My bump has really grown in the past week. It is really sticking out and I feel huge. I look like Im 6 months preggers.

I have felt movement too.

Hello everybody, So many people on here now!!

Heinz - Really glad to hear about your friend, must be a huge relief.

Lifesaboxofchoccies I have had that bum pain!! I was told it was sciatic nerve being pressed ( probably spelt wrong!) and I was told it was caused by ligaments in my back loosening because of all the relaxin ( also probably spelt wrong) in my body and pressure against the nerve by the baby - if it gets really bad or repetative speak to an osteopath, a good one can see u after 12 weeks.

Have a question for all you super knowledgable ladies

I know this sounds daft, but every time I eat somthing sweet, ( had a piece of birthday cake yesterday) I immediatly get a very strange/horrible taste in my mouth and feel really really sick. I am due a gtt test soon but I am a bit worried that this might suggest a problem. Any ideas?

New thread name what about:

Its the second trimester!! - Does my bump look big in this???

Mind you we might need it for later lol!!

LittleFairySmile · 08/02/2009 15:44

Such a fast moving thread here.

Hi all, and hope those of you struggling are feeling better!

I'm eating heaps of peanut butter too! Did with DS, so not so worred. He's been eating it with me (our snacks have been peanut butter on toast for the last three weeks!!)

Tell me I'm mad, but DH and I are now seriously considering borrowing finding the money for an independent midwife! Have spoken to two now, and are very happy with the route. Just it's a lot of money and we are not in a good place, but in years to come will I be always kicking myself with 'what if'?

loopylou25 · 08/02/2009 18:07

hi all

kitkatqueen i have also been getting that strange horrible taste after eating sweet things think i remember having it with last daughter too.

My sickness seems to be much better now finally but have a bad virus thing now so feel rubbish again anyway. Also my bump has grown loads the last week feel massive already.

Heinz so good to hear the good news about your friend hope they continue to improve.

kitkatqueen · 08/02/2009 18:14

Thanks loopylou - was starting to think I was going nuts!! I have never had this before and as this is baby no4 I was starting to think it couldn't be pregnancy related. - I've had just about everything else!!LOL

Good news tho is that I still haven't put any weight on and in the last 3 I had put on loads by now!

nuttygirl · 08/02/2009 18:37

LittleFairySmile - is there a particular reason you're thinking of hiring an IM? It's something I'd love to do but can't afford (and can't afford to borrow the money). I know it has lots of benefits like you see the same person all the way through and get a lot more 'support' in your choices. Just wondering as we've gone down the doula route as I felt I could put up with the seeing various midwives, arguing my side but wanted a bit more support for the actual birth bit.

Starting to worry about spd here. Can anyone tell me how it started for them? I had a bit of hip pain last time but not too bad. This time though I'm getting achey hips if I walk too far. Also if I've been lounging on the sofa I can hardly walk when I get up. Last night dh had to help me get across the living room when I got up . Things did loosen up a bit once I'd got that far and I thought spd got worse as you walked iykwim so not sure if it is that or maybe I'm wrong about it!

HeinzSight · 08/02/2009 21:16

nuttygirl, my spd started at 16 weeks last pregnancy, I was initially affected when I tried to roll over in bed - ouch. You have my sympathy x

kitkatqueen, I ate one of my boys oven chips earlier and it tasted overwhelmingly like soap - urgh. Hormones ! I think your thread suggestion is fabio, I think we should use it for the one after next like you say, when our bumps are a bit bigger
