LazyLinePainterJane · 24/10/2008 19:00

Wow all these babies! Congrats to everyone, we're all producing a little early, will there be anyone left by the time we get to November?

I've been very twingy, I feel ready now and every day I tell myself that today will be the day. The baby seems not to agree

mum2becks · 24/10/2008 19:16

Oh wow congrats Pinky!!! And welcome to baby Imogen Do we know the weight of baby??

They are arriving thick and fast now, and looks like another tonight Suiledonn (unless s/he is already here now I've heard how fast your last birth was!!!!!!!!!!)

I wonder just how many babies we will have before we even reach November??

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 19:17

Aw, bless Pinky, thats fabulous news - SO pleased for her! [gri n]

And good luck Suiledonn, how v exciting! Eeeeeeeeeek!

It sounds like this is bringing on other people's babies as well, eh Jane? and Lacks? Any more twinges, news etc?

I am hoping that Baby Saurus, who let's face it isn't due for another 2 weeks and 5 days, takes the hint and gets on with it! It has been v quiet today - maybe the bikini wax yesterday scared it (of course, as I have just typed this I got a HUAGE kick in the ribs, so hey).

Monkey, if you're back from work, how did it go? Did you fall asleep at the desk? I know there's someone else who's just had her last day of work as well, so sorry I cannot remember who but hope it was good and you got loads of pressies and chocolate...

Got to go and make soup in batch quantities as my body has decided it's now alert and non-painful for a bit... Bloody thing.

OOOOOOHHHHH babies babies everywhere!

PS When you have terrible insomnia, don't go on youtube and watch other people's birth videos. Not a sensible thing to do at 3am, didn't help me sleep at all and I really did not need to see that. Truly the internet is a very odd place.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 19:19

We seem to be very heavily biased towards the beginning of the month and the end and not so many in the middle. I can see babies coming well into December from us lot!

I'm hoping virgil stays put till November, but at least if he were to come now he would still be able to wear the lovely scorpio bodysuit that my stork bought me

Bookmarking thread!

Having terrible puter issues, hard drive on mine blew up yesterday (backed up all my photo's 2 days before, must have sensed something was going to happen). Currently using incredibly slow, decrepid puter, but better than nothing.

Congrats Pinky on the birth of your daughter!!

I am having some intense BH's and baby is definately much lower than he has been. Not sure if this is the start of something (am 39+2 today, had ds2 at 39+5) as Bh's and contractions feel the same to me until I get to about 7cm. I am willing to bet this a false start that 3rd babies are supposedly notorious for and I will still be here in 2 weeks time, but just in case, I am going to get off my butt and move around, see if I can encourage baby to make a move. At least beinga homebirth, if it is real, I should be able to update, providing the computer plays ball!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 19:22

just more of the same from me rutho....but I'm sure I'm in for the long haul! third babies are notoriously difficult to coax out apparently and are happy to have stop/start labours! And technically I could still be hanging around for another four weeks!!

lol at you watching you tube birth videos in the wee small hours...silly lady

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 19:24

I know, what was I thinking? All I'm going to say about that is that men are pigs.

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 19:26

Not DH, he's lovely - apart from the snoring... But some people out there in youtubeland need a slap, preferably from Germaine Greer and Andrea Dworkin or similar. Or me, come to think of it.

Bless moment - DH has going out bowling with SIL, seemed surprised that I declined the invite on massiveness and lack of balance grounds. So, not a pig, but not all there either!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 19:27

lol heartmum....we are in the same position!!

OP posts:
MonkeyMargot · 24/10/2008 19:28

Rutho am so, sooo tired. Was just nodding off on sofa when DH called me. Whilst I've technically "finished" work - i've actually got to log on and do a couple of hours tomorrow so ALMOST done now!! Colleagues v.sweet though. Already did my leaving lunch thing on weds in town.
How are you feeling today? Shattered I imagine! Lets hope we get some quality kiperoonie ce soir.
Gosh - i really can't believe how many October babies we're going to have on this thread!

twinkle183 · 24/10/2008 19:34

Hi ya guys - sorry I haven't been on for a very long time - just been so busy with the kids, moving house, hubby being away as he is in the Navy and my nan dying (been helping my mum out) that I just haven't had time to myself = but seeing as I finally have a bit of peace and quiet thought I would do a little post!

Congrats to all that have had the babies whether they be early or on time but was wondering as you ladies are really good with advice and I probably should know the answer to this question but wanted to dip my foot in to the wealth of knowledge! I 35 wks + 1 and am engaged and have been having tightenings now am I to get excited as I haven't had any show or do you think they are BH? They aren't painful just very uncomfortable.... This is my third baby but this one is different for some reason... Any advice welcome!!!

sparkletoes · 24/10/2008 19:35

OH WOW, Congratulations Pinky and baby Imogen!! Lovely name and I also love Martha!!

Wayhaey we are poppin like peas!

Bloody hell tho Suiledonn did you set any records with that birth! That is amazing!! Relaxation vibes coming your way...

How far on were you when they tried the gel Daisy?

Good luck HeartMum too! A home birth sounds magical, lucky thing... calming thoughts to you too.

LOL Ruthy what can I say girl??!! Stay away from UTube springs to mind!

barbareebaa · 24/10/2008 19:43

Congratulations pinkee

Suiledon - how exciting!! looking forward to hearing about your new arrival very soon!

Hi to everyone else!

I went to see Merry this afternoon and met (and cuddled)a very beautiful baby girl called....
Mirissa (sp?) it was so lovely - merry looks really well. Her little boy was quite poorly in the night but is improving. They have not chosen a name yet (sorry Lacks!!) but are working on it!!

I passed on (is that the right one, or is it 'past'??) everyones love and she was very touched that she was being thought of

ceebee74 · 24/10/2008 19:50

Wow, congratulations to Pinky and I think Imogen is just the prettiest name Hope mum and baby are doing well and can come home soon

Suiledonn good luck to you for today/tomorrow or whenever the baby decides to arrive - can't wait to here the news.

HM2J ooh a live birth thread - can't wait for that!

Daisy am definitely glad your baby decided to hang on until today - have been a bit worried that your Stork present may have been misjudged these last few days with all your talk of contractions etc but can now breathe a sigh of relief

I am now a 'free' woman - today was a bit of an anti-climax tbh as I had my present given to me on Wednesday and Fridays are always quiet! Am a tad annoyed that one of the managers that I provide a service to and work closely with and I thought had a good relationship with didn't ring, e-mail or pop in and see me today to say bye/good luck etc - I know people are busy but really would a phone call be too much (or AIBU to expect that??)

Anyway, all by the by as technically I don't have to step inside the building again until September although of course I will be doing to show off my new little man when he arrives.

ceebee74 · 24/10/2008 19:51

Barbs x-posts. I bet Merry was pleased to see you and love the name. Really hope baby boy Merry improves more and they can all come home very soon.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 20:00

yay for MerryM, Mirissa is lovely, and I hope they come up with a boys name soon; I know that one was causing her the most indecision. Great news that he is improving though. Must be all these MN vibes

sparkles I was term plus 10 days.

hi twinkle . Sorry to hear about your nan . The whole third baby is foxing a few of us. I don't know what's going on with my body. Since the weekend I've been having big ole, bad ole BH, but they feel different.....all over my bump rather than just the top like normal BHs...everything feels a bit more intense with them. they seem to be increasing in frequency but still only a few in a day so not too worried yet! A friend had a stop start labour like this and got to 6cms dilated without even realising it!
