kayzisexpecting · 08/11/2008 09:12

Morning,

Nat, I can't imagine how you feel. Its so stupid really. What is the point of telling you to go back in if you have high blood pressure when they tell you that the home monitors are useless. I am really on your behalf. I'd be banging the door down demanding to see the person in charge.

I'm feeling better this morning. Except TMI when I went to the toilet this morning there was a tiny amount of blood. It wasn't really red, it was more pinky orange colour. Don't know if it is a show as I know you can get it a few weeks before birth.

Do you think I should pack my bag???

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/11/2008 09:13

x posts!

Don't feel silly Ses, I think we've all done it!

Morning Tink

I am going to and get in the shower (must wash my hair, it is favoring a bit of an itchy greasy bird's nest after yesterday's laziness!)

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 08/11/2008 09:13

oops!

Will try again later...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/11/2008 09:16

And x post again. No point banging anyones door down, there is nothing they will do if BP is the same. Anyway, am ignoring it, no more ranting!

About the blood, was it jellified? (nice!!) if it was kind of thickish then I'd say it was a show (I seem to be an expert these days!) if it was watery, see your MW, probably nothing, but watery blood could be a sign of incompetant cervix or that the placenta is coming away. (Don't mean to worry you, probably none of these things if it was only a little bit, but better to be safe than sorry!)

kayzisexpecting · 08/11/2008 09:23

It was a bit like wallpaper paste. Not really jelly but not watery either.

Wont be able to see MW until Thursday.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 08/11/2008 09:25

thank you! By trying again later, i meant immediately! Found it although more muffled and had to keep Doppler really still. Made it 161bpm!

NJ - enjoy your shower

Kay - sorry not sure but NJ sounds like she's talking sense!

Morning tink (and anyone else I'm cross posting with!)

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 08/11/2008 09:25

ohh kay sounds interesting
i am off to town with dd as dh is working getting his families xmas pressies

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 08/11/2008 09:27

ses ye for hb

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/11/2008 09:29

Yep, wall paper paste sounds like a partial show. Keep an eye on it. If nothing more or just more thickish stuff then it'll be fine, if it gets watery see someone about it (ring labour ward if needs be)

LOL Ses Glad you found it

Have fun in town Tink

Right even if I am x posting with anyone, I am off for my shower now, I'm not even going to look if there are more posts! xxx

GYo · 08/11/2008 12:25

Morning all (kinda, its a bit late)

Nat- feel for you about midwives. Its hard to know what to do. I'd stuff feeling a pain and just ring them if you are worried. Not worth the risk really... wish we could take the Wagon helicopter and whisk you to 36wks.

Kay- sorry you were feeling so sick, sounds like what I had. Hope you are feeling better now. Exciting if that is show... reckon its definately worth packing a bag..

Ses- glad you found a HB. I too found mine very low down at the start and even then I think I was 18wks I think. Also if you placenta is in the way it will be muffled.

Tink - yay at getting bag stuff ready. Would you recommend disposable briefs? I've heard mixed things about their comfort and ability to hold pad in place...

Diege- if you are about, how did the bday go/ telling your mum?

Thanks for asking Nat- after drama yesterday and my doctor creating panic by suggesting it was placental abbruption (!) the pain has subsided today, although Im still walking funny. No idea what it was but taking it easy now- think I've got to stop rushing about and take being preg seriously...

Having said that I was going mad being inside so we went out to town this morning to look at xmas decs and pressies. Only stayed an hour but was nice to get out of the house. Will do some more online shopping this afternoon.

Wow mega post.

Diege · 08/11/2008 13:32

Hello! Sorry for absence, but have had head down toilet for most of yesterday eve and today . Am trying meal three now - it's amazing how last week's 'miracle' meal is brought up a few days later pretty muych fit to go back in can . Sorry if you're having lunch...
Had acupuncture again this morning, and felt better when I woke so told him I was feeling OK. Cue violent vomiting straight after appointment . So it's doing something just not the right thing!
Well dd3 had a lovely birthday yesterday; she loved all the attention and playing with her fifi flowertot cottage. Told mum about pregnancy and to say she was underwhelmed would be an understatement . In a nutshell she sort of implied I shouldn't have said anything as it was very early days and (the old favourite) I wouldn't even have known in the past as drs waited for 2 missed periods before suspecting pregnancy. Sort of took the wind out of my sails after Thursday's scan! Family eh...
GYO - hope you are feeling OK today - good to get out of the house, and on-line shopping is the best sort (apart from having to wait for your stash). On subject of maternity pants, I've used disposable ones and they've been OK. Ordered from Blooming Marvellous from memory, but they're much of a muchness. Always mahoosive - in fact 'small' was 10-12 and a generous one at that. Do fall down a little, so may be worth getting massive cotton ones?
NAT: you sound in a bad way . I think if you had suportive care givers if would improve things - is there anyway you could speak to the midwifery supervisor (every unit has one) to at least raise you concerns? You have a legal right to be listened to in light of the Maternity Matters report and they have to follow up and get back to you. Remind me what would be your new 'due date' if you were induced?
OOh Kay I had waterpaper paste with dd3 and I had her the following morning . Certainly a sign of things sofetning up. How exciting .
TINKS - you are sooo organised!! We actually do have advent calenders already as were bought them by one of dh's 'strange' friends in October ; pleased now of course!
SES excellent news in HB - I predict a girl (all dds were in the 160s).
HEEBS - great scan news - how many weeks are you now - 12 ish?
Am tucking into very dried out oven chips now - hope they stay down!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 08/11/2008 14:57

hi gyo and diege

i got on really well with disposable briefs used them with a maternity thick pad in
good luck with online shop

diege - sorry for sickness
glad dds bday went well, my dd has cottage it is lovely she got it for her 3rd bday
shame your mum wasnt more upbeat

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 08/11/2008 17:10

I am too tired!
Been on sofa for last hour and a half but still feel exhausted!
Have friends coming round for dinner at 7pm. Fortunately DH is cooking stew (his speciality) but I'm doing chouce of apple pie or bread&butter pudding and not started yet!

Diege - hope the accupuncture starts to make a positive difference soon.

Was out at shops earlier and felt bit unsteady so boughtvmyself a mars bar. Not had one for years and I loved it. Bought 4 more for "emergencies"!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 08/11/2008 18:03

have a great meal with friends and hope u feel less tired meal sounds yum
i am really into mars bars @ the mo have one every day

Diege · 08/11/2008 18:10

Agree TINK the cottage is great, and perfect for age 3. She also got the fifi tea-set with talking teapot which was a big hit. Now onto dd2's birthday on the 15th NOV!
Mmm mars bars - now I couldn't eat a whole one but fancy the toffee bit - is that strange? At the moment I am able to keep down crackerwheat with that ready sliced edam cheese wedged between the two. Think the protein is helping.
I'd go for apple pie SES; and don't worry you have loads of time
Off now I think as have to get dd3 to bed and wait in for dh and dds who have gone to fireworks display. Hope they don't interrupt x-factor too much
Hope you're OK NAT? Think you have been giving very good advice on thread in pregnancy. So give them a ring!!!!

wilsonmummy · 08/11/2008 19:34

morning

we are off to my parents for my dads bday @ 9:30am

kayzisexpecting · 09/11/2008 10:05

Morning!

Nothing else so I'm guessing it was just a little show. I rang the labour ward who said it was just a partial show and nothing might happen for weeks yet.

DH is trying to teach DS to play the ukulele(sp). Its quite funny really.

Nat, I hope you are ok this morning and that the swelling has gone down.

Wilson, the way you describe your breasticles(love that word) is exactly how I feel too. They are so heavy and painful.

I hope everyone is ok and not being to sick.

Diege · 09/11/2008 10:58

Morning! That must be a relief for you KAY - I am taking your due date as the date my sickness will stop at (I'll be about 12 weeks) so don't you smeak in ealry while I'm still throwing .
Have a great day TINKS - happy birthday to your dad
Have to try and write a lecture today - already a week behind so can't afford to slack..

lardybump · 09/11/2008 12:58

So sorry I have not been able to keep up this week, and as of next saturday I may not be around for a while as I need to sort out a phone line, broadband and a bloody computer as all the bits I have now will be going back to work... boo hoo.....

Anyhoo enough of that.

Congrats 2BG and Diege I am so so happy for your scan results... what a relief.

Kay how exciting things are really happening now for you and i am getting excited.

Nat i am so sorry you are being treated so badly I really feel like coming up there and giving your MW and GP a bit of a lardy lashing...... not that that would help but I am so for you.. I really hope that things are a bit better now and even if there is a slim chance that you are getting more symptoms call Labour Ward because it is not worth the risk not to... sending lots of love and anti swelling messages to you.
