chocolategal · 24/10/2008 20:45

welcome back twinkle sounds like you've had a time of it, hope your doing ok

MummyNic · 24/10/2008 21:24

Congratulations Pinky - my niece is called Imogen, it's a great name.

Good luck Suiledon - sounds like you won't be long now.

Hi Twinkle, my DH was in the Navy until last year - I can relate to being on your own, it's not nice. My Nana passed last Sept whilst I was on honeymoon, it's hard to get through but luckily I wasn't pg at the time. You have my sympathies.

misdee · 24/10/2008 21:31

congratualions pinky!

so it that 5 babies already?

i am still here, feeling less twingey today but very tired.

my dd3 is uber-clingey atm, she has turned back into a limpet-child, like she was when dh first came out of hospital. she wants to be carried all the time, or sitting on my lap. am trying to give her attention but its hard as she is constantly clambering all over me.

suiledonn - Definitely a lack of communication or something at your hospital. Sounds like not long now so but really happy for you . Also very at your 33mins from 3cm to birth! I dont know how long it took for me with DS from 3cm but the whole thing was about 20hrs and in the end was assisted.

pinky - Congrats. Welcome to the world Imogen. Very nice of you to allocate a middle name to me (Ann).

merry - Mirissa is a beautiful name. More hugs to you and your baby boy.

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:12

Misdee how on earth is she managing to get a purchase on you - does she have crampons? My mate and her little boy are coming over tomorrow and he likes getting on my knee for a cuddle but I have no lap so we'll see how that works out...

Ooh tired tired tired - was meaning to get more done today but have run out of hours and minutes again (too much time on tinternet ).

vbab78 · 24/10/2008 22:16

Well had a nice day just walking around Doncaster with mum, dad and DS. All was nice and DS was doing his "go away mummy" routine which is him messing about and i then mess around back and he laughs or does his devil grin. It has took me ages to realise how wicked DS sense of humour is. DS is a real wind up merchant.

It was a nice walk except for baby every couple of mins when I least expect it causing a pain in my left leg and me thinking it will give way just to spring back into life. You can just imagine how I looked in my horrible clothes, with this bump, pained face, limping and occasionally nearly falling over! My mum and dad where gradually getting more worried about me and asking if I want to cut the shopping short. I explained I was fine in between pains and probably being better on my feet.

DS has now started with cold or something and got worse since tea. Even his voice is affected. We have just cuddled since 5 in between me trying to get him to eat, him not wanting anything which is always strange and him having a 5 min bath and not even getting his toys out! He then after lots of cuddles asked to go to bed at 7.10. Poor love has just finished antibiotics for cold sores and stuff.

WAXING tomorrow for first time. EEK!

chocolategal · 24/10/2008 22:20

hopefully wont be long for you misdee rutho i aim for 1 chore a day! that way anything extra is a bonus!

my baby is being very wriggly tonight, with some quite sore, sharp pains right down below!
i am hoping this is him engaging! am 37 weeks tmw and he wasnt engaged at last appt on monday

am going to inflate gym ball this weekend and start bouncing!!!

chocolategal · 24/10/2008 22:22

aww vbab hope DS is on the mend soon. Waxing will be fine tmw, the thought is worse than the actual event!

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:27

Vbab you will be fine - honestly, it's still not that bad (slightly tender but better than 'orrible shaving rash!).

Poor DS, sounds like a cold coming.

My mate has just told me that she is potty training her little lad but that in honour of my inability to clean wee off floors at the mo' she will bung him in a nappy for the day. I can't help feeling this may confuse him...

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:31

Chocolategal can't remember who said it but does it feel "like the baby's trying to chew its way out sideways"? I had that in a v uncomfortable couple of days the other week, since when it has just been Down There Lurking... But not chewing, thank goodness. And I could breathe again, which was lovely.

1 chore a day? What would Nigella say? Apart from, "Ooh, cake, lovely!". I was going to do the ironing but am having a cup of hot chocolate instead. I may go and make another in a minute as Green and Black drinking choc is considerably better than almost anything, really. Including chores.

chocolategal · 24/10/2008 22:37

well, i am hoping to wake up with a lower down bump tmw after all this "chewing" that is going on!!

yep i agree rutho, one minute he can pee his pants, the next he cant!! LOL!!!

off to bed, will hopefully get a few hours sleep before the tossing and turning starts!
night night ladies..

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:53

I might do the same - just not looking forward to DH coming home all beery...

BUT! He has now done 7 days with no fags, as long as he hasn't fallen off the wagon tonight. Very proud of him and suddenly fancy him loads more as well! He does have his moments of aceness...

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:54

PS At least DH knows that he really, really isn't allowed to pee his pants, no matter how much beer he's had. To be fair, though, this has never ever happened.

misdee · 24/10/2008 22:55

i'm staying awake till i hear dh snoring, as he is feeling frisky tonight

i keep telling him no as it sets off Braxton hicks badly, and really not in the mood. trouble is, he knows my weak spots lol.

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 22:59

Missdee have you tried confusing him by saying yes? I know, I know, but I did that to DH the other night and tbh it quite threw him. Poor man didn't know what to say, and I did get a relatively good nights sleep and a bunch of flowers out of it. I sometimes find that pestering him when he's not expecting it gives him a lovely insight into how the other half lives, although it has been known to backfire...

Also, has he even been known to do fake snores to lull you into a false sense of security?

Have just realised that DH and I are perfectly suited cos we're both massive wind-up artists.

misdee · 24/10/2008 23:01

lol ruth, yup did that the other week. he was like this then rush upstairs!!

i figure, another 15mins, even if he is currently faking snores, he wil lbe fast asleep by the time igo up lol.

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 23:04

They're not daft, are they...

I liked the bit when DH discovered you're not really supposed to do it for 6 weeks afterwards (yeah, right, that'll happen ). You should have seen his face. I did try to tell hime that he'd be too tired anyway...

MummyNic · 24/10/2008 23:11

I certainly recommend trying it on, I did the other evening and DH ran a mile - apparently my huge bump and bum aren't a turn on - can't imagine why and then I looked in a full length mirror...

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 23:11

Okay, I have just yawned the top of my head off so I'm going to take my hot chocolate and many catalogues to bed with me, DH can sleep on the couch if he gets back all smelly and horrible!

Nighyy night - I wonder if there will be 6 babies tomorrow!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 23:19

I missed some chat . When I clicked threads I'm on it said mine was the last post.....weird.

I definately think virgil is trying to chew his way out of my cervix.....remember Alien?

Does anyone else get tickled? I get these little flutters just next to my hipbones which I can only think is the baby wiggling his hands about. It's an odd sensation, but not altogether unpleasant . Definately better than chewing.

BH have been a bit bad this evening....if I have another four weeks of this I shall want to shoot myself

MummyNic · 25/10/2008 00:00

Daisy - yes, I sometimes have little tickles, so hard to describe. But then I sometimes have kicks / punches to my bowels and that's horrid!!!

Time for bed for me too, DH is out at a mates so I can get a head start on the snoring competion!!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 00:04

I can drool to my hearts content tonight

Not sure why but in the last few weeks I have taken the concept of drooling in my sleep to a whole 'nother level. the pillow was wet the other morning when I woke up .

OP posts:
MummyNic · 25/10/2008 00:10

Oooh, I've had that a bit lately too - grossed me out!!! Glad I'm not the only one - I can snore and drool in the safe knowledge that I'm not the only one!!! Pregnancy has made me so attractive!!!
