With you ladies on salt and vinegar - in fact am trying to convince DP to go to shop and buy me some. However he's also making tea and tidying up whilst i sit on the sofa so think i'm chancing my arm really!!!

Dd seems a bit better today but very unhappy if the slightest thing goes wrong and still v sleepy baby. Hopefully she'll be back to her cheeky, funny self in the morning. She's eaten a bit today and had lots of fluid so am not as worried as I was.

Good luck with your scan alapala- hope its conclusive for you.
Am jealous that you are fluent in Spanish - best (English) friend lives in Ciudalcampo and is practically Spanish (She was so crap at it at school as well!!)

Heard Pip today at 16 week app - hb 155 which is apparently average for this stage. Feeling some flutters when its quiet and I concentrate - its v exciting.

Ok sorry to ramble - off for s and v discos..

pulapula · 18/11/2008 20:03

I find myself buying salt and vinegar kettle chips (bit pricey) and when I've craved chips I'm sure it is for the salt and vinegar- wonder why we need extra salt? Guess the vinegar thing is similar to the classic craving pickle things- again, don't know why!

detsy · 18/11/2008 20:07

Agree on the salt - had forgotten about pickles, mmm think i have a jar in the cupboard.

Still desperate for a little advocaat too..

runningmonkey · 18/11/2008 20:13

Am with you all on the salt and vinegar. My newest thing is saladcream and cheese sarnies... yum. In fact, salad cream on everything.

Momino · 18/11/2008 20:43

am really into s&v crisps.
also love pickles.

had a great american 'reuben' sandwich today - dill gherkins, mustard with sliced edam, pastrami and saurkraut with mayo. Toasted till the cheese melts. Great with cream of tomato soup (hadn't though about the rice, due1stMay).

agooboo · 18/11/2008 20:52

frazzled - I too am obsessed with cereal. Infact have just sent DH to get some Raisin Country Crisp. when I have thought about why I have an obsession with cereal I think it's to do with folic acid as cereal is full of it. plus the milk for calcium.

Jael thanks for the info re: pillows. will be ordering one very soon - I have seen the ones you mentioned - look very comfy!

detsy · 18/11/2008 20:56

Ok been to the garage - no discos - was devastated. No citrus diet coke either - was rubbish

EmmalinaC · 18/11/2008 21:00

Am very amused to read all your salt and vinegar posts. I've just eaten a huge portion of fish and chips with loads of S&V which ordinarily I hate!

And cereal cravings? Yes, yes, yes!

But Momino the very thought of that sandwich makes me queasy! Eeeeeeuw.

Alapala best of luck with your scan tomorrow - I really hope it puts your mind at rest. Got everything crossed for you.

EmmalinaC · 18/11/2008 21:10

Thought it had a gone a bit quite - just realised I'm a Celeb... has started. See you later!

detsy · 18/11/2008 21:13

We're watching the "Am I mad" thing not seen celb yet - is it any good this time or just irritating?

nauseous · 18/11/2008 21:41

Has anyone told work they're pg yet?? I am outting it off!

detsy · 18/11/2008 21:54

Told my boss ages ago as was too obvious and I rarely see him as he's in LOndon and I'm in Manchester. Think I was 10 weeks but if you can hide it for longer, I would have done that too

EmmalinaC · 18/11/2008 22:05

I told our MD as soon as I knew, as he is a good friend but it wasn't common knowledge at work until about 13 weeks. I work for a small business, though, and I've been there a long time - there wasn't really any reason not to. I didn't want any of my team to find out on Facebook!

detsy · 18/11/2008 22:06

Aw I'm all solo. DP gone to bed with DD virus symptoms and no one on here either...

EmmalinaC · 18/11/2008 22:06

detsy I'm hooked on I'm a Celeb already. I think it's gonna be a good one - if you like that sort of thing!

detsy · 18/11/2008 22:07

Ha ha crossed posts with Emma!

detsy · 18/11/2008 22:09

Will have to start watching it I guess - esp as the mad thing has finished now. I suppose it would be sensible for me to go to bed as well before DD wakes up feeling poo or Dp starts snoring...

1stMrsF · 18/11/2008 22:12

Hi everyone, I'm back from my holiday. It's taken me ages to catch up with everyone's news - so many posts! Had a lovely time in Cyprus - it was really warm and sunny and I had a good rest with afternoon naps every day. Didn't really enjoy flying - felt really sick and it's nice to be back at home with salt & vinegar crisps (yes, me too) and beans on toast to hand whenever necessary.

Welcome new people, especially magnumum - I am the other set of twins on here. I am 14+5 with non-identical twins; it's my first pregnancy. Have you come over to the multiple birth forum? There is a thread for mums of twins and mums of twins to be and I'm getting loads of advice from it.

I am still feeling sick most of the time and was absolutely exhausted last week, I think that the babies are having a growth spurt. I'm very excited as I'm going to go to Jojomamanbebe on Saturday with my mum and hopefully buy some jeans - definitely had to set aside my work trousers this week as they are much too tight!

Hope all colds and sick DCs pass quickly along with our ms. Take care all speak soon.

pulapula · 18/11/2008 22:13

I told my manager i was pg at 6 weeks- I was feeling like my performance was being affected by feeling sick/tired so thought it best to say.

I told my team today (13wks) and got lots of congrats and lots of questions etc. One colleague had guessed a while ago as she thought i'd been looking a bit pale a couple of times. No-one else had though so it was a big surprise.

1stMrsF · 18/11/2008 22:14

Sorry, last sentence makes no sense does it? Meant that those with colds get better soon and sick children also get better soon!!

detsy · 18/11/2008 22:32

Going to be sensible and go to bed - enjoy chatting girls and talk soon x

SpangleMaker · 18/11/2008 22:46

Hi all

Had 16wk midwife appointment today & heard heartbeat - yay! About 140bpm which she said was normal & seemed pleased with progress. Also blood & wee samples all clear, no nasty diseases She gave me the wee sample back, not sure why, I wasn't particularly attached to it

Virtually everyone at work knows now. I told my line manager at about 13wks as he was looking for someone to cover for me while I work on a new project for 6 months, so I had to ring him & tell him he needed someone for 18months instead! Don't think he was best pleased TBH but he managed to send me an email 'congratulations' later on. No-one in the office guessed apart from the guy at the next desk cos he overheard me & my pg friend whispering about scans.

detsy it'd be fun to meet for a coffee if you're up for it I'm busy this weekend though (at least I think I am, going round for Sun lunch at my Dad's but DH thinks it's the w/e after - he was pissed when we were invited though so I reckon I'm right ) - how about the next?

Momino · 18/11/2008 22:58

spangle, not sure about the wee sample being handed back but if someone finds out, please tell me why they can't just dump it out in the clinical environs of the surgery. I forgot to dump mine and 'rediscovered' it a couple of days later in my bag... yuk.

SpangleMaker · 18/11/2008 23:15

Momino nice! I nearly didn't notice, I assumed she'd put a new sample pot in the bounty folder thing for next time. Fortunately I wanted to see what she'd written on my notes so I found it - would NOT have been nice rediscovering a 4 week old wee sample!

Momino · 18/11/2008 23:24

how exciting to hear the heartbeat!

i don't know what the heartbeat exactly was at my 16 wk appointment but was told it was fast so i thought... another girl (is that right?). but the MW said baby's heartbeat can be quick at the early stage. i dunno.
