Wilson, for you, I hate it when they try to rush it, we had a really nice woman do the boys this year, but last year was a nightmare. The pictures cost a bloody fortune and you feel guilted into buying them no matter the results. The one of DS1 on his own last year is truely awful (which is why it is stuck out in the hall way LOL)

tinkisbigandinneedofzzzzzzzzz · 03/11/2008 12:45

cheers nat no nap for me in aft
ye for picking up buggy on sat exciting

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 14:08

Look look look look look look

I can't believe it

sorkycake · 03/11/2008 16:02

This poor memory thingy is bugging me. I've read one page of messages and now can't remember anything going on with you lot

I'm 26 weeks tomorrow (someone asked I'm sure)

I'm desperate to nap, but daren't.

Glad the sickness is abating for some, fingers crossed it's not too bad for others.

NJ I would be at the window every 5 mins too.

I love the name Cole, but dislike the name Bailey (it has overtones of a floppy-fringed american boy to me, that or a drink I'm lethal with). Don't whatever you do add a thread to babynames tho'. It's been a bit vicious recently over there.

NJ how about Patrick or Edward? Those lines?

sorkycake · 03/11/2008 16:03

Oh I forgot to add
I went to the Kiddicare site yesterday to check they still had stock of my Phil & Teds, but they aren't offering the same deal on it?

Am I being too hopeful to think if I hold off buying there might be a January sale?

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 16:09

Hello,

We picked out a nice carpet that's being fitted on Monday. MIL was fine today so that was good.

My new sling arrived today but I haven't got a clue how it works so I'll have watch the dvd.

Saw consultant this afternoon. He has made me an appointment for the 8th December. DH doesn't think I'll make it though. 1 small question for you all

Why do all midwifes, consultants etc have cold hands?

Nat, I don't believe you, there isn't a bottom to the laundry basket, it's impossible.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 16:56

Sorky, no need to be window watching, I know they will ring before the furniture is delivered, or at least they should do, if they don't they'll be sorry because there is no way they'd get it in without DH having cleared the way!

Patrick and Edward are along the exact lines I want, but Patrick is a family name that's already been used in this generation, and Edward is my favorite (to shorten to Ned) but DH says Ned sounds like Nerd so won't go with it. Others that I like are: Seth, Seb(astian), Bradley (can't have because of the BO thing) Also like Samuel, but my sister is Sam... DH likes Charley, but I don't like it, mainly because we are up north, I am a southerner, and Charley in a southern accent sounds v. posh to a northerner, so I have to be careful how names sound as well. DS1 and 2 are Thomas and George, obvious choices are Max and William, which I do like, but I want something slightly more erm.... funky is the wrong word, but a bit like that, less obvious maybe?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 16:59

Sorry pressed post too soon!

Kay, glad you got the MIL carpet sorted I think the training the MW'S/cons go through actually is based on how to keep cold hands! Though must admit, one cons I saw in DS2's pregnancy had very warm hands, and I must admit to feeling a bit nervy, felt like he was actually touching me

2beautifulgalsandabean · 03/11/2008 17:12

Hi everyone

Glask- glad your out of the hospital and feeling better, hope that you have been able to rest today.

Heebee- good luck tomorrow, what time is your scan?

Wilson- school photo last year DD1 first school photo and she looks really mean, have you ever seen that episode of friends when chandler and monica are getting photos done to put in paper and chandler just won't/can't smile? Well my DD looked like him My two have thiers on Friday however due to scan my nan is having to take them.

Kayz- glad MIL wasn't too bad today and what colour did you choose? What sling did you get?

Diege- hope the popping into work went ok and the sickness has been better for you today.

Tink- have been thinking about you and your tiredness have you been tested for anemia? I know you will be tired being heavily pregnant and a little one to look after but might just but something to consider?

NJ- exciting stuff about your buggy. Names for you Austin, Noah, Jacob, Caleb, Saul, Nathaniel? Any of those take your fancy

I'm feeling pants again been sick several times today but only little bits. still eating drinking, hoping it will pass soon.

Diege · 03/11/2008 17:18

LOL NAT - where I'm from Charley is usually a girl's name, usually yelled in a rauceous 'get here Charley you little sh*t!!!'
Great going on carpet Kay! You'll tame the beast yet
SORKY, I think offers on kiddicare are quite hit and miss. Don't remember any Jan ones as such. What a pain about the offer. May be worth dropping them an e-mail?
Mentioned to dh that I was getting a bit nervous about Thursday's scan.
Conversation went like this.
Me: 'I'm a bit nervous about the scan'
dh: Why's that then?
me: Well, why d'you think??
dh: what, you think might be bad news? It's not going to change anything, so don't worry.

Mmm, I feel sooo much better for that conversation!

sorkycake · 03/11/2008 17:48

Sorry Diege, but I had to have a little chuckle at that Dh convo.
Mine would've said exactly the same...they simply don't get it do they?

Nat I like Edward personally, it's my dad's name and I think quite versatile. You can shorten it to Ned, Eddy or Ted, all good options for either a small child teen or older man I reckon. Plus, it's just a classy name and goes really well with your 2 Ds's. But maybe I'm a little bit bias.

We know one Charlie up here, he's very nice, but it's not a common name for a boy up north. Iirc it's the boys' father's surname and he and mum are unmarried. Most are girls shortened from Charlotte. Still nice though.

I would've chosen Gabriel if this one was a boy.

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 17:52

Oh yeah I forget to say earlier there were Ketones in my urine. So I've made an appointment to see the MW on Thursday as the consultant didn't really explain very well.

Kiddicare were brilliant when I ordered my Phil and Teds the other week.

Nat, I love Seth. I know exactly want you mean about Charley and southern accents.

2bg, Its a kinda dark biege colour carpet. Which will go well with the colours we are painting the room. I got this one off Ebay. It has all the instructions with it, I think it maybe my pregnancy brain. Luckily there is a dvd.

What has happened to the mothercare website?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 18:00

2BG, sorry you're feeling poorly There is a lot of crap to go through to get that baby at the end of it (that puts you through more crap, forever!! ) I love Austin, Noah, Jacob, and Caleb, DH has said no, not so keen on Saul, and Nathan/iel is too much like my name, I really like Nate as a shortening, but again, t'is the same as mine!

Diege, Charley as a girl's name is also why I don't like it! Round here, I am surprised most of the mums would even know which name to shout out! about your conversation with DH, as Sorky says they really just don't get it, no matter how much they try. I am sure come Thursday it's have entered his mind space how you will be feeling, I find that with DH, he just doesn't do the build up thing that I do, things will bother him on the day, not before IYKWIM?

Sorky, your "all good options for either a small child, teen, or older man" is exactly why I love Ned. I might win him round yet! Might think of some awful names to make him see that the best I can come up with is Ned!

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 18:05

Nat, Suggest things like Billy-Bob and Jonny-Ray. Some really bad American style names. Maybe he'll come round to Edward. I love the name but can't use it. Can't really have Freddie and Eddy.

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 18:07

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I got Mum to put the pram back on Ebay. I've just checked to see if there are any bids and its gone. Someone might have bought it for the buy it now price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 18:10

Oh monkey poop!!! It is there, it just didn't come up in the normal search I do for it.

Going to cry now!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 18:10

Sorry Kay x posts, and then DS2 pushed his high chair tray off with his whole dinner on it, grrrrrr....

I have ordered from Kiddicare before now, they were great, but their deals do come and go, right place, right time and all that.

Carpet sounds good

You just reminded me about your appointment Kay, I rang for my blood results they did when I went for my Anti-D, had to get him to go and get the doctor to read the results even though they've had them since Wednesday last week, yes I am anaemic, when I asked what the kidney and liver results were, he said "Oh the doc didn't read those" I have a MW appointment tomorrow so I just said I'd speak to her about it tomorrow. Bloody useless they are!

Right DH is home, so I am off for the night, have a good one everyone, Heebee hope your scan goes well tomorrow Is it someone else's tomorrow as well? Good luck if it!! xxx

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/11/2008 18:11

Nat, I have just put it on here with a link to the Ebay page. I'm hoping someone will spot it.

GruffaloSoldier · 03/11/2008 19:01

Hello all

Have just caught up.

I have my 16 week apt at 8.30am tomorrow (im 16+5), Im a bit nervous if I'm honest. I don't think I will ever stop worrying.

I thought I felt the baby this morning too but not sure. Felt like bubbling and slight shifting but TBH it was probably wind

I also woke up with a rash on my face this morning but it seems to have gone now - phew!

NJ- what about Isaac, Henry, Alexander ?
I LOVE Sebastian! Agree that Edward is versatile and goes well with your other DS names. Keep working on DH

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 03/11/2008 19:07

Hello!!

NJ - am v impressed with your laundry basket! Mine also usually has an endless supply!

tink - well done for not sleeping. I think it's definitely worth a go and hope you get a good night tonight.

Re names, I'm going to be brave and come straight out with what our names are... We seem to have been v decisive on this...
For a boy Owen Edward
DH was v close to his grandfather Owen and one of my GFs was called Edward. It seems to go... Well we think so anyway!
For a girl Aoife Rose or Aoife Grace
DH is irish and we wanted an irish name that none of his nieces already had! We like Aoife (pronounced Eefa). Had worried about difficult spelling but hey I always get asked how to spell my v common first name and our surname so I've decided not to worry!
Do you prefer Rose or Grace as a middle name though?
Btw, our surname is Davis.

Oooh - feel like I've let out a really big secret now!

I have been wanting to eat cheese and yoghurt today!?! Do you think my body's telling me I need calcium?

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 03/11/2008 19:09

Sorry Gruff - x-posted!

Diege · 03/11/2008 19:35

Glad its not just my dh then
Good luck for scan tomorrow GRUFF - you will be fine!!! Bet those bubbles are starts of movement too
Agree KAY, you may have more luck selling through mumsnet. Also, are you willing to courier out or is it collection only? That again might effect saleability.
NAT I love NED!!! You have to go with it - it's so 'right'!
SES, Rose or Grace go well with Aoife - maybe Grace by a whisker?
Hope you get a good sleep tonight TINKS - missing the nap should have helped.
And good luck with scan tomorrow HEEBS - is it am or pm?
Oh work was OK btw - managed to avoid most people, and get the pen drives etc I needed. Now I actually have to get some work done!
Night all xxx

GruffaloSoldier · 03/11/2008 19:38
