LOl NAT - you and michelin man finally reunited again after all these years . Seriously though, I would ring ward as the imprint thing is something to look out for.
Oh and you're right about internal scan. It's a tummy one I'd get (I think ) but am thinking because of my inability to keep water down for longer than 15 mins I may have to resort to condom-coated joy of probe...(I think my body would split in two with shock of it after recent dry spell .
TINK - I also love turtle one - v.sweet. I can't wait until I am at the buying stage (touch wood!).

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 09:43

Well I'd kick him in the balls, if he wasn't me.... I need to lay the missed play opportunity to rest don't I? LOL

TBH, I found the internal much better than the tummy one, I really find the idea of a scan freaky, I can't get round the fact that the thing can see into my body but because the internal was inside I could get my head round it more...

Kicking myself in my non-existant balls and taling of things seeing into my body, think I need a lie down

Have rang the ward, she said to book a GP appointment today for him to check wee and BP, only appointment the GP had left was 8.20 tonight (didn't even know they were open that late).

DS1 has a friend coming tonight, so probably a good job it's so late.

Diege · 05/11/2008 09:53

LOL at kicking him in the balls .
Can't believe appointment is so late!!! They keep those late ones well hidden don't they

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 09:59

Disclaimer: I have never kicked anyone in the balls, not even DH when he starts poking me in the back, NOT with his fingers, 5 minutes after I have finally dozed off! (Though he has probably only got away with it because to kick him in the balls I'd have to actually get out of bed, and it would not be worth it, not sure I could even get my leg high enough...)

I am rambling now aren't I?

Diege · 05/11/2008 10:24

Yes

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 10:43

Oh Nat- you defo are rambling!!

I've just been looking on Toys R Us site for xmas presents for DD.... going to get her the disney princess throne, a microphone on a stand (as she wants one and loves singing!!) and some kitchen/home type role play stuff i think. Maybe another baby doll as she just loves playing with babies... Then she'll be finished for xmas then... and hoping to get a last couple of toys for Ds too, maybe another one for his Bday, and a couple more for xmas and he'll be finished too.

Xmas presents for family i'm going to make gingerbread biscuit decorations for on everyones tree's and make peppermint creams. kids will then decorate some little boxes so we can fill them with the peppermint creams.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 10:46

you're not all supposed to agree with me!

Xmas pressies sound good Glask

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 10:51

haha!! i ramble too much for my own good!! wish someone would agree with me once in a while- i might stop talking myself to sleep!!

getting exited to go and get xmas pressies tomorrow... we're going while DS is at nursery so we'll only have to distract DD from hats in the trolley!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 11:10

Rambling is good, it's healthy, besides, I think the typing is helping my poor swollen fingers.

...That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!!

Christmas shopping is always exciting, DS1 has finally been talked out of changed his mind on the guinea pigs, so now he wants one of these to go in the play room. I'm not paying that much for it though, they are on eBay for around £200, still more than I'd like to spend (especially because I have already got the rest of his pressies, which if I'd have known his main pressie was going to be as expensive as that I'd have cut down on), I do know he'll love it though.... it is getting so hard to find him things he'll actually like and use now he is older and already has most things. He wants a laptop, but he has a perfectly working desk top, which he does spend a lot of time on, there is no way I'm going to pay £400+ on something he already has in a different form, just because it's xmas.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 11:11

...and if that wasn't rambling, then I don't know what is!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 05/11/2008 11:26

pophas2boybeans · 05/11/2008 11:42

of course sorky. Because when my daughter was born, she got stuck and the idiot getting her out fractured her skull with the forceps leaving her with two bleeds on the brain. It was only once she reached 3 months old that we were told that she was ok with no brian damage. I'm sure that won't happen again but the consultant said that there is no point in my spending the pregnancy worrying about another nasty delivery if they can happily c-section me. Chances are if one of the twin is breech anyway, then they would have opted to give me a c-section anyway. I'm not sure why they want them out 4 weeks early but I'm massive and uncomfortable so I won;t complain.

NJ - my sister is doing well thanks. She had her last scan at 20 weeks and the twins were happy. SHe has been told she's having one of each. My mum is still wondering how she's going to cope with 2 daughters having twins within a week of each other

Heebeejeebee · 05/11/2008 12:19

Hi all - quick update!

The EP midwife just called. My blood test results show a level of HCG for a late 6 week pregnancy, which is exactly what she saw on the scan (and which fits in with my late ov) so she said there's no need for another the blood test. She said the levels were a good high level, but not so high she would have expected to see more

Feel mightily relieved - I know its still early days yet, but at least I can relax now until next Friday

You guys are so impressive with your christmas shopping already! I have the adults sorted, just the children to go for now!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 12:50

ooh Nat- that games thing looks ace!! but agree- £600 is a very lot to spend!! Even £200 for one item for xmas seems a lot still, but if he'll play with it loads it'll be worth it!!

We've got the kids a v-tech smile console between them for xmas, aswell as a playhouse for the garden, a big climbing frame with swings and a slide etc, and a see-saw... then they both have tons of clothes ready for next summer for xmas, and a good 10-15 toys etc each... think they'll have more than enough with just that.... and they are still going to get presents off DH's mum & step-dad, his dad will probs buy something cheap and crappy as usual so it'll break shortly after so dont often count that in my space working!! then my parents will have bought tons of stuff for them both, and both my sisters will probs get em a fair amount each too...

I hate xmas... i spend months clearing out their toys and getting rid of bits and bobs before they get their new ones at xmas, only to still end up with too many to fit in my house at xmas!!!

I've asked my mum to put half the money she'd spend in their trust funds for them instead of buying tons of toys but she's ignored it the second year running... then i ask for lots of clothing instead of loads of toys and she ignores that too... so we end up with her spending a few hundred ££'s on toys!!! Also she'll ask if there's anything they want as a 'main present' which should gobble most of their toy money and every year i tell her a few things, and we've never got a single one..... in fact just to vent my frustration i might just start an AIBU thread and see if i'm just fussy!!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 12:51

sorry HBJb- good news about the HCG levels then!! bet you're grinning from ear to ear now!!

2beautifulgalsandabean · 05/11/2008 12:59

Hi all,

Heebee, good news for you, hopefully you can relax a little now.

NJ- sorry that you are looking/feeling like the mitchelin man Hopefully it is just general pregnancy swelling, but good to get checked incase.
Ramble away, its good to get it out

Diege- hope the appointment foes well and eases the sickness for you. Not long until your scan now. What time is it tomorrow?

Glask you sound very well organised for xmas.Didn't you get some outdoor things earlier in the year?

Tink- more shopping All sounds good. I love lindt chocolate. Been looking around at the Advent calenders but haven't purchased any yet, wish they did a ferrero roche one.

Pop- good to see you back, congratulations on the 2 boys, love the names. Hopefully you will have some good news at the next scan and travelling won't be as far. I was watching a programme on sky on too long ago about couples in the US who were expecting twins who had TTTS.

Hope everyone else is well

I'm good, looking forward to the scan only 45 hours
i keep thinking i have the majority of my xmas shopping done then seem to buy more Wardrobe and draws underbed overflowing, really need to get it all out and see what i have got. DH's bday 10 days before xmas, so have that to do and his xmas presents. What do you all get your partners/DH's for xmas. Mine is soooo fussy with very expensive taste i have real trouble. Trying to plan for Paris but still unsure if we will beable to go????

wilsonmummy · 05/11/2008 13:15

Afternoon everyone!!

Nat... sorry about swelling hope your not feeling uncomfy with it!!

Kay.. thats something my dh would've said if i'd have fallen!!

M/w came this morning was with me for about hour and half, we had a bit of a catch up as she helped me with both dd's, she's referred me to jessops at sheff i live in Rotherham but just prefer to be with them.
Got very low blood pressure which expains dizziness and light headedness its 80/50 so been told to not move to suddenly(as if with 2 dc under 3)and to drink plenty of fluids!

Everyone seems to be well up with xmas shopping, i've started but got tons to buy i worked out yesterday i got 36 people to buy for!! we have loads of children in our family!!!

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 13:22

2BGAAB- yes, i bought the climbing frame thingy, playhouse and see-saw late august/early sept time....

We've worked out that we only have one more payday before xmas that can really be used for xmas presents for family... and that payday also has to pay for car tax, our real xmas tree (which was £50 last year) and also our day at the BBC good food show... the next payday is the 19th of dec i think, which is a bit too late for my liking, i need to be sorted a few weeks before xmas or i start stressing out!!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 05/11/2008 13:24

hi 2bgs - not long till scan exciting!!
my dh loves lindt going to suprise him with it on dec 1st

sorkycake · 05/11/2008 13:25

Holey Moley Pop, you're both having twins?

Heck after a first birth experience like that I'm not surprised you wouldn't mind a section, think I would too!
36 weeks may well be to ensure you don't spontaneously labour. I think twins don't often go much further past 37 weeks, but I could well be wrong.

Nat I think you should ring the m/w about your swelling up, especially with your BP on the rise....you know just to be on the safe side

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 13:55

I'm back for more rambling

Pop, glad your sister is doing so well, your poor mum!! Can just imagine the excitment building up though

Heebee, that is brilliant news I'm over the moon for you

Glask, I don't mind paying more for things that will last, (and with 3 boys for it to go through, it had better bloody last!) I'd much rather spend it on something like that than on piles of tat that's broken or forgotten about by boxing day.

2BG I am the same as you, have been saying for ages that I've finished the xmas shopping for the kids, (except DS1's main pressie) but then I see something else for one of them, and then have to buy something for the other one to match the piles up

Wilson, I had low BP in the early stages, I think most people do TBH. I found keeping sugar levels up really helped (lots of chocolate ) The swelling isn't feeling too bad thanks, my feet are sore, and it feels like I have a second skin covering my body that has a pulse all of it's own, but it doesn't hurt or anything. The most annoying is the swelling in my mouth, I have bitten my tounge about 5 times since last night. And 36 people I'd need a mortgage for that many!

Sorky LOL at holey moley, haven't heard that for years! I have rang them, got a GP appointment tonight to check wee and BP.

Which reminds me, what is the best thing to take a wee sample in? I forgot to pick up a new bottle yesterday, got visions of using a pop bottle, not sure I could fill that!! Can't think of anything that would be water tight, but small.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 05/11/2008 14:07

I used to use a camera film pot when i was pg with DS.... MW said its the most common thing they get it in!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 14:11

Jeez, I haven't even seen a camera film pot for years.

I wonder if when I get there, I ask for a sample pot, then nip to the loo and do it there? Is that a bit urgh, there is one thing testing someone else's wee, but someone else's warm wee might be a step too far? Or is fresher better?!

I am giggling like a 5yo here, have pictures of all sorts flashing through my head.

sorkycake · 05/11/2008 14:15

No it's fresh!

Reminds me of the Adrian Mole diary where his mother takes a "full to the brim pickle jar" to the m/w.

Just do a sample whilst you're there, I normally have to do that tbh, I never remember the little pot.
