best to everyone

LeakyDAISYcal · 27/11/2008 18:25

Good news toolly.......will watch this space and hope that you get your homebirth.

Not good news about the car tegan, but I'm glad your DH is OK.

Hope things pick up again for you RI. It's be good to have a baby arrive on it's actual due date for once

tegan · 27/11/2008 18:40

Thanks everyone. dh is fine apart from having a dent in his pride to go with the car.

Had a phone call this afternoon from my uncle to say that my cousin who gave birth on saturday by emergency c-section had had a sroke and been rushed to hospital, but due to the car situation i can't even visit her.

reluctantincubator · 27/11/2008 19:12

bloomin' heck, how awful - I hope your cousin is OK. Is the stroke thought to be related to the birth/EmCS or unfortunate coincidence?

Yorky · 27/11/2008 19:28

Wow Tegan, what a dramatic week for your family - hope everyone is OK

ceebee74 · 28/11/2008 08:54

Tegan - poor you - what a bad week and the very very last things you need to be dealing with at the moment. Really hope your cousin pulls through - how awful

Pinkyminkee · 28/11/2008 11:23

tegan what a terrible thing to happen to your cousin. I hope she makes a full recovery.

LeakyDAISYcal · 28/11/2008 16:16

LeakyDAISYcal · 28/11/2008 18:55

Congratulations Tegan and welcome to Owen

your poor DH, missing it all, and poor you doing it without him .....not to mention your poor bed!!

Sounds like it was all very quick though.

Come and join us on the dark side

barbareebaa · 28/11/2008 19:03

Hello! Hope everyone's well, got back from hospital last night after having blood transfusion - got a bit scary!

Haven't had chance to catch up properly with everyone's news, but so pleased to see DrsWife has finally welcomed her little one to the world!

Love being a mum - pics on profile of William!

Barbs xx

LeakyDAISYcal · 28/11/2008 19:13

barbs. Are you OK? sounds very scary. I narrowly missed one due to very low iron levels.

Congratulations and welcome to William

PS I can't see your profile? have you got it set to visible to all?

barbareebaa · 28/11/2008 20:24

oops sorry - sorted!!

Leaky () - my booobs hurt Not cracked nipples - just ache and is murder to feed - practically need something to bite down on when Will feeds
Is that normal? Can I do something to stop it? Will it go away?

Am o.k btw - was in danger of cardiac arrest and was given 3 units of blood. Awful! Am going to write up birth story some time - dh was an absolute star but neither of us expected what happened. I love my boy so much and it hasn't affected bonding - in fact we both ended up a little battle scarred so I feel we have been healing each other!!

Anyway, shouldn't go on!! Have just had my first bath (omg heaven) and now soothing my poor noobles with ice in a flannel. Oh the glamour!!

LeakyDAISYcal · 28/11/2008 20:39

I've always had that initial pain when starting off feeding, but it usually settles down after the first week. If it is only on latching and settles after a few seconds then it's nothing to worry about and as I said, will stop. If it continues through the feed then he isn't latching properly so you should take him off and relatch. Often some women have a really painful letdown as well, but this too should settle after a week or so.

I'm glad you are so loved up with him....it's amazing isn't it?

ceebee74 · 28/11/2008 20:49

Tegan congratulations on the arrival of Owen. Love the name - it is one of my fave boys names but DH wouldn't entertain anything Welsh-related I hope DH isn't too upset at missing the birth?

Pinkyminkee · 28/11/2008 20:57

congratulations, tegan well done, shame your DH missed it. Glad all ok.

Hope you are ok barbs

chocolategal · 28/11/2008 21:51

congratulations tegan and welcome Owen

how do all you ladies keep up these days!?

my beautiful boy is now 5days old and dont know where the time has gone

barbs glad you are ok, my birth wasnt the most straightforward either but i absolutely adore my little boy and would do it again for him!

i also had that problem when feeding and i think one night i bit down on one of his bibs!!! no joke!!

i am now bottle feeding, not due to that just a mixture of things and it is working out better for us all.
really wish i could have carried on as it is a special time between mum and baby, but trying not to feel too guilty over stopping as i am happier now.

hello to everyone else,
im off to bed to get a few hours sleep
xx

chocolategal · 28/11/2008 21:56

oh, pics on profile

Pinkyminkee · 28/11/2008 22:14

Hi choc lovely photos!

twinkle183 · 28/11/2008 22:30

Congrats to all the new babies since I have last logged on!!!

What a beautiful name Tegan...

Have just been diagnosed with Mastitis and have a cracked left nipple - I am not happy My left boob is the same colour as rudolphs nose.... so am on antibotic cream and tablets! So, I can't feed on it cos of the nipple am having to spend about half an hour draining my boob in the bath submerged, twice a day!!! lol - at this rate I should be a bloody mermaid!

Hope everyone else is having a better time than me at feeding - although I must admit he is sleeping okay for now - touch wood!!!

reluctantincubator · 29/11/2008 00:06

Congrats Tegan - what an adventure .... Hope you are not too sore and can't wait to see baby pics.

Barb you sound like you were in the wars! Glad all home safe and sound now. Look forward to hearing birth story when you have a second to write it up but in the meantime, enjoy your baby love bubble!!

I am still waiting - turns out the false alarm on wednesday nnight was probably the singapore noodles I ate, not bean deciding to make an appearance! So still waiting.....

ouch twinkle. I hope it clears up soon. Just be aware that the ABs might lead to thrush for you and/or baby. We are still not clear of it, but it is much better.

Chocgal your pics are lovely; he looks like a real cutie.

I hope things get going for you RI.....can't have you on here talking to yourself for too long . We're all over HERE on the PostNatal Thread
