Just got back from swimming to find that Saurus epic labour has finally ended - yay!! Huge congrats and welcome Finlay Will miss your posts on this thread though - will have to sneak a look at the 'dark side' to get my daily giggles

Choc/Misdee good luck to both of you. Sounds like we may have 2 more babes by the end of the day (fingers crossed!)

Sparks hope the pushchair is what you need - I honestly don't think I could cope without a double one as DS is a bit of a lazy arse!!

misdee · 09/11/2008 15:08

i'm still here midwife just called, says if things dont progress overnight then go to drop in clinic next to my dd's school in the morning with a wee sample just to rule out infection.

really cannot be dealing with this if its another false alarm. though usually by now things have tailed off a lot, this time i feel a bit more pain.

sparkletoes · 09/11/2008 15:12

Ceebs just back from shop but they no longer have display model of the one I fancy!

Have had to consider one as is ONLY way I can get DS to have pm nap nowadays. It would also come in handy when going longer walks in nicer weather as he is just not up to that yet. He was refusing to go in buggy a few months ago but now is happy when I mention it so should get some use out of one..

Heartmum can't remember if I congratulated u on birth of Zack so congrats to you too!

ChocO will watch your live birth thread with much interest, what a great idea (..for as long as you can manage that is! Have to say I don't think I could have done that last time!) Best of luck..

Misdee any more news? Do you think it was your promises of milk & cardies that convinced baby to lie in optimal position?!

OP posts:
vbab78 · 09/11/2008 15:37

misdee - excellent news about baby's position .

Yorky · 09/11/2008 16:22

Our dining room is full of birth pool and DS is having a ball! I want to be in there with a baby! [spoilt child stamping foot emoticon!]

Rosa · 09/11/2008 16:38

Rosa pops head round door to say hello and to let you know that Emily was born on 5/11 at 19.18 3.8kg 50cm natural birth taking all of 40 mins - Yes we were all in shock as well. Here they keep you in hosp longer and also had to have a small follow up - will do a birth story as I did have some panic posts on the 5th.
I will catch up with the posts when I get a sec and Congratulations to all that have given birth in my abscence and good luck to those that are going through the motions now. Catch up soon x

sparkletoes · 09/11/2008 16:58

Aw Congrats Rosa lovely news!

Quick labour too! My sister has a SIL in Italy who ended up having her 2nd DC on bathroom floor it was such a quick labour! Is there something in the water over there??!

Await the full story but in meantime welcome to the world Emily!

ChocOrange05 · 09/11/2008 17:10

Congrats Rosa and baby Emily!!

vbab78 · 09/11/2008 17:14

QUESTION - Over the last couple of days on the odd occasion when having a wee (not every time) it has hurt really bad (little bit like UTI but not I think). Could this be anything labour related?

Also noticed a couple of times, TMI ALERT when going to wipe bottom and having to lean past fanjo that fanjo feels like a ball and open. ANYTHING? i understand that being sat (in toilet position) is probably a good "opening" position.

You would think i would know better with being a 2nd timer!

MonkeyMargot · 09/11/2008 17:18

Congrats Rosa and welcome to the world Emily!! Wow - that was a fast labour! And a fireworks night baby too!! Hoorah! Well done and hope you're both doing well.

Congratulations Rosa and welcome to the world Emily!!! And we all thought we didnt have a fireworks baby!!!!!!!!!

Sorry vbab not sure what it could be if not a UTI? Sure someone on here will know a bit more than I do! (sorry not much help and i'm a 2nd timer too )

Any further news misdee? hope you are doing ok and are in labour this time!!!!

LadyBuzz · 09/11/2008 18:14

Congratulations Rosa & Emily x
Vbab does it hurts when you finish weeing and ache when you stand up and do you feel mlike you need to go again right away?
If so it could well be a UTI, If not sorry I am clueless!

ceebee74 · 09/11/2008 19:19

Rosa congratulations to you all and welcome to Emily - I love that name 40 minutes - wowee!!

Vbab sorry, don't know - maybe worth ringing your MW in the morning?

Sparks bad news about the pushchair - bad timing eh? If we offer DS the pram or walking with reins, he will choose the pram every time

Had a lovely day today - took DS swimming this morning, watched footy whilst he had a nap and made a lovely roast chicken dinner for tea - I guess I am trying to appreciate the limited time we have left as a family of 3 as much as I can

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2008 19:26

Big congratulations Rosa and welcome to the world Emily.......lovely name (DD is Emily )

Can't wait to hear your birth story.....40 mins

ChocO's birth thread is getting lively

vbab, second LB on the UTI symptoms, although it sounds similar to what I had all Thursday and most of Friday before going into full on labour; it was a sort of dragging ache right underneath my bump, not specific to my bits though. The secind bit of your question, I think is just down to things being a bit swollen combined with probably some pressure from the baby's head when you are sitting down. It all sounds good, but I would get checked out tomorrow for a UTI just to make sure.

My little minnow just let out a little giggle from his crib....aaaw sweet

Rosa · 09/11/2008 19:29

Rosas story

Here you go --We have first colic now dh doing the tummy massage ..Eyes down round one !!!

vbab78 · 09/11/2008 20:02

question - thanks for everyone's responses.

ladybuzz - The pain feeling is not like you describe and only lasts when weeing. It has only happened a couple of times over the last few days and not in succession and not felt a need to go to loo again after.

lacks - was it you that said "thirsty fanjo is a painful one?". Why? Maybe that is it ... maybe i've been dehydrated when i have been to the loo?

Feel like I should at least contact the midwife tomorrow especially with GBS stuff but supposed to be seeing her for my 41wks + 3/4 appointment on Thursday anyway so in two minds. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO especially with it not happening everytime.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2008 20:05

lol vbab, it was thirsty uterus (in relation to painful BH)

I know lots of women who have said they thought they had a UTI when they were actually in labour, so this might be it. If it isn't sore everytime you wee then it's maybe not a UTI and could be the start.

Get bouncing on your ball or ask DH to oblige

vbab78 · 09/11/2008 20:13

lacks - DUH! I've done enough bouncing on balls for a while thanks .

I'm trying my best to not get excited at all this "possible" signs of labour as easily excited (no comment). But just know it will all be nothing. With DS it was so straight forward ... went to bed with backache, woke up worse backache, then show, then pains then hosp broke waters then many hours later my back to back, stuck and heart rate dropping DS was born after hospital assisted. Not any of this ... is this a sign, NO, is this, maybe. ARGH!

Sorry for rant.

Oblomov · 09/11/2008 20:40
