The Bean from pgncy stuck with her! This one is Pip....

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:19

Now its me talking to myself. DP asleep on sofa next to me - reckons he's coming down with DD's virus. I need him to wake up and get me a cold icy drink of soemthing. Am desperate for a slug of Advocaat (of all things)

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/11/2008 22:21

Detsy - I know, and it's not what anyone wants to hear but I do (unfortunately) know of 2 girls in early-mid twenties who have had downs babies having had a very low risk blood result (not nuchal, just the routine bloods at 16wks). As I said, nobody wants to hear this but unfortunately your MW was right - somebody is the one. It's just extremely, extremely unlikely to be you. It's like being told your chances of winning a million pounds in a lottery was 1:1000 - you wouldn't even consider it as an option would you?
I guess I know you're right and to get the answer I want it would have to be amnio. I just feel (and look) much more pg than I did at 12 wks when I was in for the failed CVS and would be devestated to lose this baby now.
However, (and this may not go down well with some people -sorry) - I would act on the result if it were Downs, Edwards or another similar result. That's the decision DH and I have made, for our benefit and that of our girls. This is based on personal experience of living with SN sibling and uncle.
As I said, apologies if this offends.
May have to go to bed in a minute. Eyes are stinging!

EmmalinaC · 17/11/2008 22:21

Current pregnancy name for our LO is Nemo - chosen by DD.

What do you all call your bumps?!

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:22

yay my ebay listings are nearly done... just 12 more dvd's to go!

detsy sorry to hear you'll be taking DD back to docs

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:24

Got 16 week appt at MW tomo so hoping to hear h/b. Right off to get my own choc fondant and icy drink of something yummy

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/11/2008 22:25

Destsy my bedroom is a sort of cappuccino / coffee with a few pale bluey accents. Ladies of good taste, obviously.

I've only ever bought Calpol Night from Boots. Tesco, Sainsburys, and other places / chemists I've tried don't have it, just normal Calpol. Boots is the place to go!

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/11/2008 22:27

Good luck tomorrow Detsy.
Feel a bit mean - this poor neglected almost 15wk old bump has no name! Will need to give it some thought.........

EmmalinaC · 17/11/2008 22:29

Never even heard of Calpol Night but will definitely look out for it. It sounds miraculous! Does it taste like regular Calpol?

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:31

frazzle yes then you have to go for the amnio - the associated risks - whilst they are there are very low aren't they? Its such a bugger that pregnancy is not the breeze it should be with the advancement of technology. It tells us so much more but also gives us so many more difficult decsions to make. Try to relax over next 2 weeks and go with the decision you've made.

I stupidly didn't realise that even when my mum was pg with me that there were no scans etc! probably made things easier to be honest!

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:33

Beat you to Boots Emma for the Calpol Night!!

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/11/2008 22:33

No, EmmalinaC it tastes different - not as nice and its clear not pink. But DD2 still takes it. And it works, so it's all good!
My super-mum friend (who has 4 under the age of 5) put me onto it - I think it was a life saver for her on several bad nights of teething and colds!
Night ladies, sleep tight. x

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:34

we've got medised in our medicine stock too. But will look out for calpol night next time i'm in town...

EmmalinaC · 17/11/2008 22:35

'4 under the age of 5'

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:38

4 under the age of 5 def qualifies for a super mum i'm wondering how i'll cope with 2 kids, old dog and DH!

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/11/2008 22:38

Yes, and she'd love another one. Her DH has said NO (for now, anyway!) She's just very laid back.

EmmalinaC · 17/11/2008 22:41

I am completely in awe! I am nervous about having 2 under 3, which suddenly sounds rather pathetic.

Oh yes, FiKelly, and a dog! Surely that counts?

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:43

Echo to 4 under 5 - my goodness is that biologically possible

Gosh I'm panicking about 2 under 2 come May

Had my scrummy choc fondant and icy diet coke - think I'm off to do a bit of retail. I am so bloody totally useless with money

EmmalinaC · 17/11/2008 22:43

Right, I'm off to bed. Hope you all get plenty of rest! x

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:43

I haven't got a name for this one... except calling my tum the bump! maybe that's going to be this ones nick name?

detsy · 17/11/2008 22:45

No dog but 2 fish - they count surely..???

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:49

detsy i'm still trying to not feel guilty about ordering the sexy black hot milk number from figleaves over the week end. not told DH yet & expecting it to arrive tomorrow. Will wait until i've tried it on and if it's ok then I'll fess up. If it's no good then I'll just send it back and keep quiet

FiKelly · 17/11/2008 22:55

I do feel that old douglas now 15yrs old (the dog) does sometimes count as another LO especially recently as he's had a lot of trips to the vet over the last few years with peeing problems... he keeps getting UTI's and they can't figure out why. Come to the conclusion it's just his age... but do get fed up at times scrubbing the carpet for the umpteenth time when he gets another bout... more hassle than DH or DS has ever been!

pulapula · 17/11/2008 22:57

I'll have 3 under 5 which I thought was pretty good going, but 4! . However, a friend of mine has 2 under 1, and not twins either! 11 months between the 2 of them. That is hard work!

pulapula · 17/11/2008 22:59

No name for the bump here, but never have had one. A friend of mine gave her baby her bump name (Poppy).
