Nelix - hope it goes OK. Labour on the hottest day of the year, even more reason to shout.

Good luck Cindy, hope to see you back really soon .

Just had 25 week check with midwife and all OK. Said i was boringly normal - which is a good thing i hope!!!! 15 weeks to go and counting. I do love tanning more with these extra pg hormones, i look like i have been on a 2 week holiday , its great x

Heebychick · 01/06/2009 20:25

Nelix good luck honey and lots of supportive pushes coming your way!! Can't wait to hear all ... very exciting!

spats great news re appointment, good to be normal even it is boring for her!

cindy lots of luck to you too honey, and yes why wait, get those hot evenings even hotter!

All ok here, had a rough day but then being pg in the heat is pretty rubbish eh xx

smileycat · 02/06/2009 09:30

No news from Nelix sounds like good news to me, heres hoping that all went well and she has a beautiful baby girl to cuddle this morning, sending big hugs your way xxx

nelix2000 · 03/06/2009 09:59

Good morning all!!!

Well she is here hoorah!!!!
Went to bed after a day of contractions...all relatively mild on the 1st June....my waters went in bed at 1015pm....went to hospital, as 5cms dilated. Had some gas and air and a great giggle with DP who had a go on the gas too. We have seen one midwife throughout, all by fate really and she was on shift to deliver our baby so happy days!....I went in the birthing pool at 11pm, my second membrane ruptured! Felt like a big pop!

Pain really started then and I got the urge to push....so I did and 3 pushes later her head was out, then one more and out she came!!! It was the perfect water birth I wanted with DS which went all wrong. So so happy it went well. Was as painful as I remember but something kicked in this time. The midwife just let me get on with it and it all felt so natural

So 3.5 hours from start to finish and Phoebe was with us at a staggering 9 pounds!!! she was born at exactly the same time as her brother 0033am and was exactly the same length of 52 cms!!......

Any how, no tearing of old scar, so feeling remarkably mobile. Home after 8 hours in hospital and feeling fab!!!

Will check back later hope all is well!!

WOW Nelix I'm so happy for you & DP that it all went so well & so quickly, fantastic news & great to hear that you didn't tear an old scar (I have one & I'm dreading it most) Phoebe is a beautiful name, well done you

wasabipeanut · 03/06/2009 13:50

Oh what wonderful news! Congratulations to you all [grin

C1NDY · 03/06/2009 14:36

Nelix congratulations to you and your DH and DS!!! wonderful news!!

Heebychick · 03/06/2009 19:48

Hey hey nelix!!! How amazing to hear such a positive story, the birth sounded amazing and i feel really proud of you all (if that doesn't sound silly) AND phoebe is a perfect name (my DD's name!!) so i already love her ... pics please!

It's so good to hear a positive story, did she weigh more than DS? I am carrying a big baby and really want a non-tearing birth - any top tips!?

Lots of love and congratulations to you all!
Stay with us and tell us all (especially the newborn and 2 year old sibling tips for me please?!)

Who's next then?!!

iggypiggy · 04/06/2009 12:12

Just popped back to see if there was news from nelix and there is! Congrats! Love the name and sounds like it all went v. smoothly for you - Yay!

Hope to be back on this thread soon!

WanabeMum · 04/06/2009 12:26

Congratulations nelix!!!!!!!!

What a perfect birth, i hope mine is as smooth as that! Good news on the non-tearing front. And phoebe is a lovely name.

Glad you're feeling well and all are happy and safe.

Take care and keep us all posted xxxxx

nelix2000 · 04/06/2009 12:37

Thankyou for all the well wishes!
She is a hungry little bugger tho lol I am breast feeding constantly.

heeby it is a great name..yes DS was 8.1 pounds lol she was 9!! I got my notes from the midwife today and my second stage only lasted 8 minutes!...I can't beleive it was that fast!!! Tips....I really do not know. Midwife never told me when to push as it seemed I just listened to my body. My scar stretched really well, and I never prepare it with oils or anything. I think it may have just been down to luck more than anything. I did my pelvic floor throughout pregnancy, maybe that helped?

DS is totally in love with her, really gentle, but he did manage to bang her accidentally on the head yesterday.....twice lol she is fine and e was more upset than she was.

How is everyone feeling???who is due next? I am so excited for you all!!!!

What lovely news

Heebychick · 04/06/2009 15:14

... you know ... i think it might be me next?! EEEkkkkk!

nelix my consultant said yesterday if the position is right then there is no reason for any woman to tear or have problems and it should be quick, i guess your little one was just taking her time to get into the exact right position for you! Hungry babies make sleepy babies!! hurrah!

I saw the consultant as i mentioned yesterday, have agreed to stick with the VBAC route, unless position is bad like last time. I know it's gonna be a biggun but hey nothing ventured nothing gained ... i have agreed to a c-section if i go overdue tho as i really don't think being induced is going to help with such a big baby and i'm hoping to stay active (and of course try my self hypnosis now) so we'll see.

It's my DH's 40th this weekend (and my birthday tomorrow!) and we have the big surprise bash for him n Saturday which i've been planning since March and i am sooo excited for him!

spats · 04/06/2009 16:39

Nelix - well done and congrats, i was smiling and nearly in tears when i read your post - must be the pg hormones!! What a lovely perfrect labour and i am so jealous of it being qucik. My 2nd still wasn't quick, mind you quicker than the 29 with the first!! , think it went down to 14 hours after waters boke, so maybe will be luckier this tim and get into single figures!!

Heeeby when are you due??

smileycat · 04/06/2009 18:50

Heeby you must be well in to your 10 wk countdown now, how many more wks do you have to go??
I can't believe how time is flying by, I've only got 13 wks to go tomorrow..scary but exciting.
My hubby had his 40th in March & had a really good bash. I think 40 is a good age to be.
Happy Birthday for tomorrow hope you have a great day

Heeby what a perfect family day, that is what it is all about. only 5 weeks to go, scary. Funnhy you want it to go quickly but when it starts to get nearer the end you think slow down, i'm not ready yet!!!

I am feeling so tired. Think when see midwife in 3weeks will get to check iron levels. I go to bed early and still crave more sleep.

Got busy day, DS1 goes to karate and then going to a buckley museum in Battle as same DS is doing 100 years ago stuff in school and then going to cinema to see angels and demons with friend. Hang on maybe that is why i am so tired, doing to much!!!

have good weekend everyone, hope you are getting some sleep Nelix. Not looking foward to that bit one little bit xx

SparkyMalarky · 06/06/2009 13:23

Congratulations Nelix!! Hurrah for gorgeous girls

Had my first week at home with both of them this week - OMG. DS was v difficult....I have to keep reminding myself 'This will pass'.......

Heeby - I can't believe you've only got a few weeks to go! How you feeling?

How's everyone else?

funtimewincies · 06/06/2009 19:30

Feeling a bit down at the moment Sparky, partly end of holiday blues, but also I've got a hospital antenatal appointment next week (booked by mw because of my mc history) and I'm becoming slightly worried that something has gone wrong. I'm getting a lot of period type pain, although no bleeding. The scan at 11 weeks already seems such a long time ago and I've no way of telling that all is well/not well. I've no more sickness and no movement as yet (only 15 weeks). Dh is convinced that I'm bumping out a bit, but I think that I just look fat and bloated. I just need to hear that heartbeat .

Bet you wish that you'd never asked !

SparkyMalarky · 06/06/2009 21:08

oh i remember the awful wait of the early 2nd trimester...I didn't feel any movement until 21 weeks and felt fat and not at all 'bumpy'. You know the chances of something being wrong now are slim don't you (although I know that doesn't help - especially in the middle of the night!) - fingers crossed all is fine. Combined with post holiday blues, you need an early night with a pile of trashy magazines and a large stash of chocolate!
