Heebychick · 13/04/2009 19:50

pezz did your cat return ok? i lost mine the other day, i was looking everywhere (he's not supposed to go out as not innoculated - he's allergic to the vaccine (strange breed!)) and searched everywhere and panicked when finally he came stretching and grinning out of my wardrobe after a long nap .... grrr!

Good luck funtime i shall keep checking back to see how you are doing.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend other than the mentioned worries, easter choc is sooo addictive!

Pezzina · 14/04/2009 06:25

Hi everyone

Heeby I'm glad to report my cat did return ok. She was totally covered in cobwebs so definitely up to something! But absolutely fine.

I had a lovely weekend. The weather yesterday was wonderful and my DH and I spent the day with my family - had a pub lunch, followed by a lovely walk in the countryside - munching chocolate as we went.

The only downside was that I've been suffering from really bad heartburn so couldn't scoff as much as I wanted to

funtimewincies · 14/04/2009 09:22

Pleased to hear that your cat was alright, giving us a taste of life when our bumps are teenagers !

Thanks Heeby and all who've wished me luck. I'm really nervous with a loud voice in my head asking what I'll do if it all goes wrong again. And I'm too sick for chocolate .

Pezzina · 14/04/2009 12:21

Hope all goes well this afternoon, Funtime

Will be thinking of you

Heebychick · 14/04/2009 13:10

Ahhh the heartburn, don't we love it!? Fizzy drinks make mine worse and just when i fancy a bit of diet coke! grrr!

Also wine - although i'm obviously only having the occasional sip, still it's a good warning.

pezz your weekend sounded perfect, how lovely to spend some quality time together, and don't you just love knowing there's a little person in there enjoying it all too with you. I love the feeling content part of pg.

funtime i am thinking of you today honey, please ignore that loud voice until you have some answers. As Baz Lerman once said "worrying about something is about as useful as chewing bubblegum to solve a maths problem"

funtimewincies · 14/04/2009 19:01

Thanks guys. I've got a bean with a heartbeat which is measuring about right for dates, so I'm thrilled and gives me something to hang on to while I try and get to 12 weeks .

Ahhh, the heartburn. I was swigging Gaviscon from the bottle on the bus and getting some very strange looks when pg with ds!

queenie1 · 15/04/2009 07:44

Congratulations funtime - this is such good news!!! When I saw the heartbeat at six weeks it all suddenly made it feel real for me and that I could believe in this pregnancy, particularly as it was the first time I'd ever seen a heartbeat. Apparently if a heartbeat is seen at 6 weeks, you have a 78% chance of it all working out so hopefully that will take some of the anxiety away for you. You have to believe that this will happen - I've now got a lot of hope for you that it will.

I'm going to be 10 weeks on Thursday. Just two more to get through before I get to the magic 12 and I've got two more scans during that time which is good as it breaks the waiting time up.

heeby - heartburn sounds horrible.

Hope everyone is well

queenie1 · 15/04/2009 07:45

ooh, forgot to say, jools - great to have you and your BFP over here on this thread!!!

Pezzina · 15/04/2009 08:58

Thats fantastic news Funtime - I'm very pleased for you. xx

smileycat · 15/04/2009 09:56

Jools congrats again I posted on the other thread, but its great to have you back, you got your BFP last time just as I joined the TTCing thread, so I feel like I know you well

We went up the coast (Costa del Sol) for 3 nights of sun, sea & tons of non stop eating. We found a really good deal for the 3 of us to go full board & the food was great, but I think I've put on a stone (not brave enough to step on the scales this morn)
We took our easter eggs but didn't eat any of them as the puds were really good, so we still have them sitting in the fridge bekoning us to eat them. I think we will just have a choc feast later today & get it over with & then try & be more heathly for the rest of this pg.
Only 5 more days till we find out if we are having a pink or a blue one...sooooo excited

spats · 15/04/2009 10:10

Not had time to be on here for a bit so just catching up on news. Congrats to funtime and jools my friend is now pg and is 9 weeks behind me which is good, someone to talk to. She is looking to me for milestones but i am 18 weeks and still feel sick so not a good role model!!! really tired, especially after work. going with friend who has 2 boys same age as me to Bedgefury forest this afternoon, so may be knackered on my return - afternoons are worse. Saw my 2nd midwife few days ago (first one left) who was nicer than other one so quite pleased, however don't seem to have much contact with them anyway. She did the 16 weeks and then said book in at 26 weeks!!! sure with 1st DS had more contact. Have got 21 week scan on 6th May, same day as friend has 12 week scan so that pretty cool. DH wants to find out sex , i didn't but now thinking maybe coz then can buy colour clothes as gave all clothes away after 2DS. Also 1 wanted 3 boys AND IF IT IS GOING TO BE A GIRL MAY BE BEST TO be prepared so not a schock. Mind you carrying the same as the boys with no weight on arms or hips.I am sure that with boys people are all out front and from behind don't look pg and with girls people put on weight everywhere. Is that not the case? If so this is a boy again. Well thats my theory. Anyway enough ramblings from me, i am tired and just typing away without thinking, so will stop boring you all.

Heebychick · 15/04/2009 10:34

Hi ladies,

funtime i couldn't wait to come on this morning and hear good news .... so great about your little bean, so now try to relax and enjoy this pg, i bled quite badly at 10 weeks, 12 weeks and again a few weeks after that - but my large lively bump is totally fine! so it really can be nothing (easy to say now tho !) How far are you now?

spats good to hear from you, and sorry to shatter your illusions but i was all out front - like i had shoved a bowling ball up my jumper, with nothing elsewhere and out came a stonking big girl, same shape with this one and am hoping for a boy tho so lets hope the last pg was a one off - against the norm shape! Yes i was shocked too at how little they see you 2nd and 3rd time around, i guess they think we're pro's by now. So do you think you will find out the sex?

smiley your break sounded lovely, ideal for a short break and lovely to have a choc binge - my easter eggs are gone now and have my eye on DD's ... no bad mummy!

Joolsiam · 15/04/2009 11:49

Thanks for the congratulations guys

It still hasn't really sunk in - I have no stretching pains, no nausea, boobs not sore or swollen and am only tired because of raging insomnia ! Can't remember when symptoms were supposed to kick in, but hopefully soon as, if Boots at Paddington had got any PG tests in stock, I'd have bought a shelf full this morning and be doing at least one a day, just to convince myself it is real !!

I still went to the gym last night, and am struggling to get my head round not being on a diet any more ...

Will do another test soon and, if still positive, book in with a GP next week as I want to try and get a scan for 7.5 / 8 weeks. Looking back on my notes from last PG, it is highly likely that the bean died at 7 weeks when I had a teeny bit of brown spotting and briefly strong cramps that had me doubled up in pain for a couple of minutes, so that is the first milestone to get through.

Heebychick · 15/04/2009 12:24

Hi jools what you are planning sounds ideal, i think you are right to take little steps and pass each milestone as it comes. when is 7 weeks for you? Fingers crossed for you honey, think positive thoughts and be calm if you can.

If it helps apart from the tiredness i didn't really get any symptoms until about 6-8 weeks when i felt seasickness but not much before or after that, my boobs have been the biggest telltale really! (and they leaked last nite - wierd!)

xxx

Joolsiam · 15/04/2009 12:50

Heeby - I will hit 7 weeks on May 3rd, so am hoping for a scan sometime in the week following that.

Got a scare just now - thought I was lightly spotting, but 45 minutes and 2 loo visits later, I now think it was just bad quality loo roll

Heebychick · 15/04/2009 13:45

Ha ha - sorry that is funny! Get yourself some Andrex puppies girl!

Roll on May 4th then! to get you past your 7 weeks. xx

smileycat · 15/04/2009 17:05

laughing at the loo paper thing I did exactly the same thing a few wks ago, had some pink toilet paper on the role that only had a tinsy bit left so used that up & rapped around some of the new white stuff, after I wiped it looked like my wee was pink/red, my heart stopped for a couple of seconds but then I realised what I'd done & it was just the pink paper showing through & had to smile about it

Pezzina · 15/04/2009 17:38

I had a slight ?wobble? today ? I went into Mothercare in my lunch hour to have a look at moses baskets / cots and started to well up when I saw them. Totally unexpected. I felt a bit of a blubbering idiot ?thankfully the shop wasn?t that busy. Just looking at the beds made me realise how real it all is. I think I was a bit overwhelmed by it all.

Up until now I?ve been focusing on finding maternity clothes that fit and where I would like to give birth to the baby ? not really thinking much about the end product of it all ? the little baby itself!

Anyway, I phoned DH and he managed to talk me back from the brink of sobbing ? phew!

funtimewincies · 15/04/2009 19:08

Jools - my recycled loo paper sometimes looks a bit pinky when wet. It gave me a couple of scares in the first week.

Pezzina - you've reminded me of my first trip to Mothercare when I was about 22 weeks or so with ds. I thought I'd wander in and get a couple of things on the list, ease myself in gently sort of thing. I'd walked in, realised I hadn't got a clue what half of the things in there were for, let alone which one I wanted and turned and fled. I didn't return until I was at least 28 weeks [bgrin]!

Heeby - I'm 7+4 by dates and 6+6 by scan, although the sonographer said that it was difficult to get a really good measurement with my retroverted uterus.

WanabeMum · 16/04/2009 13:08

Funtime fantastic news about your healthy little bean!!! I'm so pleased for you

And Jools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! woo hoo Your BFP is here. I'm so pleased for you too.

This website has cheered me up no end today. Don't worry about lack of symptoms, all i had was slightly tender boobs and that didn't last long (came back later!). I'm now into my 18th week (17 weeks yesterday) and have my midwife appointment tomorrow to listen to the heartbeat and have more bloods taken(yuk).

I'm so excited today, keeps hitting me in waves. It started with one of my colleagues bringing in a scan picture of her grandchild to be and telling me they found out the sex. Until yesterday i was determined i didn't want to know what the sex was but now i'm changing my mind. Have 3 weeks tomorrow till my 20 week scan so have time to decide. DH wants to know and has said so from the start. Hmmm who knows?! I'm indecisive anyway so may decide while i'm having my scan!

How is everyone else? Nelix? Sparky? Can't be long until some of us start popping surely?

nelix2000 · 16/04/2009 14:51

Hi ladies glad everyone is really in great spirits at the mo.
I've been feeling baby doing little gentle kicks for the last couple of wks & its been great for me but not for DH. Last night we were reading in bed & baby was giving me a few gentle kicks to say she was there, then they got stronger & I quickly said to DH to put his hand on my belly & what do you know right on time I got the biggest kick I've felts so far, DH was so happy to have felt it so soon as he goes away next Sat for 7 wks & wont get to feel the first kicks until he comes back....I love this part best when its all nice & gentle, not looking forward to the foot under the ribs bit that I remember with DS

Heebychick · 17/04/2009 09:02

smiley how lovely to feel those early kicks and so great for your DH too. Awful that he has to go away though, at least it's not for too long i suppose and he'll be back for the end. Not nice tho.

I saw a physio yesterday and she was very helpful, she worked on my right side and gave me lots of advice so hopefully i can keep it under control.

I have a lovely 2 year old today to entertain so am hoping i can keep up with all the efforts of not lifting etc .... hmm might be tricky!

I will try and post more later....as soon as I go on mat leave (one week left!) you'll be sick of the sight of me
