scorpio, on another thread has mentioned pinching the skin between thimb and index finger really hard and then holding (not sure for how long, I've asked!). It is shiatsu apparently and will help the baby descend.

Get pinching ladies.

I've just made chocolate chip flapjacks but for some reason all the chocolate chips have just melted in. I'm sure they'll taste good anyway.

My friend can't make it tonight . The M1 is at a standstill so she is stranded at her mums.....there's always tomorrow night though.

I might give my ladygarden a wee trim and then it will look like I've spent the time being groomed

Obs, it sounds like you are losing a lot of the water you were retaining lately. It's nice to get your body back isn't it?

MMMMmmmmmmm...warm gooey chocolate flapjacks.....nice

Dozy, I hope you are all organised and prepared to meet your lovely baby tomorrow . I'll be waiting by my mobile phone for the text to arrive

the shiatsu is 10 seconds and in the really deep and thick part of the V....hurts like hell but anything is worth a go!

I was wondering how far up the fleshy bit of the thumb & forefinger I had to pinch, shall give it a try!

Flapjacks sounds very yummy!

I just spoke with my mother, who also has 3 children. I'm the eldest, was a day late, my sister was next, a day early (induction) and my brother, the youngest was 11 days late OMG!!! That is sooooo not what I wanted to hear.

Then, I went to get in the bath to find it only luke warm and the water freezing when I tried to get hot. Our central heating has been playing up for months, but now it is completely gone. I can't top up the water in the combi boiler to repressurise it, so no heat and no hot water. Doesn't bode well for my home birth. Now have to pray that baby stays in until I can sort something else out.

Dozymare · 29/10/2008 17:22

hello lovely ladies - I am loving the chat today - I have had the BEST day ever with my 2 little men - my last day as a mum to 2!! That is the good thing about having a planned CS, I really made it special as we went to Pizza Express (using our Sunday times voucher ) then went for a really, really long ride.......Will upload a video of my 2 monkeys who decided to just lie down and watch the sky at one point...it was freezing cold - they are nuts!

Got back about an hour ago and all 3 of us had a hot bath and now snuggled up on the sofa under the duvet - God I love those boys!!!

Anyway, big day for me tomorrow - shall duly update Lacks who is my text buddy - I feel very emotional/excited/scared but shall no doubt be on here tonight once boys are in bed!

AS for ladybits - I went for the hollywood!!!!!

DM xx

chocolategal · 29/10/2008 17:33

Pinkali37 · 29/10/2008 17:40

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 18:01

dozy great timing on the scrabble game. I won't click on rematch as you could be a wee bit busy for the next few weeks

OUCH! LadyBuzz poor poor you that sounds horrendous, cooling thoughts coming your way..

(BTW and sorry if TMI but I didn't even have to eat a slice of my (iron rich but bowel movement inducing)Apricot Loaf, just making it seemed to do the trick! - It is my mum's receipe so is gluten free if anyone wants it.. but can easily be converted to add wheat by substituting one ingredient). Bowelicious!! and very nice with spread of butter and a cup of tea.

Yes really hope all goes well with you Obs, your DH is soo lovely (I also had a tear when reading about his first cuddle with Max). My friend whose wee boy ended up in intensive care for 2 weeks with heart problem is now back to b/feeding him fine again. Hope same goes for you... (altho not exactly same circumstances obviously)

Good luck to DozyMare for tomorrow! Can't wait for more updates!

Heartmum I know only too well how annoying faulty boilers are all 3 houses we have ever owned has had one with problems! Hope you get it fixed soon.

Sorry if any of that didn't make sense I am knackered tonight! Early bed..

sunshine185 · 29/10/2008 18:11

here I am told you I would be back!! DH is stuck in office working like a trojan as got the next 10 days off work, then back for a week, then another 10 days off........

HOWEVER, he has managed to sort out a private room for me for sleeping recovery....on our health insurance..... if you have it, and are planning a section, definately worth checking out......was lovely with both DS's to have some private space and not be woken by other LO's crying.....i had totally forgotten to check this out this time around so brownie points to DH.

Sunshine this is an amazing thread - some of us have been on this since BFP and some have recently joined, as Obs says, it is very very special..........My DS2 is 2 as well, in fact lots of us have 2 year olds on this thread - welcome Do you know what you are having??? Any names???

I have to ask Rosa did you put garlic up your noonie??!!!!!!! Did you take the advice or are you pulling our leg

cricri · 29/10/2008 19:22

Dozy Just wanted to say hope all goes well tomorrow, I bet you can't wait to meet your little girl Sounds like you had a lovely day with your 2 boys today and made it really special for them. Will be waiting for news tomorrow!
Thanks for the shiatsu tip Lacks - I'm currently sitting on my gym ball as well so hope something works. Anything to get this baby out soon! I'm not overdue yet, just fed up.

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 19:59

Hi all, just catching up and only on p25 so far, so scuse x-posts!

Obs, good to see you back! You made me well up reading your birth story and the photo of Max is gorgeous! Well done, missus. Hope the feeding issues work out soon and hugs. You are so right about this thread, everyone is ace. Apart from consistently kicking my huge and useless arse at Scrabble. Your DH sounds lovely and full marks to him for his nice comments!

Buzz, so sorry about your waxing, owie. All beauticians should be made to practice on each other once a week and should be subject to at least the same professional scrutiny as teachers are.

I also have bump photos, Heartmum, but I think I look less pg at 37+ weeks than earlier on ? could be cos my arse has got bigger again.

Dozy, good luck for tomorrow, matey. Thinking of you? You hardass, going for the Hollywood! If you can handle that you are so ready for having your baby! I am so not worthy.

I am tired because I have not had any time to nap today and now DH is cooking tea with loads of spices in, yay! Get that baby moving? I have been getting these trippy BH contractions again this afternoon, really spacey and zoned out and thickheaded while trying to buy curtains in John Lewis (I know, I know, but they were so cheap). I bloody wish I was in labour ? I don?t know if this is pre-labour or false labour or slow labour or what but I am so knackered and in pain and can?t rest or calm down or do much ? it?s weird. I am very twitchy and can?t settle and am also insanely thirsty for some reason.

I want the good fairy from Cinderella to appear and say ?You shall have your baby tomorrow, and painlessly as well! Ting!? I am due 2 weeks today but feel so ready (but am also aware could be another 4 weeks of this crap).

My lovely auntie and her feller brought round his family heirloom moses basket for us but I already have one and theirs is a weirdly huge non-standard size, halfway between a standard moses basket and a small cot! So I am going to have to say no as I can?t get a replacement mattress or bedding to fit (but also because it is a bit old and knackered, looks like it has been in someone?s loft for years and I have already spent hours of sewing and £ on doing mine up). But it was so sweet of them to bring it and I feel v bad turning them down. We also have a second-hand cot waiting in the wings for when the baby grows out of the moses basket we already have! Spoiled, this child is, spoiled?

Northern/Midlands ladies meeting up ? I am so far okay for the 2nd week in December, isn?t there a thread about this already?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 20:16

rutho, maybe you should call the admissions ward and just go in and get checked out? the weird spaceyness could be blood sugars or it could be BP or lowered iron levels.....all sorts of things and you want to make sure you're in tip top condition for labour.

I'm also insanely thirsty and as I've preached mentioned before, "a thirsty uterus is a painful uterus", so drink, drink, drink.

Dozy, your DH sounds lovely . I had an amenity bed with DD (never thought to see if I could claim it back on our health insurance though ) but it was so worth the £40 a night for the peace and quiet. It was lovely just the two of us in the middle of the night; not worrying about other people using their mobile phones or trying to calm down screaming babies. I was quite anxious as well as my meds hadn't been sorted out so not having to deal with the ward noises was brilliant.

thanks for the reminder cricri that I need to get bouncing on my ball.

strangely enough since I opted for the EP oil up my foof, things seem to have calmed down with me . A bit of periody type cramping, but that's all. Virgil is wriggling again though

Hi everyone, back again after a long absence. I had a quick look to see what I missed but a bit fuzzy headed and can't see if I missed any more babys. Will try again later to get through everything.

Stil NO BABY here. I have been in hospital since Monday - allowed home today but on strict orders to rest. I went in for monitoring on Monday determined I was having this baby. My blood pressure reading was high so they decided to admit me. I had an internal (this time very unpleasant) and still only 2cm dilated. I got settled in and later in the day started having very regular pains. Was quite excited lying in bed on the monitor watching the peaks as each pain came and went. Went on like that most of Monday, with blood pressure up and down. Met a lovely girl in the bed opposite who was in early stages like me. Pains eased a little into the night and slept on and off. On Tuesday morning the doctor said they were keeping me in and I was happy enough as I really though this was it. Then, the pains STOPPED. Nothing for a couple of hours. My blood pressure had been ok at the previous 2 readings so I asked the midwife if I could leave. Unfortunately my blood pressure was back up so had to stay. No pains since. Was discharged today on medication for the blood pressure and have to return Friday. I can't believe it after all the excitement.
Looks like I will be a bona fide member of the Novemeber ante-natal board after all.

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 20:22

Lacks the spaciness only happens when I am also getting a contraction lower down, like period pain - maybe it's my mind looking after things for me and going a bit primal? I think I'm going to call the MW tomorrow and see if someone can pop over and check me over, they said they'd do that if I was worried about anything as I can't come and see them due to housebound SPD issues.

I never ever normally drink water, but tonight I just cannot get enough, also grapes for some reason. God, isn't pregnancy weird?

Maybe you have poured EPO on troubled waters, all puns totally intended... Glad to hear little 'un is okay - it's peculiar when they go all quiet.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 20:29

oh suiledonn, sounds like a right old roller coaster.

Get with the raspberry leaf tea, EP oil, Caulophyllum, bouncing, clary sage and sex....oh and the shiatsu thing as well.

rutho, do that...I'll be hounding you on here and FB tomorrow morning to make sure you do

I've just remembered that I have some massage oil that has clary sage in it....off to rub some onto my bump

cricri · 29/10/2008 20:31

Suiledonn How frustrating for you! We really thought you were having your baby. Glad you've been allowed home though and make sure you put your feet up! No other babies yet but Coolkat went into labour this morning so hopefully we'll have some news soon and Dozy is booked for her C-section tomorrow.
Rutho Hope the mw can put your mind at rest tomorrow.

suiledonn · 29/10/2008 20:35

Thanks. Not going to do anything tonight though as couldn't face the thoughts of going back to the hospital just yet.
I missed dd like crazy and want one nice night with her before it all kicks off again.

Forgot to say the nice girl who I met progressed with her labour and had a little boy yesterday afternoon. Her husband wasn't with her for the early stages so I was supporting her. It was lovely to be a help and interesting to see as my last labour was so quick I feel I never really noticed the stages. Learned a lot yesterday!

LadyBuzz · 29/10/2008 20:36

Dozy good luck for tomorrow we wil all be waiting for news! God news on the private room too!
Well I am off for an early night tonight as I didn't get my afternoon nap being too busy trying to get excess wax off
Suiledonn hope it kicks off again soon

Dozymare · 29/10/2008 20:46

suieldonn poor you, definately been through the mill and still no baby yet - soon my lovey, soon.........hang on in there, as this time next week you WILL be holding your baby - remember that PMA

Rutho I have also been feeling very, very spaced out and out of sorts.......could it be your iron or blood sugar>? I find that if I have something sweet (ok, a wispa and a cuppa)and a sit down I feel better......
