yorky - great news about the house .

lacks - congrats on walking properly.

chocorange/pinkali - choc if poss could you pass on well wishes of massive hugs and loving vibes for her and baby Esme.

ceebee - yum to pizza and coffee. My DH takes anything that is "all you can eat" as a personal challenge.

ruth - how rude of the woman in ikea! i'm surprised you kept so calm. Steady on with the peeling apples. Are you making cider?

RE texts - on top of my MIL leaving pretend labour ward nurse messages on the answer machine daily I now have my SIL sending me texts asking if anything happened yet?! DO THEY NOT THINK YOU WOULD LET THEM KNOW? Feel like responding in a very nasty and sarcastic way "yes i had baby yesterday no one told you?". BAD I KNOW. I am now finding that if a friend (who has spared my feelings and left me to it) contacts me to see if ok I just feel like i cant be bothered to respond [i'm a bad friend emotion]

also started with a achy back this aft (this happened with DS) but could of course be anything. but even though i really want to see baby i dont want baby tomorrow as nephew's birthday.

vbab78 · 06/11/2008 21:05

margot - i've been having to diy pedicure myself too. WELL ... one foot hardly had anything done except for having the toe chopped and around where it has been healing needed doing and the other foot either wasnt done well so just needed redoing. Also think I may have had the waxing done too early as some of my leg hairs have started to grow and its only nearly been 2 weeks. This normal after 1st time wax or did the lady do a bad job?

Just feel like i wasted my £ on both the waxing and pedicure.

Yorky · 06/11/2008 21:07

Hello again all

PMA and best wishes to baby Esme and Pinkali

Are we bad parents? Our favourite place to take DS out for lunch is Pizza hut - he can demolish a salad bowl very happily - sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, happy boy. He even likes coleslaw!

Saurus - Clubbing would be great, if you're sure DH wouldn't mind.

Going to hide all DS toys behind settee now as if it look slike this when MW comes for home visit tomorrow she'll cancel HB on H&S grounds!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 21:13

rutho; if it's false labour the contractions will stop if you get mobile; the real deal just keeps on going. On friday night, every time I went upstairs to the loo I was racked with a huge contraction.

and I know I'm retaining a bit of water but I weighed myself this morning.......and have lost 5lbs . Now I'm not a rocket scientist but 8lbs baby, 2lbs placenta, 2lbs amniotic fluid adds up to a fuck of a lot more than 5lbs . The scales have been kicked under the bed never to be seen again for a while

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 21:14

Vbab, I am such a grumpy bugger at the moment that frankly she could have said how lovely and glowy I looked and I would have muttered foul things as I lurched past... she just gave me the excuse I was looking for to be surly.

Nix to the cider, my stepmum brought round a bag of about 15 windfall apples which I have now stewed and batched up for easy crumble or just with custard later on when I am too tired or whatever to cook.

I am well up for Saturday, btw, did we talk about a time?

Hi Ladybuzz, you sound v maternal! Wish my DH, bless him, would move to the couch just for 1 night although seeing as he is upstairs moving furniture at the moment that does seem a lot to ask!

Monkey, keep it real, hon!

My bump is so contracty this evening that I'm going to have to sign off and have a bath in a mo' as it's making my upper back hurt like hell and feels like the skin across my tummy is actually going to split. What on earth is that baby doing in there?

Good luck, and good night, I hope things go really well for all of us and that babies sleep well or arrive... Apart from mine which I have decided is now not allowed to come until after Saturday as there is stuff I want to do tomorrow and then.

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 21:19

Lacks, btw, the scales are in league with Rosemary Conley and LIE! Bin them forever. Also btw, you went into labour a week ago - holy crap! How has a week gone by already?

misdee · 06/11/2008 22:00

things have stopped again.

[sighs]

think i'm gonna go for an xmas baby lol.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 22:21

tis technically possible to have a christmas baby if you are due on 30th Nov and go to 43 weeks followed by induction leading to 48 hour labour!!!!!

misdee · 06/11/2008 22:25

lol lacksadaisey. i know a women who had 44 week pregnancies IIRC.

ChocOrange05 · 06/11/2008 22:42

Back from a lovely dinner to throw bottles of anything at Daisy and misdee - I just got through convincing myself that no matter what bump will have arrived in the next 2 weeks!!

Lovely tapas for dinner but now paying for it in the form of Gaviscon for desert. Mmmmmmmmm.....

Night all! Surely we're due a baby tomorrow?? x

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 22:48

Yeah, one of my colleagues was a 44 weeker. He's always late for meetings as well...

Hugs, Misdee.

Have just realised re earlier remark to Lacks that technically speaking I went into labour a week ago too! Lacks, I still wopuldn't throw bottles of anything at you, you star you!

I think my baby just dropped another two inches as before [TMI WARNING] my boobs were in contact with my bump and now they aren't any more. And I seriously doubt it is cos my boobs just shrank. No exciting show or waters or anything though so probably just a stomach muscle finally giving up!

With that lovely mental image I shall leave you and go and sleep the sleep of the cumbersome in my gorgeous new bedroom.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 22:57

rutho, stop making me laugh; my undercarriage can't take it

virgil dropped remarkably on the monday afternoon and I had him 4.5 days later........

rutho saturday - Up for meeting but would have to be in the morning and I'd need to leave at 12 latest (sorry for restrictions) as DH wants to get back for FOOTBALL (no comment). I will leave the time up to you but costa coffee place next to Debenhams sounds nice (never been) especially as they have cake.

Assuming you dont have your baby before just to get out of meeting me!

Shall we wear red carnations so we know who to look for or shall we guess based on bumps and maybe even the profile pics? Sorry just being silly. I will blame it on too much lavender in my bath this eve.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 23:09

where you chaps meeting? I need to get out of the house!!

vbab78 · 06/11/2008 23:15

lacks - saturday at Costa Coffee (i think) in Meadowhall.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 23:21

DH has just reminded me that I'm probably not safe to drive yet due to anaemia and accompanying palpitations/dizziness/fainting spells (fair point really) and he can't bring me as DS's swimming lessons start up again on Saturday morning

I thought crooning over a newborn might be just the push you ladies need

ruthosaurus · 07/11/2008 04:48

Vbab, Costa Coffee at 10? I will have to run it past DH who will grumble about the earliness (!) but I will explain to him that he doesn't need to get up properly and can go back to bed or have a bacon buttie or whatever once he's got shot of me.

Lacks, hon, we WILL meet another time without the risk of me exploding with jealousy over an ACTUAL BABY that someone has really managed to give birth to! Unfair, though - I can't drive because I am too stupid with pg hormones and SPD is making it too painful, and you can't cos you might wilt at the wheel and cause a news item. The train would be an option if little Fin was a tiny bit older and you a little less liable to an attack of the vapours, but the thought of conking out just outside Picadilly in charge of a week old baby... Not worth it, babes.

Are we northerners still on for meeting up in the 2nd week in December? I hope so as I can't wait for you all to marvel over just how big my bump will be by then.

Anyway, I have decided that denial is the new black and that I am not pregnant, just massively obese and carrying all my extra weight round the front. Therefore after meeting up on Saturday I will be going for a run and possibly retiling the roof, before going out clubbing with Yorky...

DH is either going to be very offended or PHSL because after he spent three hours this evening getting the bed into the bedroom and putting my lovely new chair together I am sat downstairs on the computer because I cannot sleep. I was woken by strong, painful boring contractions about 2 hours ago and can't get back to sleep...

The saddest thing is that I am now eating one of the apples that I put in the birth baga about this time last week when the first lot of contractions were getting really bad. Oh well. At least I have learned this week that I will be able to catch up on my sleep later in the day and it's all good practice for when Baby Saurus needs feeding every 2 hours! And I'm getting my 5 a day.

I wonder if anyone we know is having their baby right now?

sparkletoes · 07/11/2008 06:23

Not me Rutho just woken by DS at 5am and now we both can't sleep! He had a nightmare I think - has been obsessed by 'scary men' ever since he saw a shop display for halloween in town centre. He started talking about it again last night.

Made DH a nice roast dinner last night for his birthday and have been paying for it ever since (Gaviscon also my desert!)...

Sorry to hear Pinkali news about Esme in SCBU, get well wishes... xx

Yorky great news on house!

Vbab/Ruthy it is beyond me why people think it is ok to send such daft texts! Know it is their excitement and that they care about you but also very annoying! I can tell mine will all start next friday (am 39 weeks today!) and I will probably get it worse as DS was on time so everyone expects same this time.. oh the pressure!

On a final note I am now seriously considering a double buggy as only way to get DS to nap nowadays. Like the Out n About nipper but at price (even 2nd hand)!!

Hope everyone else is having nice sleep right now as I get a daily dose of Tikkabilla...

Oh TF, someone else is up! Hi Sparkle, hon, I have been SO BORED for the last 2 or 3 hours! And my botty has gone numb. Am I glad to see a friendly face, so to speak.

sparkletoes · 07/11/2008 06:41

I am so tired I feel sick! Even baby is not jumping around just now!

ruthosaurus · 07/11/2008 06:45

Mine is but I have a nasty feeling that this is only because I the way I sit at the computer is dquashing it a bit. Bad mum club, here I come.

ruthosaurus · 07/11/2008 06:54

Sorry, that should read squashing. Am talking on Facebook to a mate in Australia who has just got home from work and is going out for a few beers in a bit. Weird!

ceebee74 · 07/11/2008 08:15

Morning! No baby news?? Was expecting maybe HM2J to have passed to the Other Side

Saurus/Vbab am wondering if I could persuade DH that a trip to my parents would be good tomorrow so I can come and have a coffee with you but I really don't think he would go for it and I am not sure I could sit comfortably in a car for an hour either - well, I am still up for the meeting in the 2nd week of Dec anyway - just to admire Saurus bump if nothing else

Sparks sorry about your early start. Just to let you know that the Thomas clock worked a treat last night (although it is probably just beginners luck as Mum2Becks said!). Didn't hear a peep out of DS all night and at 6.40 this morning, he appeared in our bedroom saying 'Thomas awake now' which was the time we had set it for (I now have visions of DS sat in his bed since 5am just staring at the clock waiting for his eyes to open ).

mum2becks · 07/11/2008 08:31

Morning all!! Really expected some baby news this morning, we need some more births to keep us going!!!!!!

ChocO/Pinkali hope Esme is out of SCBU very soon, please pass on lots of hugs xxx

Saurus/Vbab I would have loved to meet up with you tomorrow as its not far for me but I have MW coming to do my sweep and she just said it would be before lunch so cant make it definately up for 2nd week in Dec though, I'm sure you will have your baby by then Saurus as according to my MW Jessops Hospital like to see you at 10 days over for induction!!!

Sparks really pleased the clock worked for your DS, fingers crossed it carrys on that way!! DD woke at 3.50am this morning dont know why, nightmare perhaps?? it took over an hour to get her back to sleep, but then she slept until 7.40am!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still not a lot happening here but I have started with really low down backache, which is how labour started with DD, but she was back to back and this one isnt so not sure if its anything at all??
