detsy - I'm here now! glad you all found the new thread - I can't believe we're on page 2!! we can chat!!!
MsG - sleeping on your side is really only important later on when the baby is heavier. It is recommended to prevent your aorta getting squished and circulation compromised. Though, getting a good nights sleep is important - don;t beat yourself up if you can only get comfy on your back/tummy. Maybe you and DH need to sit down and have a good chat. Most things do work out, but you sound like someone who needs to be prepared. I too worried about hours after returning to work. Eventually I went back full time - but I was fortunate to have a mum who was able to look after DS whilst I was at work. There are no right answers - each persons situation is differnet, but if you are not sleeping due to worry it is a bit unfair of your DH to say not to worry about it yet.
As for getting comfy - what is the problem?? If you can afford it I can highly recommend a 'memory foam' mattress or mattress topper. I replaced our bed last christmas with a sprung base divan with a sprung mattress topped with 4" memory foam, coupled with memory foam pillows - one each is recommended to align your spine correctly. Both DH & I have agreed it has improved our sleep - though I feel like the princess and the pea getting into bed as its so high!! You also should try the maternity support pillows such as these to support yourself when in bed. And do try to limit what you drink before bedtime. I too get very thirsty - especially in the morning.
Cote - a boy!! Fantastic news!!!! I can't wait to find out the sex of ours. Have to wait till 31 Dec....
SweetB - when I was preg with DS i used to watch 'Countdown' on Channel 4 every day. When DS was born he recognised the tune!!!!! Then when he was learning to speak he'd ask for 'a vowel peas' or 'a consonant peas Carol'!!! Very impressive!!
DS got his white belt tonight at JuJitsu!! It's his first grade and I am so so proud of him!!!
sorry for long post
