hello again!

did you get your chair rutho ?

im just back from the hospital, babys kidneys the same, they are most unconcerned by it!! baby will see paediatircian once born and will know more then!
the dr and midwife were more concerned over the size of baby, he has always measured big and at last scan roughly 6lbs, today they are saying 8lb odds, thats not that big surely!? (im 38+4)
anyway, have got a sweep booked for next week altho mw thinks i will have had him by then!

i felt like telling her poor misdee and rutho have been contracting for ages and still no baby to show for it!!

anyway off to the hairdressers as this really might be the last chance for a wee while!

Oblomov · 06/11/2008 16:45

Update from Pinkali

Baby Esme is in intensive care, she has had a lumber puncture and is having a sunbed for jaundice. She also has infections and is on antibiotics. Pinkali has low iron levels so she is on tablets and she also has an infection and a new tear they hadn't seen before .

The poor things - sounds like they are having a really rough time but she still had time to send her love to everyone and ask how we all were!

Poor pinkali and esme. Hope they are home soon.

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 17:45

Hi Chocorange, thanks for Pinkali update, please send love and get well vibes. Poor things, hope all is better v v soon. Nice to see you back again, sorry to hear about sweep?

Heartmum, any more contractions? All extremities crossed for you, hon.

Monkey, scuse language and all, but how the f*ck have you managed a DIY pedicure? Are you VERY good at yoga? Occasionally I phone my feet and we reminisce about the fun times we used to have applying nail varnish and wearing lovely shoes, and then we shrug and go our separate ways once more? To be honest, I think they might have met someone else but are trying to spare my feelings.

Hey Cricri, I bet you can see your feet again as well, lucky girl! Hope to see you soon on the Other Side (or PN thread as it is also known). Keep all digits crossed for us laggards, won?t you ? we?ll be there one day!

Hi Chocgal, what is up with baby?s kidneys? I have lost track a bit, sorry hon. I think all the contracting is blowing my marbles out of the water a bit. Ignore bloody mw predictions, unless your mw is a lot more psychic than mine! I am adding a week onto anything mine says to me now, just because last time she said ?Oh, I think you?ll have your baby by Monday? and I found dawn on Tuesday morning very psychologically gruelling. I hope yours is better at this baby guessing game! Have a lovely haircut, it really does help you to feel more human, doesn?t it? I bet you look v stunning.

Hi Obs, sorry to hear latch no better but glad you had a good day with your mum, v theraputic to get out, no?

Hana you sticky tart, you crack me up! I am intending to join you in weekend baby idea, if only because then it maximises DH's paternity leave...

I finally just wanted to say that Ikea is highly overrated as a way of getting babies out ? I was there for 3 hours, not including meatballs, and still no bloody child, not even with my Ikea family card! I especially loved the woman in the restaurant queue who actually pointed and nudged her mate, saying ?Ooh, she looks ready to burst, doesn?t she??. I waddled past her muttering ?Yeah, and she?s got a REALLY short fuse at the moment as well.?. But I have my lovely chair and at some point in 2009 I am will get round to building it... MIL kindly carried it up the stairs but then put it behind the sofa so I will try and move it in a bit when I?m feeling stronger (don?t worry, it weighs nothing, it?s just a big box and I have tiny short arms like a T-rex).

Then I am going to make a curry and then I am going to nag DH into moving our bed into the lovely new bedroom. I am NOT sleeping in the spare room for one more night ? I will stay up all night as a protest if he does nothing tonight. He promised, he promised... I know he?s having to work a bit late tonight but I really, really need a good night?s sleep [petulant foot-stamping emoticon].

ceebee74 · 06/11/2008 18:30

Thanks for the update on Pinkali - send her and Esme my love and I hope they can come home and start life as a family very very soon!

Saurus glad you got your chair. I so love your posts - they make me giggle everytime! I bet your pg journal is just fantastic - have you thought about sending it to a publisher??

HM2J any news???? (No pressure or anything!)

Crici glad you are home and I guess we will see you 'on the Other Side' at some point!

Yorky lovely thought about the choccy bars for Daisy - v sweet!

Chocorange I had started to wonder if you had gone into labour - sorry that you haven't! I would also leave the induction until the latest possible moment to try and get your HB!

Had a lovely day today - met a friend for lunch (Pizza Hut eat-all-you-can buffet - so I did!) and did some shopping before including stopping for a Starbucks hazelnut hot choc with whipped cream - god, it tasted nice!!

misdee · 06/11/2008 18:31

my bump aches. not contractions as such, but overall it feels tighter and sore. i did use some clary sage oil today though and massaged my bump. i also walked round town for a couple of hours as well.

am hoping thats its a sign things are moving along nicely.

that and the fact i stripped the bed, did the laundry, swerpt and mopped kitchen floor, am about to do the living room and hallway floors as well, and have put a load of nappies on pre-wash as well...

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 18:38

Thanks, Ceebs! Misdee, if that doesn't do it... Sore tight bump sounds contractiony to me. But remember to save some energy for labour, eh?

Pinkyminkee · 06/11/2008 18:49

hello all.
Please send Pinkali my love- hope she and Esme are well and home very soon.

Hello choco and Suiledonn we were getting a bit worried about you.

Rutho we went to IKea today too. Gor DD1 this fab light that projects moons and stars and planets around the room. Planets are her latest 'thing'.

Hoope things start moving for someone soon, so we can have some more babies!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/11/2008 19:01

I am really sorry to hear about Pinkali and Esme, I hope they are both home where they belong soon.

Grrr, my body is frustrating me. I am contracting but they need to be stronger or come closer together (although they are anything from 4-6 minutes apart right now)!! I did take the boys out earlier, they rode their bikes and I did a fast waddle behind them. Not really sure how I am suppose to make them stronger now. Maybe walking up and down the stairs? Tried some bouncing, didn't seem to help. Mind you, if I get a good one when I am stood up, I feel like the baby will just fall out, lol!

ChocOrange05 · 06/11/2008 19:20

HM2J sounds like things are moving along a bit - although I think the "falling out" part might be wishful thinking!

Oh - sorry guys can't type anymore, DH has just summoned me to go out for dinner - another "last night out" for us!!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 19:21

pinkali and Esme. Wishing them both well and that they are back home soon. Send them my love please ChocO.

I am lurking when I can but suddenly life with three children has taken over. I think I may also have visitor fatigue today...5 lots of visitors; too much too soon I think.

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 19:24

I think I've overdone it - I have made tea and been peeling apples for ages and now my face has gone bright red and my back hurts all the way down...

Heartmum, hon, you sound like me the other night. Can you go and have a bath to relax a bit? I think if it's the real thing it'll keep going, not that I know any better. On the edge of my seat for you over here, but no pressure, just chill, woman!

Yorky · 06/11/2008 19:27

Oh for someone to take me out for an evening!
HM2J, it has to be moving in the right direction - just slowly.

I agree with Pinky - we need more babies!

And Ceebee, I had her address from book swap, and we've all been grateful for her experience and sharing and wisdom and experience with DC.Its not even very well disguised advertising!

DS is very funny. His word for today is big, and it has to be said in a deep growly voice - BIG lorry! He was playing with his car and crashing it into the settee and said bump, mummy BIG bump, which I know was a description of the car crash but cracked me up anyway, which made him laugh too!

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 19:29

Hugs, Lacks, pretend you're not in or shout "they moved out yesterday" through the letterbox if anyyone knocks...

My bloody bloody bloody bloody cousin has just texted me AGAIN to ask if I've had the baby. I am going to have to call her and ask her to stop it off as it is really getting to me now, I feel like a total fucking failure. I've been in prodromal labour now for over a week and my body can't even get it together to give birth.

Sorry for bad language, sweary me.

And DH is still not home, and won't be for another hour, and I CAN'T have the baby tonight anyway or his work will think he's just having Fridays off at the mo' and it's also his Annual Performance Review tomorrow.

ARGH! Will look at own advice to Heartmum and calm down a bit as am now contracting like anything but I just know nothing will come as it as not even getting mucus at the moment and can still just about type. Off to peel more apples...

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 19:41

Aw, Yorky, your little lad sounds like a corker! Bless him for making you crack up!

I'll take you out for the evening - wanna go clubbing? I haven't been in ages for some reason.

misdee · 06/11/2008 20:05

after weeks of stopping and starting, i have no idea if this is it or not. my CMW wanted me to call in as soon as i thought things were moving, but as i am only having contractions, no show, no waters breaking yet i am reluctant to.

am getting worried, in case i leave it too late, as last two births have been under 3 hours.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 20:12

excited for you misdee

How far apart and how painful are the contractions? Are they getting more painful/closer together? Getting worse when you move about? If so, you know what to do.

I'm sure your carers would rather a false alarm than you deliver on your own. I take it you're on for your homebirth now?

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 20:14

and apart from an odd wee smear a few times, I had no show and my waters didn't break till the contractions were only a few minutes apart.

misdee · 06/11/2008 20:15

still at early stages if this is it. basically lots of tightenings, not regular timings, but enough to breathe through. i generally go from 6cm to 10 in an hour, and def dont feel at that stage yet.

going to take some paracetamol, get dh to make the bed, and see if i can rest for a bit.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 20:16

sounds wise.

I went from 6 to fully dilated in about 40 minutes! they have my active labour stage down as an hour in my notes!!

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 20:17

Misdee, you can do it! I am SO rooting (in a non bf way ) for you and HM2J tonight! Bloody hell, 3 hours? Hope you get short labour after all this, love and hugs coming your way.

Lacks, what does getting worse if you move about mean?

DH now home, is DEFINITELY moving the bed tonight, love that man. He also got nominated for a position on the company's staff council today so am v proud of my ace and beautiful hubby!

misdee · 06/11/2008 20:24

thanks.

dh watching the bill so bed not done yet.

am wondering if its the clary sage working its wonders lol.

LadyBuzz · 06/11/2008 20:31

Poor Pinkali hugs to her and baby Esme.
Hope those of you with pains get some movement soon.
I'm so tired I can hardly see, My boys (that is so very weird) both slept like angels and I hardly slept at all last night DH is on the couch tonight he got that sick of me!
Hello to everyone else!
