs since the weekend, I can't go yet!
