llareggub · 14/12/2008 18:36

We've just had cawl, which is basically veggie stew with lamb. Very tasty.

I'm looking very pregnant these days, are you?

llareggub · 14/12/2008 18:36

I do like Mungo, btw. Not sure about Sholto as I've never heard it before.

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 18:42

I look like I'm 7 months gone with twins.
Not good!
Your dinner sounds yum. Any left?

llareggub · 14/12/2008 18:45

That's good, exactly how I look according to friends.

I took a trip home over the weekend and bumped into a friend of my father's. He told me what I big girl I was getting so I replied rather frostily that I'm nearly 20 weeks pregnant.

He meant old!

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 18:47

Nice!
Old or fat.....hmm not sure which I'd be (or am?)

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 18:48

I'm 34 so quite old and am defintely 'a big girl' now! How depressing.
This time next year I'll be back in my size 10's ...... god, I hope so anyway!

llareggub · 14/12/2008 18:50

I suspect I am both although this gestational diabetes thing has meant I've slimmed down a bit. I think I will weigh less at the birth than I did at the moment of conception!

I've planned a 2nd christmas day post-birth to eat all the things that are currently off-limits.

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 18:57

I just sat up straight and my neck and shouders creaked and crunched in horrible way! God that's not good.

EmmalinaC · 14/12/2008 19:09

Hello there

Delighted congratulations on your boy news! I really like Mungo - always been my top of my boy-name list but DH says never. Something to do with Mary & Midge...

I seem to have grown vast in the just the last week. Had a family Christmas party today and all my relatives expressed amazement that it's not due until May. Oh dear

Scan tomorrow! Very nervous.

runningmonkey · 14/12/2008 19:38

hiya,
Crappy weekend here our house sale fell through so after getting all excited about our new place it looks like we've lost it

On the bright side we just put up our Christmas tree and are watching elf which has cheered me up a bit.

Ps sorry about the random capitals am on my phone!

1stMrsF · 14/12/2008 20:13

Hello

I have just skimmed through to catch up. There's so much happens between visits!Congrats and commiserations wherever they are due.

Have been feeling quite a bit better this week, only one day of nausea out of about 10 now. Feeling babies move - some definite kicks yesterday although still can't feel them on the outside so DH is impatiently waiting for that to happen! Wierd thing I learned this week is that there is in fact a slight chance that our twins could be identical; I thought that if they were DCDA (Di-amniotic, di-chorinic where they have two amniotic sacs and separate chorionic membrances) they had to be non-identical but apparently not if the embryo splits very early on. I still think that I ovulated twice due to two pains so my money's still on non-identicals but it's all very fascinating.

Can't seem to get excited about names yet, perhaps I'm still in denial. Think I'm going to wait until scan on 30th Dec and then perhaps we will know what we are having (and if it's one of each it'll sort out my ID/non-ID dilemma too!) I'm impressed with the long lists that people have, and there are lots of nice names there too.

We have decorated the nursery though - well painted the walls anyway, and moved the study into our smallest room to make room for the babies. DH is struggling to come to terms with the lack of space for his 3 guitars, 2 keyboards and heaps of amplication equipment but I haven't the heart to tell him he'll be too busy and tired to use it

Simply can't wait for next week to be over. I am very tired from being pregnant, working, commuting AND trying to organise Christmas as well. Burst into tears today whilst decorating the tree because DH was bing 'horrid' - think I was just tired and hormonal. Also sick of people in meetings at work saying 'Oh, don't come too close because I'm coming down with some sort of bug' - GO HOME and take your germs with you! You can take lemsip max strength but I can't you selfish so and so!

Rant over. Hope you are all well and healthy and not subjected to others' germs and that the Christmas preparations are not reducing you to tears

LoobyLou36 · 14/12/2008 20:24

emmalinac I've got my scan tommorrow too. Got everything crossed for both of us.

EmmalinaC · 14/12/2008 21:08

Oh yes - I remember you saying yours was same day. Good luck LoobyLou - hope it goes well.

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 21:12

thanks emmalina - good luck with the scan. Are you finding out what you're having?
also good luck too to loobylou 1stMrsF - couldn't agree more about the people spreading their germs - annoys me too. Am also on the verge of tears regarding the Christmas preparations. Have so much to do. Boo. Am normally pretty organised but this year - no!

Still arguing with DH about what kind of 7 seater to get. I want a Volvo xc90 and he wants me to get a people carrier like a Ford Galaxy or something. Am so bored of this conversation.......any suggestions?

pulapula · 14/12/2008 21:35

Frazzled,

I would prefer a volvo to a galaxy if i could afford one!

I was in a 7-seater corolla today which seemed ok really and a lot cheaper i imagine.

We'll keep our 5-seater for now as we think we can fit 3 child seats in the back.

pulapula · 14/12/2008 21:38

Oops hope i haven't blown your cover...

SpangleMaker · 14/12/2008 22:11

Evening all

Delighted I've left a post on your baby names thread. Seems fairly balanced on there so far. I can't believe how some of those threads kick off! At least I eventually got the Ptolemy thread round to a reasonably intelligent conversation about the effect of names on kids at school.

runningmonkey sorry to hear about your move falling through.

Spent this afternoon bagging up my 'normal' clothes, including a big pile I'd got too fat for before I was even pg . I must've gotten big because they all look sooo small. Felt a bit down actually, wondering if I'll ever get my figure back, but I guess running round after a baby and bf-ing will help Oh well, baby is more important than my vanity I guess

JennstarOfWonder · 14/12/2008 22:11

Delighted We're looking for a VW Touran. 7 Seats and the back 2 fold back completely flat with a parcel shelf that can be used on both the middle and back seats. Touran is more 'carlike' than the Galaxy/Sharan although I we did like the look of Grand Scenics, but were put off with repair costs.

Well it looks like the house move is on for next Saturday... (that's sick feeling not envy btw) We are SOOOO not nearly packed yet. Scan and facial booked for Wednesday and think I need an early night. I fell asleep on all fours leaning on a beanbag this afternoon. Not just a quick nap, 90 minutes!

Just finished the Christmas cards, and all the presents are wrapped.

detsy · 14/12/2008 22:53

Hi Girls
Been to mums for tea and last few bits of shopping on line - forgot about two baby cousins which would have been a minor disaster in family politics...

DD had a fab time at my mum's, playing with my two much much younger sisters and generally being a mischeivous madam, she's shattered and will hopefully sleep thru.

spangle i'd only just slogged back down to half stone off pre pgncy weight when we got pregnant again and am now like a weeble - size 10 seems like so many years ago!! However am determinded to get it off post baby 2 (pip)

delighted sorry DCs are poorly, I hate it when Lotti is ill - i'm going to homeopath with her next week to see if we have any success there (love all the natural stuff - used homeopathy in pgncy and supposedly labou but to be honest forgot about it once in the throes...

Drinking gallons of redbush tea which i developed a taste for whilst away last week. Apparently very good for you which makes a change to what normally enters my system!!

detsy · 14/12/2008 23:03

Also got the legs of an old woman - a very old one... developed thread veins last time and they have gone mad this time - so need to be zapped post May. Anyone got any experience of this - i can't do lasers - being a red head I have very sensitive skin and find lasers way too painful for me!! I'm interested in the injections (and lipo and botox and anything else really)

I keep having weird thoughts about how this could be my last pgncy - due to age and finances and DDP's sanity and whilst only half way through it, i keep thinking i will def need/want to do this again! Have jokingly mentioned this to Dp and he just ignored me and said he was going for the chop... I love this stage of being preggers when you look pregnant and know your body is doing amazing things. Still I suppose we'll see what happens after Pip is here.

DP got his xmas present this weekend (new set of irons), a shirt ironed for tomo (unheard of in this house..!!) and some "extras" so he is a happy bunny and quite rightly so!

Right will stop twittering - off to get a new cup of tea and think who else I have left off the xmas list...

detsy · 14/12/2008 23:10

Think we will be running out of space again soon too - hope all the other threads chat as fast as the May lot...

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 23:22

Ssssshh detsy don't talk about 'extras* with my DH in the room. He might get ideas!
Actually though I have been feeling a bit more 'like it' recently - now all my amnio worry is over I feel a bit more relaxed and am also not quite so knackered of an evening.

I've got a huge (and hideous) varicose vein looking thing on the front of my left thigh. It appeared in my last pg and then went away again but now ITS BACK and I feel like a granny with it sticking out. Gross, hope it goes away after or I'll def be getting something done about it. Sorry about the thread veins - not sure what they are - are they the little red ones? If so I've got some of those too (am also fair skinned).

Funny you're saying that about it being your last pg and wanting another - I always wanted 3 kids (and this will be it). But now I've started with a secret longing for a 4th. Must be the pg hormones or something - Ive never ever wanted 4 kids before. Then the other day my (super-mum) friend who has 4 under 5 (yes really) told me she thinks I'll definitely have one more. I was really .

Perhaps I should see how we get on with this one first
and whether we will have any money left at all by the time we've been credit crunched into obsurity!
(we are self employed in the construction area so it's 'interesting' at the moment).

Still arguing about cars, but since I'll be driving it mostly I reckon I get the final say. Which is Volvo. The only thing is every 2nd mummy at DD's school drives one (and it seems it has to be silver!) Bizarre. If I get one I definitely won't be getting silver or I'll never find it in the playground at pick-up time!

Hope DD's sleep tonight - am taking Calpol and cough mixture into our bedroom tonight just in case. Hate it when they're ill.
Off to bed now. Night x x

delightedoldbag34 · 14/12/2008 23:26

By the way what is redbush tea? I would probably benefit from a caffeine free alternative as i think I drink too many cups of tea/coffee a day.

detsy · 14/12/2008 23:57

I love the tea - you can get it in any supermarket either labelled as redbush or roi boos. I take it with milk like normal tea which is how they drink it in SA as well - i'm not into herbal teas at all but this just tastes like a mild tea with a very "soft" flavour - is yummy

OMG don't mention 4 kids - that will really freak DP out You are much younger than me tho so you still have the possibility - i think i'd be pushing it at 3 at my grand old age (41)

I also have a small ish varicose vein on my calf - someone said that bio oil is good for them so am rubbing that on as and when i remember (can be arsed...) The blue of the VV complements the red/purple of the thread veins (yes the small reddish ones) god I am SUCH a catch

I know diddly squat about cars so can't help there but the xc90 sounds plusher than the others - guess you need to test drive a few. I'm always interested in the insides of cars - how the dash looks, if there is a sunglass holder or any interesting secret compartments, not any practicalities at all!

Have to go to bodeez now, night night x

MrsEvs · 15/12/2008 03:44

Hello All
Sorry I dropped of the face of the earth there for a while! Got back from Disney and the catching up seemed so overwhelming, then DD1 was sick , then DD2 was, then I was and somehow it's mid Dec and I haven't posted since mid Nov!!!

All well here - v. jealous at all those who have found out the sex already, I'm dying to know but my scan isn't until Jan 15th so I have a while to wait! Can't even begin to think about names until I know. DH and I agree on nothing names wise and I can't face the drama of the discussion until we've narrowed it down to boy or girl.

Feeling pretty good now mostly though from time to time I get theses awful headaches that I had both other times too and the painkillers you are allowed just don't cut it. Am not as big as I thought I'd be by now either - I'm sure I was bigger with DD2 at 16 weeks than I am now, but I may just be remembering wrong! There's definately a good bump but it could still be mistaken as a beer gut when caught at the right angle!

Got my Mum and Dad flying in on Wed for Chrimbo which I am very excited about, usually we make the trek home to Liverpool, but I'm really looking forward to staying put this year.

Anyway, just wanted to check in - you are all sleeping right now, and I'm heading up myself I think...
