Thats good you have managed to get in earlyish nuttygirl..Its bad tho, that you cant even get to see a midwife! when i was pg wth my DD we didnt have any trouble getting to see her when we needed to! (was every week from 26 weeks)

We will have to see if she replies to the email the receptionist sent her!! hopefully i can get booked in bevore i go to see my consultant!

It is also finally sinking in that i am prengant, was sick yesterday morning and my boobs are really sore today!

gemandgracie - on my ds I dodn't get to see a midwife until I was 17 weeks - its shocking. This time they have booked me in for 8weeks for my booking appt!! Mine is 20th December.

It is also starting to sink in that I am pregnant. I am feeling sick a lot, and I don't want my coffee in the morning

I too turned down my morning coffee for the first time today as couldnt face it. Had a couple of strong waves of nausea too.

nuttygirl · 26/11/2008 21:35

My sickness seems to have improved but I expect it to reappear once I get the folic acid tablets as it seemed to be those that caused my morning sickness last time. Am thinking of maybe getting pregnacare tablets rather than the doctor's prescribed ones to see if they're any better.

My main problem at the moment is feeling achey, which of course is making me feel paranoid and checking my knickers all the time

anniecam38 · 26/11/2008 21:38

Know exactly where your coming from there nuttygirl.

nellyup · 27/11/2008 09:30

nuttygirl my first pregnancy I took pregnacare - never again, I was soooooo sick after them. Funny how different thing affect people differently, isn't it. This time am sticking to plain old folic acid, seem to be OK on that but had to get the old polos out on the way to school this morning!

cairns · 27/11/2008 13:22

Hi ladies. Hope it is OK that I join you.

Got my BFP yesterday. Am probably due around 1st Aug. Still all a bit of a (nice) surprise as we weren't supposed to 'try' until after Xmas. DH is mortified as he was looking forward to the trying phase

I have a DS1 born July 07 and am excited but also wondering what it will be like this time.

I too was horribly sicky with DS1.... although thanks for the advice re the folic acid tablets. I took sanatogen ones last time but have just started taking the Boots New Mum ones this time as I find them easier to take.

cairns · 27/11/2008 13:27

sorry should have said 'mum to be' ones, as the new mum ones don't contain enough folic acid

nuttygirl · 27/11/2008 13:49

Welcome Cairns. lol @ your dh

I might try the Boots ones then. I might join their parenting club again cos there were some big discounts last time

SpecialOffer · 27/11/2008 19:09

welcome cairns - my son is a July 07 as well, in fact he was a 07.07.07 - guess I can't beat theat birthday this time!!

I have spent most of the day feeling either like I am gonna pass out or vomit! NICE

Specialoffer - poop to feeling sicky & like passing out. You'll have to have your baby on 07/08/09 this time

fairylights · 28/11/2008 09:00

hello there..think i will be joining you ladies, i have had a BFP this morning - this was our first attempt at TTC dc2, we have one ds who is just 2 - he has chicken pox at the moment and the dr said he shouldn't got near pg women so i hope it will be ok - i have had chicken pox anyway so think its alright..according to my google searches!
Anyway, feels too early to be excited (although of course i am a bit...!)and in my last pg i had hyperemesis (extreme vomitting) for 5 months and ended up in hospital on a drip a couple of times so although it will be wonderful to have another baby, i am not exactly looking forward to the weeks/months ahead!!
Think i would have a due date of 7th August

anniecam38 · 28/11/2008 10:08

Welcome fairylights. Hope your DS isnt suffering too badly with the chicken pox-poor thing. Poor you having severe morning sickness last time, i hope you get off lightly this time round. I got away quite lightly last pregnancy but am feeling quite sicky already so dont know if i,ll be so lucky this time

bluesatinsash · 28/11/2008 11:13

Morning ladies,

After much debating and wringing of hands I've decided to be brave and join you, (if I may!). I got a BFP last Friday and am 5 weeks tomorrow. I had a mc in August at 8 weeks and vowed not to join another ante-natal thread as I had to bow out of April 09 one. I'm on the pregnancy after mc thread but they are all much further on than me that I can't really relate IYKWIM.

Symptoms so far are not much other than increased boob size which I'm enjoying! My ms kicked in @ 6 weeks with ds and I didn't have any last time which I knew at the time meant something was wrong (not that not having ms always means something is wrong but in my body it does).

Anyway, and congratulations to everyone and specialoffer my ds was born on 06/06/06 so maybe this one might be 07/08/09?!

Hello everyone, I have been away for 5 days and it is nice to see so many new ladies joining. I need to catch up first.
Starting being quite tired in the evening. Normally not going to bed before 12 but last night I fell asleep on the sofa at 10.

Hope88 · 28/11/2008 17:01

O.K. I have managed to read back all the posts since I went away so this is my welcome to Anniecam38 UKI funnysinthegarden nuttygirl nellyup FaeriePrincess Skydancer Cairns Bluesatinsash Hope I haven't missed anybody new since last Saturday.

FaeriePrincess · 28/11/2008 23:03

Hi Hope. Thanks for the welcome.

I am just waiting for my booking appointment now.

I haven't had MS yet, or should I say 'all day sickness' because I was actually fine until about 10.00 am last time and then I got really sick as the day went on. Can't remember when it started last time though, I was completely in a different situation.

Uki · 29/11/2008 05:26

Hi Everyone

I have been sooo sick, but not with morning sickness, food poisoning or so I thought. it turned out to be a stomach bug as dh got it last night. not the way to start a pregnancy, now i'm worried
I should be OK though stomach bugs and the like are only bad if you get really sick and they enter the bloodstrem, which is what listerious (sp) does, so stay away from those soft cheeses!!!

I seem to be in the right place as we are all a bit worried. I feel like this 3-4WW is so much worse than the 2WW.
I guess i"m lucky to have a scan at about 7-8 weeks.

anniecam - how are yo going now?

pinkranger- thank you, are you going to come join us, you sound a little clucky

re vitamins- i found taking them just before bed so much better than taking them in the morning, as you don't feel sick when asleep from them.

anyone planning on telling people of pg's before christmas?

cairns · 29/11/2008 10:19

Welcome to all those new BFPs!!

Uki I know what you mean on telling people. I only told my SIL and MIL last time at around 8 weeks, because it was mighty obvious during famiy meals with my refusal of booze and they guessed. I ended up telling the rest of the close family at Xmas (my DS1 was born end July) again due to the lack of booze issue. Although I really didn't want to tell anyone until after the 12/13wk scan. We actually paid for a scan privately at 6-8wks because I had a few early MC before DS1 and we wanted the comfort of seeing the little beans heartbeat (the best £50 I have ever spent!), that gave us the reassurance to tell people.

This time around I think I will have to tell the rest of the family again at pre Xmas gatherings early Dec (as avoidance of wine during meals will rear up again... v v obvious in our household!)

Hello and welcome MarxAndSparks and the new BFP,s and everone else.

Uki-hello and sorry to hear youve had a stomach bug, my DH and DS had it last week but i thankfully seemed to have escaped it ( hope i havent spoke too soon!)

Ive been to see my lovely Dr and shes advised i see the midwife at 7 weeks instead of the usual 10 weeks, and they may give me an early scan at 8 weeks-which would be lovely as just scrape in before Christmas.

Cairns- I know where yr coming from when you say the fact that your not drinking alcohol would be a dead giveaway, I havent told anyone yet,DH aside, but my best friend is staying for Christmas and she will know straightaway when i declined the booze, so will have to tell her.
