Hi suiledonn. Don't stress - and ignore your MIL. I'm 5 days overdue now, and just trying not to think about it too much.
hana's Doula is perfectly correct of course!
Sparkle glad you had an afternoon nap. Good on you! You must have needed it!
I've got MW coming tomorrow morning, hoping she'll do a sweep. Then have a reflexology booked for tomorrow night. Fingers crossed!

obs - CONGRATS on fitting in your old clothes .

misdee - CONGRATS on the show. Do you think it is worth contacting your midwife just to check?

lacks - thank you.

misdee · 10/11/2008 19:57

vbab, not sure tbh. dont want to have a vaginal examination to be told again 'cervix is closed' lol. will wait. no bad contractions yet.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/11/2008 20:14

misdee, I'm sure this is the start for you . I had a major bottom expulsion on Thursday evening and again on Friday afternoon and was in labour by 6pm on the Friday.

message for babies coming up:

right you over-due babies.....get your bottoms out into the world right now as you are causing your mummies unnecessary boredom...c'mon now, let's be having you all

message over!

Yorky · 10/11/2008 21:29

Good luck misdee

Last night baby had moved and I was more comfortable than I'd been for ages, could even go up and down stairs without looking like I needed a Stannah! Tonight its moved back and I don't want to be pregnant any more!

Reflexology again tomorrow night, clary sage on the outside and epo on the inside! I've still got a couple of weeks to actual date as well!

Please let DS sleep better then he did last night.

vbab78 · 10/11/2008 21:45

going to bed now. Trust me this is beyond early for me as I always go later than 11pm.

Also DS was back at (private) nursery as now better and I got a lie in until 11am. I have been for the first time in the whole pregnancy exhausted today and could have fallen asleep at 4pm in the chair at my mum's. Then i nearly did again cuddling DS on sofa watching Brum before his bed at 7.30pm. WEIRD.

sending out labour vibes to all ladies (like me) who are overdue or maybe just fed up who want baby's out!

missygoo · 10/11/2008 22:22

Just popping my head in whilst my little DS (wow! I have a DS!!) whilst he is sleeping. He is such a sukey little chap, much prefers to sleep in mummy's arms than anywhere else!
I know I said I would be happy enough to take on some of the attachment parenting techniques but this is crazy.
I am soooo not complaining though. As long as DH is here to cook, tidy and clean, I am happy to take all the cuddles(DH is back to work on Tuesday, next)
He will sleep in the moses basket downstairs, but you try putting him in his crib at night. You won't get any luck

Anyway, I have not been able to get on for days, so I have no idea what is going on with you all at the mo. I looked in the birth announcements and see we have a few more babies, but not many, and a few over due ladies

Will try to pop in again more often, but that is DS saying no to the moses basket now, so I had better be off.

I wonder of you could pop on links to the post natal and birth stories threads, again I just can't find where I last asked!

mum2becks · 11/11/2008 07:09

Morning everyone!!

Congratulations ChocO well done, was following your diary on sunday!!

I am now 10 days overdue and very fed up had a hospital appt yesterday and am now booked in for induction on friday. I didnt really want to end up being induced but by then I will be 13 days over and am ready for this baby to come out!!!! So if everyone can send me labour vibes I am going to try all I can to get things happening naturally before friday

Good to see you home safe and well Pinkali

Had a text from saurus last night to say she is now home so sure we will be hearing from her on here very soon!!!

Hope everyone else who is overdue is feeling ok, and those who arent yet due are enjoying their final days of peace & quiet!

Yorky · 11/11/2008 08:15

Thought we were going to have a good day as DS only woke briefly once because he'd lost his blankie, and didn't wake up (calling for Daddy!) till 640!! He is now having a complete paddy because Daddy has gone to work without him!
Good luck for anything happening before Friday M2B, If I get to 10 days over I will be moving with a less than a week old, you listening baby - sooner is better, Milk and Cardigans this way!
Welcome home Saurus, looking forward to hearing the full story, look after you

mum2becks - labour vibes your way for before Friday. Worst case though at least you have a day booked. I dont see my midwife until Thursday and I'll be 10 days overdue and dont know what would happen about an induce date before Monday (14 days overdue).

rutho - YIPPEE on being home .

ME - 8 days overdue no "signs" I think (should know better as 2nd timer). Things "might" be gearing up very slowly as ... TMI more discharge (clear type, no blood) in big clumps ever now and again, keep feeling wet, baby not moving as much but still able and still getting the occasional pains when weeing.

I felt good yesterday after my lie in but feel like rubbish today. Hopefully this feeling will wear off once I'm mobile this morning. Thinking about going for long walk shopping with mum and sis. Be i'm a very active person anyway so I dont think it would shock baby into making an appearance.

Tinkerisdead · 11/11/2008 08:59

hana i was coming on here to say exactly that, i wee in the dark so would i potentially miss a show? glad you are under the impression it can still be felt

Well, voicemail is changed, thank you for calling the Dr and His Wife, if you are calling regarding the minimedic's arrival then there is no news im afraid. As we're sure everyone can appreciate we are taking time to enjoy these last few weeks of peace and quiet and relaxing ready for the big day. As soon as we have news we will let everyone know, thank you for your kind wishes and interest.

I heart you barbareeba

so i woke up this morning and i thought about some questions for those who've had their babies. im not gonna post about how desperate i am for this baby, im ignoring it, like a toddlers tantrum.

When i ask this of people who've had babies 6 months ago they cant remember. Those who have now given birth, has your heart burn gone? did it go instantly? what about other pregnancy ailments? Did the baby come out and instantly you have lungfuls of air again? You know how when your so pregnant that you sneeze or yawn and its agony as there is no room to expand! What about any food aversions, am i gonna wake up after ive had the baby and gulp down a lovely coffee again.... do tell all... i wanna know what the physical relief is like, you prob havent noticed those good bits what with piles and a sore fanjo and cracked nipples but humour me .....

ohhh me too then, woke in the night with sick coming up again and then im guzzling gaviscon which makes me wretch so i was in a bit of a vicious circle!

Yorky · 11/11/2008 09:32

Drs wife - I was wondering that too - didn't have heartburn or spd with DS so this bit is all new to me. Which am I looking forward to most - meeting baby or being able to eat what I like again? Tough call!
Any news misdee?

misdee · 11/11/2008 09:33

still here!

few stronger twinges overnight, but no loss of waters, or anything to make me stop and go 'oooooooooooooo' just yet!

tegan · 11/11/2008 09:35

Hello all,
I haven't been on for a while so thought i would just check in to say still no baby, but i have been really poorly over the weekend with back pain so today the mw is giving me a sweep, i just hope it starts me off quickly.

Any sweep stories would be appreciated as i have never had one but everyone seems to think they are very effective and that things should move quickly once it is done.

Tinkerisdead · 11/11/2008 09:37

tegan ive had two sweeps so far with zilcho occuring, i have found it in a nutshell to be like "being fisted by the midwife" its uncomfy and scratchy like a smear but i havent found it painful.

tegan · 11/11/2008 09:40

Thanks Drswife, were you overdue?
I only ask as i am 38+2 weeks and babies head has been engaged for over a week.
