Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 12/11/2008 10:27

I know NAT it was my 10am appointment
If you're happy using your voucers for moan cards that would be very generous of you...call it your xmas pressie for the wagon?
HEEBS - mmm, now banana and choc cake does sound quite good actually. Great for lifting blood sugars too. I am going to try a crackerwheat with cheese spread...

Colleague just rang and she is coming round at 11.30 to leach the contents of my brain. She wouldn't take no for an answer and just kept on moving to other days/times, so figured better to just get out of the way. She needs to have something written for Friday, and apparently only I will do . Should be flattered but just really pissed off..
OK, that's 2 moan cards depositing in wagon bank...

Diege · 12/11/2008 10:29

LOL, yes GYO Harvey was caught for no good reason, and is now giving me daggers with his beady black eyes...Agree about anti-climax, though maybe it's a sign that I, Queen of the epidural, should have a home birth??? Might mention it to midwife tomorrow just to see her reaction

GYo · 12/11/2008 10:33

LOL about Harvey

Definately go for homebirth! I am really considering it now but DH is very nervous about it all.... Did you have an epi for all of the other 3?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 10:38

Diege in demand, it's a hard life!

Homebirth... tried and failed last time, have given up trying this time, if they won't induce me, it'll be at home anyway, I have a very slim chance of making it to the hospital on time, but I will bet my clubcard vouchers they wouldn't let me go for a homebirth now, so not only will I be alone, I'll have no HB kit, no MW on call, If I don't think about it, it's not scary.

2beautifulgalsandabean · 12/11/2008 10:40

Morning.

Diege- i have experienced the sick through nose a few times this pregnancy definately yuk! Sorry about midwife having a morrisons brekkie

latour- good luck today.

Sorry head hurting too much to remember anything.

Need to ask what you think would do?
just got back from docs as have been having dizziness/off balance for 3 days now plus blurred vision in right eye. Its not low BP as it only happens when i look down, look right and worst when i am lying down in bed and move about. I feel like i am being thrown about, like my head being thrown back. My vision in right eye is off and i wear glasses and keep taking them off as think i have a smudge on them.
The doc did loads of tests and looked in eyes ears, got me lying down and moving head about. Thought it was something to do with inner ear got me to do all these things and no better so now wants me to go for an eye test. I only had new glasses 6 weeks ago and had an eye test then. I know its not that but won't do anything else until then.
However 18 months ago i had a very serious car accident i was driving and hit a bus head on. Broken my leg and fractured knee cap plus had seriuos head injuries.
I woke up the day after the crash and my vision was like overlapped, couldn't see without covering one eye, vision very blurred when looking to right. I had various scans, MRI, CAT echo etc etc they thought something had happened to an artery at back at my neck. After a week my vision started to improve and i no longer looked like a pirate to see So afterwards i was getting this same dizziness/off balnace feeling and blurredness for a long time gradually improving. Saw the neurologist probably 9 months ago for follow up and he said it looked like i had a mini stroke. Anyway sorry for so long. I know it feels like this that happened to me before, you know your own body right?
I can't get an opticians appointment until saturday with normal optician. Would you go into town and pick any optician that could give you an appointmant sooner? If i don't get to see opticians until Saturday can't see doctor until Monday/tuesday and its not the easiest thing to live with!
What would you do?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 10:43

GYo- go for a homebirth!!!!! I am, had one with DD- was amazing!!!!

Diege- now of all the hundreds, possibly thousands of times i've been sick with MS i've never been sick through my nose!! REALLY feeling for you!!!

Nat- i think i may need one of those moan cards... not for pregnancy, but for neighbour!!!

OK- moan paragraph- neightbour is having a conservatory built on the back- looks like it'll be pretty big, and dont think he's owned the house long enough for planning permission to have been granted yet!! Cowboy Builders?? anyway they have been digging the foundations over the last few days, only i noticed last night that they'd been piling it all against the fencing between both our driveways.... and its breaking it!!!! The big thick wodden bits that are holding the whole fence together are bowing and snapping, in towards my driveway. Now that fence was in PERFECT condition, and i dont wanna have to replace it because he hasn't hired a skip for it all!!! What can i do??

also got all the wrapping paper for the kids presents... will make a very big dent into the kids presents tonight once they are in bed i think!!

then went to the bank and realised i'd miscalculated a payment going in by a week... so we're now skint till payday!! Luckily i have a freezer and fridge full to last till payday, so will only need essentials on food, and DH has a full tank of petrol so will only need a couple of days worth of fuel to get to work next week!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 10:47

ooh- x-posted 2BGAAB.... i think i'd probs go to any that can get you an app today if it were me. Doesn't sound like a nice thing to cope with. I'm having slight dizzy spells if stand up too fast atm, and just that is bad enough!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 10:54

2BG, deffo go to the optician ASAP, it's just a formality to get it out of the way, and then go and bang your GP's door down. I don't know anything very much about head injuries etc. but as you say, you know your body, you know you've felt like this before, go and get it checked. It might well just be because of the extra pressure on your body being pregnant that anything that has a weakness already is going to show up IYKWIM? Hope you can get it sorted as soon as possible.

Glask, is it your fence, or theirs? If theirs, ignore it, they have to fix it, if yours, take pictures now, time and date stamped, while all of the stuff is piled against it. Aproach the neighbour nicely and point out that it is breaking your fence, and ask that they put it all back straight. I wouldn't go in all guns blazing, will only put their back up.

kayzisexpecting · 12/11/2008 11:09

2BG, I would go and see an optician straight away. Just to be on the safe side.

I'm so annoyed with the bank. We got the cheque from the old flat and I paid it in on Monday. But it shows up as being in the account but it isn't really in the account yet so I can't order the last bits and bobs for baby. If it is not spendable it shouldn't show up as being in the account.

My moan card for the day.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 11:13

I think its theirs, but not 100% certain on the boundaries... We went halves with the old owner when we first bought the house, so its only 3 years old. And it cost us £100 for half of it....

I'm not the type to be able to go all guns blazing... I said to DH that if it doesn't break any more maybe he should just get some screws and screw the bit thats badly snapped back together to make it secure again....

Thing is, when they moved in 2 weeks ago they gave us a really nice sofa... we were really grateful etc etc... then they started bringing loads of old tat round saying 'here have this' etc etc... i have binned most of it as it was broken, unwanted and unusable by anyone... I still have an old rusty stepper thingy sat in my hallway that i want to throw out, but fear they'll see me out their window or something!!

There is a bit of the fencing (not the same bit that their builders are breaking at the driveway) between our houses that is falling down, woden pillar has snapped but still holding up for now... He asked about going halves, we said not a problem, let us know how much and when etc... really nice, now i'm thinking he'll think we'll do the same for the rest of the fence thats broken.

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 11:26

Hi all,

Only really skim read the last little bit so I hope I haven't missed anything important.

Nat - How are you and the infamous swelling/blood pressure saga

GYo - want a great scan photo - much better than my 20 wk photos

Deige - I hate being sick through the nose, have doen that a lot this pg and its truly horrid.

2BG - go to the optiticians. If they think its serious they can refer you to the eye dept at the local hospital themselves and skip out the whole gp thing. About 3 years ago I was having real blurring issues with my eye and couldn't get to see the gp quickly so went to the optitcian where they though it was inflamation of the iris which can be quite serious and they refered me straight to the hospital.

Glask - sorry to hear about your fence issues - hope you get it sorted.

Hi everyone else - sorry if I missed anyone.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 11:30

Kay it is annoying with cheques, I will grrrr with you!

Glask, a good guide to whose is whose fence is that usually the owner has the 'nicest' looking side, i.e. the fence faces them, so the posts are on the back of it IYSWIM? If the posts are in the middle though that doesn't help you!

TBH the chances are, because they will have very recently seen the boundries for themselves, if he is happy to break it, he knows it's his and so as long as he's willing to pay for it to be fixed/replaced then that is up to him. Also him asking about going halves on the broken post so soon suggests to me he know's it's his and is trying to get out of having to pay the full cost. Maybe I am just too what's that word?? T'is gonna bug me till I remember what it is now!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 11:36

Hiya Playing Good to see you're still about.

I am OK I think, thanks! Had a bit of a scare on Monday with the baby not moving all day, and then his heart beat being all over the place for a couple of hours at the hospital, but it settled down and all is calm again!

How are you?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 11:36

ok- so the back of the fencing is to me, but We replaced it with the little old lady who lived their last (not told new neighbour that though) and her brother put them all in, and it just happened that they faced into her driveway, doesn't bother us...

I'm thinking maybe he does know about the boundary... their house is slighty up the hill from us, and their fence runs the full length of the house and garden on a slightly higer level of cencrete/foundations than ours... and all their back garden fence is about 3 ft above our garden's grass level so i know that fence in the garden will definatley be theirs... i may just have to dig out our deeds and work it out...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 11:39

sorry playing, replied about ym fence and forgot to say Hi to you!!!

Hope you are well. how far are you now??

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 11:41

Can you remember how the fence was facing before it was replaced?

The set up of the fencing (i.e. the bit about it being higher on their side) sounds very similar to one side on ours, however, don't assume it's their just because it's higher, we are higher than our neighbours on one side, but it is their fence, on the other side we are the same level and it is our fence.

kayzisexpecting · 12/11/2008 11:47

Hi Playing, Hope you are well. How far gone are you now?

I have a feeling the baby has just engaged. He feels a lot lower down and it's really pushing on my bladder. I need a camping toilet downstairs or something!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 11:49

no it was all broken and old when we bought the house so DH just removed it while we were emptying the house... so i dont know which way it faced, we were going to replace it, and the little old lady came out and said she was going to replace it soon anyway so we decided to go halves.

argh!!! i am just worried that his builders have broken the fence we helped pay for and we'll have to pay the same amount to replace it again because we're too nice to say no... and that we also have to pay half towards the other broken bit.... when this summer we spent over £200 on fence panels for the other side- payed for it all ourselves afetr her kids broke the other fence panels we'd bought when we bought the house!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 11:53

oooh- a van pulled up with a trailer about 10mins ago... 2 men are now clearing all the rubble and concrete thats against the fence so we may be able to rescue it this evening so it will be ok!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 11:59

Oh fingers crossed you can save it then

Right, I am going to get DS2 into bed, and get the doppler out, not had any movements today, on Monday they gave me a kick chart to fill in for the next week, yesterday's was done by 4.30am, todays hasn't even started!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 12:04

think i'm on the doppler when my 2 get their naps!!

I better get them lunch as the sooner they get that the sooner they get naps!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 12:40

Hi Guys,

Nat - sorry for your scare on Monday, you really havent had any luck have you?

Thanks everyone for asking about me, I am ok 23/24wks now, beginning to loose track! Things seem to be fine apart from hip/pelvis/lower back pain which is beginning to cause a problem (which I am hoping is not the start of SPD) but as I sit for work and don't really have to walk anywhere its not effecting me too badly. Will talk to MW when I next see her which is next week I think. So nothing really to complain about here, certainly life is a lot easier than the first 16 wks, I can cope with a bit of pain (old hand at that ) much better than sickness!

How is everyone else? Been far too busy at work to keep on top of it all.

kayzisexpecting · 12/11/2008 12:45

Shattered and fed up Playing, but apart from that fine. Just feel like time is dragging and that these last few weeks will really drag.

I hope you haven't got SPD. I don't have it but do have a bad back and its horrible.

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 12:55

Bet you can't wait till its all over Kay! Not long now

I hope so too, hoping its just my body complaining (it does like to do that )but if it gets much worse I think I will have to get it investigated just in case.

kayzisexpecting · 12/11/2008 13:01

I think the sleepless nights, feeding, nappy changes etc are easier to cope with than actually being pg.

DH did read somewhere that woman produce a hormone once they have given birth that means they make more energy from less sleep. He was most annoyed that Dads don't get it too.
