Hi everyone, I felt so sick over the weekend and also tired. Mainly in the afternoon and evening. Never in the morning.
I am also from the over thirty group.

mayl · 01/12/2008 22:10

Another new one here. Just found out expecting #3 but had MMC at 12 wks in September so feeling a little nervous. A DD and DS already and will be 37 as well, (if all goes to plan) when this one arrives.

Look forward to getting to know you all!

BabyBump2B · 02/12/2008 02:16

Hi All - I'm feeling really anxious. I had 3 BFPs over the weekend so went to the Dr today to check in and their "pee" test came back BFN.

They sent me to get a bloodtest but I won't get the results till tomorrow. I did pick up another test on the way home and it was BFP but I'm still a little worried something went wrong...

anniecam38 · 02/12/2008 08:52

Hello and welcome mayl. BabyBump2B I wouldnt get too worried about yor BFN at the dr,s, theyre pregnancy tests are notoriously unreliable. One of my friends works at a GP,s practice and did 5 of their tests getting BFN,s each time, soon as she did a First Response test she got a BFP with a really strong line.

cairns · 02/12/2008 09:29

Welcome, Welcome everyone.

Hope your feeling better BlueSatinsash.
Babybump2B. I had the same thing with the Dr's tests too last time with DS1. Don't think they are sensitive enough for very early pregnancy.

Clare1234. I too had some spotting (very dark) but have put this down to implantation bleeding as the same thing happened with DS1. But any bright red bleeding in pregnancy should be checked out.

I enjoyed my booking in appt with my GP as I had a lovely GP last time. The attached midwife wasn;t so great though (was away or on holiday throughout my last trimester so I could never book an appt! and told me about the antenatal classes after they had happened!), but my GP took over instead. I did make a tiny mistake last time at booking in, as I was asked to choose my hospital. I hadn't a clue so just went with the nearest/suggested. Turned out to be a mistake (I won't scare you with the stories). This time I have done my research and know which hospital I would prefer to be booked in to and it is important in my area to do this as early as poss... wish I had done that last time.

I too am in my 30's.. will be 34 in Jan..

Good luck at all the booking in appts everyone

2HotCrossBunnies · 02/12/2008 09:38

Morning all. Congratulations to the new ladies. Hope everyone is feeling as well as can be expected - I too have "afternoon" sickness so far but am expecting that to change to "all day" soon .

My gps didn't do a pg test for my last 2 - they say the over the counter ones are so reliable they don't need to. I've got to take my DS1 for an appointment tomorrow afternoon so will use that as an opportunity to mention this pg. DH is much better about it now he has had a couple of days for the news to sink in.

Oh and Nuttygirl I think I remember you from the April07 antenatal group? I was Hotlipsmummy then but wasn't involved in the post natal group - couldn't keep up and look after 2DCs!!

Keep warm all x

nuttygirl · 02/12/2008 09:41

Oh yes Cairns I picked the nearest hospital last time too, though they said it was easy enough to change if I changed my mind. Anyway looked into it and decided that was the better one after all - more birthing pools, etc. Anyway, definitely not going there again. Am hoping for a homebirth but will be going to a different hospital anyway for scans etc. just in case I can't get a hb (know it's my choice but there are cases where I'd choose a hospital birth iykwim).

nuttygirl · 02/12/2008 09:42

Yes 2HCB that's me

Uki · 02/12/2008 10:24

Hi everyone new and welcome ,
yep please excuse the extreme tiredness and laziness in not writing names, and come put your feet up this way with me.

sounds like we are nearly all over 30, i'll be 34 next year.

very busy with work this week, hope I can get through it.

Ilovebeingamummy · 02/12/2008 11:05

Hi all and congrats,

I got BFP at 6am today and still worried its a dream....had a mc at 5+2 in sept and very worried about it happening again.

I am 28 - dd 3 1/2 , ds 22 mths....8 mth bigger age gap this time if all goes well.

The thought that this time the balance of 2 girls 2 boys in the family will be changed in favour of one or the other is very odd to me right now too!

Zorra · 02/12/2008 11:14

BFP last week for me, I'm 29 and this will be my first. I still don't believe it's happening at all, ust trying to be good and not worry too much! EDD (worked out by me, DP and t'interweb) is 1st August

nuttygirl · 02/12/2008 16:43

Welcome!

Another 20's girl here - 27 (with one dd). Sickness not too bad today but it's terrifying walking on icy paths cos I'm really worried about falling.

The tiredness is getting worse and that's not good cos I have loads to do this week (have a craft fair type of thing on Sunday - it's an open house at someone else's and need to get stock made). I only really get chance to make stuff in an evening and that's when I feel most tired. Am hoping roast dinner tonight will give me energy

Hi All! Well Dr confirmed BFP - very early days but a positive none the less! VERY relieved. Just need to get through the next 8 weeks!

I'll be 34 next year (April) too and this is my first!

I'm feeling a strange mix of thrilled excitement, anxiety and a want to do something. Anyone else feel similar?

SpecialOffer · 02/12/2008 18:19

Wow - so many new people on the thread - its going to be a busy August next year

I am a 20s girl (well only just) I turn 30 in January....... well just oj for me then!!

I have full on hormones at the moment, just keep bursting into tears, dh has no idea what he has done!

Babybump - the home tests are so reliable, and I would assume that the Drs one just wasn't sensative enough as we are all early on! My drs don't even confirm pregnancy, they say the home tests are better!

Wishing · 02/12/2008 18:24

Gemdangracie dont know if you remember me from the ttc thread!! ws wondering if any of you ladies noticed an increase in CM???? I got a bfn yesterday but af due last sat???

bluesatinsash · 02/12/2008 20:01

Welcome Zorro and Ilovebeingamummy

Great news BabyBump! Ah yes, the 8 week wait...it's a nightmare but December is a busy month with all things Christmas so the weeks will hopefully fly in .

Wishing - I had no CM the week before my BFP and I thought I was getting AF. CM has been increasing since BFP though...

SpecialOffer - I was in tears earlier listening to a feature on radio 2 about Jewish children being saved before the war. I was standing in my kitchen blubbing and then 'Fields of Gold' by Eva Cassidy came on and did me in - sob!

mayl · 02/12/2008 20:28

It looks like this is going to be a busy August. Congrats to all, how are you all feeling? I still feel totally normal, no niggly pain in my abdomen as in my previous pregnancys, which always happened between 4-5 weeks.

By the way, according to the pregnancy calculator my EDD should be the 7th Aug.

anniecam38 · 02/12/2008 21:14

Welcome to all the new ladies.
Wishing I can echo what bluesatinsash says re CM-hardly any week before BFP now steadily increasing. Have you tried just an ordinary test or a early response test?

I too am feeling very emotional, watched Divas on ITV2 last week and sobbed my heart out when Dionne Warwick sang Thats What Friends Are For.
Im picking on my poor DH as well for the slightest thing-poor soul!

TaleofTwoCities · 02/12/2008 21:44

Hello, can I join, got bfp a few hours ago, LMP 28 Oct. Not sure when I'm due but must be beginning of Aug. We already have 2 dcs and this is somewhat of a surprise. I can't help but be happy but dh is not at all happy It's not really practical as our house is too small, our car is too small and our income is too small!!!!! Still in suspended disbelief.

anniecam38 · 02/12/2008 22:03

Welcome TaleofTwoCities, congratulations on your BFP. Dont worry bout your DH, men sometimes take a while to get their heads round these things and he will probably feel happier about it in a couple of days when the news has sunk in.

Wishing · 02/12/2008 22:20

thank you ladies!! good luck to you all, wishing you very happy and healthy 9 months!!

xxxxx

Zorra · 03/12/2008 05:44

How is everyone today?

I've got a really sore lower back and can't get over the desire to sleeeeeeeep all the time (not helpful, it's end-of-year reports time ) Plus I am queasy and an unfortunate micture of starving all the time and not fancying anything to eat

Have a lovely day everyone - here's waiting til 8pm when it's time to fall into bed again

gemdangracie · 03/12/2008 09:52

Yes, tiredness here too. Unfortunately though when I'm in bed I can't seem to get to sleep so that's probably making it worse.

I have my booking in appointment on Monday. Am not looking forward to them taking blood. I have terrible veins and they struggle to get any blood out, last time they had to stab me twice and I ended up with huge bruises. Luckily they got it the second time or else they were going to send me to the hospital path lab for them to have a go at stabbing me.

I've also contacted a couple of Doulas. I know it's really early but I'm really keen to have one and there's only a couple that are what I'd say was 'near enough' to us so I don't want them to get booked up. So I'm preparing interview questions - feels a bit strange.
