Excellent news on the visa 2BG - what a relief!
Hope your sickness is justa 'blip'. Are you feeling that second trimester bloom yet? .
On finding out gender, we thought as you did that we'd keep no.3 as a surprise as it was to be our last (had found out with dd1 from amnio - I'll tell you about that NHS cock up one day...)and with dd2. Was convinced dd3 was a ds for various silly reasons, and dh was genuinely shocked when she was born. This time round we keeping it a surprise again. Personally I'd like to find out as it makes things easier shopping wise, but I'm not that bothered. Dh is though, so I'm happy to wait too.
Just had call from midwife and she's coming round to book me in tomorrow. She asked if I wanted midwifery-led care as that had been the plan with last mc pregnancy, but I have my worry-head on and have requested consultant-led care. During last pregnancy I was monitored with extra scans on my cervix as I've had a LLETZ for pre-cancerous cervical cells. All was fine, but I'm worried that d&c for mc may have added to 'weakness'??? Will have a chat with concultant, and if I am being mad will resort back to midwife care.
Hello TINKS! Can't wait to start my shopping - I think I will take over from you 'pre-baby' as killer shoppper, though you have all the post-birth stuff to get too...Just bought dd3 a dress and tights from Catamini (fave brand)as I had a 20% off offer. I am so weak...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/11/2008 12:46

Afternoon ladies.

Firstly Nat- dont worry abotu the text, maybe you did have the wrong Number but LaTour kept me informed so i could keep Kayz and Ses informed by text once i'd logged off!! Seemed to work!! I'm glad you got home last night, I know what its liek to go in without an overnight bag and end up staying so can truely reason with you on wanting to go home after given the all clear!!

I'm feeling a little queasy today... dont know why, but didn't manage to eat much of my lunch as kept feeling sick!! going to try eating a yoghurt and an orange once i've typed this i think.

DH and i are going to the pictures this evening to watch Quantum of solace- really looking forward to it!!

Right sorry I haven't caught up properly, but wanted to pop my head in to let you all know i'm alive!!

(oh and i've read my posts from last ngith and i really think i sounded p:*&"£d!! just shows what too much coke and sweets can do to a woman!!)

GYo · 11/11/2008 12:47

Hi Everyone

Tink- great shopping

Diege- great news about MW appointment. Also go with what you feel comfortable re care, then you have more chance of being relaxed.

Thanks to everyone who asked about scan- thrilled as all was ok and normal - we didn?t find out the sex. Even if we?d wanted to we couldn?t the baby was lying in a really odd position so a big surprise for us! - Like at my 12wks scan we were sent off for a coffee so she could finish doing spinal measurements. Oh, it weighs approx 1lb 1oz at the moment

Cosmo- here is a short blow by blow for you ? though not that much to say?

We got there (went in on time!) and she just got straight on with it. Did head, and brain, heart, abdomen, legs, face (check for clefts) and she talked us through it as she went saying it was normal-which was great as sometimes they don?t say anything and you are forced to ask.

There was a lot of pushing and prodding so I was really glad I went for a wee before going in or it might have been embarrassing

We paid for pics and got 5 good ones. Other than that not much else to report? DH will scan them in later on

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/11/2008 12:59

GYo- so glad all is ok for you!! can't wait to see scan pics of mini-GYo later!! Do you think if they were able to see the sex you'd have found out?? Weight sounds good too!! I dont think we were told at our 20 wks scans... though when we went for a 36wk scan with DS (my back waters broke at 33 wks and they didn't believe me- thought i'd wet myself- until the midwife said i didn't have much waters at 35wks and sent me for a scan!! duh!!) they said he was very small think they said just under 3lb or something, but 3 weeks later came out a very good 8lb8oz!!

sorkycake · 11/11/2008 13:10

Bloody hell!

I'm away from the wagon for a week and all hell breaks loose.

NJ I hope everything is okay and you're feeling settled, how scary!

Glad scans went okay

Tink you are far too organised for everyone else's good. I'm shamefully under-prepared and was asking Dh last night if he thought maybe we should be getting ready for the baby (I'm 27 weeks).
He said "nah! got ages yet, maybe wait until January and worry about it then" .
A slightly laissez-faire attitude I think you'll all agree.

Heebeejeebee · 11/11/2008 13:11

GYo - also glad things went well!!! Can't wait to see your pics!

Glask - enjoy Quantum of Solace! Ses - its a good idea to watch Casino Royale first - you don't need to have seen it, but it helps (iyswim!)

2bg - 13 weeks! Hope the sickness stops and the blooming starts v soon! Great news about your visa too!!!

Diege - good news about the midwife/consultant care! Am v she came to you - my appointment is "in the ante-natal waiting area"....

Tink - as ever, I can only sit back and be impressed with your shopping capabilities!!

GYo · 11/11/2008 13:13

We said to the woman after, could you have seen the sex- she said she could have tried to look, so possible we'd have been able to at a push but definately wasnt obvious

Realised I can go and buy stuff and name books now! - i had this weird idea in my head about waiting for after this scan!

OMG Im having a baby!

kayzisexpecting · 11/11/2008 13:22

Afternoon!

GYo, glad everything went well. Sorry about not finding out the sex. Go and shop!!!!!

2BG, glad the visas are sorted out. 13 weeks! I can't even remember being 13 weeks. I feel like I've been 35 weeks for ages!

Tink, please come round and organise me!!! I am not organised. I still haven't packed my bag yet. Going to try and do it tonight.

I went shopping and bought to much and tried to carry too much. Got a nursing bra, the lady did say it was a bit early but as its almost xmas, she said I might as well get it now and saves me rushing around.

Anyway to the Bra!! Its a 38F and it is the perfect fit. But my maternity ones from Mothercare are a 40DD and its too tight. Mothercare's sizes must be well out!!!

Got some baby size nappies. OMG they are tiny compared to DS's. So I'm getting organised.

God what a ramble, sorry!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/11/2008 13:22

haha GYo- you ARE having a baby!!!

I always waited till 12 weeks for the all-clear scan, baby is there, not imagining it etc!!

I'm almost sorted now and i'm 17+4 today!!

Just waiting till i know the sex before i get bedding, outifts and muslins etc...then other than a buggy board i think i'm sorted!!

I was gonna go but i've been looking at my facebook...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/11/2008 13:25

oh, oh, oh Kayz- Dh had downloaded the enrique album!! I just wasn't searching the right place!! Been listening to it while sat here now!! I'm very happy!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/11/2008 13:27

right.... i am off now, we're going into town to see if we can get some trainers for DH... He's being very fussy, and wont spend as much as i would, so having a hard time finding some we both like (as i like to 'approve' his clothes are nice!!- how sad!!) at a price Dh is willing to pay!!

kayzisexpecting · 11/11/2008 14:02

Ooooooh!!!

I have a nice bus story, after my awful one a couple of weeks ago.

There was another lady with a pushchair on the bus home and she looked after DS and his pushchair for me so I could sit down. She was lovely and so helpful!!

Diege · 11/11/2008 14:31

Great news about the scan GYO!!!! Wonderful news, and yes get shopping
Great on getting well-fitting bra too KAY - I've heard that Mothercaree are a bit hit and miss when it comes to their sizing.Agree, teeny nappies rerally make it feel real!!
HEEBS - I think my midwife was a bit reluctant to come to my house, but it was amazing how her attitude changed when I mentioned about the vomiting (ok, I laid it on a bit heavy...) Downside is I have to get lounge into some sort of order now...
Good to hear from you sorky!
Enjoy your trainer shopping GLASK! Rather you than me dh and shoes!

wilsonmummy · 11/11/2008 15:15

Gyo.. shame about crossed legged baby, but really glad that scan went well.

Kay.. see there are some really nice people out there, only thing i don't like is when people can assume they can stroke your belly!! I had a total stranger come up to me and pat my tummy when pregnant with dd1 and ask me if it was full of bacon butties!!

Glask.. have fun shopping! You put us to shame!!

Deige & 2bgs, yes my dd's do get on really well, dd1 mothers dd2, and dd2 adores dd1 she follows her everywhere!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/11/2008 15:25

GYo so glad it went so well, and yes, you are going to have a baby! Looking forward to the pictures

Diege, good news about the MW coming to you

Wilson your girls are beautiful You must be very proud I think the oddest person to touch my bump (and it was this time) was the dad of one of DS1's friends, I know him to say hello to, that's about all, felt much more wierd than when strangers do it for some reason. I suppose we just don't expect men to do that sort of thing?

Sorry have forgotten everything else, head is so not with it today, feel like I am borrowing someone else's, and it's not quite the right fit... god I talk some bollox!

GYo · 11/11/2008 16:39

Added a pic- the best of the lot I think.

Great news Diege that MW is coming to your place.

Wilson- just looked at your pics- gorgeous girls!

wilsonmummy · 11/11/2008 17:07

Gyo.. that picture is fab, very clear!! I WANT MY SCAN!!![SMILE]

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 11/11/2008 18:05

Thanks for the blow by blow GYo! Glad all went well Very restrained in not asking the sex. I am soo keen (but scared) to know. I think it is a girl and if it isn't I will be a bit surprised.....I too am waiting until 20 weeks to start buying - just want to make sure all is well.

Off to check out your piccies now.

kayzisexpecting · 11/11/2008 18:11

Oooooh GYo!!! That is so clear. What a lovely picture!!

Wilson, Your girls are so gorgeous. I hope my DS's will get on that well.

Hardly anyone has touched my bump this time round. Which is good as I really hate it. I also hate all the "My god you are huge" then 2 seconds later "I didn;t know you were pg, your very small" It drives me mad!!!!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 11/11/2008 19:05

lardybump · 11/11/2008 19:26

I know I have missed you all again. I hope you are all well. Lovely pics GYO. Who knows when I get my own computer then maybe I will be able to scan in some photos for you all to see........

Kay I am huge, and I mean huge. I bet I beat you all hands down. We found some photos of me last time around at the 25 week mark and I am twice the size this time..... REally starting to panic about the birth and the size of the baby.

I might start with the raspberry leaf tea now just to make sure it comes out on time!!! Any other ideas will be much appreciated. And if anyone says stop eating I will scream because I cant!!!!!!!!!! Boo Hoo...........

GruffaloSoldier · 11/11/2008 20:16

Hello all,

Wow Gyo - amazing pic! I showed DH and he was amazed too - we cant believe it will be our turn in exactly 3 weeks! Yes, I have to say I was a bit disappointed that you didnt find out gender but that is only because I am sooooo desperate to know myself!

Ok im actually going to dash off again but i will be back in a min - just going to co op to get custard

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 11/11/2008 20:36

Hi!

GYo - your piccie is gorgeous! Congratulations!

NJ - glad things settled down and hope you're doing ok.

Diege - yay for midwife and booking in

Sorry I've not really been on today - still keep getting really tired. Am in bed now and know I will sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Hello to everyone else!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 07:39

Morning (I am on a no moaning mission because gawd knows I've done enough of it these last few weeks, how long before I break d'ya reckon?!!)

GYo, fab pics

Kay, I hate the big/small comments as well, last time with DS2 I got so fed up of the 'Oh you're HUGE' in other words, 'Oh you're so gonna have trouble shifting that weight!' this time everyone is like 'Oh you're no where near as big this time, is everything OK?' in other words, 'I'm a nosy bitch' Except for one woman, who because I stopped going to her mums and tots group (after she told the whole school and anyone else who would listen, about my MC) decided to shout out across the playground, 'OMG Nat you're enormous' think that was definatly meant as an insult because I am far from it, and am not sure if my comment back was really good quick thinking or petty but it went something like 'I'll be catching up to you soon' Cowbag Not that I am moaning, ohhhhh no no no no noooo LOL

LB, I am wondering about getting started on the RLT(ablets though for me!) and the clary sage and lavender etc. half of me is dreading it because they will all step the contractions up, but then the other half thinks if I start at 36 weeks, and they do agree to induce me at 38, they won't have had long to get going, think I might start around 34 weeks, sort of happy medium. Am also going to give the other other stuff a go this time, can't remember what it is called (can find out though if anyone is interested?), but it seems to make a lot of people go into labour within 24 hours of taking it (so obviously wouldn't take it before 38 weeks)

Have waffled (not really moaned though - not bad for me!) for too long again, I must go and get in the shower! xxx
