Thank you all for your good wishes - I am off now as DH is home and looking for some chat and dinner

See you back on here next week some time, hopefully lots more babies!

Peace and love to all

well private room was a bit of a grand description; side ward really and there was no loo; I still had to use the ward toilets (thankfully right outside my room though) I could've transferred to one of their fancier ensuite rooms but they were double the price and all that was different was a loo and a dutalier chair!!

I've just spoken to my SIL......aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh . You know when you want to just let rip but find yourself biting your tongue.....mine has teeth marks in it.

Thanks ladies, off to watch a movie with DH and eat my own weight in Green and Black.

Cricri if I only had a mind to put at rest, tee hee. Lacks it's a good job you're going to nag me as my short term memory is now so bad I will forget what I'm supposed to be doing and go and dye my hair or something instead. Suiledonn, v disappointing for you, hugs and good luck!

Love and labour to all - hope we get some more babies soon as well as Dozy's tomorrow(and we were off to such a flying start...)

Anyone else want to join me in a chorus of "Oh, bollocks to this, enough with the waiting already!"?

ceebee74 · 29/10/2008 20:59

Evening all

Dozy sorry I missed you but if you do catch this, good luck tomorrow and hope all goes well for the arrival of your little lady

Suiledonn sorry you have been through so much already but not long to go now eh? Just listen to the MW's and rest!!

No news from Coolkat? Who was her text buddy??

Obs welcome home and Max is just gorgeous. Hope you get the feeding issues sorted - my friend's baby was born with a tongue-tie and the MW told her straight away that she wouldn't be able to bf and switched her to formula Glad you are getting some proper advice!! How is DS1 adjusting to his role as 'big brother'?

Saurus for you and your pains - no idea what is going on but I can only imagine how weird you are feeling right now. Rest, rest and rest!!

Am totally knackered tonight - having an 11, 7, 5 and 2 year old in the house this afternoon was just chaos (even though my parents were here aswell)!! DS's cousins absolutely dote on him and it was like the pied piper - he said come on and wandered off somewhere and the 3 older ones all followed him

Vbab the flapjack was yummy (but a little dry so I need to do something different next time) - there was none left otherwise I would have sent some over the Pennines with my parents for you

Just wanted to share that DS obviously really seems happy in his bed - we just heard a big thump which was obviously him falling out of bed. Went upstairs and by the time I got there, he had put himself back into bed and was drifting back off to sleep without even a murmur now if I can just get some of DS's love of sleep/bed to rub off on baby no2, I will be a very happy mummy!!

ceebee74 · 29/10/2008 21:37

Have just realised that I have probably put a curse on it now and will have the night from hell with DS tonight

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 21:42

coolkat and missygoo were paired up. Missygoo was on yesterday but talking about having to do a 40 mile round trip to get monitored Mon, Wed and Fri.....I assume she had to go today and that either they have kept her in, or she has had to deliver in a snow drift in the back of the car attended only by her DH and a passing shepherd

Hi guys! Glad I managed to wrangle the laptop from DH when I did. Sorry to worry you all.
All is well with me, will tell you more in a mo.

But.....I had a text from coolkat
Rebecca Mae was born today at 1226. 7llb 4oz.
Only Gas and Air, Yeah for coolkat
Baby is feeding well, but coolkat is being kept in, they think she might have an infection, but she has not confirmed and they are monitoring baby, presumbly for the infection too. Sorry that is a bit vague re infection. Will let you know when she lets me know more.
Isn't that good though!

MonkeyMargot · 29/10/2008 21:52

Ooh how exciting and congratulations to Coolkat

Babies everywhere at the moment and it is not even November

MonkeyMargot · 29/10/2008 21:59

How many babies have we had? I've lost count...!

vbab78 · 29/10/2008 22:45

ladyb - OUCH re waxing! What is it with these beauticians and pregnant ladies? Do they think we need to get used to pain?!

coolkat - WELL DONE YOU! Only gas and air too! Welcome Rebecca Mae. Beautiful.

dozy - WOW the hollywood! Thinking of you tomorrow. So at you meeting baby.

vbab78 · 29/10/2008 22:57

Been for a lovely meal this eve with mum and sis but felt like I only half enjoyed it because of my damn cold!

I felt so embarassed when I popped to the loo but luckily it turned out no one was waiting so no one heard but ... I was sat there thinking am I going to have an attack of diarrhoea like DS when no I didnt but I did two of the most violent burps ever! They were so bad I didnt know if I was going to be sick and have to turn around quickly in a very small toilet with knickers and trousers around my ankles to aim for the loo. Really weird.

TMI ALERT - On a good note no where near as embarassing as my realising when got to theatre when in labour with DS to find out I had pooed myself at some point earlier! Or when I was back on the ward after having DS realising I needed the loo (quickly) and farted really loud through the ward all the way to the loo. Came back to DH laughing his head off. Still makes him cry with laughter now. Boy have I had some glamorous times!

browny · 29/10/2008 23:11

I know I haven't been around much at all, but I've been lurking now and again (I just don't get the chance to keep up with you all ). Just to let you know that I'm going in tomorrow to have an elective c-section as baby is breech and has her legs straight down so it would have been really hard to have an ecv. I was only told today, so have been packing my bags and getting the house ready, my children are really excited and don't want to go to school tomorrow!

Huge congratulations to all the new mums and babies already .x.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 23:15

hi browny . nice to hear from you again.

Good Luck for your section tomorrow and don't forget to come and tell us all about your new DD

OP posts:
browny · 29/10/2008 23:24

Thank you LDC, I should be in bed right now, but can't settle, we've got to be at the hospital for 7.30 am, but don't actually have a time scheduled for the c/s. It seems very strange to know that tommorrow I'll be holding my new dd . I will post back and really try to keep in touch xx.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 23:34

I was like that the night before my CS with DD; so excited that I couldn't sleep. Also no time given, just turn up at 8am......thankfully we didn't have too long to wait around and I went into pre theatre at 10:30 and she was delivered at 11:33.

OP posts:
browny · 29/10/2008 23:39

I hope we're not waiting too long, I don't want to give my nerves the chance to get hold of me! This will be my second c/s, the first was over 12 years ago and was an emergency with a general, so this will be all new to me. Dh has just gone up to bed, I'm drinking a cammomile tea to help me sleep.... fat chance of that happening tonight! .

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 23:43

my elective was lovely; although the needles bit was a tad stinging. I had a right old chat to the OB who performed the op about his son's maths GCSE and needing a tutor.....weird and random!

Be aware that there may be a few momwnts between delivery and hearing that Mwahhhhhh as elective babies are still full of fluid when they come out. It seemed like an age, (but was probably a matter of a few seconds)and scared the pants off me, but no-one had warned me in advance.

I hope you have a good and quick recovery.

Dozy is having a section tomorrow as well

OP posts:
browny · 29/10/2008 23:56

I'm petrified of needles, I wonder if swallowing the entire contents of a bottle of rescue remedy would help!. Thank you for warning me too, I wish it was this time tomorrow and be holding little one in my arms... oh well, thank you so much for your kind words and advice and I'll post soon, take care xxxx

MonkeyMargot · 30/10/2008 03:29

Good luck browny with CS - hope all goes smoothly for you. Look forward to hearing news of your new DD.
Can't sleep again...anyone else up?
