Congratulations!!!!!!

Well done, was it starting your other thread
that started it off? Gosh, no pain relief, you hardass, I am so in awe! Damn shame about the placenta but at least you had your lovely baby by then. What a gorgeous name, as well.

Now get yourself over to the dark side, where all is lovely and there are cooing and giggling babies who smell of milk and are wearing lovely cardigans!

Well Done RI and welcome Tirion ; what a lovely name and meaning.

Well Done you on your home water birth and I salute you not having any pain relief. It's a shame about the placenta though, but glad you are doing OK now.

See you on the dark side soon

HELLO!!!!! Please welcome to the world my brand new baby girl Tirion Griffiths, born Tuesday 2nd December at 2153, weighing 6lb 14oz.

Tirion means "gentle" in Welsh, although, can I just say OMG that was INTENSE!

I'll post the whole birth story when I get a chance, but to summarise, I managed my home water birth (from 5.30 am to first twinges, to established labour about 9am, through to delivery 13 hrs later) with no pain relief (OUCH!), only for the placenta to decide it wasn't budging and the cord to snap off resulting in a 3am ambulance trip to Kings (London) where I ended up having to have G+A and subsequent spinal and manual removal (all a bit James Herriot with surgeon built like a rugby second row, rubber gloves up to his shoulders having a good old rummage and having to bring it out in bits - (it didn't separate from the uterus at all), but there you go. Tirion and I had to stay in the rest of the night until I got my legs back, but we got out next day at lunchtime.

I am slightly traumatised by the state of my bum

My DH and Mum and MWs were amazing throughout the whole process and I am as happy as a sand-boy and on cloud 9 over my beautiful little girl. I still can't believe I am a mummy!

So I can officially join you on the dark side now. PHEW!

Lol incubator...you can do all three if you like

you'll feel much less mad though if you at least talk to someone though

try crying at the midwife! Not sure whether she will do it or not; some will and some won't as far as I know.

still here - still no sign, so I am now officially going to have a December baby! . What is the etiquette now? Do I sit here and talk to myself, introduce myself to the December lot, or join the post natal thread prematurely???

I haven't been doing anything much to try and hurry things along over the weekend, but I think it is now time for raspberry leaf tea, bouncing up and down on an exercise ball, eating pineapple and anything else that might start things moving - any more ideas gratefully received(although probably not a shag - unfortunately DH finds the idea of sticking his willy anywhere near where the baby's head is about as appealing as having his scrotum hammered to a plank with a rusty nail, so I don't think its going to happen that way, even though I am game ....). MW coming tomorrow - is she likely to offer a sweep at 40+3? (3 days over by ultrasound date or 4 by LMP)??
