Oh where did all those posts come from!

Thanks ChocolateGal I am much more relaxed about whole thing now. Am certainly no expert in this field but know that being relaxed is best option if you want babies to come out - they seem to know if coast is clear! Anyway it is good practice for labour as I am sure the reason I went from 3cm to 10cm in a relatively short period of time when having DS was due to the diamorphine 'relaxing' me! In fact it happened so quickly the hospital sent DH home thinking it would be hours yet! (Note to all, make sure they check YOU first before sending any birth partners home!!!)

I am so glad my post made you feel a bit better Barbs as I really wanted it show they don't always get it right and can cause unnecessary worry.

It was silly of MW to say hb was a bit slow and then say it was fine. Obv that would concern any pg woman!! But I would concentrate on that last bit, if she was worried she would have to have done more to get it checked. Also you are seeing them tomorrow at hosp so you can get more info then.

Cephalic is good it means he is head down as for the long bit I have no idea I am afraid but ask them tomorrow (suspect someone on here will know tho). Don't fret he is engaged and that is good news!

I know MonkeyM but the stoopid site won't let me on to play!!!!

LOL at the 'fisted'! But if baby is ready it may just do the trick. I certainly prefer idea of it to the nasty drip. But PMA it may never come to that!!!!

Waves to Hana too.

Yes and boy's HB sound like a train! If that is true then I am having another boy as HB sounds exactly like DS did (fast and train like)! We'll see!

thank yooo!! Feel loads better about hb now. He's moving around fine, hiccuping and the like so that's good!

Yay Barbs that is good news!

I have never noticed hiccups! I just seem to get harsh kicks in ribs and like! Hiccups sound so much nicer!!

had another show earlier today. feeling a bit like i want to hide away, but could be becuase i am tired. midwife has booked me an appointment for next week on my due date but is hoping things get moving before then. had a chat about how far they'd let me go over by if it came to it, before they would consider induction (which i'd rather avoid tbh).

so one week till due date. think i should book in some fun things between now and then to keep me busy. might see if dh fancies the cinema tomorrow night.

misdee Sounds like things are still moving in the right direction It must be quite frustrating having to wait when your body is giving all the signs that labour is about to start!
Totally understand desire to hide away - and also to do fun stuff!! I can't be arsed to do anything but it has definitely made time pass more quickly having a few things planned!! Hang on in there - I reckon you'll 'go' before me (i was due yesterday - don't these babies know it's their birthday???)

Babyphee isn't due until the 29th but I'm starting to think I might go overdue. I saw my new midwife on Monday and baby isn't engaged yet but seems to be heading in the right direction which is good.

Right, need to go make DH a drink as he's busy working on the nursery so will try to pop back soon. Good luck to everyone who is eagerly waiting

Evening all - busy day on here today!

Sparks glad the scan went well and your mind is at ease now - babies are stubborn buggers and come when they want to

Monkey that message from Fourlittlefeet also made me think you were in labour too - I bet you wish you were!!

Barbs honestly, midwives are so stoopid sometimes and really need to think before they open their mouths! Today, when mine was trying to find babies heartbeat, she kept finding what I thought was the heartbeat but then trying the other side to find the same thing and so on over and over again - was starting to panic tbh as she just kept moving the doppler thing round - then muttered something about it being 'wooshy' cos the placenta was in the way but it was ok

Btw, I thought the old wives tale was that the slower hearbeat indicates a boy - certainly that is what I was told and my last MW appointment when she listened in - she said that if I hadn't already known it was a boy, she would have guessed that as the hb was slow.

Misdee sounds like it may be soon for you - hopefully - planning loads of things in sounds like a good idea.

Gosh this is a bit of a waffly post isn't it?

sparkletoes · 12/11/2008 20:13

Hi Ceebs! Yes just another scan to prove that MW is wrong, again!

In no hurry for this one yet tho but it would stop all the texts asking if baby has arrived already? I knew this would happen esp as DS was 'on time' but I am not even due til Fri!!

LOL at you being told slow HB = boy! Just proves to me that it is what it is - an old wives tale!

Waffle away - is what we are here for!

Hello all
Congratulations vbab and mr vbab! Wow what a speedy delivery! beautiful name, too.

sparkle that is good news. I agree with you about them not always getting things right, all sorts of stuff was potentially wrong with dinkyminky but she is just fine.

misdee all sounds good.

barb sounds like your mw has serious foot in mouth disease- silly person getting you worried like that!

Hi Sparkle thing going well here, thanks. DD1 has been having the abdabs at bedtime now I'm on my own again, but I'm hoping that will settle down soon.
Had a bit of a bleed the other day, HV told me I was doing too much- not sure what I'm meant to do about that!

But little dinky is doing really well. Washed her today and she really enjoyed it, and she is completely unphased by the chaos created by her siblings- she is soo chilled!

Hope your DS gets better soon.

sparkletoes · 12/11/2008 21:05

Hmm yeah exactly what are you supposed to do there...

That is exactly what the girl I met in the cafe said about her DC number 3! She even called him 'Finlay Nae Bother' he was so chilled in comparison!

Hope the other two take little dinky's example soon!
