Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dinny · 20/01/2009 17:06

hi all, just had mw appointment - all OK, my two children came with me and herad the heartbeat (they were spectacularly unimpressed, lol!)

am measuring 34cm at 33 weeks...mw says it's fine, hope this one doens't grow too big....

hope everyone is well - I am definitely feeling more nauseous again and finding it harder to sleep. and the fecking restless legs are driving me mad!

Corgi - lovely pics! so glamorous!

MKG · 20/01/2009 17:18

Hi all. My house is finally clean! Any bets on how long it takes to get destroyed again? I give it 10 minutes. It's not fun trekking the vacuum up the stairs, with a huge belly.

Dinny--did you talk to your midwife about your childbirth issues or are you waiting to see an OB?

Hi all, have just got back from my visit to the diabetic team at the hospital. Its all looking pretty good considering - was scanned and baby is well within the normal range, although slightly above the average for head and abdominal circumference and slightly below for femur length.......hmm my baby is a big headed fat bellied short arse
I've got to go back in 2 weeks for the final decision on how long I can stay pregnant for - I asked if it was more likely that they would let me carry to term as things are looking ok and was told that there may be a small chance that they will consider letting me go to 40 weeks (sounded like a big fat no to me!).

Corgi - couldn't see your pics even though am a facebook user.

dinny · 20/01/2009 19:48

MKG - it wasn't my usual mw but did have brief chat...I'm waiting for referral to see a mw at the hospital for a debrief about ds's birth....

I have also seen obs and have another appointment at 38 wks....

mw today was very much "because we're aware of prev sd we will make sure you're in a position in delivery where it - hopefully! - won't happen"

Cherrybaby · 20/01/2009 22:18

Hi Everyone,

my second post only, although I lurk alot

Snap with the breathless feeling, and anyone breathing heavy at night? DH says I sound positively "stormy"

The bags (mine and bubs) all packed, furniture is all here. Father in law assembled the last piece yesterday, a lovely extra wide chest of drawers. All the shopping is done..I just spend the day "faffing" now.

Anyone else faffing, or is it just me??

Also, anyone got any good reccomendations on good newborn books?

laumiere · 20/01/2009 22:29

waves to room....

Hi all, just hit 33 weeks, so have been pg more than a week than with DS1!

Quick question, is anyone else getting, erm, diarrhoea at the moment? I've had it a couple of days, bad abdominal cramps and a feeling I have to go to the loo NOW, then immediate relief.

YES laumiere I was on the loo on and off all last night - not sure what's going on but had the same when I was a few weeks pregnant, rather than constipation... weird....

babyinbelly · 21/01/2009 10:14

Hi, sorry about the links, I assumed they would work for you. I have put a profile page on here now so hopefully you should be able to see bump now. Sorry!

I have my MW appt tommorrow so hopefully everything is going fine. Hoping they'll be able to give me an idea of birth weight and what position its in so I know which bits are poking me!

laweaselmys · 21/01/2009 10:43

I like 'first time parent' by lucy atkins. It's honest and not judgey with lots of useful little bits. There's a nice chapter with ideas for cheap toys that will keep your kids amused without over stimulating them.(plus I was given copies by two different mums when I told them I was PG so highly recommend apparently!)

laweaselmys · 21/01/2009 10:45

I like your bump babyinbelly!! It looks about the same size as mine I think. (I should really take some pictures...)

BTW, I got my first bump compliment today, after all the insults you lot have been getting. Apparently I don't have a pregnant face, lol!

laweaselmys · 21/01/2009 10:53

Hmm, I have just worked out that my SMP (paid through job centre not work) is paid for 39 weeks. Which means actually, I will make more money if I stay off work until mid-November than if I go back in time for the new year in September! (I'm only going back part time, because I can't afford more childcare than that)

How peculiar. I suppose it's a good thing though!

dinny · 21/01/2009 10:55

mmm, funnily enough, I got loads of compliments this week too - the mw said yesterday at check-up "you have amazing muscle tone in your stomach, not one ounce of flab" - she was fairly potty type though, lol

laumiere · 21/01/2009 12:21

Hi ladies, just got back from my 33w appointment with the midwife. Midwife was mostly happy, Danger is measuring at 32-33 weeks, head down.

She was a bit concerned about the upset tum though, am on those vile Diorlyte sachets with orders if it doesn't clear up today I've got to go to Labour Ward tonight with a sample (nice) and get checked for infections, in case they set off labour. Joy! They wanted me to go to Day Assessment but I don't have anyone to look after my little boy and it's usually a 2 hour wait to be seen, so Labour Ward is actually easier!

Wheelybug · 21/01/2009 15:09

Great bump pics everyone ! Must do mine...

Laumiere - I had diarrhoea and pains last week for about 12 hours then they went away and then a couple of days later had sickness for 12 hours. I didn't actually feel ill at all with any of it and think the sickness may have been bought on by a glass of wine I had (I kept saying it tasted acidic) and not sure about the other end. No one else seems to have had it around here so don't think it was a bug. I did have a bit of it early on too so maybe just hormones.

I read the most worrying thing is dehydration and I guess with your history of early labour its right to be careful. Hope everything is ok.

Slickbird · 21/01/2009 16:50

Hey Y'all. Well we've been up constantly the last two nights as DD2 (the one who had her MMR last week and was a nightmare on Monday) has been running a temperature for the last three days. I'm hoping today will be the last of it as me and DH are exhausted. I think it's the fever element of the measles, but still better this than the real thing.

Well my sickness is back too, has been for the last couple of weeks but getting stronger every day. Can't say I'm very impressed as I feel 5 months of throwing up 4 times a day was quite enough. It also never came back with the other two.

I'm thinking of packing my hozzie bag this weekend as I'll be 35 weeks. I mentioned it to mum and she said "Is it not a bit early??" I pointed out that I could in theory go at any time and that anything after 37 weeks is considered full term.

Anyway, it'll make me feel better if I'm more prepared.

Hope everyone's feeling better with the runny bums and sickness.

lizziemun · 21/01/2009 17:44

Slickbird you may just be beening sick because your tired, it how i feel when sleep deprived.

As to all your photo's i feel like an elephant compared to you. My bump seems huge compared to everyone else.

I going out tommorrow to get the bits i need for my hospital bag so i can pack it. But then i like to be organised am only going to be 34wks but then next two weeks are busy i not going to have any time.

Sat - dd1 got a birthday party 4-6pm for one of her freinds.

Sun - Family buffet lunch for dd1 birthday.

Tues - DD1 5th birthday

Thurs - Dads Funeral.

heyy girls new to the thread due on the 15th of march 09 :D heloo 2 u all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:30

Hey all,

I haven't had any cravings at all in this pregnancy, but now it has emerged. Peanut butter and jam sandwiches. So freakin good it's unbelievable.

Oh I talked the diabetes nurse today as my numbers are very low, and are in fact in the non-diabetic range. Basically she told me to eat what I wanted (within reason), but just to make sure that my numbers don't go too high, because obviously my body is making enough insulin.

mum2b09 · 21/01/2009 18:40

i hadnt had any weird cravings until the other day i had the biggest urge 2 stuff a tangarine in my mouth with a trebors strong mint (dont ask) haha xxxx

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:44

That's ok. I've been diagnosed with GD (obviously I'm having some issue with that) Yesterday I went to the grocery store to pick some things up, and they were selling cakes with pictures of Obama on them. I was tempted to bite his head off it was ridiculous. I put that to having been on a sugar low.

OP posts:
mum2b09 · 21/01/2009 18:46

haha it is abit ott isnt it lol. all this talk of foods got me craving a custard slice with white icing haha xxx

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:50

You have no idea. I'm in the US, and people are insane, if I have to hear about Michelle Obama's dress one more time.

OP posts:
mum2b09 · 21/01/2009 18:55

haha how long did u say u have left MKG ?? xxx

MKG · 21/01/2009 18:58

Well I'm 33 weeks, and they said they didn't want me to go past my due date because of the GD. So (gulp) 6 weeks and some change left.

Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?
