Hello - I am Clare and due on the 6th May with mine and my husband's first. All lovely at first scan and 20 week scan on 15th Dec.

Very exciting!!

Jools - thinking of you, really hoping this is just one of those unexplained things. Sorry you have to go through this. I wish it was easy for everyone. xxx

runningmonkey · 11/11/2008 17:27

Wow just caught up.

Jools I am thinking of you xxxxxx

MsG · 11/11/2008 17:43

Jools, let us know when you can. xxx

MrsEvs · 11/11/2008 17:57

Oh Jools how scary and awful for you, I'm so sorry . Let us know what they say. (hugs)

llareggub · 11/11/2008 17:58

Jools I'm sure we are all thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

daizydoo · 11/11/2008 19:00

Thinking of you Jools.

FiKelly · 11/11/2008 19:03

jools thinking of you.. how terrifying for you and dh big squeezey hugs xx

SpangleMaker · 11/11/2008 19:07

Just got in and caught up

Jools what a horrible experience. Thinking about you and hoping it's not as bad as you fear xx

Jools1 · 11/11/2008 19:09

Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone.

Unfortunately it obviously wasn't meant to be - internal exam confirms cervix wide open and nothing left, so all that remains is a scan sometime tomorrow to check for "retained products of conception" - horrible term and I can close the door on the last 3 months and try to move on.

Today was terrifying - had never experienced that much blood before. I shall still cheer you on from the sidelines ladies and look out for some lovely news in May next year Hopefully the rest of you are all past the danger point, as my EDD was 29/05 and I was only ten days off the end of the first trimester - nearly made it !

I'm sure the tears will arrive in time but I feel strangely OK at the moment - as if a weight has been lifted from me. Maybe on some level I knew things weren't right ?

Anyway, I'm waffling - could someone please take me off the list.

wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies xx

llareggub · 11/11/2008 19:13

I'm so, so sorry Jools1. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to heal, both emotionally and physically. I've had 2 early miscarriages and people try and encourage you to move on quickly. You do whatever you need to remember this little one, and give you and your DH some space to grieve.

I'll be saying a little prayer for you this evening and thinking of you.

MrsEvs · 11/11/2008 19:17

Oh Jools I'm so, so sorry - what an awful experience. I'm glad you are handling it so well right now, but you're right you shouldn't be suprised if the tears come at some point. I have to say that when I had my first m/c (much earlier than you so not quite the same) I had had this nagging feeling that something wasn't right and so wasn't at all suprised when it happened. When I then got pregnant with DD1 right after, I felt totally different, somehow just KNEW all was well right from the beginning, so maybe somehow you did know. Fingers crossed the same will happen for you if you choose to try again.

Take great care of yourself, our thoughts are with you xxxxx

runningmonkey · 11/11/2008 19:19

Jools I am so so sorry, I know that I only know you from here but as we were so close in dates I felt a bit of an affinity with you in some way. You have been so lovely to talk to, I hope to see you popping up on other threads soon.

I can only echo what llareggub says about giving yourselves some time and space and tlc.

Thinking of you xx

SpangleMaker · 11/11/2008 19:20

oh Jools I'm so sorry Take all the time you need to get over this. I know there are good people on MN if you feel like 'talking' about it, in time. Thinking about you

divedaisy · 11/11/2008 19:31

Oh Jools - so so sorry to hear this - your tears may not have arrived yet, but I'm surely shedding some for you right now. You take your time to get over this. You will find fantastic support on the MC thread - I'll get the link for you. The support there is great - they helped me a lot back in April. Hopefully soon we'll see your name back on another A/N thread - but in your own time. Take care of yourself and DH xxx BIG HUG xxx

Jools, you'll find great help on the Knicker Checkers thread here The thread is for those who have had a MC and support given when you conceive again and all the relevant worries you'll experience then... hope it helps xx

agooboo - I like the belly belt now. Using the smallest belt with regular jeans and it's giving me a bit of breathing space!!

I think tonight I'll give my wee plum an extra special huggle - after what has happened to Jools it's sobering to realise problems can arise at any stage.

Momino · 11/11/2008 19:55

Jools, just logged in to get an update on you and am so, so sorry. We'll really miss you on this thread and can't wait to see you back on another thread soon. Do listen to the others' advice on giving yourself space and time.
hugs and all best wishes to you. xx

Momino · 11/11/2008 19:58

MrsEvs thanks for the advice on Gap. will just hold out for another pairof jeans.

A big vote for the belly belt from me. I got one for my 1st pregnancy and used it all the time.

Jools- so sorry to hear your sad news- only just seen. I had a very early mc in 2006 and thought about it a lot for a year or so (particularly around EDD). But once I had DS I found it very strange to think he wouldn't have been here otherwise, and he's such a wonderful baby.

Wishing you well for the future and hope you get some happy news again when you are ready to try again. Take care, and pop in and say hello whenever you feel like it.

pulapula · 11/11/2008 20:03

Dandylioness- I think Doris is due 2 June now (or something like that) and decided to move to the due in June thread so that she wouldn't always be lagging behind.
