DETSY wow going for the chop is a little drastic. I'm only sending dh for the snip.

MissyK · 15/12/2008 08:41

Morning Ladies!!

I survived the Xmas party & can not start to relaz for a low key family Christmas

Good luck to those who have scans today - mine's at 3:20, very excited!
My mum is coming with us to watch ds, we're asking if he can come in & mum takes him out if he causes any mischief.
The baby moves so much now I think it would be nice for him to be able to see it. (You wait it'll be sleeping now!)

Read that some of you say you're looking huge, I am, no doubt about it.
I saw someone yesterday to pick up a pram I bought off them, they were that the baby isn't due until the end of April, start of May.. She thought Jan/Feb

Oh well, at least I have a nice handy shelf for resting tea/laptop/book etc...

detsy · 15/12/2008 10:31

Jenn lol - i thought i had that wrong but couldn't think what the right word was!

divedaisy · 15/12/2008 10:51

delightedoldbag34 - Alexander is a great name - my fav for a boy. It is strong, masculine, but also good for a child too. There are some names out there that sound OK on an adults shoulders but on a baby or child are weird!

EmmalinaC, Loobylou36 & MissyK - good luck at your scans today!!! I can't wait for mine to come along - 2 1/2 weeks to go.

My DH did something really nice last night when we were having a cuddle in bed (and it had NOTHING to do with those damn pressies he bought me either!!) - he put his hand on my bump and asked 'How's my wee chum?' I was thrilled because he doesn't normally show this emotion/interest/connection. And he promised he'll be there for the scan - 'I wont miss that one' and is now OK for DS to go to scan too - initilly he didn't think it 'was the place' for a child to go to. Then he said the opposite - 'You're much bigger at this stage than I thought you would be'.... I can still fit into my regular jeans - I have them on today! And buttoned up too! Belly only explodes when I have had my dinner!!

JenstarOfWonder - OH I laughed at the thought of you on all fours face first on a beanbag fast asleep!!! AND for 90 minutes too!! Were your knees not sore when you woke up!!??? This image it great - you have made my morning!!!

As for Christmas shopping - I think I have all mine done. DH told me he doesnt have anything for me except what he's already given me (those pressies, and we each got a new mountain bike through the business) - I've got him 2 CDs and a box of chocs. All he needs to get me is a book or DVD. When in Bulgaria I'll be getting loads of massages etc when DH & DS are on the slopes!

MissyK · 15/12/2008 11:30

Divedaisy Thanks for the good luck wishes

I see you're going to Bulgaria - we go Jan 31st! And like you I can't wait for all my massages etc (and prob too much hot choc) while everyone else is off on the slopes - ahh the peace & quiet and relaxation is going to be bliss...
DH can't understand why I'm so excited when I don't get to ski - little does he know I'll have a batter time than him

EmmalinaC · 15/12/2008 11:39

Morning all! Just back from scan and everything is FINE. In fact this is the first antenatal appointment we've had where they haven't found anything for us to worry about. I am so relieved and very, VERY excited (at last)! It's definitely a girl. Can't stop smiling

Have to dash off to work now but will be back later to cath up properly and see how everyone else got on with their scans. Got my fingers crossed for you all!

Emma I'm so glad for you - Congratulations lovely!

1stMrsF · 15/12/2008 12:05

PMSL at Jen face down on beanbag (although it also sounded strangely attractive...)

Good news Emmalina, I am excited to hear about the others today.

I am at home feeling very ill today (those bl**dy colleagues with their bugs no doubt) - was just about to get on the train to work this morning with DH and I was complaining about feeling sick and dizzy, then just as the train pulled into the platform everthing went white and I lost my hearing - didn't quite faint but a bit scary. I said 'I can't get on the train!' and bless him he just held onto me and said it was OK. Got some water and ate a banana and waited for the next train but by the time it came I didn't feel much better so he went off to work late and I walked slowly home. Now keeping the sofa warm and drinking lots of lime squash hoping it's just pregnancy and not anything else horrible.

SweetBROODY · 15/12/2008 12:24

I'm back at the moment - dad had a emergancy Triple Bypass - which thankfully went well.. This was followed with post op complications so I have been seriously stressed out - and now the MIL is really annoying me

She's booked a holiday for around my due date and pretended like she had booked it ages ago.. Why offer to help if thats what she wanted to do Its ok though...

I still havent put on any significant amount of weight I am 16+3 but still below my pre-pregnancy weight.. ITs so exciting catching upw ith everyones good news.. I cant wait to find out what baby is going to be.. hopefully everythings ok tommorow and they can tell me on my 20 week scan booked for 9th Jan...

Sorry for a logish "me" post but I have been gone a long time..

ITs good to see you ladies are doing well.. I am defo gonna try and keep in touch now..

My Line manager at work has really peedd me off as well - I think she told HR I am pregnant although I didnt want to say anything until my 25 week time it means its gonna be hard to find another job within my office... (We have to change jobs every couple of years)

Oh! Life is soooo annoying.. I seem to have an appettite this week but - its followed with really bad Heart burn - so just feels rubbish trying to eat...

SweetBROODY · 15/12/2008 12:26

MrsF I am so sorry you feel so rough.. I had flu all of last week.. and its horrid becuase you cant even take anything for it! I think the next time I do this pregnancy thing December is NOT when I want to be pregnant.. you get a ll the bugs and you cant even have the Xmas tipple to help sort it out..

divedaisy · 15/12/2008 12:42

My top tip for trying to avoid getting colds/flus etc - eat some chillies with nearly everything! It doesn't have to be a lot so that it's hot, but just a touch. I put it on to most things - even scrambled eggs!! It works for us.

MissyK - where in Bulgaria are you going?? Where are you staying? Next time you go you must contact me - we have an apartment which we rent out. It's in Bansko near the old town. The hotel next door has a bus that takes you to the ski station, and there are plenty of hotels offering FAB treatments at even better prices!

AmmalinaC - a girl! Congrats!

1stMrsF - hope youre feeling better soon. Though if the dizziness persists get it checked out - could be low BP or an inner ear infection/problem.

SweetBroody - It's good to see you back on here . Missed you and worried... glad your dad's over his op. Bypass surgery is a worry enough when it's planned, so it must have been very tough on you as it was an emergency. Though if your MIL is really cheesing you off I think I'd have booked her a holiday at my due date to get her away from me!!!!! It could be a blessing in disguise, although if you do need her help it is a touch selfish.

OP posts:
SweetBROODY · 15/12/2008 12:46

Daisy I love my spicy food and that hasnt seemed to have helped...

The MIL is just being a cow in general.. and I guess your right.. I should see the positive side...

She just really annoys me sometimes...

She always talks about things we dont want her to.. too other people..

LoobyLou36 · 15/12/2008 13:30

sweetbroody sorry about your MIL.
emmalinac great news about scan - a GIRL! great lots of cute clothes to buy.
Got my scan at 3pm feel alternatley sick and excited. DH is bricking it quietly (this was the stage that something went wrong with a pregnancy with 1st wife)

LoobyLou36 · 15/12/2008 13:33

divedaisy bearing the advice with chillies in mind I'm cooking my special chicken & spinach vindaloo for tea. One of DH fav meals but this is the first time I've felt like cooking it since being PG.
Had a titchy glass of wine with dinner last night - woke up feeling really crappy this morning, like I'd drunk the whole bottle not had just a sniff . Junior must be trying to tell me something.

divedaisy · 15/12/2008 13:36

LoobyLou36 - you must give me your recipie - I've never felt brave enough to try Vindaloo! Though I love Chilli Masala, and anything Madras hot!

Have GP appointment today about my palpitations - though I haven;t had any in a few weeks... - always the way!

OP posts:
SweetBROODY · 15/12/2008 13:39

Looby I thought about a glass over DH birthday - but then decided to wait til Xmas!

Good luck for your scan sweetheart...

JennstarOfWonder · 15/12/2008 14:21

Well the beanbag kip was a bad idea. I've been awake since 4.15. Dh said the dc were wacking me about the head so he took them out for a walk while I slept. I looked comfy to him and must have been to have stayed that way for so long.

pulapula · 15/12/2008 14:39

Jennster- I have a habit of napping in the day too- sometimes whilst home alone with the 2 DCs (although they usually realise and wake me up after 10 mins or so!)

Keep feeling the odd fluttering (am 17 weeks today) but could just be tummy gurgling.

Just had a "fun" morning at the doctors- waited 70 mins to see a doc with 2 restless DCs (1 poorly, one active). Doc couldn't find anything to cause DSs fever, so thinks it might be one of the many viruses going round but to go back tomorrow or Weds if its no better. Not sure I can face the waiting room again in a hurry, so hope he gets better soon.

ALso, for selfish reasons, I finish work this Thurs so cant afford time off as got things to finish off, and also xmas lunch on Weds which i dont want to miss.

pulapula · 15/12/2008 14:40

As for a new thread name, how about "is that a baby bump or too many mince pies- hard to tell!"

hi all, hope you all had a good weekend.
Sweetbrody, i know what you mean about MILs.

mine reeeally gets on my nerves and the worst of it is she's really sweet and not mean which annoys me even more as she treats us like children. we went to pick up dd's from them yesterday and - this was horrible - dd2 didn't want to come to me! so MIL hung onto her. we were outside and i hissed, 'just give her to me' so i could get her in the car. . of course later she was 'mummymummymummy', but I felt sick about dd2 choosing MIL even if for a moment.

also found a lot to fault MIL (and FIL, to be fair), dd1 was wearing a skirt and no tights - it's not that warm up north but i was too annoyed with her and didn't say anything, wish I would have now.

grrrr.
just needed to rant ladies, thank you. load off my chest.

congrats emmalina and good luck to others having scans.

Due1stMay09 · 15/12/2008 15:47

Hi everyone hope you all had a good weekend!!

Is anyone else having their 20 weeks scan tomorrow or this week? Ive got mine tomorrow at 12:10 and we cant wait!!! Ooh my partner has been feeling baby kick all weekend and think he feels a bit more involved now, hes so excited bless him. We were lying in bed and i was propped up on my back watching a dvd and the baby was kicking really strongly, so i told him to put his hand on there and he/she kicked back loads, his face was a picture! Made me really happy

Ive been woken the last few nights with cramp in my leg which is agony!!! My mum made me laugh yesterday, we popped over to see her and my dad and i said my partner had been feeling the baby kick and she sat me on the sofa went right up to my bump and shouted "HALLOW?!!! ITS MEEEEEEEE, YOUR GRAN!!!!" lol shes crazy but it made us laugh so much, she really wants to feel him/her kick (its her first grandchild!)

Im going to find out tomorrow if my due date is actually a bit nearer than we thought!! Might be 28th April so imay have to be leaving you guys Doubt it though but will have to see.

Oh yeah and one of my clients - (man)...typical! Said to me today "Your face is getting chubbier!" so i said "What do u bloody expect?! Im 5 months pregnant - im hardly going to get slimmer am i?!" Idiot lol

Hope everyone and growing bumps are well

MissyK · 15/12/2008 16:23

Divedaisy We are staying in Bansko - can't find my thing with the hotel name on though, I'll find out & let you know.
Ooh, send me the names of the best places to have treatments, nothing like a bit of insider knowledge!!
I think we are going back in Jan 2010 again, taking mil to help with the new ds.

Just back from my scan & the little man is growing well & measuring slighly ahead (again). Have been told I will get sent a letter and possibly yet another due date.
Or as having an elective c-section a scan later in pregnancy to make sure he comes out at the right time.

Kind of jealous of those having girls - everything is blue in this house!! I'd love a bit of pink around the place!
