Hello,

We've nearly finished the front room painting!!! I love it, it looks so good. I bet MIL will moan tomorrow, she's not happy if she isn't moaning. Just the carpet to get fitted tomorrow and then I can start the hunt for a new sofa!!!

Baby has been overly active today. I swear he is doing aerobics!!

Hope everyone has had nice days, despite the ruddy weather.

Diege, I really want to have him by the 8th as my Dad is coming up for a few days. So I keep my fingers crossed that your morning sickness subsides by the 8th.

GYo · 10/11/2008 08:04

Morning All

Still quiet

Hope everyone is well this morning. Well done on the painting Kay!

Back in the office today but scan tomorrow! Hurray

Diege · 10/11/2008 08:45

Morning! 8th sounds good to me KAY! Morning GYO - wow hasn't the scan come round quickly again! That reminds me, must reschedule my 12 week as it clashes with dd3's nativity.
Have been a lot worse sickness wise over the weekend, but then I'm 8 weeks today so it's generally 8-10 weeks where it peaks for me then gradually tails off. If I can just get through these next few weeks then I can start to enjoy the pregnancy!
Hope everyone is OK - have been worrying a bit about NAT - give us a shout if you are lurking!!!

GYo · 10/11/2008 08:50

Morning Diege. Phew another wagon-er. Was beginning to worry you'd all sailed off into the sunset on the wagon without me

Yay and for the sickness. Its annoying but good to have anyway. Have you been working since you've been sick?

What part does your DD have in the nativity?

Diege · 10/11/2008 09:06

Hi GYO! I know it has been quiet over the weekend hasn't it? Re: work I have been working from home - v.sympathetic boss who suggested I just do what I feel best - signed off completely if need be. So reverse pyschology lends itslef to me suggesting writing lectures from home and putting on-line for students. Had forgotten how hard it was to even get head off pillow when v.sick!
Not sure of dd3's part yet - just the date. No doubt the usual angel or snowman again .
What time is your scan tomorrow?

GYo · 10/11/2008 09:21

What a fab boss- interesting re the reverse psychology!

I think if my boss was completely relaxed about what I did I'd be coping much better with things in a bid to do my best rather than feel Im being forced which makes me miserable!

Love nativities! hope you feel well enough to go!

Scan is at 11am so at least I dont have to wait all day. Then off to see the MW at 4pm so a big antenatal day for me.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 10/11/2008 09:38

Morning!

I've not vanished either, just been exhausted!

Interesting how bosses differ! Mine wants to do my maternity risk assessment this afternoon and has already joked that he thinks he's going to have problems with me as he's worried I won't take it seriously and be sensible!

Diege - thank goodness your boss is understanding so hope you can get through the next couple of weeks. Are you going to go back for more acupuncture at all?

GYo - so is that 25hrs 23 mins til scan???!

Diege · 10/11/2008 09:38

I love days like that GYO - makes the pregnancy feel nice and special. I'm still waiting for midwife to contact me re: booking in, but as dating scan already booked there's nothing I really 'need' from her at the moment!
Agree, boss has been great. His wife had HG twice so he knows it's not just a cop out. As you say, the kinder they are, the more I want to 'please' them like a eager puppy...sad really

Diege · 10/11/2008 09:40

SES hello!!!! Good luck for your risk assessment - don't think I ever had one though know it's the law.
Not sure about acupuncture tbh. Part of me thinks there's no point starting it then giving up, another part thinks ffs I would be a third of the way towards the bugaboo bee by now with the money I've spent and it's not as if I feel any better . Next appointment Thurs eve, so we'll see..

GYo · 10/11/2008 09:47

LOL at the countdown Ses!

So glad you too have a good boss. Goes to show that its all about how you go about dealing with stuff!

Sorry you are so tired- good way to get you to slow down but hard when working.

So much for 2nd trimester perkiness! Im hanging in there for 3rd trimester being the new 2nd trimester

Diege- hope the MW contacts soon though so you can get the bloods done etc.

GYo · 10/11/2008 09:48

ooh Diege- are you having a bee?

I actually saw your comments on an old thread about Bee's when searching last week!

Have you had experience?

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 10/11/2008 09:49

Difficult one, Diege. I guess maybe see what happens Thursday.
Risk assessments are law but having completed them before for others, they are a bit of a formality and a tick box exercise. Probably good if you think you may have problems with your boss as you'll have something in writing. Generally those bosses won't do the risk assessment though I suppose! (Except in your case!)
GYo - have you had a risk assessment?

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 10:05

Morning all!!

Aha there are people lurking, i had nothin to read this weekend!!

Gyo.. good luck with scan, haven't heard anything about mine yet.

Deige..Hope the peaking of sickness passes you by quickly

Ses.. i need to have a maternity risk assessment to and it really is a tick box excercise, just something to put on your staff file to say its been done!!

Still no major symptoms yet, makes me feel like a fake!! just have the odd bout of nausea when need to eat something quick and feeling tired, but am still suffering with dizziness! Just had a nice hot bath and felt like i could have fallen asleep!!

Not taken dd1 to nursery this morning still suffering with chest infection and dd2 has now got the runs as the antibiotics are going straight through her!!

hope everyone is still well!!

Morning Wilson

Ses- yes I had a desk risk assessment (since Im primarily desk based. As I work for huge organisation we have special team of people in HR that come and do them. They are scared a bit of pregnant women here so take lots of precautions centrally but whether the individual line managers carry them out is another matter. !

A very nice lady came to see me and is keeping tabs on me- so very glad its not the boss-

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/11/2008 10:10

Morning

GYo, hooray for scan, not long to wait

Kay, good going with the painting, hope the carpet fitting goes well. Glad you got some reassurance about the show

Wilson, I hope you girls are better?

Thanks to everyone re. the MW's etc. still no better off TBH. Swelling is worse if anything, have done a few of the dip sticks things for the protein, always come up somewhere between nothing and half way between a trace and a +1, have decided if I get a full +1 then I will ring, but until then there's nothing to be done.

On a brighter note, we went to pick the buggy and stuff up on Saturday I am v. impressed! The buggy comes all fully made up, all we had to do was put the front two wheels on, and yet still the box it is in was smaller than the box the car seat is in! Only thing is, they didn't have a changing bag that I was happy with (bit picky when it comes to bags!) so I am now having to look for a different one. Really don't want to give in and just get the bugaboo bag, I want one that will be good as my hand bag at the same time as being a changing bag, and the bugaboo bags just don't do it for me.

Spent yesterday being v. lazy, we didn't do a thing! Well, DH did, he cooked a lovely roast dinner, but other than that we didn't do anything, not sure whether it was really nice not doing anything, or if it was really boring

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/11/2008 10:14

Sorry x posted with a few there (started writing it when I got back from school, but then have been on phone!)

Wilson, sorry the girls aren't much better Fingers crossed they will both turn the corner soon enough.

It is interesting you all talking about your bosses, I've never been pregnant and working, it is all really above my head. Can imagine though that if a boss isn't playing ball, it can make it very difficult.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/11/2008 10:17

Ooooooh, and something we did do yesterday was spent an unhealthy amount of time talking about names, still come up with absolutely nothing grrrrrrr.

This baby will be 56 years old before he get's a name.

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 10:30

How lazy am i , i've only just got dressed!!
Ha who cares, i never have days like this, i'm usually running round like a headless chicken (envisage a chicken running in circles squarking and flapping its wings, thats me!!)

Nat.. names are the bain of my life with all pregnancies, my dh never adds to the list just tells me what he does and doesn't like!!

Cole is a def for a boy and Ava is a contender for a girl!! But can't think of any middle names for either!

OP posts:
GYo · 10/11/2008 10:37

ooh Wilson, Ava is beautiful.

Love Cole too- not heard of it before but its a great name!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 10/11/2008 10:39

Morning all, had a busy weekend shopping... spent an unhealthy amount overall, but got most our xmas presents now... and got baby this bouncy chair yesterday... aswell as a couple of toys.

Got both DC's a stunning pair of echo red trainers each for xmas too, aswell as another toy for xmas each- and i really have no-where to hide it yet!!

was ill last night, but i've got a bad migrane and i think that made me sick, as i was sick all my lunch at 9pm, and i'd eaten at 2pm... very odd!! Then this morning i was sick even after taking my anti-sickness!!

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 10:41

Gyo.. my friends were taking the mick out of me that other day because all my childrens names if this one is to be a girl will end in "a" sound!! and plus my name is the same!!

Not been done intentially just like the names i chose!!

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/11/2008 10:42

Wilson, DH just tells me what he doesn't like! I wouldn't mind if I was coming up with odd names, but they are all fairly normal. Ava is beautiful

Glask, good going on the shopping It's good to edge closer and closer to finishing

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 10:43

Glask.. love the bouncy chair its cute!!
I your organised xmas state!!

OP posts:
GYo · 10/11/2008 10:48

Glask- lovely bouncy chair

Hope sickness isnt THE bug. DH simiarly brough up the previous nights dinner at 10.30am the next day. Its like the stomach clamps shut or something (Sorry for those eating- made myself feel sick now!)

Wilson- funny about the names but got to go with what you like! Im not sharing mine with anyone for fear of opinions! not that they are very alternative at all!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 10/11/2008 10:48
