Hey everyone. Thougth i would leave a message as not been on MN for a while. What a worryng time for you iggy, fingers crossed for the scan on Weds. My Midwife left my surgery so have finally tracked down my new one, they never seem to come to you!! so am having my 16 week check up at 17 weeks!! Can feel flutter so sure baby OK, still getting nausea, have just scoffed packet of starburst to take taste in mouth away.My Easter egg count is no 9 , can anyone beat that?? Have put on 7lbs, not sure if baby+fluid or just easter egg!! Does anyone know how much should have on about 17 weeks?? x

smileycat · 06/04/2009 19:24

dentist went fine, no fillings today mum

Spats I didn't put any weight on for the 1st 16wks I think it was because I'd given up the red wine Xmas Smile & the last couple of wks I've started to creep up to about a pound a wk (now 18+3) not sure if thats anything to go by but its whats happening to me.
I read that an average of 2 to 2.5 stone during the whole pg & anything else is the extra weight you have to shift after the baby is born. They say you only need an extra 200 cals per day & that is only in the last 3 months......so don't eat for 2 its just a miff & you'll regret it afterwards...she says stuffing her face with a great big slice of lemon cake hummm

Pezzina · 07/04/2009 09:29

Iggy hope all goes well today, sweetie. Will be thinking of you. What time is your scan?

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 09:37

Hi Pezzina is not till 5.30pm - so long dragging day ahead of me. thanks for asking

spats my easter egg count is 2 so far... but worryingly in 2 days

funtimewincies · 07/04/2009 09:46

Just checking in to say 'hi' and sorry I've not kept up with the news, feeling too green and clammy ALL day, it's horrible.

All the best for Iggy's scan.

queenie1 · 07/04/2009 13:27

Hi everyone

As I wrote on the other thread, so hoping you have a good scan later today iggy.

I had another scan myself yesterday and all appears to be going well. I'm now 8 weeks and 4 days which is the furthest I've ever got to and the sonographer says it's all looking really positive. I was so anxious as I had brown spotting over the weekend and thought it was all going to be over. So when I saw the heart beat, I cried!!!

funtime - sorry to hear you're feeling so crappy

and smiley - can't believe how far on you are. I remember when you got your BFP. It doesn't seem that long ago at all.

Hope you have all been enjoying the amazing weather.

x

funtimewincies · 07/04/2009 15:47

Great news Queenie and I agree, it only seems like yesterday that Smiley got her BFP. Mind you, it seems like that for Nelix's too !

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 19:30

Just quick update - scan was bad news, baby no longer had heartbeat .

So last post from me in here. But I hope to be back at somepoint

Thanks for all your support xx

queenie1 · 08/04/2009 08:07

iggy - just posted message for you on the other thread. Really sorry to hear this - take good care for yourself. You'll be back here before you know it. Lots of love to you. xxx

Heebychick · 08/04/2009 09:03

Hi ladies, so sorry to hear iggy if you are still lurking, lots of love and support honey, please take good care of yourself and rest when you can.

simley i agree with the others, are you cheating and jumping on weeks?!!!! it does seem so quick for you!

Well i am walking like a 90 year old today, i have trapped a nerve or something similar in what seems like my bottom! i guess it's my pelvis and it is sooooo painful, nothing seems to help except maybe sitting in a comfty chair, then getting up again is awful. i know it's not spd as it's muscle pain rather than a bone thing (i think) but not sure there's anything i can do to help (sitting on hot water bottle at work right now!)

how is everyone else? how did the move go nelix?

WanabeMum · 08/04/2009 12:08

Hi ladies,

my life has been so manic since getting my BFP i don't seem to post very often. Always thinking of you all though.

Iggy that's so sad, if you're still around I'm so so sorry

How is everyone else doing? Sorry to hear you're suffering a little Heeby. How far along are you now?

I've reached 16weeks today so I'm buzzing. Waiting impatiently for the flutters. Keep thinking i feel them but not quite sure . Have my checkup with the midwife next Friday and she said I can hear the heartbeat then so i'm really looking forward to that.

Hope all is well everywhere else in pregnancy land. How's nelix doing?

Heebychick · 08/04/2009 12:16

Hi wanabe yes it's horrid and it's so painful i'm not sure what i can do to relieve it, might try and work from home tomorrow as at least then i can lie down when i need to etc.

i'm 26 weeks today and feeling like i'm really motoring now (apart from the horrible pelvis/bum pain!) my SIL is due this friday and after a CS last time she's hoping for a VBAC, so she is my guinea pig to see how she gets on before me. Have you had any birth thoughts yet?

funtimewincies · 08/04/2009 19:41

Also posted on the other thread iggy, really sorry to hear the news .

Heeby - I got that with ds and the only thing that helped was to kneel down so that you're sitting on your heels and slowly lean forward, creeping your finger-tips along the floor until your top half is completely stretched out. Then, after a couple of minutes (if the bump will allow) put your forehead on the floor and bring your hands back to test by your sides. I learnt them at yoga so I'll try and find a link to some photos. Helped me no end .

funtimewincies · 08/04/2009 19:51

This was it Heeby. Time spent on all fours is also good for getting the baby into a head down, back to your tummy (rather than it's back to your back) position .

Have a look at 'the cat' as well. I remember that being quite good for the sciatic pain I had.

Heebychick · 08/04/2009 20:03

That is so great thank you funtime i'm off to try them out!

Heebychick · 09/04/2009 09:02

Hi all, well after a consultation with my GP and midwife it seems i do have SPD sadly, it's agony and i'm sectretly hoping that it's something different because to have to live with this for another 3 1/2 months will be hell. I've been referred to a physio and given some better painkillers so hopefully we can get it under control. Any tips nelix???

Am working from home today which is good as having to try and find a comfty position isn't easy so at least i can do what i like here.

smileycat · 10/04/2009 10:21

Iggy so sorry to hear your news, big hugs to your & your dh thinking of you both

Heeby yes its does seem like yesterday that I got my BFP (xmas morn)but as I was only on a 21 day cycle it seems like forever already cause I knew when I was 3 wks rather than some girls not finding out till at least 5wks.
I'm 19 wks today & feeling great, can't wait for the scan a wk on Monday to see the baby again & to find out if its pink or blue Xmas Grin
Heeby sorry to hear about the SPD, what are the symptoms?, I'm getting lots of stretchy & some sharp pains but I'm hoping this is just normal.
Its great to see so many more names from the original thread creeping up on this one, hopfully we will get a few more over Easter

Have a great Easter everyone, treat yourself to an Easter egg or 3 (I already have)

Pezzina · 11/04/2009 09:56

Hi everyone,
Smiley I?m 19 wks today ? so just a day behind you. I?ve also been getting a few ?stretchy? pains in my lower abdomen so I think its normal and just the little one making room . I don?t have my scan till the 29th ? so over another couple of weeks to wait. We?ve decided we?re not going to find out the sex (but I will be keeping my eyes out for sight of a little winky!)

Heeby sorry to hear you have SPD. When do you get to see the physio?

Iggy How are you doing, sweetie? Still thinking about you and hoping you?re getting loads of support from family and friends xx

Hi to everyone else ? hope you all have a great Easter!

Heebychick · 11/04/2009 12:49

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the best wishes, it doesn't seem too bad tody, the symptoms are same as nelix mentioned earlier, pain in hips, pelvis and bottom mainly, it feels like you can't open your legs (sorry DH!!) but it seems to be better after resting a bit.

Bump is very lively lately, seems to be kicking and punching all the time which is lovely, although it seems to be quite around luncthime (which is when DD has a kip) so lets hope that pattern stays huh! i keep thinking them both sleeping at different times must be quite tough.

My SIL was due yesterday so we are waiting on news from them, she feels like a dormant volcano, tee hee. pezz i think you and i ae the only ones not finding out the flavour, i am impatient but glad i don't know as i have 'boy' days and 'girl' days still. (the boy days are when DD is being a typical little miss stroppy knickers tho)

Happy easter to you all .... i'm off to have a sleep whilst DD does and then make some choc easter nests.

xx

funtimewincies · 11/04/2009 19:43

Ouch heeby. Hope that the physio can help.

Well, the point at which I had the last 2 mcs has past, so feeling a little more confident about that, but am now torturing myself with thoughts that it might be another blighted ovum or a molar pg. The sickness and bloating are horrendous and I've only got about 3 tops which are loose enough to hide the bloating (I can't face going into maternity gear before I know that there is actually a baby there).

Sorry, ignore the grumpathon. Off to guzzle more lucozade, I'll be turning orange at this rate .

funtimewincies · 12/04/2009 19:31

A little bit of spotting today, just when I wipe . I've never had a situation when spotting hasn't turned into a full mc, so feeling pretty this evening.

I'll try and get hold of a midwife tomorrow (on a bank holiday?) and see what she says.

Arse!

Joolsiam · 13/04/2009 08:42

Thinking of you today funtime and hoping all is OK.

Have been absent from this thread for a while (cheering you on from the sidelines) cos I felt like an interloper - not even actively TTC ...

However, after getting DP in the mood for just one crucial night, I now appear to be up the duff again Am nervous already, as I should be 4+2 but that Clearblue conception indicator thingie only says PG 1-2 and I have NO symptoms - no sore boobs, no nausea, no extra weeing .... I was 99% certain I was PG, as I felt implantation, had wierd vivid dreams, raging insomnia and a tender abdomen, but slept right through last night (exhausted after so many bad nights)

Trying to be philosophical and unexcited - will operate on head in the sand mode for a while in the hope of preserving some shreds of sanity !!

Hope you are all enjoying your choc :} I guess I'll have to come off my diet now, so I can eat some without guilt !

Pezzina · 13/04/2009 08:53

Jools that is exciting news! I am so very pleased for you. As for the no symptoms thing, I was exactly the same. It was the only month I didn't have any symptoms but I just had a very strong feeling that I was pregnant. What a wonderful Easter present for you and your DH

I am nervously waiting for my new cat to come back - we've only been letting her out for a few days and she usually pops back in every 15 mins or so but she has now been out for nearly an hour and has yet to return. I guess I'll have to do the calling her name outside and looking like a crazy lady thing in a moment.

Wow - just as I finished typing that - she has just walked through the door covered in cobwebs so goodness only knows where she has been!

Funtime How are you today? Did you managed to speak to a M/W?

Heebychick · 13/04/2009 12:23

H ladies,

jools that is lovely news, i often think of you and wish that you will have so good news soon. Do stay and tell us all!

funtime how are you honey? what did the MW say? i had spotting (heavy spotting) a few times in the early days and all is ok so it might all be just another one of those unexplained things, chin up honey and do let us know - thinking of you xxx

I have eaten too much choc now, am feeling very fat and fluffy .. mind you not as fat and fluffy as SIL who is now 4 days overdue and feels like she's gonna burst! she has until friday until they 'pull the plug' so to speak and her plan for a VBAC goes out the window and she has to be induced or C-sec. She is hoping for the VBAC so fingers crossed bub makes an appearence soon!

funtimewincies · 13/04/2009 18:41

I've been booked into the EPAU unit for a chat and hopefully a scan tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed. DH is very upbeat but I dare not get my hopes up.

Great new Jools and try not to worry too much (from Captain Neurosis here ).

I was the same with my cat Pezzina !
