Sat at work totally bored out of my mind and here till 8pm, not sure if i can put up with this all day!!

2BG..def think you should have an opticians app asap chick!

How far gone into pregnancy do you have to be before you can use a doppler? Thinking of buying one!!

kayzisexpecting · 12/11/2008 14:02

Wilson, MWs start using dopplers after 16 weeks but quite a few people on here, Nat being one of them I think have got a heartbeat earlier.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 14:05

my doppler arrived when i was 16+4 and i found a heartbeat the same day... MW struggled to find it later the same day at my app!!

wilsonmummy · 12/11/2008 14:51

I've slept again - it's getting a habbit now Though for once I actually feel better for it. Still no movements but HB OK. Can't remember who asked now but I picked the HB up around 10 weeks-ish I think, can't remember, it was either 9 or 10 weeks Although I have a proper ultrasound doppler, same as the MW's, rather than a listener type one, which I'm led to believe do tend to take longer to pick the HB up. I think if you know you'll end up getting one, and if you can prepare yourself for not finding it just because it's too early, and then not spend the next x amount of weeks panicking about not finding it, then just get it, the earlier you try, the earlier you'll pick it up!

Not sure what to do re. movements, she said to ring them if I didn't get 10 movements in 10 hours, have been awake since 5.30am so nearly 10 hours and nothing, but I know he's OK because I've heard the HB.

Also have spoken to LaTour, I'm sure she will want to deliver the details, but I think I can say all is well, and she seems pleased with the outcome

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 16:11

Wilson - MW used a doppler on me at around 13 wks and found a heartbeat.

NJ - not sure what to advise, really not an expert maybe, ring them and tell them no movement but you are regularly checking heartbeat and all is ok. That way its up to them to really decide what to do/

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 16:19

I think I'll give it till 5 (they don't have to know I was awake at 5.30, I could have woken at 7), if still no movements then I'll ring and see what they say. See I'm not worried as such because obviously I know the HB is OK, but I don't want to take the kick chart in next Tuesday and for them to see that it had gone over 10 hours and I'd not done anything.

I am wondering though why he has gone from having fairly regular active periods to nothing all day, and with there being questions over his HB on Monday, I am a bit worried that something is going on in there, probably way over the top, but I mean with the placenta or something.

Roll on 5 o'clock! In fact no, roll on some movements baby!

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 16:31

Yes lets hope baby kicks soon. I think ringing at 5 is a good idea, it is wise to keep them informed.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 16:40

God to have DS1's pregnancy would be bliss at the moment! I didn't once have to go for any extra checks, or have kick charts and blood tests and goodness knows what else! This baby has had me in hospital more times than in my whole life time!

Starshinetiger · 12/11/2008 16:49

Just a quick post to say hi.
2BGAAB - sorry to hear about head/eyes - hope you got to an opticians today.
Kayz - sorry about poor night's sleep. Is rotten, but I totally agree with you that lack of sleep with a newborn (from memory) is not as bad as the poor sleep you get when pregnant.
Diege - HG sounds horrid, hope no repeats of sickness through nose.
Can't remember who said about being 14 weeks and still feeling sick. It was only at 16-17 weeks that I really started feeling better and then it improved pretty quickly. Was still sick once in week 18, but now at 21 weeks, I'm full of energy.
Ah well, work calls - should know better than to try and post while at work.
Nat - well done you for getting a nap!
Glask/Tink - v. envious and admirable of you with your xmas shopping/wrapping!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 12/11/2008 17:38

i am going to get rest of xmas pressies tom then everyone is sorted

Hiya Star You sound well, if busy!

Have rang them, they want me back in, here we go again hey?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 17:39

Sorry x posts Tink!

Feel I am starting to lag at the xmas organising, and I started so well!

Playingthe9monthwait · 12/11/2008 17:49

Well I am off for the day.

Nat - glad you rang. Better to go in and be mointored and find nothing is up, than not saying anything and something going wrong. Take care, xx

Well have a good evening everyone

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 17:59

G'night Playing xxx

lardybump · 12/11/2008 18:00

Evening ladies.

I need some advise. I am really getting worried about the birth because of my size. I am huge and a lot bigger than I was last time. I know I have been going on about it for a while but I really am worried. With dd she was early and 8lb 4 so chances are this one is going to even bigger.

I had to have help getting dd out and the labour was horrific (although the care I received was second to none.) So to put my mind at rest and to convince my MW to induce me on my due date ( and not let me go overdue) I was thinking of paying for a private scan to check the size and weight of the baby. When do you think would be a good time to do this??? Do you think the MW would take this into consideration?? and will we be able to keep the sex a surprise at a later scan?

sorry this is a me me me post!!!

lardybump · 12/11/2008 18:02

Oh no X post so sorry Nat are you going in straight away?? Cant believe you are having such a crap time!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 18:09

AFAIK the NHS won't recognise any findings from a private case. I might be very wrong on that but something is telling me they will ignore it.

Is it worth asking for a growth scan on the NHS?

I'm OK thanks, DH is on his way home, hopefully about an hour away now so as soon as he gets in we'll be off. It's like I said, I'm not too worried at the moment, I know his heart is beating which is obviously a good sign, I'm more worried about what is causing him to be so still for so long.

lardybump · 12/11/2008 18:22

Oh Nat I hope it is just him feeling sleepy...

They wont send me for a growth scan as I am only measuring one cm bigger than I should and they only send you for a growth scan if you measure 3 or more cm's bigger!!! But we all know that this measure is a load of rubbish anyway....

Bugger I really thought I had the solution... I am going to get some of that Caullophylum and take it on week 37 for sure....

Going to start the RLT and other bits at 34 weeks can I take them all??? It wont hurt baby if i take them all will it? That will be RLT, CLary, sage and Lavender and EPO at 34 weeks and at 37 weeks Caullophylum....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/11/2008 18:27

Nat- sorry you have to go in again... email me your number if you want to [email protected] and i can keep ses & Kayz informed like the other night.... we do worry about you!!

LB- I wouldn't know tbh... though dont always assume 2nd babies are heavier... my ds was 8lb8oz and dd was only 7lb...
