Hey all! Still no baby here, she is hanging in there. Lots of painful BH but they don't progress beyond a dull ache. Glad everyone is doing good!! I may weel take the midwife up on a sweep next week!!!

WanabeMum · 20/05/2009 12:09

Hey Heeby thanks for the info and advice. I'll look the sites up at home as i'm sure they'll kick me off the symptom for looking at how to massage your perineum (sp?)

Funtime glad you're well, hadn't actually thought about petite maternity clothes. My legs are fairly long in comparison to the rest of me (only 5'4") so manage to get length ok. Aww that's a nightmare though, can't you get the short ones and take them up? a potch really though.

Aww nelix so sorry the little one is hanging on in there! hope she decides to come out soon, the BH must be horrible when they don't end in anything!

Heebychick · 20/05/2009 13:52

Hi ladies,

So glad your niece is doing ok smiley bit of a worry tho!

wanabe yes i agree, i'm not sure my history would show it up but don't want to be caught looking it up by our male IT department!

funtime sideways pushing eh - never heard of that! i'm sure it must help, we'll see i guess, with a big baby if i don't tear i will be totally convinced the oil helped!

nelix you poor thing, lets hope she 'pops' out soon! girls are awful for hanging around!

spats · 20/05/2009 15:59

hi all,now we are getting down to the nitty gritties , masssging perineums and all that. I htink i had stiches with both DS but didn't really have any problems that i remember so don't think it is always that bad.

DOes anyone else find tehy are tanning more whilst being pg. I am getting a nice brown colour by looking at the sun this year. Just was at palypark for about 2 hours and mum and school said i was looking brown. Is there a tanning agent in the hormones we are producing, if there is i am loving it only nice bit of being pg though!!!

Won't be long now nelix - hang on in there. x

funtimewincies · 20/05/2009 19:22

Ooh, labour vibes your way Nelix! Wanabe - I'm a trend-setter me ! It's not a position we covered in the ante-natal classes I'm sure.

Spats - I tanned more easily when I had ds, but that might also be that I was wearing lower tops and shorter sleeves, mainly because I was hotter, but also because I liked the way that I looked while pregnant and was a little more daring in my clothes choices. How different after the birth!

yellowflowers · 21/05/2009 12:21

Just wanted to saygood luck Nelix - I think you started the thread originally. xx

WanabeMum · 21/05/2009 13:57

hi ladies,

spats we are more likely to tan! It says so in the book i'm reading as it advises us to wear higher factor protection because of the increase in melanine production (assuming that's the stuff that makes you brown) but we are also more risk of burning too

funtime i'm not sure the pushing on the side thing would be all that comfortable but then i don't suppose delivering a baby is comfortable at all really . A true trend-setter! Someone said something about birth being easier if you are stood up? Anyone experienced this?

I'm such a funny shape at the moment. I'm still the same as normal from the back but from the front i look like i have a (small) football stuffed up my top. It's all in the middle though, not low down by my pubic bone at all hardly. One of my colleagues says this means I'm having a boy although must say i'm not convinced by these wives tales! Anyone have any thoughts?

I love this thread, we are all so open and honest and i love the fact that there is a mixture of 1st timers and old hands (sorry, but you know what i mean!)

Nelix any news??!!!

Heebychick · 21/05/2009 14:53

argh .... i just typed a huge reply and then pressed something which deleted the whole thing!!!

Heebychick · 21/05/2009 14:57

Anyway was gonna say i agree with wanabe in that i love this thread too and would really miss it if it went. Oh and as for shapes and sex of baby, i was all out front with DD and this one is all over and have been told i'm having a boy by lots of people! So goodness knows! there is a girl here who hasn't yet predicted incorrectly so i asked her and she says boy! So remember this ladies for when he/she 'pops' out!

I am hoping to give birth squatting or on my knees .... apparently this is best for not tearing??!

Off to hypnotherapy tomorrow so will be sure to report back!

Oh is anyone willing to share names yet? we have kind-of chosen but not telling in RL until after the birth .... we have chosen Noah for a boy and Daisy or Gracie for a girl. Not sure on middle names and although we love Gracie i wonder if it quite popular at the moment?

nelix2000 · 21/05/2009 14:57

heeby lol!!! poor you!!
yellow thankyou!!
Thanks all for best wishes and vibes!!
NO darn baby yet!!!! lol going out for dinner later, maybe then!!!.....bound to show up when we are in public!

nelix2000 · 21/05/2009 17:03

love your names Heeby......I will disclose ours soon!!

OP posts:
smileycat · 21/05/2009 17:42

Heeby my cousin had a boy last September & called him Noah I thought it was a lovely name. We are calling little one Katie, but still haven't settled on a middle name (MIL saga)
Nelix good luck for tonight hope she makes an appearance for you (but not over dinner)

Heebychick · 22/05/2009 08:05

So do we have a restaurant baby?????!!!

Thank you for the nice comments re names, we struggled with a boys but then saw Heroes on BBC2 (i am officially in love with Sylar - ok so he's a serial killer but oh so lovely!!) anyway we heard the name and both said 'hey i like that' so that was it. Might change the story slightly if we have a boy and he asks how we came upon his name!

Katie is lovely, my best friend is Katie and she is lovely so it must be a common theme that Katie's are to be lovely ladies!

Off to see Hypnotherapist now ... eek xx

nelix2000 · 22/05/2009 08:39

no baby!......but she gave me BH every 20 mins last night lol!!
We had a big list of girls names, but sort of fell in love with one in particular

OP posts:
WanabeMum · 22/05/2009 12:10

Hello all,

How was the hypnotherapy heeby?
Noah is cute, we liked Grace at one point but you're right it is quite popular at the moment. Still nice though! Haven't decided on any yet, there's a few we like but nothing set in stone. Going to wait and see what it looks like (sounds silly i know).

Aww nelix! she HAS to arrive soon surely? must be so frustrating! Jump up and down on the spot lol .

Anyone know what sparky called her little girl?

Heebychick · 22/05/2009 12:37

Hi all,

Sorry about your no-show nelix, at least she sounds like she is building up to an entrance tho!

The hypnotherapist was awesome! I loved being 'under' if that's what it's called and she was such a nice lady. She was very gentle with me and it was very relaxing, some moments when i felt really happy and some really sad - showing i had all sorts of emotions to be let out. I am going back next week to learn how to do it myself during labour (and any time i need to relax!) and then it's lots of practice!

DD is munching her sandwich next to me and will no doubt want something else in a mo as it's almost gone, so best get on, lots of love to you all. xx

ps - wananbe i totally agree re names and seeing what they look like, i think we'll do that for the girls names if we have a pink flavour x

SparkyMalarky · 22/05/2009 16:24

Whenever I think I have time to write a decent reply I have to do another feed (2 hourly at the moment...) but DD is Evie

Come on Nelix - let's have a baby for bank holiday! Curry and pineapple perhaps?

I had pethidine too - and I kept the gas and air so ended up lying down (having stood for 4 hours as it was more comfortable!) and talking all kinds of rubbish! Was like having far too many g n ts!! Didn't have to push on my side, but they did end up using a ventouse as they wanted her out (her trace was falling) and so had a cut and some stitches - and it was still better than the c-section.

right - baby really is calling now - hope all are well!
x

Pezzina · 22/05/2009 17:10

Hello all you lovely ladies,

I've been playing catch up - so here goes: -

Sorry still a no show Nelix but it does sounds as though she is building up to make an entrance - hopefully in the next day or two?

Heeby the hynotherapy sounds great. Its something I'm thinking of looking into also.

As far as possible names go - my DH and I agreed on names for both boy and girl really easily - Sofia Rose for a girl and Archie Howard for a boy. I was less keen on the Howard bit to start with (its a family name on DH's side) but it has started to grow on me.

I think Evie is a lovely name Sparky, as is Gracie Heeby.

I've been feeling super tired this week. Have also been having emotional highs and lows (even started crying in my sleep last night - DH was quite alarmed, although he initially thought I was crying because he was snoring... again! ) But I feel lots better today - and looking forward to the long weekend.

We're off to Folkestone for a friends wedding and are staying down there for the whole weekend. I've got a dress from Isabella Oliver to wear and am quite pleased with the outfit. Just hope I don't get too tired too quickly.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

Heebychick · 22/05/2009 20:06

Hi all,

Wow sparky Evie is so lovely, my god daughter in Australia is Evie and i love the name. You are my beacon of hope for a VBAC now - even with a super sized head measurement!!!

pezz your names are lovely! Rose is my DD's middle name and we chose Archie for a boy last time! so great minds think alike! Hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the edding, i have a wedding to go to on 4th July which i'm dreading as will be 39 weeks nearly then!

We don't have too much planned, dinner with friends tomorrow eve at our fav indian restaurant and then might visit a local garden exhibition (sounds dull but it's really lovely and they have home made ice cream!) We are away next weekend and the following one is my birthday and also and DH's BIG birthday so will have a few busy ones ahead.

pezz i'd totally recommend the hypnotherapy, even if it only helps me to relax and conserve energy and keep control it would of helped! it was so nice and chilled, like having a day dream! next week will be brilliant as i learn how to self hypnose!

Have a lovely sunny BH everyone - come on nelix no pressure but we want to have a BH baby like Sparky says!

nelix2000 · 24/05/2009 08:05

Good morning all!!! I have been up since 330am with "contractions" every 40 mins or so......they are regular but don't seem to be progressing pain wise so think its a false start lol!!!this child is a sticker!!
I thought I would "know" when I was in labour this time too!!!....so a sleepless night for no reason really unless its the start of a loooooong slow labour which I doubt! Will check back in laterof to catch up on some sleep!

OP posts:
smileycat · 24/05/2009 08:31

Oh Nelix poor you, I hope it all goes well for you today & you end up with a beautiful little perfect girl by the end of the day, wishing you all the very best for a quick & easy labour, big hug at least she is gearing up if anything xxx

Heebychick · 24/05/2009 15:23

Any news nelix?!! Sounds like something's happening! Good luck and best wishes for a quick and easy labour hopefully!

All well here today, had a lovely morning walking round a local garden exhibition, picnic on the grass and ice cream in the sun etc .... bliss. Now DH and DD are sleeping it off whilst i have watched last nights BGT, hurrah for trashy telly!

xxx

nelix2000 · 25/05/2009 12:13

hey all no news......she is hanging tight!!lol...see midwife on wed as it is my due date....told her I did not want a sweep but have changed my mind now!!!so will see which midwife is on before I really decide. The one who did my fisrt sweep with DS was rubbish and did not beleive they worked so was half hearted about it. The 2nd one was fab and I was in labour 10 hours later!! plus the 1st midwife only spoke to my mother and ignored me totally! how rude lol!! so yes if she is still in there by wed....she is getting swept out!!

SOunds like you had a lovelly sunday heeby! We played in the neighbours garden, then went to a bbq at my mums in the afternoon, was a lovelly day too yesterday! tho today I am paying with cramps but well worth it
