Yay Heartmum! Glad your heting is back on - please keep your fingers crossed mine makes it!

I have had some more lovely mucus and am getting stabbing pains as if the baby is smacking me right in the cervix, which I guess it very well could be. I also keep getting a very slight "leaking" feeling but when I look there's nothing there, or at lease nothing major apart from the mucus.

This is V frustrating (and, I realise, far more information than anyone who's about to have their tea needs)

Hang on in there, Lacks. What is doublebase? Your DS sounds like he's being cute, anyway.

Ooh I am loving todays chat, the things we are willing to discuss with strangers
Rutho hope things get moving for you it sounds really frustrating.
Yay for HM2J and the central heating.
Drswife I don't think you are being unreasonable either, how can they worry when they don't know there is anything to worry about .

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 16:56

doublebase is an emollient cream for eczema which is really greasy....she has smeared it all over her clothes and the sofa and it doesn't bloody well wash out.

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 30/10/2008 16:56

ooh x post congrats to Dozy nd welcome to Tallulah - aww

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 16:59

Rutho, I'm no expert on going into labour (having never done it naturally, all by myself), but it sounds like things are happening for you.

You should start a thread in childbirth and get the MN doulas knitting in the corner, making lemon drizzle cake giving you some good advice

they are a lovely bunch.

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 17:07

I would but I don't want to look like a berk when I'm still here in December...

Yay - go Dozy! [gri n]

Congrats hon and I am v glad there is a baby girl with the name Tallulah! Fantastic name and one I regret not insisting on - I shall love vicariously through you... And get you on the feeding, good lass!

I have lost count of the number of babies now - who have we got?

Lacks, little swine, eh? Why is it always the stuff they?re not allowed that?s so bloody fascinating? My nephew dumped my SIL?s v expensive moisturiser all over the bath and then explained that he was ?cleaning? it when she hit the roof. It was everywhere and she can?t replace it due to funds - it was an Xmas present and she?d had it a week or something.

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 17:15

That shoudl read "live vicariously", I am having another sodding contraction. And my fingers have gone all fat.

cricri · 30/10/2008 17:22

Just catching up on this afternoon's chat
Congratulations Dozy and welcome to Tallulah Beautiful name and glad the feeding is going well!
Must admit I've not been brave enough to try any expressing, hand or otherwise...
I'm slightly confused about the show business - does it not necessarily have blood in it then? That's what I've been looking out for and have totally disregarded the clumps of mucus I've had over the past few days (sorry, TMI) which by the sound of it could be something after all... Haven't had any fierce BHs and my backache and low abdomen pain have gone completely today though Oh well, back to bouncing on the gym ball and squeezing shiatsu points then

barbareebaa · 30/10/2008 17:25

Huzah for Dozy and Tallulah Grace and another beautiful name

Rutho It has to be the start of something surely?? Hang on in there - I reckon you haven't long to go... not that I have a clue what I'm talking about!! Sorry as well - didn't mean to seem insensitive about having a nice time waiting when you're having a crappy time with bh/ contractions and SPD x

rellies - all ours live miles away in yorkshire or in France so no chance of anyone turning up at hospital. I saw a birthy programme where the lady was giving birth and there was a crowd of family and friends waiting outside the delivery room. GAAAH!! How horrific is that?? And when she'd had her baby the hub took the baby away to show the crowd. Yuk.

DrsWife You should definitely be the one who is calling the shots about what you do at Christmas, for sure!!!! Stick to your guns!

breastpumpings eh? Can you do it now? should I have a go? How does it work?

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 17:32

"there's no business like SHOW business, there's no business I know"

"everything about it is appealing"....NOT!

"everything the tightenings allow"

I think I might have stumbled on our next thread title?????

either that or I have cabin fever.

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 17:37

Barbs, no worries, it's only crappy when I move about - so I don't! Laziness is ace

Lacks, you genius! Can we make it just a leetle more disgusting, tho'? Appealing/ceiling?

And yes, you do have cabin fever! Have you ever seen the Muppets Treasure Island? There's a fantastic song and dance number called Cabin Fever and at the end all the muppets just sort of blink and stand around going "What the hell was all that singing about, then?". Damn, I'm going to have to watch that tonight now.

LadyBuzz · 30/10/2008 17:40

Lacks you are nuts

sparkletoes · 30/10/2008 17:43

Total at your MIL Doctorsw she sounds like a horror. This Xmas is YOUR Xmas with your DH and your LO and if you want to go out then do it... if not tough!

Ruthy all these shows and BH are confusing to me (I didn't get either until the day with DS) it may be false labour (boo!) it may be the real deal (yay!). Whatever it certainly sounds like something is starting up so I would think it will happen soon... Watch out for them getting very strong and about 5 mins apart then you know you're in business!

Pumping I never touched my pump until BF was about established last time. Should I be doing it now?? Have to say I don't fancy it at moment...

Big congrats to Dozy and Tallalulah, fantastic news!!

Lacksa I got some stain removal stuff from ALDI the other day as both DH and I have greasy stains on our fav tops. It is really good stuff, also my MIL told me if you put chalk on a greasy stain it removes it too (but I haven't actually tried that yet!).

Pinkali37 · 30/10/2008 17:49

A big congratulations to Dozy and Talluah! I love that name!! xxxxxx

mum2becks · 30/10/2008 17:55

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 18:29

It was browny who was having her CS today as well; she said she would let us know when she was back home and would try and keep up with the PN thread.....

....talking of which; do we have one of those already?

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 18:42

Yay Lacks! Plus, aren't we also going to need another AN thread in about a day at this rate?

Have had another couple of contractions, keep your fingers crossed they carry on!

Yay Dozy and welcome Tallulah, what a beautiful name!!

Sorry M2B, no update from me. Still getting lots of BH's but they are really all over the place. I am thinking today is not the day, but I guess there is still time considering ds2 came in 1.5 hours

MonkeyMargot · 30/10/2008 19:10

Wahey for baby Tallulah Grace!!! !!
Fab name! Great that she's feeding like a trouper too! Can't believe Dozy has updated FB already!! Ha ha!!
Wow - been out most the day and finally caught up reading what seems like pages of chat. Like Hana, I had a fabulous massage this morning which, if I were to win the Lottery, I would have every single day. Blissful.
Then spent the afternoon with my neighbour who's DD is 9 weeks old, and 2 other new mummies, one of whom's DS is called Dixie (after a 1950's Everton footballer apparently). I thought it quite brilliant! We ate lots of cake and I garnered as much knowledge as I could. Was super dooper . Just made fish pie which was yum!
Rutho really hope it starts progressing for you. I dread having the whole "is it/isn't it"? thing.
Doctor'sWife YANBU!!!! God - your MIL sounds like a nightmare. How do you cope living 2 streets away? Is it a bit like that show everybody loves Raymond but without the funny bits? Crikey - you're a brave woman.
On the plus side, you will have the advantage later of a local, willing and FOC baby sitter...
My MIL is an evil witch, but of the opposite kind. No interest in her future (1st) grandchild whatsoever. We've been having an ongoing ding-dong with her since our last holiday in France in September - too much to go into now - but basically she is the most selfish person I know.
Hello everyone else!
CriCri - like you, I thought a show was supposed to contain bloody bits. I've definitely had mucus stuff, but clear. And strong BH.
Want baby out as not sleeping is doing my nut in, however, hoping to catch the new James Bond movie before baby arrives!

MonkeyMargot · 30/10/2008 19:11

HM2J Glad you got your boiler sorted! Phew!!

ruthosaurus · 30/10/2008 19:15

I've just been looking back on this thread and I think Coolkat was where I am now about a week ago, so I'm going to take that as a positive sign and book tickets to go and see the Bond movie this weekend regardless.

Hana hope you manage to avoid the lurgi - not what you need right now!

M2b as your text buddy I feel like I am pushing in front a bit if I do go into labour for real! I know I have terrible manners anyway, but honestly.

I was just sitting on the sofa and giving my bump a cuddle when two little bumps appeared just under my boobs and it was clearly visible that these were tiny little feet. It made me go all ooey, so I tickled them and got headbutted in the cervix again. So DH had a go and just creased. I love this kid, it's hilarious already and I can't wait to meet it on the outside, as it were. Seriously, this had DH and me cracking up for a good few minutes. And to think, we used to go clubbing, and out for meals etc, when all we needed was a pair of comedy baby feet!
