Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
misdee · 06/11/2008 08:38

bloody hell, i actually only woke up once last night, and that was 5mins before the alarm went off to get the girls up for school

have had some tightenings again this morning, but again, not strong enough or long enough to be anything to be worried/excited about. 4th babies can be worse than 3rd ones apparently.

trying to decide what to do today. think we need to pop into town again. i might take dd3 out in the buggy and give it a good try out before bubs arrives.

MonkeyMargot · 06/11/2008 09:06

Morning all.
Obs good that you have your mum with you to support you. Good luck that BF improves, if not - then don't be beating yourself up about it. I see having a new LO hasn't affected your Scrabble ability. I was hoping for a few easy victories against you sleep-deprived ones..... Not the case.
Had a terrible night's sleep, but I think that's because I had a mega lie-in the day before. Only myself to blame.
Misdee Go for a good brisk walk with your DD - might help get something started.
Hope everyone else is well today.

mum2becks · 06/11/2008 09:10

Morning, had a good nights sleep myself last night misdee didnt wake up for a wee at all which must be the first time since being pregnant!!!!!

ceebee yes it is my DD that hasnt slept well at all since moving her to a bed I really dont know why as she easily slept 12 hours or more in her cot without stirring!! The getting up during the night has improved but we now start the day any time from 5.30am!!! Must have the same ideas as I bought the 'night garden' version of that clock you linked to a few days ago, it worked the first night (partly novelty I think ) but then worked again last night so keeping going with it in the hope she gets used to it!!!!!

Please that you have your mums help now obs and hope the new BF position works out for you!

Hope everyone else is ok this morning? Still nothing happening here but thought might have had some more babies in the night!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/11/2008 09:16

Sorry folks, no firework baby from me. However, baby has either changed position or dropped slightly and I am now having intense pressure down below and the baby is actually kicking my arse, which hubby thinks is hilarious, but it just makes me yelp when he moves! I am ofcourse having some tightenings too, but when don't I have some??

Will update with any news as it happens, lol! Maybe we will get our first "live" birth, the joys of having a baby at home.

Tinkerisdead · 06/11/2008 09:19

Morning all, my baby has definatly engaged more, i seriously cant swing my hips to get out of bed etc, feels completely locked up with head and pressure in my bum! Also woke up to spasm pains in my back but as i was asleep i dint really think about it and now they have gone off.
Midwife is back again today to check the blood pressure so hopefully thats down and i dont end up back at the hospital again.
obs sorry to here of your breast feeding probs, hope the new hold/latch works out better today xx

chocolategal · 06/11/2008 09:23

morning everyone!

has anyone heard from chocorange recently?
wonder if things are happening for her...

so no fireworks babies

we all got so excited by the flurry of babies at the end of october we are going through a drought now november has come!!!

got my appt at hosp today to get scan and check babys kidneys again, no sure what else to expect, i think theres a small chance i will get a date for induction as they have said before they dont want me going over my dates (altho that is not until the 15th!)
will keep you posted....

suiledonn · 06/11/2008 09:41

Hi everyone, still no sign of babysuiledonn arriving. Sorry I haven't been around. Spent all last week in hospital with blood pressure issues. The Irish healthcare system decided to do a massive U-turn in policy and wouldn't entertain any talk of induction in the last couple of weeks, despite having said they were reviewing me for induction at 38 weeks. Due date today, baby measuring over 8lb almost 2 weeks ago so don't think I'll have such an easy time this time round. Have had several false alarms but nothing happens. Blood pressure stable on lots of medication but the meds are making me nauseous.

Congrats to Daisy. I haven't had a chance to catch up at all and doubt if I will at this stage.

I hope everyone is well and that the babies arrive safe and sound in due course.

chocolategal · 06/11/2008 09:50

morning suiledon, hoping things start for you soon and you stay well.

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 09:54

Hi all,

No bloody baby, even after curry goat and fireworks. Come on out, baby, it's nice here, we've got MILK AND CARDIGANS!

Nope, not working.

I know what you mean about the arse-kicking, HM2J, It's when it gets hiccups and bounces against my pelvis or when it scrabbles with its little claws that it's most uncomfortable, no?

Speaking of arse-kicking and Scrabble, C'mon Monkey, beating me at Scrabble is like shooting fish in a barrel! Anyone who is feeling down about their ability to use the English language can come and have a go if they think they're verbose enough... The tragedy is that I actually teach literacy IRL [sob]

Obs, good luck with the bf, am v impressed with your perserverence. Just remember if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and don't ebat yourself up.

Suiledonn, hi hon! Was beginning to wonder... Poor you, sounds awful. Don't worry about catching up when you're so poorly, basically, there is a postnatal thread for those that have had their babies and basically the rest of us are huge, pissed off and comparing ailments. I have had loads of false alarms as well, hence the pissed-off-ness over here in Saurusland.

Vbab, Saturday sounds ACE - ooh, a trip out with people who aren't DH! I bet this gets those babies moving, eh? Be lovely to meet you as well! Mine's a small Chai Tea Latte or similar if you get there first - what are you having? Anyone else want to make plans so that they can be disrupted by birth/get the hell out of the house/meet up anyway?

Okay, my mw is supposed to be here now, she is running 20 mins late. I didn't call her to confirm the appointment so I am hoping she is just late, not cancelled because she thought I'd had the bairn since last week's excitement.

Call me a nutter, I'm off ot IKEA later with MIL in a vain attempt to get a chair and have a baby. Love you and leave you, hope to see lots of lovely birth announcements when I get back tonight (inlcuding my own would be nice...)

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/11/2008 09:57

Rutho, my best friend went into proper labour in Ikea with her son, so definately go! Have fun!

vbab78 · 06/11/2008 10:15

ME,ME,ME - Feel like s**t and still no change here. Just feel really rough after having a good night's sleep with the exceptions of not going until midnight (bad, bad lady) and then being up at 3am and 4am with DS who was waking up screaming for no known good reason (hope it wasnt the fireworks). I ended up twice through me being exhausted and DH not moved and snoring beyond belief just falling asleep with DS in his "big boy" bed.

Just got up at 10am though, DS still in bed so maybe more than fireworks is up with him . Worst case I am picking my mum up from work at 1pm and if I'm tired at any point this aft she wouldnt mind me having a sleep while she has DS.

I think the s**t feeling I've had for the last two mornings I now realise is from the LAVENDER baths . I think it is from relaxing me and making me sleep so well and then the oil causing dehydration. Should have realised as I have had this feeling enough times after having aroma massages.

rutho - will respond to you later hun. sorry ... just heard DS get up.

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/11/2008 10:32

Me post coming on!

I am having a bloody show!!! Woohoo!!! OMG, the things I can get excited about, pmsl! . I have every right to be excited. I went from having a bloody show with ds2 to holding him in my arms in just under 7 hours. At least I now know I am not imagining the pressure downstairs and that something, anything is happening. Hopefully I will have a baby in the next 24 hours!

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 10:33

OMG Heartmum, fingers and everything else crossed for you, you SO deserve it!

Right, go and drink RLT and jump up and down or something, eek!

vbab78 · 06/11/2008 10:37

rutho - Chai Tea Latte?? You must be very sophisticated as no idea what that is but will give it a go. Up to you what time and where (u seem to know your coffee but need cake also) we meet at meadowhall on Sat? DH is my taxi and he would be disappear around meadowhall with DS for a hour (or more if you dont find me a bore or a freak).

Can really meet anytime in the morning but been told by DH he wants to be home for football on TV at 1pm. 10/11? Up to you and if babies dont appear by then!

LadyBuzz · 06/11/2008 10:50

HM2J good luck!
Hi to everyone else, I have read through the posts but can not actually remember anything from them!!
Ceebee don't worry too much about the scarring the consultant said it wasn't normal to have so much scar tissue after only 1 operation - I must be a freak.

ruthosaurus · 06/11/2008 10:51

Vbab, You are not a bore or a freak, hon, at least not any more than me! Anyway, other people are allowed to find us boring or freaky, that's their problem. We have mad babies making us that way...

I have a hubby with a Starbucks fixation, hence the coffee with funny names thing, but am happy to meet anywhere - Costa is also nice and does ace cake. I think it is less mind-bogglingly expensive than Starbucks - I always get a bit faint when paying for DH's Frappuchinos as I own cheaper jumpers. Isn't there a Costa right next to Debenhams or something?

I would be getting my DH to taxi me as well so I think this is a wonderful opportunity for him to go and look at boring electrical gadgets for him and potential xmas pressies for his family (I have done most of mine online but find his impossible to get for)!
He asked the other day if men get push presents and can he have a laptop. I said yes, he can have a pretend one from the ELC or he can have a slap, which would he prefer? Men are odd.

Oh gosh, I really hope this is it for Heartmum!

Just had MW visit, no sweep, no internal exam to see how dilated I am. Bollocks, not that I was looking forward to feeling like a James Herriot extra, but it would have been nice to hear the words "you are x cm dilated - well done and keep having pointless contractions". But she did say the baby is fine and not oversized and that she reckons it'll be this week, and she did remind me that I am only (!) 39+1 today. I knew that and could tell you down to the minute how pg I am...

Got to go and call MIL, need to look at cheap Swedish tat in a giant warehouse near Nottingham or Leeds.

Morning all

Just checking in to say hi - I have been reading you all but not posting.

Saurus Chai Latte's are the BEST - only from Starbucks though, I think the ones from Nero and other places are rubbish. Hmmmm... just wondering if I should wonder to Starbucks and have one with a muffin??

HM2J I am very excited (and a bit jealous!) for you!! I will be keeping an eye on the clock with a 7 hour countdown!

Obs glad you have your mum at home for some support - that should be really useful and can help you concentrate on the BF and whether you want to keep going. I know its all "breast is best" but I think happy and healthy mums and babies are the most important so do what works for you. Well done for persevering so far - it doesn't sound like you've had it easy!

Ladybuzz saw your pic of gorgeous Jay on FB - he's a cutie - well done you!

Vbab sending some hugs and PMA vibes your way - hope you feel better soon!

Chocgal Hello! and thanks for thinking of me, we gotta keep the Choc alive!!

Misdee, Mum2Becks and Hana I think I must have stolen your wees - I got up twice last night for the first time since being PG and the first time EVER! And the first time I got up I also had to have a swill of Gaviscon as I burped up some sick in my sleep. It was rather gross!

So - no baby for me yet, I am 5 days over today. I had an attempted sweep yesterday but she could only say that she could feel the baby's head (well pull it out then!) and that the cervix was soft but not effaced. I'm booked in for another on Sat so fingers crossed its more successful (or baby comes first)!

I have been offered inducement dates of the 14th or 17th when I will be 13 and 16 days over respectively. Not sure what to do yet as I can have a HB up until the 15th so maybe I will wait till the 17th when the HB window has closed. Anyone have any advice on this?

Hello to everyone else and sorry if I have missed anyone (and sorry for the mammoth post - I will try and keep more up to date!)

sparkletoes · 06/11/2008 12:04

Morning all (just!)

Am still loving Misdee's milk & cardies promise to the babies!!

OOh hope this is IT for you Heartmum!!

Waves to everyone else, only wish I was closer so I could join you for coffee Vbab & Ruthy (and I am positive I wouldn't think anyone on here was a bore or a freak IRL)

I saw your pointer to Floravital Hana they have it cheaper at our local Holland & Barrett so am going to check it out...

Off to look back for Ceebs clock link and it is now afternoon ah well!

MonkeyMargot · 06/11/2008 12:48

Good luck at Ikea rutho - you are very mad brave....it gives me palpitations just thinking about going there. Mind you, I do lurve those hotdogs you get just as you're leaving for about 50p. Hope you get your Poang chair!!
Hi choc - go for the latest induction date just in case baby arrives on the 15th itself. I'm sure you will have gone into labour before then anyhow. I'm certainly intending to. Told DH this morning that I'm planning on going into labour tomorrow, with a view to producing a baby over the weekend. PMA! We learnt it from you!
HM2J - oooh - good SHOW! Keep us posted - the first live home birth thread maybe? good luck!!!
Hana enjoy your beauty treatments! I've just done a DIY pedicure as I made the fatal error of getting my salon-pedi done too early. (Conversely - since this baby is now late I blame him/her). It was a wee bit of a struggle, but managed to file those hooves down and get some dark and dirty varnish on.
Gosh - i've done more housework in the past 2 days than I have all year. It's most satisfying. However, no sooner have I finished hoovering then the real MM bounces downstairs and rolls white hair on the rug. Cheeky monkey.

cricri · 06/11/2008 12:56

Afternoon ladies! Just been skim reading all the posts over the past couple of days to see if there had been any more new arrivals. Really sorry for those overdue and still waiting Fingers crossed your babies come soon!
Elise and I came home from hospital yesterday afternoon and I really don't know where the time is going! She's so adorable, I'll be posting some photos on my profile in due course. She's feeding well but keeping us up a night because she won't settle in her own bed yet. I guess it's because everything is all too new. She sleeps quite happily during the day though
Will be popping over to the PN thread to see what's going on there.
Good luck to everybody still waiting and hope to see some more babies very soon

Yorky · 06/11/2008 13:20

I now have an address! DH picks up keys on Dec 8

I want a baby.

Would love a day out at Ikea (totally agree about the hotdogs!

Can't believe woolies pick and mix doesn't have red licorice!)

Shattered, but just got an order for 100 choc bars from DSs sing and sign teacher to hand out to kids at end of term so happy! Apart from the fact we'll move just before the end of term so he'll miss the party

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 13:35

Yorky. you are so lovely. DS will be made up.

Great news on the house, but that DS will miss the party. Maybe send in some cakes on his last day so they can have a mini farewell party for him.

So, anymore babies? off to catch up.

It's been visitor central here today..looks like my babymoon is over!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/11/2008 13:49

hana, I did thanks Will be out tomorrow so will try and pick some up on my travels.

Go heartmum; in fact you might have been and gone and went already!!!!

rutho is brave to be going anywhere near IKEA, but then again, I did a big Costco shop at 9 days over with DS.

good to see you suiledon and choco, we were worrying about you.

We are off to see a cranial osteopath tomorrow to see if we can't fix virgil's latch a wee bit. And today is the first day I have been walking as opposed to waddling...woohoo

and Yorky sent me some of her lovely chocolate bars with all F's details on the wrapper, with some saying big sister and baby brother for DD and DS as well......they will be getting unwrapped very carefully.

Heartmum2Jamie · 06/11/2008 14:07

Still here Lacks. Waiting rather impatiently for contractions (although having one now, or maybe a strong BH)!

I have had to book a dr's appt for this afternoon as my body has the worst timing ever. I have never had thrush in my life and just started with it yesterday. Am terrified baby will pick it up and it will get in the way of breastfeeding. Talk about terrible timing. At least from everything I could see about it, there isn't much they can do if you have it when you go into labour, so shouldn't affect having baby at home.
