Jael, Well done on your Christmas shopping! I think I'll be doing mine on line cos 1- I dread the thought of trailing round shops and 2- trying to find things for people they don't need.

I'm wearing my new Next jeans DH bought for me yesterday. They are the £20 bootcut type with side panels. I don't know how many styles and types I tried on, and you knwo what - none of them felt like they would stay up! So I've gone for these and today have a belt on with them, which I'm surprised to say is comfy! Also was bought a cardy & top set from Next! Then went on line and ordered more to try! I told my hubby I needed £100 - more like £200!!

Feeling quite sick and very tired today. Hungry but don't know what i fancy...

I'm pleased all your scans have gone well. Plenty of healty plums 'n' pears out there!

Some of these days I'm going to dung out my roof space and see what baby stuff I have and what I need (Really just want to feel it all and see how small everything is!!) But think I really only need new travel system. Anyone got iCandy or Jane prams - what do you think? I hated my M&P one- loathed it!

I think the only thing we are going to buy for this baby is an Amby Hammock instead of a cot. We have everything else tucked away from DS. Of course, if we have a girl then there may well be some baby girl things to buy!

divedaisy · 10/11/2008 15:44

Same as me Ilareggub (How did you get this name?- only being nosey!!) if this is a girl there'll be plenty of stuff needed clothes wise.

My name (sorry if it is obvious) is bugger all backwards, and was the name of the village in Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood. I went to school in Swansea and the village name made me giggle as an impressionable school girl. It has special meaning for me in some other ways too, which would probably out me if I listed them here to anyone that knows me!

FiKelly · 10/11/2008 16:14

sweetbroody not all anti-histamines are ok.. i get hayfever and while pregnant with ds i had to switch types. it's the old ones that are ok.. see your gp abduction you'll get them free now we're pregnant.

jael your consultant will prob suggest an elective cs.. esp after having emcs last time with the probs. i'd love a vbac but as i had probs last time too ending with emcs i don't know if they'll let me go past my due date long enough for it to happen?

FiKelly · 10/11/2008 16:24

Sorry about the repeat post... was surfing from my phone earlier and for some reason it decided to re-post the message I was having problems sending a few pages back! Gadgets

Nice to hear about everyone's scans & hope you're feeling better llareggub soon. btw i never sussed your name at all... but knowing what it's backwards for helps with the typing of it reversed!

JosieC · 10/11/2008 16:27

Hi, I'm new here - hope I'm in the right place...... I'm 15+3 today (due with my 1st on 1st May) and am worrying about my bump - I think I have a little one but nothing really noticeable - is this normal? My 12 wk. scan was good and have my 2nd bloods for the combined screening test this week but keep being worried that everything's ok - haven't had any pain or anything but I just can't wait for my anomaly scan in December.....

llareggub · 10/11/2008 16:39

Thanks FiKelly

Josiec, it is common not to have much of a bump with your first pregnancy. This is my 2nd pregnancy and although I am 14 weeks I'm probably as big now as I was at 20 weeks first time around. Obviously it isn't baby, but all of the organs move quicker and the ligament relax easier in subsequent pregnancies. So don't worry about it.

llareggub · 10/11/2008 16:40

Oh, and it is very normal to be worried. The worrying never ends, you know. Once you've had the baby you'll worry about every snuffle!

Try and relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

JosieC · 10/11/2008 16:51

Thanks llareggub! That's good to know. My bump seems to get bigger sometimes when I eat and a few days ago after supper I was waddling about looking v. pregnant but it had shrunk again in the morning ! I'm already worrying about all the worrying there is in store for - feel like I'm going to be completely neurotic!! Oh well I'll keep having the lavender baths and try to relax. I have huge veterinary exams in 4 weeks so I'm sure I'll feel better after those.... Thanks for your reassurance

Jael · 10/11/2008 17:19

The reason why I want an elective CS this time round is that the birth was so traumatic last time with DD. I had a very very long labour, and then ended up having a emergency CS because they decided she was too big to come out and I wasn't big enough...I then had very bad PND afterwards. I decided right from the start that I want an elective CS, but I've been talking to a few moms at my DD playgroup and they say the consultant I'm going to see is very FOR VBAC. So, that's why I'm so scared about seeing her, I actually cried last night about it...been out Christmas shopping again today lol I'm surprised I've got any money left. Only really DP to think about now for Christmas. What are you ladies all planning on getting for your other halves?

MsG · 10/11/2008 17:23

Is lavender ok to use in the second trimester? I know you are meant to avoid lavender oil (I think?) in the first trimester but is it ok to use ALL essential oils after this time??

xx

JosieC · 10/11/2008 17:42

I think Lavender oil is safe from the 2nd trimester. This is quite a useful list of oils and when you can + can't use them:www.aromacaring.co.uk/essential_oils_and_pregnancy.htm but my bubble bath is just cheapo stuff so I imagine it's not actual essential oil anyway! I just find it really gears me up for a good night's sleep, and with the dreams I've been having recently I need all the help I can get!

LoobyLou36 · 10/11/2008 17:46

Got first appointment with consultant tommorrow morning. I've been suffering with headaches almost continually for the last 3 to 4 weeks do you think Ishould mention them? I suffer from high bp, which I'm taking methyldopa for, hence the consultant referral so headaches might be due to this?

SweetBROODY · 10/11/2008 18:02

Looby Defo you should mention this if nothing else to put your mind at rest...

SpangleMaker · 10/11/2008 18:06

Off work today - pre-arranged as I had a busy weekend with two late nights - my step-sis's 30th birthday party on Saturday and a gig on Sunday night. Definitely needed a sleep in! Had a relaxing day catching up on laundry and on-line Christmas shopping. I've actually done most of it now but stuck on my Mum & her husband.

SweetBroody sorry you're having such a stressful time. Just take care of yourself as much as you can and bean will be fine.

DandyLioness congrats on your scan! And congrats to others I've missed too.

llareggub hope you're feeling better soon. What are the movements feeling like? I've been wondering if I can feel something for a while (like a faint twitching inside) but I'm really not sure; some days I feel it, others I don't. Maybe it's just wind after all

Josie welcome! I'm 15+1 and no bump to speak of - I just look a bit fat. I can feel a bump inside finishing a bit below my navel but it's not obvious from the outside.

SweetBROODY · 10/11/2008 18:11

Spangle Thank you very much I am trying to stay positive and on top of things.. hoping for the best.. it can only get better right.. had loads of guess's since DH put the pics on facebook.. its quite funny really!

I dont know how your doing it - still so active and busy i'm 11+3 and am shattered all the time

No energy for anything...

Thanks SpangleMaker
I had so much energy from 12-15 wks. and thought I was all set, but the last couple of days have been completely exhaused again and slept for 4 hours today (meant to be studying - ooops) and my DH is doing all the housework when he gets back from work - feel like a big old lump even though I don't have one yet......

SweetBROODY · 10/11/2008 18:19

I think Being neurotic is all part of it.. every twinge and ache is magnified.. but then these sad things do happen Dandy so we gotta be a little careful right!

llareggub · 10/11/2008 18:50

Note to self: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT google my symptoms for fear of turning myself into a neurotic mess.

Am trying very hard to relax!

hello JosieC & nice to have another here...

Sorry to say I'm still feeling really vile with nauseabut no vomiting... i'm at 13wks exactly today and was hoping this would disappear soon.

Managed to take DS to his activities today but it was a real struggle. Probably going to head off to bed shortly as i'm now getting some heartburn too feeling very sorry for myself and totally p'd off.

alapala · 10/11/2008 20:07

Hey girls

I am so behind. DS has been so ill all week, bit better now he is on antibiotics, but skinny as a rake. I am beyond tired from cleaning up sick every night. And to top it off we had friends over from the UK this weekend who did not lift a finger, and had me cooking their dinner whilst they sat with rheir fet up on my coffee table!! AAARRGH!!

BUT had scan today and all is well, and just one baby phew.. it waved, and DS waved back. Heart beat 168 - a girl maybe... then most painless blood test ever, with no mangled veins (a first),and a snip at 224 Euros - eek.

LoobyLou36 · 10/11/2008 20:28

FiKelly think I'm off to bed soon too. Tired as usual but at least I get a lie in tommorrow.
Must remember to do wee sample to take to consultant in the morning. But p**sed off with having to buy a pot from boots tho - 65p.
