Ooh, dandylioness I haven't ventured onto the Am I being unreasonable threads. Am far too chicken for that kind of a bun fight!
Just had some apple crumble and a cup of early grey. Well, it's fruit isn't it?!

I'm at work and REALLY want a hot drink, but I've already had my daily quota of 2 cups of tea and they have NO DECAFF

Might have to nip out to the shops ...

frazzledoldbag34 · 22/10/2008 10:50

jools hot chocolate? Is it only 2 cups a day we're allowed - I thought it was 2-3 coffee and doesn't tea have less caffeine? (dunno?)
I usually have about 3 cups of tea a day . No coffee though, even the smell makes me feel like I have to lie on the floor and do deep breathing. Yuck.

frazzledoldbag34 · 22/10/2008 10:54

Dandylioness - and it's home made so surely that makes it even healthier. Didn't even put very much sugar into it. [feels positively saintly]
Am meeting a friend for lunch later - can't promise not to eat like a lardy pig there! Somehow being pregnant just makes me think 'sod it'. Not good, when I've just lost a huge amount of weight and was down to an 8/10 for the first time in about 9 yrs.
Have a good day all, am off to do some work now!

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 10:58

We're in a new building - great for me because it is in my home town, meaning I only have to commute into the London office once or twice a week. However, the facilities are a little lacking at the moment - tea or little sachets of coffee and that is it !

I'm trying to avoid hot choc as long as possible - calories !! I have some decaff Early Grey at home and must remember to bring that in. Found one fruit tea bag at the bottom of my laptop bag so that will do for now

I think the guidelines are three mugs of tea per day, so I guess I could have another but am saving that for later I know the allowance for coffee is less, but I don't really fancy coffee any more so haven't bothered rememering that one.

Am having a hungry day today - had a big bowl of cereal and a glass of OJ this morning and have eaten a banana and a pack of low fat crisps since I've been at work - now, my lunch is calling me I really really fancy some ritz crackers too

By the way ladies meant to say Isabella Oliver are doing 20% off their 'favorites' range online until (I think) 28th Oct.

FiKelly · 22/10/2008 11:04

I've never had a Starbar... ever!!! So what are they like?

SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:06

Hey you ALL thank you so much for all your reassurances.. I feel the MS all the time... but especially when I think about food...

Does anyone know if Primark does maternity wear? Feeling the credit crunch :S Also arent Top Shop normally very good for the slim ladies? I always have problems getting a good size 16 in there?

I am really praying everything goes well at the scan - that's my main worry at the moment... I really wish they would give us a scan every 2 weeks so we wouldnt worry! I was trying to work out how much it would cost to go private and one place quoted me £75+ just for the scan! I couldnt beleive it!

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 11:08

Star Bar - "milk chocolate shot through with peanuts and creamy caramel" - obviously only OK if you have made the decision to eat the occasional peanut.

OP posts:
FiKelly · 22/10/2008 11:16

jools you've just explained why i've never had a starbar... I not really a lover of peanuts anyway and loathe caramel lol. I'm a solid milk chocolate girl

SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:18

I am actually really into my spicy food.. not liking sweet but keep having to indulge as my sugars are dropping SO much... never realised how much I DONT like sweet things until now!

Momino · 22/10/2008 11:20

Jools, I'm eating peanuts. avoided them with DD1 and 2 and they both still have bad eczema. I'm willing to take the risk now - I want a star bar!

At how many weeks did you all start buying maternity wear? Is it too soon at 8.5weeks?

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 11:35

I'm sorely tempted to buy maternity wear at almost 9 weeks, as I am running out of work clothes that fit !! However, being a paranoid, superstitious worrier, I don't want to buy ANYTHING until I've had my first scan on Nov 11th, so I'm just trying to hold out till then

I did buy a cheap £12 pair of M&S jeans in a larger size that will do me at weekends for a while We are desperately trying to save so that I can have the full maternity leave, so I'll be looking for cheap bargains for all my clothes.

OP posts:
SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:39

Yeah me too! SOme of Marks stuff online seems reasonable - but not sure I want to spend that sort of money.. I do feel really cheap! My next scan is 7th November.. dread it with Glee! I am looking forward to it really... Let me know if you find any bargains but I have a suspicion that things will be automatically expensive because it is for pregnancy. I am thinking of getting a few Indian outfits made up - with material I like.. and wear those at work.. but that mihgt be odd.. All my clothes are too tight and hubby is getting upset about me wearing tight clothes.. I dont really want to buy too much either :S its sooo confusing to know what to do.. I cant beleive so many people are thinking about names already...

We do names differantly in that we get given the first letter and then we chose.. not looking forward to it because my sister in law will get to choose :S she's a cow!

:D I am really verbal today - so bored at work and sooo SleepY!

Momino · 22/10/2008 11:42

i'm being superstitious too and not buying the jeans till after the scan. am still fitting into my clothes ok but most of my jeans are low waist. i do have a high-waisted, wide legged pair of jeans (sound horrible but are/were cute) which have now gone away.

at the end of the day when my bump is bigger (ie I'm more bloated), i put a hair elastic through the button/hole of my jeans and that works. I'm getting more resourceful with my growing belly!

Momino · 22/10/2008 11:45

Sweetbroody, i'm working from home and getting NOThing done. have been on ebay. been on mumsnet. taken a 15 minute sandwich break. did about an hour of work. and I have so much to do! just so unmotivated.

i hate when it posts twice

SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:52

Thats a really good idea! I get worried they might pop though with a rubber band. The thing is I'm always pulling up my top (Not all the way!) to do injections.. so I do feel concious.

:S

Its a minefield.. I'm just glad theres so many experienced women in our midst. I know its weird but i've had so many strange dreams oF BF.. I am really looking forward to having baby in my arms.. Want to know what he looks like! I really want a little boy - does anyone else have any preferences?

FiKelly · 22/10/2008 11:52

I'm lucky in that I have a fair amount of maternity stuff from having DS but it's all for heat wave weather as was last pregnant in scorching summer of 2006. I'm going to need long sleeve long t-shirts and have treated myself to a new pair of jeans... I thought at least I can sell them on ebay if anything happens.

I don't know if primark do maternity but Newlook do... haven't had a chance to look in there yet though.

SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:55

I should really be working but I cant concentrate on anything but my body.. its strange isnt it! Mo whens your due date? I wish Iw as at home! has ebay been any good for getting things?

I wish there wasnt a credit crunch... or taht I had more money!

SweetBROODY · 22/10/2008 11:56

Just had a look at Topshops website - the choices are far better then M&S...
