corgikelly, I fell off the list on the last thread! Still lurking around though.

Mandy73 · 25/11/2008 11:11

Hi Babyinbelly
Because of my dodgy biochemistry I'm on special watch and they try to exclude all known potential issues (chromosomal abnormalities, pre-eclampsia & growth restrictions mainly) as soon as they can.

Had uterine artery doppler scan today - it was normal! Consultant said it should give us some peace of mind until w 34 when he'll do it again. And if there are any issues then, he'll just get the baby out. Hooray - we're over the moon, have been waiting for this test for 12 weeks.

Love to everyone.
xx

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:17

Hello ladies!

Very excited about the new thread, well done MKG!

Hope all had a good weekend, can't wait til I get my laptop, then I can logon at the weekend too!

Went for 25 week drs appointments yesterday, all good, bump 25cm apparently (he said should be 1cm per week, so spot on!). He had a good (hard!) prod at my belly too and said baby was bum down. Not sure the little one liked all the prodding tho cos when he put his ear to that plastic cone thing to listen to it, it gave him a good hard kick. Hee hee I thought, that's my baby!

Since all the prodding baby has been much more active, still in protest perhaps!

Funny thing though, the doctor said I had to wait another 2 weeks before he'd give me my MATB1 form (he filled it out and then put it in his drawer and said to go back to collect it in 2 weeks as he's not 'legally' allowed to give it to me before). Is that right?

HR aren't chasing me for it, but I don't want to be late handing it in!
I thought I had to hand it in this week!

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:19

Congratulations mandy btw, that's great news!

Boobz · 25/11/2008 11:26

I thought it was 20 weeks for the MAT B1 form? I got mine 2 weeks ago at 21 weeks and my employer has it already.

A

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:32

oh no, really?!
I will email HR now to ask them when they need it...

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:32

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:33

sorry, clicked twice in my eagerness to send!

emma2617 · 25/11/2008 11:37

AmyO You have to hand your MATB1 in by the end of your 25th week...they arent allowed to give it to you until after you are 21 weeks...I think you GP is talking rubbish! You really should chase him as it could delay your maternity pay.

Mandy glad all is okay, and will be for the foreseeable future! At least you know if they do detect a problem next time they will be able to just whip baby out pronto!

I am having some serious baby movements...I can believe the chabge over the last 2 weeks! He gets very active each evening when I get in th ebath and we do some belly dancing as I like to call it! He makes my belly jump all over, a bit like when Flubber dances in the film!! But then last night I could clearly see him shift from one side of my belly to the other...it was the most bizarre but fabulous experience of my life!!

Is anyone else breaking down the wait til baby arrives?! I am trying to break it up into manageable chunks... 3 and a half weeks until my anti-D appt, then its xmas so that will fly by! Then after new year I have MW appt on 05/01/09, then the following weekend I have an all day saturday labour workshop, then its only 4 weeks until i finish for maternity leave, then only 4 weeks until due date!! That makes it sound so soon!!

AmyO · 25/11/2008 11:45

Oh b*gger, just emailed lady in HR and she said 'that's wierd they usually give it to you at 20 weeks' (she's preggers too).
Think it should be ok, am going up for a chat this afternoon to see if I can get the ball rolling without it and if they desperately need the form will call GP and kick up a fuss. Quite good at doing that these days

laweaselmys · 25/11/2008 13:07

Does anybody think they have a name for their Jr yet?

DP and I have been toing and froing about names for ages but keep changing our minds so have decided to keep the name under wraps just in case we don't like it once she's born!

Do I need a MATB1 form? I'm not getting my ML pay from my employer I have to get it straight from the government. I've got no idea what I'm supposed to be doing about it though.

emma2617 · 25/11/2008 13:22

laweasel We have been trying to think of a name, but are really struggling a s we both like different names! If it had been a girl it would have been Isabella May, no arguments...but him being a boy has thrown a spanner in the works! At the moment I like Luca but DP likes Cian!

emma2617 · 25/11/2008 13:27

laweasel if you will be claiming maternity allowance then you still need a MATB1. As far as I know you claim MA through the job centre, if that is what you are doing! Sorry, I'm not much help am I!!

AmyO · 25/11/2008 13:37

agree emma boys names are very hard!
we like isabella too but think we'll go for elizabeth if a girl (which i reckon it is!) as that was my mum's name and it's the english version of isabella so good compromise.
boys names are tricky though! luca is nice. i like jack too as it's also in the family but it's so popular these days. friends with kids at school say they call them jack 1, jack 2, jack 3 etc would be nice to find an original but not too wacky name, but where?!

sorry laweasel, i would love to help with your query but am clearly no authority on MATB1 forms - hope sb else can advise!

off to see hr in a bit will let you know how it goes...

LittleBok · 25/11/2008 14:12

Just regarding MATB1, I got mine at 21 weeks too and so they should give it to you now. I had my 24 weeks GP appointment this morning and heard the baby's heartbeat nice and clear, always a relief! Told him all about the lack of movement and he said everyone is different and to now start monitoring it on a daily/weekly basis and only if it changes in terms of less movement then worry about it. So I have already compiled a chart on my computer!!

Love the name Luca, we too are having a boy and finding it hard, something a bit different that isn't the name of the town he was concieved in and stupid names like that!!!

Also breaking down the dates, 4 weeks until christmas, then 6 weeks until maternity leave after that....... jeepers!

FruitynNutty · 25/11/2008 14:21

Hi everyone

About the name thing, having a boy here has also thrown a spanner in the works. Looks like we'll just have to call him Olivia Violet after all if we can't agree on a name
Got my 24 week midwife appointment on Monday morning, looking forward to hearing my little bubba's heartbeat again Seems ages I last saw someone (apart from sonographer).

laweaselmys · 25/11/2008 14:25

We had a boys name picked and sorted too (Leo)! How peculiar. Next time I should refrain from choosing any name before finding out the sex. ATM, we think this little girl might be Molly. But not sure enough to tell anyone in RL.

I love the name Luca, as well.

Hmm, I might just pop to CAB this week and ask them what I'm supposed to be doing. (If I ever get out of this house and over this fever!)

CaptainKarvol · 25/11/2008 14:26

hi all, I've found you again

MATb1 things - don't know yet, but I got a letter from personnel today telling me they need mine. I did need one last time too, and it had to go to my employers I think even though I was only claiming MA from the govt.

I cannot decide on a name for this baby. DS took all of my naming energy, 3 years on I am still out of extra ideas. I hate almost all names at the moment, which is not a lot of help!

FruitynNutty · 25/11/2008 14:29

Laweaselmys I think you should choose Molly, mainly because it's my name and so wish it was fashionable when I was little.
Also everyone always says it's a lovely name, even though I never believed it until now

Wheelybug · 25/11/2008 14:30

We've given up talking about names here as we can't really agree. Thinking Isla for a girl at the moment but boys we're really stuck so have given up !

I keep thinking once we get to December time should start whizzing until christmas, then my dd's birthday is end of Jan and then I'll start getting ready/ buying bits. So hoping the last 3 months goes quite quickly.

littlebok - I was going to say, if you're ever worried about movements etc there is a day unit at Kingston (behind the ultrasound reception desk !) where you can go and be monitored.

I'm having a mw appt at 26 weeks as I saw the consultant at 22 weeks and then consultant again at 28 weeks (+ another scan) then consultant and scan every 4 weeks after that.

Wheelybug · 25/11/2008 14:31

Laweasel - Molly and Leo are two of my faves too !

corgikelly · 25/11/2008 14:45

(anyone else having issues with posting replies that never show up? {angry})

Sounds as if we have a bunch of movers and shakers tucked away -- Cletus' "on" times are definitely mid-late afternoon and midnight-2am (hurrah...). It is the MOST surreal feeling!

I second everyone who's having a difficult time choosing a boy's name; we'd been all set for a girl (Zoe Catherine), and CANNOT settle on a boy's name now. Currently in the running:

Patrick (no nickname)
Nicolas (Nico, NOT Nick)
Samuel

Any votes on 'em?

But I really don't know how I'll break myself of the Cletus habit...

Boobz · 25/11/2008 14:53

Josephine Ella for a girl
Dashiel Benjamin for boy
