dinny · 22/12/2008 15:13

God, mw hasn't even prodded me yet to see if breech, it doesn't matter for ages (am 29 and a half weeks)

I am still feeling like shit - I have congested lungs and I feel sick when I eat anything - bleurgh

kids asked today " PLEASE can we go out today Mummy?", we've all got cabin fever

meep · 22/12/2008 16:04

Hi everyone!

Law - there is definitely loads of time for the baby to turn - I am sure they only startto be concerned when you are really close to your due date.

Someone else on MN directed a thread here to get tips on how to get your baby in the right position - maybe it will help?

Can't belive it's nearly Christmas - I have a pile of presents to wrap and I just can't face it - the thought seems too exhausting!

Slickbird · 22/12/2008 16:26

My DD1 is driving me INSANE!!!! She is so excited and hyper I cannot cope anymore. I've not had a minute to myself and put DD2 in her cot for a nap and she's been screaming for the last 20 minutes while I sit and have a really relaxing cup of tea - NOT!! Got MIL appearing around 7pm and I still have to clean the bathroom, make dinner for everyone, tidy the livingroom - AGAIN - and sort bedding out. CAN I BE ARSED? CAN I F*ck. [Fshock]

Merry Christmas Y'all!

meep · 22/12/2008 16:34

Slickbird - my dd is also overexcited and she's only 17 mo - it is her hat obseesion - she found Santa hats/redindeer antlers and now makes sure that we are all wearing them AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!

MKG · 22/12/2008 17:12

Don't even get me started. I've got a 3 yo that thinks wrapping paper it the coolest thing ever and keeps going into my boxes to find my wrapping supplies.

lizziemun · 22/12/2008 19:37

I've cheated today and taken dd's to MIL today so i could get on with everything i need to do.

I don't usually leave them with them as dd's are very active and MIL is not as well as my mum and she finds them very hard work.

But I needed to get the house tidy and all the present wrapped. And i Succeed horay .

The only thing i need to do now is make some more mince pies as dh is taking the ones i have already made into work tomorrow.

Wheelybug · 22/12/2008 22:11

I have a very exciteable almost 4 year old here too. She's been excitable (read - not sleeping) for a couple of weeks already thanks to her nursery revving them up with christmas activities (to be expected I know and I don't blame them).

We're off to my parents tomorrow for a few days so have a lovely christmas everyone. I am going to have a glass of champagne and everything .

lollipopz · 23/12/2008 08:30

Hey I have excited kids here too! DS will be 2 on xmas day and the poor wee guy thinks all the xmas trees and santas and every thing every where are all for him!
When dds ask him if santa will bring them any thing he yells no! never know he may be right if they don't tidy their rooms! !
Got last minute things to pick up today taking my mum so she can distract dcs! need to take them as we have nothing for daddy yet! !
I am then working this evening and then will need to get dcs to bed at 7 tomorrow so the wrapping and putting in of batteries can commence! L xx

emma2617 · 23/12/2008 09:40

Morning ladies! I love over-excited kids at xmas...but thats probably because I can hand them back when it starts to grate on me!!

I have made it back from DPs grandads funeral all the way down in london!! I feel like crap though now! All the extra effort and super-tiredness hasment I am now coming down with something, all snotty and keep coughing! And because I spent so long in my car I have a REALLY bad back! Nothing comparted to those of you with SPD Im sure, but it has come a s a bit of a shock to me as I have only had the odd twinge so far! just for the record...funerals and hormones DO NOT mix well! I was an utter mess before we even got in the church...and it wasnt even one of my relatives!!

I am completely not ready for xmas...got sooooo much to do tonight, really not looking forward to it!

I am at work and trying my best not to do anything, but unfortunately people just keep ringing me!!

Hope you are all keeping well and have your excitable children under some degree of control...if thats even possible!!

Mandy73 · 23/12/2008 13:43

Wishing everyone a very merry Xmas - thanks for all the amazing support this year.

Not around MN much as still fighting deadlines when I'm not comatose or stuffing my face .

Lots of love,
xx

laws my baby has been breech the whole time too, with a brief sojourn to transverse the week before last for about 6 or 7 days, which was interesting. My midwife said don't worry til about 36 weeks - of course I do, cos I am planning a HB and really don't like the idea of a C section, but I am sure he/she will like the idea of head-down sooner or later.

I've had some funny stuff going on this week, last night I was getting BH/period-like pains pretty strongly, at one point about 5 mins apart and lasting over half a minute. The out of hours doctor said he thought it was a urine infection so I've been checked out this morning and my GP says it isn't, so don't know really! It has been going on for a few days but last night it got us both worried. Still, no other signs of early labour and feel ok today.
Anybody else had this??

I get really excited to read of all of you dealing with little ones at Christmas, this is our first and I can't imagine having an exited toddler in the house before long!!

Yulewitch - oops maybe I had wind too! I have so much trouble working out what's going on in my body these days, it may well have been.

is the tubigrip for your SPD? I hope it helps you sound a bit trussed up like Christmas dinner

emma2617 · 23/12/2008 15:17

yulewitch you sound like youre having a tought time of it...hopefully your rather sexy sounding tubigrip will help!

I have just had a big presentation at work (as its my last day tomorrow and most other people will be off)! They have got me some lovely baby clothes, muslin squares, a boots version of a taggie and an ickle sleeping bag! Im all chuffed now...its go me all excited! I managed to stave off the tears, mainly because I was all cried out from yesterday!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Boobz · 23/12/2008 15:41

Have had a shit week. Year end bonus was pants. No lovely car for DH, no posh pram for baby.

Bah humbug.

FlannelCat · 23/12/2008 18:52

Hi Titmouse

I had the same a few weeks ago, really strong BH and period pains that seemed almost constant. I found having a bath miraculous, the pains eased as soon as I got in. It made me all the more determined to have a HB with birthing pool. I'm also suffering with terrible wind and and my DD is completely disgusted with me, but nothing helps. Oh well - only another 3 months, I'm sure it will fly by

MKG · 23/12/2008 22:35

Hey all. I've spent all day out doing things for Christmas and I was even brave enough to go food shopping. Not a cart in sight.

Just got a call that my sugar was high so tomorrow I have to go for the 3 hour Gestational Diabetes test. Oh Joy! Bring on the new year.

laweaselmys · 23/12/2008 23:03

That's rubbish about your bonus Boobz. Mind you mine turned out to be a £10 voucher and a mince pie. I wasn't massively impressed.

36 weeks! Okay, loooooads of time for her to swivel around then. TBH, I'm not particularly stressed or worried about whatever position she ends up in. As long as there is a plan to get her out as safely as possible it's all fine with me.

Probably won't be on again for a while - so Happy Holidays everybody! Enjoy eating as much as possible and blaming it on Jr.

jollyjoanne · 24/12/2008 10:11

Happy Christmas for tomorrow everyone!

Haven't had much chance to sign on for the last week or so, so busy at work trying to get things finished before Christmas and then before I leave at the end of January.

I feel really quite organised for Christmas - all the pressies have been delivered, all the food is bought, now I just have the tidying to do, and i am procrastinating now so I don't have to do it.

No Christmas bonus from work (well except we get this afternoon off!). So definitely no special pressies from that.

Had my 3d scan yesteray so I will try to find someone with a bit more tech savvy than me to get it online. It was impressive, but the baby was rather unco-operative and wouldn't move her hand away from her face in order to get a good photo. And my goodness me is she a fatty! Her cheeks are enormously chubby and at one point she looked like she had about 6 chins! She is head down but she keeps changing direction so some days her feet are in the left side of rib cage and some days the right side.

Anyway really will have to go and tidy at some point. Have a great time everyone x

emma2617 · 24/12/2008 10:33

Merry Christmas everyone!! Well...for tomorrow!

I am sat in work trying my best to do nothing...and its not going to badly!! I have packed up my desk and am just ready to leave now! We get naff all from work at Christmas either...apart from finishing at 4 instead of 5...pushing the boat out I know!

I am thoroughly unprepared for Christmas, still have all my familys presents to wrap and DPs, he is at home to day cleaning and packing for the trip to my mums this evening, I will have to wrap when I get there!

Hope everyone has a good few days, see you when its over!!

jollyjoanne · 24/12/2008 11:20

A few 3d scan photos are now available on my profile. Will try and sort out a video clip for after Xmas.

wheresmybump · 24/12/2008 12:07

Hi all i haven't posted in ages im 27+2 now and all seems to be ok. i was going to change my name the other day as i woke up with a huge bump but it lasted all of 2 hours and now im back to just looking like i ate all the mince pies . Anyway just wanted to wish you all a sober but very merry xmas

MKG · 24/12/2008 16:25

Well I didn't get to have my GD test today because apparently a sip of tea can skew the results which I didn't know, so I have to go back on Tuesday, which is fine because I had an appointment anyway. The bright side is that I got my anti-D shot so that is out of the way.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
