i only had a couple of smears really choco, and the everything came away when my waters broke so not much help here either.

But, if it's coming out in globs it means your cervix must be starting to thin and efface.......perhaps the sweep has been productive after all?

I'm predicting a few babies either her or on their way by the end of the weekend

Sending rutho lovely calm birthy vibes

ChocOrange05 · 08/11/2008 17:32

Thanks guys - just wondering, trying not to get my hopes up too much as I don't want to be disappointed but its better than the nothing I have had so far!

sparkletoes · 08/11/2008 17:33

I have relented and put a bid in for a 2nd hand double buggy on ebay. Never thought I'd say that (really didn't want one!) but I think needs must so making enquiries...

Pinkali has been in touch - baby Esme is feeding but not via the breast - she is having breast milk from the bottle as not keen on the breast. Pinkali says they will let them go home once they can establish she is feeding well from the bottle. Fingers crossed for them all!

I have seen a lovely picture of a gorgeous little girl with a big head of hair!

Sounds like lots more babies are making their way . Unfortunately mine at nearly 41wks doesnt seem to be one of them and not seeing midwife until nearly 42wks anyway so no plans to help baby along in the offing. More I think about it maybe the bleed I had on Monday wasnt show but something else. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY think like with DS this one is comfy . Dont seem as big as with DS either and baby seems to have loads of room still but I am getting more rounded as the days go by.

My MIL just said also that she "doesnt think I've dropped and from the back you cant tell i'm pregnant but from the front I look like i have a football down my top". She is right but just confirms more in my head that things are not happening.

Going for Indian tonight with DH as mum has DS so fingers crossed ladies.

Watch me be the last one to pop when I was due on the bloody 3rd!

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 18:16

I had a text from missygoo saying that baby J is doing well and they are on their way home

She'll be back online soon

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 18:18

oh vbab, going overdue is horrible. I remember it with DS.

Poor pinkali, must be an exhausting routine for her. I hope they are allowed home soon.

vbab78 · 08/11/2008 18:30

RUTHO UPDATE - Just got text ... in Jessops hospital (Sheffield) and is 6cm dilated.

cricri · 08/11/2008 18:37

Evening ladies I am lurking when I can but don't seem to have any time these days. Especially today when I seem to have turned into a milk-producing machine. The last feed lasted 2 hours and she seems to be hungry again! MW and doula say go with it for the next couple of days Don't think I'll be getting much sleep again tonight...
Sorry to hear Rutho, Choc, MM and Vbab in particular are still waiting for their babies Hope it's not too long now.
Big hugs to Pinkali and Esme and hope they're home very soon.
Congratulations to Betti
I haven't had chance to post my birth story yet but the abbreviated version is that I was in 2nd stage labour for 4.5 hours at home and then another 2 hours in hospital due to Elise not wanting to come out. But I did go from 4cm to 10cm in 2 hours in the first stage. Contractions started out of nowhere 2hrs after my waters broke spectacularly and got very strong and close together within 30 minutes. When the mw arrived and examined me she saw I was 10cm dilated and could start pushing. No pain relief apart from TENS machine as I couldn't stay in the pool due to waters having broken over 24h previously and I couldn't get on with the gas and air mouthpiece the mw brought with her at home! However in hospital the gas and air mask soon became my best friend. Shame it ended in a ventouse delivery but the main thing is we're both fine and to their credit the midwives did all they could to help me achieve my hb.
Really hope some more babies make an appearance soon
Back to the feeding for me... and I will make it onto the PN thread at some point

mum2becks · 08/11/2008 19:37

I have been putting DD to bed so see vbab has beat me with the update from saurus great news that she is finally in true labour!!! We will have another baby soon

Well I saw my MW this morning for a sweep as am now 1 week overdue but she couldnt do one said my cervix was too far back and the babys head was in the way so i'm back to just waiting!!! Wants me to ring the hospital on monday morning to book in for induction but will be doing all I can between now and then to get this baby moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suprised not heard from heartmum hope she is ok??

ceebee74 · 08/11/2008 19:42

Woohoo for Saurus am so pleased that things are finally 'real' for her - if anyone 'deserves' a short and easy labour, it is her!! Can't wait to hear the news

Pinkali really hope they can all get home very soon and start their new life as a family.

Am also surprised there is nothing from HM2J hope everything is ok!

Vbab/Mum2becks so sorry you are still waiting - I remember it well with DS and it is just torture - remember, spicy food, sex and nipple-tweaking

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 19:48

Go saurus, Go saurus, Go saurus, Go . I hope she has enough energy to get her through it after all her stop starts

CriCri, baby is just ramping up your supply to meet her growing demands; it'll go in peaks and plateaus but the first weeks are defnately the worst. Worth persevering with though as it is by far the easier option later on ime having done both.

No news from heartmum? I hope all is well.

Finbo's tongue has lost half of it's fungally coating already and feeds have been less painful. Hopefully we should be back to normalish tomorrow.

sparkletoes · 08/11/2008 20:05

Wayhaey great news for Ruthy!!!!!!! Am sooo pleased for her.

Hugs to Pinkali & Esme

Waves to Cricri so nice to hear from you! Definately keep going with the on demand feeding it will be soooo worth it. Promise!

Mum2becks/Vbab keeping fingers crossed for you too!

HURRAH to sarus go, sarus, go sarus, go sarus...GO!!! At long bloody last eh

I'm also betting that Heartmum has had her little lad - haven't heard from her, did she have a text buddy???

Got a picture today on my mobile from autumnlady Her DS has so much hair, very handsome little lad.........hopefully she will make it here soon....

Goo dluck everyone else - chocorange if for any reason you don't get your HB, I can't praise EH enough - everyone was utterly amazing, they listened to what WE wanted, and it was calm, chilled and fairly relaxed. Even afterwards was ace.......so, knowing you ahte hospitals, if for any reason you end up at EH then fear not, you are in safe hands!

How many babies are we going for this weekend??? I got a feleing that Monkeymargot is going to have her LO very soon!

DM x

ChocOrange05 · 08/11/2008 20:52

Thanks DM - I have heard nothing but good reviews about EH too and met some of the MW's there so its not seeming so daunting now. I just needed to mentally prepare myself for this alternative.

I have had some more bloody show (and thats bloody as in blood not just cursing it! ) this evening and my bump feels really tight and a bit wierd. Could be something - could be nothing!! We watch and wait again!

DH and I just been to a fab fireworks display following a lovely meal cooked by DH - if anyone watched last nights Gordon Ramsey cookalong, I just had the duck and it was scrummy! Now off to snuggle with a film and some cheesecake!

Fab news about Saurus - of everyone she deserves to get that baby out soon! Looking forward to more news.

Hi Cricri - its a shame you didn't get your full HB but it sounds like it was a good success anyway with a nice healthy baby! And I love the name Elise!

Hugs to all my fellow overdue and fed up buddies!!

Oblomov · 08/11/2008 20:59

Welcome back Cricri
Good news on Rutho.
As others have said, where is Heart2mum. And Misdee?
whO ELSE ARE WE PARTICULARLY LOOKING OUT FOR AT THE MO ?

I am truley shocked that all these people are overdue ? Is this normal ? In my naievity I thought that every woman gave birth between 38-40 weeks. I am just so shocked that so many of us are overdue.
Lets hope that doesn't maintain, i.e. babies are born, soon,
NO MORE OVERDUENESS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!

Heartmum2Jamie · 08/11/2008 21:22

Hi everyone! I am a pround new mummy of a gorgous 3rd boy, Zack William. He was born last night at 7.11pm. I almost got my dream delivery, but ended with an emergency transfer to hospital as Zack had opened his bowels in utero due to a tight cord around the neck, causing distress. I was tranfered at fully dilated and had pushed enough for the head to be visible, lol. Zack was born less than 15 minutes after arriving at hospital. He weighed 8lb 11oz, was 55cm long, had apgars of 9 & 10, not bad for a distressed baby! We were kept in until the paed could check him over this afternoon. I am very tired, but all is well and we are glad to be home. Have 2 pics of him at the top of my profile, were in such a hurry we forgot the camera, so had to settle for camera phone pics.

Much love to all, will catch up properly tomoorow.

chocolategal · 08/11/2008 21:24
