right going to try again!

nj - sorry for all your troubles - hope things get better for you soon!

exciting about nappies kay - my friend just recommended me flexitots so I might use them.she went to 'the nappy lady' i think its the same person as you said Gyo!she has given me her card.

i am still in bed i was wide awake at crack of dawn today - very unlike me and on my day off too!

saw my friend yest who is 4 days overdue - had a lovely lunch with her for 3 hours!!!

I am 18+1 today and still having nausea. no signs of energy boost either

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/11/2008 11:59

Hi Gruff- glad i'm not the only one still siffering with sickness- its the pits isn't it!!?? Dont know how you've coped so long without getting medication!! I feel like such a wuss!! Are you still being sick or just feeling sick?

LaTourEiffel · 14/11/2008 12:04

Have just had an announcement at work that no salary review in December, it will be done in April instead .

Work is pants. I had planned to be on maternity leave when the going got tough, but with the way the economy is going, I guess that still could be the case!

(That makes it sound like I only want a baby to not go to work but that's not the case obviously!)

Diege, I did excl. bf till 6 months, then obv. started introducing solids, then at about 7.5 months I introduced formula into the day time and at 9 months he refused bf altogether which was about a week before I went back to work. He then went on to formula milk till a year old, but as Glask says, these timescales can all be compressed so that you just bf during maternity leave and introduce formula thereafter. Like you, I didn't fancy expressing at work - they'd have had to set up a room for me to do it in and I didn't want all the attention that would come with it. Also didn't fancy having my milk in the fridge in the kitchen!!!

One of the girls at another site did do it though, and they put a 'comedy' sign on the door with a picture of a cow on it, saying Do Not Enter - Milking in Progress. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid!

Glask, sorry you're still being sick, it does sound rather like you're in it for the long haul.

Diege, you need to take the tablets so that you can get nutrients in, they wouldn't have given them to you lightly - take them and enjoy the relief they bring I say - you deserve it!

Kay - PG with DS is def. without a doubt going to be tougher than pg without DC in terms of tiredness etc, I think the theory is that you know how good the prize is though so you just put up with it . I can't imagine what its going to be like, I used to nap all the time during my lunch hours as had a bed at work at old offices, but there isn't one here.... Nappies sound good, I look forward to hearing how you get on with them - if you find time to post once your brand new DS has arrived! (makes him sound like a DS play thingy - DS Lite anyone? )

NJ - glad you're home and glad they're doing tests rather than just carrying on as you were, as you said, far too much interruption at a time when you should be getting as much rest as possible and enjoying family life before it gets disrupted! Not long to go now! Maybe I'll come and visit

Tink - I'd say spatone sounds like a good idea but reckon better to check with a pharmacist - Ses?

Best go, am at work !

GruffaloSoldier · 14/11/2008 12:12

hi glask - no i have never been sick, just nauseous and gagging!is def better than it was - still im not sure its going to go now but who knows? soory that you are still being sick, im sure that is much worse

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/11/2008 12:14

LaTour- I had sickness all the way throguh with Ds, so i'm gathering as the hyperemesis has been worse this time it'll be the same all the way through... oh well, i'm nearly halfway now, so only another length to go... and it'll all be worth it in the end!!

Thing is i dont remember it bothering me so much with DS, however a friend i met at anti-natal classes said she remembers about 4 weeks before we were due and we'd gone out for a coffee and breakfast and i had to run off and be sick!! good sign is i have obviously forgotten how bad it was!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/11/2008 12:17

I dont know.... some days when i'm feeling sick i actually wish i would be sick as the sicky feeling fades for a few mins after you've been sick!!... oh no- i sound like a puking expert!!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 14/11/2008 12:35

hi

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/11/2008 12:45

I'm off for a nap.... i'm still feeling exhausted!! and i have a lot to do this afternoon in the dining room. and hoping to get some more wrapping done this evening, want all the wrapping done by end of next week.

wilsonmummy · 14/11/2008 12:53

Hey all,

Just had a skim read through as missed loads in the last couple of days, sorry for all those with sickness, i still not been sick yet just have a sicky feeling in pit on stomach.

Latour.. pants about job, i don't know whats going to happen to me after xmas when the lloydstsb takeover has been confirmed!! oh the joys of credit crunch!

Just read that thread Kay, was giggling to myself, not sure how i'd handle that though if it was my 2dd doing that Think dh would go potty!!

Gyo..i got a grumpy dh on my hands to this morning, phoned him whilst he at work to let him know got to take pooch to vets as got canker in the ear and he had a right go at me saying that i needn't take the dog to the F@8king vets every time there's something wrong with her!! (had to take her 2 weeks ago as had severe rash and scabs over her tummy) cost us a bomb!! ohhhhhhhhhhhh

Can't remember much else, someone mentioned bf unfortunatly i failed both times, dd1 actually took my nipple off (tmi i know) i tried for ages even had a bf midwife try and latch her on, but she actaully gave up too!! And dd2 had a very weak suck and kept falling asleep at the boob until i had to pippette milk into her mouth and she was taking less than 5ml at any time!!

Helloo everyone.

Been reading but no posting sorry.

Sorry you were back in hospital last night NJ- hope the babe is a little more active today. Do you think the contractions are affecting him?

Latour- good going on the close date for op. must be good to beable to move forward. I was up the day after the op and home after 2 days. because i was getting the pain literally everyday after the op i felt like a new woman.

Diege- sorry for the sickness but glad you have medication to help. When i visited my doc asking for something at around 8-9 weeks at my worst he refused until it got bad enough to be admitted to hospital. Still have waves and days that are worse than others but getting there. Do what you think is best.

Tink- i personally don't think you should take spatone as your levels are not low yet. My friend who is a trainee midwife told me that taking additional iron when not needed can do more harm than good. You should be getting enough from you vitamins. They should check blood at next appointment if lower then you can start spatone then double dose and it will be effective by the time babe arrives.

Kayz- exciting only 4 weeks left, sorry you are suffering this time, it is harder when you have a lo to look after and can't nap when you want. How is the back?

GYO- sorry for grumpy DH, mine is useless in the morning. Not grumpy as such just its like he sets himself a time to get out of bed and won't budge until then, even with me and the kids screaming at him.

Wilson- how are you?

HEEBEE- good luck for today.

Think that is it? Sorry if i have missed anyone or anything important.

My dizziness has subsided thank god so not getting an eye test done as i know its not my eyes.
Still feeling sicky, but haven't actually thrown up for 2 days (touch wood) Been where my sickness bands so not sure if they are helping. Hoping to bloom very soon please Woke up this morning feeling very horny gave DH the surprise of his life poor thing hasn't been able to come near me for weeks and weeks because his smell makes me heave
However since the GOF this morning i feel very uncomfortable, only 13+3 so no real bump. However feel like i am having tightenings. I know from last time i was having BH from about 19 weeks anytime i had a GOF. Do you think its possible from 13 weeks?

still trying to decide all the arrangements for eurodisney. Has anyone here been?

Finally changed our flights to America, we are now leaving June 30th, excited, nervous and a bit more excited. My nan is going to fly out with us and stay for a couple of weeks then go and stay with her daughter before returning to the UK. Will be very helpful as we will have 3 kids, and at least 8 cases!!!!

Diege · 14/11/2008 14:28

Afternoon! Good to hear from you 2BG - I had BH with dd3 from about 13 weeks; midwife said normal to have them early the more babies you have . Great news about your summer hol plans - I'm sure the thought of the flight will be worse than the reality! Fingers crossed your sickness is just giving you a final goodbye!
WILSON, you sound a saint to have persevered with bf after what you went through . I am weighing up either going back in Jan or Sept - think sep might be pushing it a bit, but because of term times no point going back before Jan if not Sept, so may stretch it out to the full 6 months leave this time (well, 5 months or so plus hols added on). Thanks for advice of bf everyone - makes sense to try and keep it going and then bottle feed when at work in day time. I succesfully supplemented with formula (one bottle last thing) with dd1 without any problems with supply, so may do that again to get no.4 used to the bottle.
LATOUR - rubbish about work. They did the same thing at ours last year, and the supposed move to Sept still hasn't occured . It is promised in Nov pay packet though! Agree, not keen on 'milking in progress' sign stuck on office door - think it would attract crowds rather than peace and quiet!
Sorry about sickness GRUFF - I truly admire those of you that have it to contend with after 12 weeks!
Still in dressing gown and have given up on getting dressed today. DD3 is 'complying' and watching TV, so roll on bed time!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 14/11/2008 14:45

i have just received my lamaze bits and plush miffy they are all lovely

have just read about my pronatal vitamins ment to take on a full stomach have been taking before a meal oops.

dh is going to get me some spatone on the way home from pharmicist

just waiting for taggy book now

have just washed dds old taggy blanket for baby

Diege · 14/11/2008 14:53

Oh TINKS I wish I was your baby - it will have so much great stuff!!

Anyone know when HEEBS' scan is/was?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/11/2008 15:29

Hello
No idea re Heebee's scan. Hoping all is ok.....
Diege- Have drugs started to work now?

Wilson- think moody DHs in the morning are standard really. Mine hasnt been in touch ALL day and he usually rings up all the time... will find it hard not to laugh at him if he is still sulking.

Ouch re nipple coming off!

Hi everyone else...

Diege · 14/11/2008 15:34

Hi GYO! Am still umming and ahhing over whether to take the meds after stupid googling A few more days like today though and my mind will be made up.
LOL at sulking dh's - mine is having a good spell at the moment, but boy do we know when a mood hits!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/11/2008 15:42

Understand being wary about the drugs. But i guess if feeling sick takes over it has to be better than hospital- hope you can naturally feel ok about what to do.

Clearly not good that your DH sulks to but good to hear that its not just mine that indulges in sulking.

Friday afternoon at last.

Pot of Wagon tea anyone?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/11/2008 15:57

Right, I am going to attempt a catch up but the boys seem to have taken something to make them run round like headless chickens, and am waiting for one or both to end up in tears, will they never learn? (Sound like my mum )

OK here goes...

Tink, I think 4 weeks between is OK, you'll probably find it will then be 38, maybe 39, defo 40 weeks and then 41 and 42 if needed. I wouldn't worry too much about the iron levels, firstly 10.5 is fine anyway, secondly unless you request it, they probably won't test your levels again anyway, so they'd be none the wiser come time to give birth. I am sure you've been told this already, but there is no harm taking the Spatone, on it's own, I'd ask if it is OK to take it with the pro-natel ones you're already taking though, too much iron can be just as dangerous as too little. Also, at any time you taking iron (vits or food form) fresh orange juice helps you to absorb the iron much better than just on it's own. Great that your things have arrived I am still waiting for a phone call about the furniture, at this rate the baby will beat it!

Kay, hooray for nappies You are brave!

Playing, thanks for checking on me! I have no idea what is going to happen re. care from here on in, I would guess they will put me under the cons now, everytime I've gone in and had to expalin why I wasn't from the start I get looks. Hope you're not forcing yourself to do too much at work.

Diege, I am with LaTour re. the tablets, though can see where you're coming from with this possibly being the last week of bad sickness. T'is your call obviously, just don't feel like you have to be wonder woman to get through it, if you need the meds, then take them.

LaTour, works sounds pretty dire at the moment, just when things were picking up in your personal life as well. And you know you are more than welcome to come and visit, whenever you want to, but only if you bring that gorgeous boy of your's with you!

Wilson, nothing else just Oh and an 'OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW'!

2BG, good news about the flights etc. Very exciting, very nerve racking as well though no doubt! The contractions do effect the baby in the normal ways, HB dips a bit etc. but it doesn't seem to effect his movements, yesterdays one movement was just after a contraction, but I've had probably another 40 odd big contractions, plus the BH, since then and no movement following.

Can't remember who was saying about BH (sorry ) but yes, BH started this time around 13 weeks, possibly slightly before but deffo by 13 weeks they were getting going properly.

And last but not least, sorry to all those feeling/being sick, and sorry for anythign I have missed, boys are still charging around, they must be on borrowed time by now.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/11/2008 15:59

Ooooh I'd love a brew please GYo

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/11/2008 16:00

ok pot is warming as we speak

ps- very impressed with your catch up ! puts me to shame

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/11/2008 16:03

LOL I always sit on pins for a while after a big catch up, I know I'd have missed something along the line and then imagine people sat there thinking 'huh, she's remembered about all that and forgot me' LOL

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 14/11/2008 16:46

nat app will be 5 week gap between yesterdays and when i see her again. will stick with the spatone spoke to midwife earlier said fine to take with sanatogen
as i have been feeling more tired lately

Diege · 14/11/2008 17:12

Hi NAT! Wow, great catch up . How have the movements been today?
My hand is itching closer to meds as have just been badly sick with blood . The end is tantalisingly close now though. If I had anothjer 6 weeks or so of sickness I would have no hesitation, but maybe I can just get through? Think I will work on a day at a time basis at the mo' and play it by ear.
DD2's birthday tomnorrow, so gearing up for a busy one. DH is out all day at some cycling thing so mum and dad are coming over - will help I think...
Getting a bit worried about HEEBS - really hope everything is OK.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/11/2008 17:28

Sorry Tink, must have miscalculated the weeks, I'd say if you're happy to wait the five weeks then go with it, or just take it on a daily basis, if you find yourself getting a bit anxious then ring and see if she will fit you in just for a quick check up. 5 weeks does seem a long time to leave it at the end of a pregnancy but she must be fairly certain you'd be OK left that long, else she'd have fitted you in sooner, so I'd take it a sign that everything is going very well

Evening Diege No movements at all today. I am toying with the idea of not even ringing them tonight, but then I think well if something did happen I'd never forgive myself. Sorry for bad sickness, what causes the blood? Is it just the force gagging? You know your body best, and you know your worry levels best! You need to do what you are comfortable with.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/11/2008 17:29

Bloody hell, pressed send too quickly!

Also meant to wish DD2 a very happy birthday, hope the day goes well and to join you in hoping Heebs is OK, fingers crossed she's just too busy celebrating to worry about MN!

Diege · 14/11/2008 17:33

NAT I would definitely ring (but then we have just established I ama terrible worrier)Seriously though, you're right about never forgiving yourself, and while I am 99.9999999999999999% sure that things are fine, it's the 'what if's' that are hard to live with. Go on...make that call!

Oh and blood is caused by trauma to something or other, causing blood vessels to burst I think? Maybe fellow sickers KAY or GLASK (or GRUFF?, SORKY?) know?
